Welcome to Gym Battle!


Here you may call out to challenge other Trainers to a battle!

How do you battle, you ask?! It's simple!!

Battling

HP: Your HP is the amount of health that you have! Each Kitsu will have an HP of 30
Attacking/Defending:
Each round, you may choose to attack or defend.
To attack - roll 2d6
The first dice determines if you hit...
1 = miss
2-5 = hit - second dice is your damage
6 = you crit! Multiply your damage by 1.5, round up
To defend - defense: roll 1d4. This is the amount you may negate from an attack immediately before your post. If the person above you choose to defend also, nothing happens! It's not a heal, only a block.

Special Abilities: Wut. What is this? Well, obviously some Kitsusagi will be able to do more than just physical attacks and block! In fact, most Kitsu can do things like this. You didn't know? Now you do!!

Before battling, please visit the Powered Abilities thread and post an ability you want your Kitsu to have for this event only. Afterwards, more abilities may become available! Abilities must be approved by staff before you can use them!


You do not need to own a Kitsu to battle! Simply make up a character that is a Kitsusagi or even a human. This can be a quest Kitsu or random human NPC that you want to interact with future Kitsu or whatever~

There will be an 8 hour cooldown after each battle so your Kitsusagi can rest and heal. So, if you battle at 1pm, your next battle cannot be until 9pm. After you have found a battle partner, please create a new thread in the subforum to run your battle! Once the battle is over, edit your battle agreement post in this thread with the results.

Gym Battling will close on Dec. 20th @ 11:59 CST

Candy! For the most part, those who win a Gym battle will receive 5 Candy.




However..... watch out for staff members! If a staff member randomly challenges you to a Gym battle, there is always the potential for other prizes to drop!

[Battle Forms]


For any Battle thread, please put [GB] in the thread title. If you want the possibility of a RANDOM ENCOUNTER in any RP thread (including a 1 on 1 Gym Battle), put a [!] in the thread title. This means that a Staff member may invade your thread with a "boss" that players may team up to fight or they can keep fighting each other plus the boss if they really want to. I mean, that's up to you....

To keep track of your Kitsu's HP and the flow of battle, please use the following form, placed at the bottom of your post:

Players Name: (username here)
Kitsu's Name: (the attacking Kitsu here)
HP: (your Kitsu's current HP)
Target: (who are you attacking?)
Damage: (if you are attacking, how much damage did you do?)
Defense: (if you are defending, how much did you defend for?)
Special: (if you used a special/powered ability that does something other than attack or defense, what did it do?)

[Sample Gym Battle]


Person A rolls 2d6, gets a 10 total. They then subtract 6, leaving them doing 4 damage. They would fill out the form at the bottom of their post like so:
Players Name: Me!
Kitsu's Name: Pickarchoo
HP: 30
Target: You!
Damage: 4
Defense: 0
Special: n/a

Person B thinks, ouch that hurt! I should block or dodge the next attack... They roll 1d4 to block Person A's next attack. They get a 3... So their form this post would look like:
Players Name: Me
Kitsu's Name: Charmenderz
HP: 24
Target: you
Damage: 0
Defense: 3
Special: n/a

Person A decides to use an attack-based powered ability. Let's say they describe it as an energy blast. They roll 2d4 for the blast. Their first dice is a 2 - meaning they do only half damage. Their second dice is a 4, though. Yay! So adding it all together, they would do 6 damage, and half of that is 3. So their form would look like this:
Players Name: Me!
Kitsu's Name: Pickarchoo
HP: 30
Target: You!
Damage: 3
Defense: 0
Special: n/a

Person B is still thinking defensively. They've chosen a healing ability for their Kitsu! They decide to use it now. To heal, they roll 1d6 and they get a 6! Great, now they are healed 6 points. Because they block/dodged the previous attack, they already take no damage from that. On top of that, they can heal up to 6 points so that puts them back at full HP!
Players Name: Me!
Kitsu's Name: Charmenderz
HP: 30
Target: You!
Damage: 0
Defense: 0
Special: heal 6
