gauged lobes - how big can you go before they're permanently stretched? is there a general rule to do with that?

First things third it's STRETCHED lobes.


Most people can go to at least 2ga (1/4") and still have it go back to normal when they take it out, but there really are no guarantees.

Basically, why stretch if you don't plan to have big-sized lobes forever? So what if you regret it?

Though i have read an article where they surgically make them smaller..

It depends on the ear.
Some can stick a plate there, and they'll go back to normal, some put a q-tip there and they never go back.
