"Well, it's out there to see." Kiki said quietly. She was happy where she was for now - it was hard earned - but there were beautiful things there in the world, and wasn't it all truly theres anyway?

While Kanika gathered, Kiki kept an eye out for things moving in the water, a danger that had claimed several extremist lives. She had no idea what could be there. She did not want to find out at this venture. Fortunately, for now, the water seemed calm.

"Do you think we have enough of that? If not, theres another pond in that direction..." she could hear it and feel it, the wierd vibration of flowing water in the air.

"I think we'll be fine." Kanika said eye on the prizes she was gathering with quick efficiency. She worked as fast as possible but made sure not to damage anything more than she had to. Her parents had taught to be be respectful of the world around her and not to take too much. She'd be done soon and they could be out of there even faster. She didn't wan to extend her stay longer than was necessary.

"Done," Kanika said as she raised and fixed the strap on her shoulder. "Let's go." Kanika bound off in the direction they'd come, glad that they hadn't had any bad encounters.

"All right." Kiki sped her pace to keep up with the energetic Elaria with her head start. She was still thinking of her story and the way she was going to end it, the morals she was going to espouse in it (because it had to have one, otherwise no one would want it to see the light of day), when a sensation in her antennae stopped her.

"Hey." She hissed, listening, "Do you hear that?" It was faint, sensed more through her feelers than her ears, and it sounded like something moving. Predator, prey, or earthling?

Kanika slowed down when Kiki did, antennae twitching and feeling around them. “Yes,” she whispered as she made her way closer to the Alkidike, better to stay close. “We can’t fight anything.” She said softly. They were not equipped to fight at all, sure fists could do enough damage but if something was after them that was armed then they would have no chance. “What do you think it is?” Kanika stood frozen, listening and feeling out the air. She hated being this defenseless, she wanted to have her blades!

Kiki shook her head. She had no idea what it could be, but the girl was right - they couldn't fight it. They had gone out with the intent of gathering, not hunting. She listened to the sounds - now that she was straining to hear and feel it, it felt big. Too big for the two of them on their own.

That left one option, and it was one that many sisters disliked. "Lets take it carefully." she said, creeping forward.
