Late one evening, Sync's 'dex buzzed with a new message. Green eyes scanned over the message twice - new partnered mission assignment, report for duty in the morning at 7am sharp, bring cold weather gear if you have it, etc. - before he internalized it. Winter gear...? But it was well into spring already, what need did he have for winter gear? Not that he had any anyway; he hadn't exactly brought many clothes with him when he'd left Grande Ile, and as yet he hadn't bothered to obtain much of anything that he had to pay for. Oh well. Rather than sit and puzzle over what he needed cold weather clothes for, he mentally set the matter aside before turning in early for the night.

The next morning saw the green-haired grunt arrive fifteen minutes early. An agent approached him and led him off to a vehicle fitted with all-terrain tires. Large, sturdy backpacks filled with a variety of gear they would presumably need for their mission had already been placed in the back of the vehicle, though the agent refrained from going into much detail at the moment, instead opting to wait for the grunt's partner to arrive before doing so. Not that Sync could blame him; he wouldn't want to repeat himself, either.

"Winter gear? Winter. It's spring. And I need winter gear. What the..." Luxury grumbled at the message she got on her Rocket 'dex for a solid five minutes before sighing and accepting her fate. Why in the world would she need winter gear for this mission? And a partnered mission? Did that mean just her and another? What if it was a male? She hated those missions. It was alright with Panther, they got along great, but he was hardly around base anymore so the chances of it being with him were slim to none. Ok... Izaya was out too, since he couldn't ever seem to keep his stuff straight... KO maybe? She'd hope for KO, since he was only half a threat to her and they seemed to get along well enough for her to not wanna kill him. Still... it was an awful big base, and it was more than likely that she was gonna be stuck in some snowy environment with some dude she didn't know or care to know.

Why had she joined this freaking team again?

Oh yeah, to belong...

Once in her room for the night, Luxury went back to her grumbling, accidentally knocking Chora's 'ball to the floor as she packed what little she had. The Liepard just sat on her bed and watched her, ears perking and flattening as her trainer's words flowed from amusing to atrocious and back again. "Chora... I hate snow." The Pokemon purred in agreement, then realized what was going on and realized she was probably going with her. "Liepaaaard..." Chora whined, flatting on the bed. "Hush feline," Luxury teased, and put her back in her 'ball before finishing up and going to bed.

The next morning, Luxury got to the garage about ten minutes early, and looked around through tired eyes. This is gonna be fun... A second later, an agent was waving at her. Oh, there we go. . . . Yup, a male I don't know. Great. Luxury straightened up a bit due to the agent looking right at her, and joined him and the other grunt by the vehicle. The tires and gear certainly looked like they were going to see lots of white fluffy stuff... But it looked like she was going with the greenest grunt on base. Ha, at least we won't be able to lose each other... Luxury thought with a mental eye roll, before turning her entire focus on what the agent had to tell them.

The countenance Sync turned to the young woman would perhaps look strikingly familiar; a bright pair of green eyes set in a young-looking face with a curious and critical expression rather than an apologetic one, a head of green hair styled up instead of down, and casual, dark-colored clothing as opposed to fancier light-colored attire around a lean frame that was only a couple inches taller than hers. The grunt offered his mission partner a brief, cursory glance before focusing his attention on the agent before them.

The agent, unfortunately for Luxury, was also male.

He lowered the tablet in his arms, a pleased expression forming on his face when the young woman joined them. "Good, you're both nice and early. I'll get right to it, then: One of our clones from the labs was en route to be sold when it escaped. It's estimated to be quite profitable, so it's in our best interests to find and retrieve it so it can be sold as soon as possible. It's still young and so it isn't very dangerous." As he spoke, the agent lifted his tablet once again and navigated through a few menus before he pulled up an image of a small Lugia with intricate blue markings through its snow white coat and large, striking blue eyes. "Weak as it is it's still a legendary clone, so you should be cautious regardless. Here's its ball, to help you in recapturing it." So saying, he withdrew a minimized master ball from his pocket and offered it to Luxury. "Unfortunately, it was last seen heading up into the mountains - thus the need for winter clothing."

Luxury nodded as the agent explained their mission, and nodded again after taking a good look at the Pokemon. A baby Lugia? Wonderful. Luxury was glad she made sure Trae and Nioshii were along for this trip, though she left Arsha behind. She may be a fire Pokemon, but she was way too young to be going on missions just yet. Besides, if anything happened to her, Nioshii would cook her dead. She almost brought Gwen, too, but she hadn't trained much with her, and she figured if they were going somewhere cold it would probably be high and dangerous... Trust and good teamwork would be important, for sure.

Even if her human teammate was a guy.

But hey, she was the one handed the Master Ball. Luxury allowed herself to puff up her chest and grin... mentally. Outwardly, she simply nodded professionally and took the 'ball as if it were no big deal. "Understood." Luxury tucked the ball into the safest pocket she had, and turned to her partner to ask if he were ready...

Only when she actually looked at him, she found herself choking for a second. Is that...?!?! No way... He was the spitting image of the guy she'd meandered around the valentine's ball with. Was he really a Rocket? He certainly hadn't seemed the type... Getting herself together, though, she simply waved off her coughing and said seriously, "Ready when you are."

Sync leaned a bit closer to get a good look at the Lugia - another legendary bird; were all of the legendary pokemon birds? It seemed that way so far - before the agent turned the tablet back around to tap through some menus again. His partner's coughing drew the grunt's attention, and he threw her a mildly perplexed look. Was he ready? He didn't need to think about the response much, but before he could open his mouth, the agent spoke up again.

"Before I forget - we've provided each of you with a bag of supplies. Space blankets, a tent, bottles of water," he listed off, consulting a list on the device in his hands, "food... There's a full list in each bag, and each is identical. I suggest whoever isn't driving take a good look at it. There's also two sets of coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and other warm clothing that should be in your sizes," he said, gesturing to two piles of dark-colored clothing peeking out from around the bags, "which I suggest you make use of once you get up there. There isn't a lot up there. There is a ski lodge and hot springs you can make use of, so long as you don't draw any suspicion to yourselves. It should take a good part of the day to complete your mission, but you should have enough supplies to last you through tomorrow if anything goes wrong. Both of your 'dexes should receive a map with specific locations in it shortly, so you know where to head first. I think that's all," he said in closing as he lowered his tablet and held up a set of keys for either of them to take, "so unless either of you has any questions...?"

"I don't," Sync said without hesitation as he reached for the keys, though he didn't know if this girl had any questions or not.
