Ai was stretched out on tbe sand wathing Myrida and their pregnant snaptrotter in turns. They were the two most important creatures in his life and he cared for them both even though one was significantly more scaley than the other.

Both had grace in their own way. He smiled at the sight of them. He felt comfortable safe and free

Myrida chuckled as she held out the basket for the Mama Snapper. The female had bonded rather quickly with the bestial mother. Something she was sort of surprised at. The large female beast was just happily going along with whatever Myrida had put her through. She hadn't noticed the small bump that had started to develop over the course of the past few months. The healer who had overseen the beast noted that Snaptrotters typically built nests within the last month of their pregnancy.

"She hasn't started that nest yet...tho the Beast Master I talked to said that Snaptrotters could. In theory. Hold onto their developed eggs for up to a month longer." she said as she looked back to her partner. "So, few more months give or take..."

Ai didnt think it would take that long, what with Myr being able to feel the eggs already but that could have been a little more magic then not he supposed. He then noticed that both of them had the same strange sort of glow and he tilted his head trying to figure out what he was seeing. What was going on? Why would Myrida resemble a reptile in this way, what was the same about them? She was warm blooded while Mama trotter was cold..so what..was that a bump?

Myr had never put on weight and he was pretty sure it would show up on her sweet bottom first. But there was a bump..oh my gods. He got up from where he was sitting and sidled up behind her, tucking his face into her hair and wrapping his arms around her front, holding her belly right there. She would pick up on it eventually, he thought as he nibbled her ear.

She let out a squeak as her man touched her belly. A few wide eyed blinks before it hit her. "Wait...you don't think?" she looked up at him before the Mama beast gently nuzzled her side. "Oh....Ai !!!" she turned to wrap her arms around his neck.

"Do you think its truth? We have to see a healer to make sure..." she squealed.

If anything Ai'ian was sure that the Snaptrotter had just confirmed it with that odd behaviour, but he would of course let Myr see the healer anyway. "Well my dear you are a little rounder right there then ever before." He ran his hands up and down her back not able to stop his smile from taking over his face. "I really think you are pregnant."

This would mean so many wonderful things, stuff to prepare, build, make, and enjoy! He would be a Father, she would be a Mother, they would have their own little family!

Myrida danced away from the bigger male. Giggling as she looked back to him. "The healer isn't that far off...come on. We can go find him no issue!"

She had dashed back into their small coastal hut. The Mama beast rolled her eyes as she lumbered back to the pen that Ai'ian had built for her. Myrida was wondering how they would get there...

Ai rolled his eyes too, his mate was so flittery but still adorable all the same. He patted the mother trotter as she walked past.

"If this turns into a three hour journey Myrida, and I have to carry you back you owe me a foot massage." He called to her while she was inside the hut. He sounded so blase but he really was excited. He just didn't want to be wrong, it would almost be easier for him if they didn't find out right now and then they could just keep trying to be sure.

He bit his nails something he had not done since he was five years old.

Myrida was quick to dash back out. Glee written all over her face as she pulled Ai'ian towards where one of the walking paths were. They could go to small group nearby, they knew the healer and would help them get there fast.

"Oh...if its twins...do you think they'll be identical?" she beamed at him as they walked. "Ah...we'll have to set up a fence of some sort to keep them away from the deeper waters..."

"I hope they won't be indentical, unless they both look like you then it would be okay. Yes a fence will be a good thing, especially since they are our children and will be prone to adventure I'm sure. I'm happy that they will grow up here though, I like it here."

He looked longingly at the snaptrotters makeshift den, wishing he could join her for a nap. He was afraid. But he had to go to support Myr. Pity they just couldn't feel her belly for eggs, that would be too simple.

He prayed it was a decent healer, for his Myr, she deserved the best if he had to go to Oba and sweat to death he would find a good healer.

Myrida went back to her partner, leaning up to kiss him gently. "Either way they'll be ours..." she muttered.

She led the male into the small cluster of huts. Waving to one of their fast growing friends. A elderly Matorian woman who knew just about everyone. "Gran! We need to get to the best healer around!"

The elderly woman blinked as she looked at the young woman. "Aye, child. Are we expecting now?" she smiled. A twinkle to her eyes. "Its about time you two young lovers had your own...alright now." she was quick to fetch a Rider to take the couple to the nearest settlement. "You two find, Lavvin, that be my girl who went off to make something of herself. Find her. She'll look after you."

Myrida hugged Gran before waiting for her partner. "Let's go love...."

Ai sighed, hiccuped, then hugged the granny too. How old woman knew all things, he wasn't sure. He shook his head and was dragged off after his mate onto the back of arguably the largest green snaptrotter he had ever seen and they were off to the healer. It was nice to ride for a bit, it was a good excuse to snuggle his mate too.

On trotterback it didn't take nearly as long as he had thought it would, the strength of these creatures always shocked him, and soon their family would have a whole nest of them.

"Are you sure this is the right way?" He whined.

The rider chuckled. "We're there big guy." he said as they came to a stop. "Hey, word around the group is that you two have a mama snapper in residence. Advice...let her hunt on her own. She can provide for the babies, you never know..she might bring you something as well."

Myrida chuckled as she led her mate away. "Thank you!!" she waved him off before walking towards a vendor. Asking around she managed to find Lavvin. A well built woman who was all about caring for younglings from what the people said. Smiling as they walked up to her. "Gran, sent us."

Ai looked at the rider a little startled but thanked him all the same for his advice, word sure traveled fast here in a place where blizzards didn't forestall the gossip.
He trailed after his mate as she charged ahead, he felt awkward for some reason, bus she sure didn't, wonderful girl.

He took a deep breath an stood with his arms around her. Yes he was the one who got her pregnant and hopefully would be the only one to ever get her pregnant. Children, his children. He tried not to glare. The woman could probably see right through him like any healer could anyway.

He had far too many emotions coursing through him. He needed hours in the forge to work this off. "She said you were her girl." There he had spoken..words...yes. He swallowed.

Myrida leaned back into the male as he wrapped his arms around her. She chuckled at the female. "Yes. She did say you were."

Lavvin chuckled. "Yes...Gran is my Ma. She must of seen...ah yup. There's that little starting bump. You must be a first time, Momma. She only sends first time Momma's to me. Alright sit down, lets see what the magic says."

Myrida walked forward as the healer touched at her small bump lightly. With a hum the healer nodded. Myrida bounced back to Ai'ian. "Thank you so much!!! Love, should we look into supplies to craft things for the baby? Oh...we need cloth. Lots of cloth."

She was already thinking of ideas for different ideas for outfits.

Ai's head swam but his grin widened enough to break his face dispite himself and he scooped up his mate and twirled her around. "We're gonna be parents, we're gonna be parents!" He shouted with glee dancing from foot to foot before placing her back on her feet and planting a big kiss on her lips. "Too hyper to shop right now!"

He probably couldn't he would run the stall over he was so excited. "Babies, babies, babies!" It was true, it was true! He was going to be a Daddy for the most wonderful Mommy!
