Jesse was a little disappointed that Fiona hadn't wanted to join in, but she wasn't a creature to force anyone into doing something they didn't enjoy and instead, she would smile understandingly before watching as the Diviner chose to make her exit.
Having been assigned a task to do for that lesson, Jesse was quite happy to continue on, taking back the shears that she had hoped Fiona would borrow before pruning the dead branches and limbs from the bushes as best she could.
The Fennec Child planned to allow her roommate just enough time to get back to their Dorm Room and settle down - or find something else to do before she returned - but inevitably time slipped away from her and before she knew it, Vikraahm had approached to draw her attention to the fact the daylight was fading and that she'd been working for a good few hours.
Grateful for the male's acknowledgement, Jesse would reluctantly relinquish the tools to the older male before heading for her things. "I just don't know where the time goes," she would beam, "See you guys next time!" Not forgetting Vikraahm's little Pet Scorpion Shinshi, Jesse would give the pair a wave before taking her leave of the room.

Vikraahm would work tirelessly throughout the day to complete his task. He was not one to leave jobs half done or to do them without giving his full effort. When he said he would do something, he would ensure it was done to the best of his ability. And so that was his mentality as he watered the plants. He would go back and forth, refilling the water containers before going to a section and watering them by hand. In this instance his raiment could not help him, as he could only turn the water to ice and then control it. And he needed it to be water when he watered it, not ice. He did not want to kill the plants, and with the weather today, which would result from it not being water as he doubt it would melt soon. So he would go to the plants and water them moderately from top to bottom in order to ensure he watered them enough. Issue was that the greenhouse was large and expansive, and so the task that seemed simple would take him a long time.
By the time he actually finished, it was nearing the end of the day. He was glad he had sectioned off the help with someone else, as he doubted he could've had time to do that himself. He saw her still at work, her friend having left earlier and declining to help for whatever reason. Walking over, he would tell her the task was done and he would take over so she may go about her day. This was due to several reasons, one of which being that he appreciated the help from her and now that he was done watering he would no longer need assistance for his task. The other reason was because he wanted to ensure the job had been done well, as it was his reputation with their instructor on the line. The third and final reason tied back to the first as he only asked for her help to speed things up as he had other tasks to do, but in general preferred to be the one doing tasks he was given. He had given his word for their completion, and so he would do so by himself as a priority.
After taking the tools from his helper, Vikraahm would spend the rest of the few remaining hours of light pruning the plants and checking to make sure it was done sufficiently. Once that was done, he would put away all the things he had used for the day. He would make the extra effort to put them back exactly where he had left them as he felt that it was the respectful thing to do. With all that said and done, he would close the doors behind him as he left botany and headed back to his dorm.

It was that time of the year again. Unlike graduation which was bittersweet for Mari, the beginning of the school year was a rather exciting time, what with new students joining the class and older students returning. Not many chose to do botany as an elective over the more popular combat classes (Juliana being one such example, and Mari was still quite disappointed with her decision to drop the class despite knowing where her passion was) but as a result, the students she did get were genuinely interested and she'd rather get a few dedicated students over a full class who were only there out of obligation and weren't interested.
She'd spent the last night looking over her lessons plans one last time just in case but despite her late night, she still got up early enough to stop by the town for some supplies and arrive at the academy while the sun was barely peeking out over the horizon. The guards didn't bat an eye at her arriving with a young delivery boy carrying a bag of loam at that early hour and she quickly made it to the greenhouse with time to spare. After paying the boy, she tied her hair up, put on her apron and gloves, and got to work. She started her usual routine, watering the plants that needed it, trimming dead leaves and stems and changing the soils of a couple of rather stubborn shrubs. It was a daunting task given the size of the greenhouse and while she usually employed the help of the groundskeeper to keep up, this morning routine was something she'd been doing for years and she considered it a relaxing exercise.
Once she was done, it was considerably brighter and the light brought out the beauty of the scene, bathing the green leaves and colourful flowers to make a truly dazzling sight. Mari couldn't help but admire the scene for a few moments; despite being greeted by it every morning, she could never get used to it and it always reminded her why she decided to become a botanist in the first place despite it not being as prestigious as her previous position. She didn't spend too long though, it was nearly time for her students to arrive and with the help of her trusty wheelbarrow, Mari brought pots of Celosia plants to the cleared up corner she used as a teaching space. The bright red, orange and yellow blooms were quite a sight and a rather appropriate way to start the school year in her opinion.

Previous Day: It wasn't like she hadn't noticed the additional scent to her dorm room that evening, but if she was honest, Jesse was still feeling a little down that she hadn't been able to make any new friends straight off the bat and so had given the aroma little thought - seeing herself to bed in the hopes she could start the new day afresh, wiping the slate clean so she was ready to try again.
New Day: With Botany as her Elective Lesson, Jesse would waste little time in preparing her things - At one point, her gaze would drift across to the body hidden beneath the covers of her roommate's new bed, but having learnt her lesson about letting her excitement get the better of her - namely a high-pitched scream belonging to Taenya (her previous roommate) leaving her ears ringing painfully, Jesse decided that jumping onto the bed of her new dorm-buddy was out of the question.
Instead, she would gather her things together, taking her leave of the room as quickly and as quietly as possible before taking on her Fennec Form and putting her excitement at a new possible friend waiting for her when she returned, into running instead.
It took her little to no time in reaching the Botany Classroom and as she entered - taking on her human form to open the door - Jesse would breathe deep the scents that would greet her before turning her attention to the sound of movement from somewhere close by,
"Good Morning!" At the sight of Marisenn with a wheelbarrow full of vibrant plants, she would beam in her tutor's direction before setting her books down on a free table, "Did you need a hand with anything?" Her long tan-coloured tail would swish excitedly from side to side as she made her way over to inspect the brightly coloured plants, "I've never seen these before...can I touch them?" she would lift her eyes, uncertainly before adding a quick, yet subtle smile to her question.
It was a new day and another botany class that Marisenn had to teach. That sounded forced even in her head, something that was rather uncharacteristic seeing as how she usually looked forward to teaching her elective class, but sheβd been rather exhausted the past few days. Julia had fallen severely ill and trying to care for her along with keeping up with her normal duties had wrung her out. But she wasnβt about to take a class offβshe wasnβt feeling charitable about waking up before dawn as her usual schedule demanded but with her ward feeling better now and having her free time returning, teaching might help her relax a little and wind down from the hectic week.
Pruning and watering the plants took longer than usual that day and even after she was done, Marisenn had to lean against the table and take a breather, wiping sweat off her brow with arm, with sleeves dutifully rolled up. Her dress might have been plainer than sheβd prefer but even then sheβd rather not have it be dirtied more than it had to. She didnβt dawdle too long though, managing to bring some smaller yet mature pokeweed shrubs for the dayβs lesson just in time before students were to come in.

Jesse couldn't think of a day where she hadn't taken on her Shifter Form and had a good run on her way to class - The fact that she was nearly always early because she found it almost impossible to stay in bed and of course with her need to expend that little bit of energy so she didn't run the risk of being disruptive, the Fennec Child felt it only right to add a few extra metres to her run and this morning, set her sights on one of the cake stalls in the market - Sure, she was going quite out of her way, but with it being too early to head over to Rosalyn's Bakery, a quick sprint wouldn't do anyone any harm.
Purchasing a small selection of cakey-treats in her human form, the Fox would once again transform before sprinting back to the Conservatory Wing where she would make her final shift for that morning as she rose up to open the door.
It looked as though Marsienn was already hard at work, but Jesse would greet her all the same, slipping her satchel off before placing it on one of the desks, "Good Morning!" she would beam, turning to look before tilting her head as she noted her tutor appeared to be quite tired, "Are you alright?" taking a smaller bag from inside her satchel, the Fennec Child would advance, "I brought some treats for the class," There were never really too many students there, so Jesse hoped she'd bought enough to share around when the others arrived, "Would you like one?"
Making her way over, Jesse would offer up the bag, each item neatly packed so it wouldn't become tainted by another,

After taking another breaker, Mari decided to start planting the hibiscus seeds sheβd received a fortnight ago while waiting for her students to arrive; sheβd planned to do it soon but it didnβt hurt to get an early start and finish sooner. Sheβd only managed to turn the soil on an empty soil bed when a cheery greeting drew her attention to the front of the greenhouse where Jesse was dropping her bag on one of the tables sheβd set aside for students.
βGood morning Jesse,β she greeted the young shifter with a smile that tried to be as jovial as it usually appeared but probably looked like a tired attempt. βHowβve you been?β Mari always appreciated Jesseβs cheerful and enthusiastic demeanour, it was rather refreshing. Seeing as she was a shifter, Mari wasnβt surprised when the younger girl picked up on her exhaustion and she smiled and shook her head at her question asking if she was alright.
βItβs just been an exhausting week,β she admitted, βbut Iβll be alright.β The offer of treats surprised and delighted her. She avoided indulging her sweet tooth too much lest it manifest itself on her hips, but when it was offered, she wouldnβt refuse it at all. βWhy, thank you very much Jesse,β she said as she took one of the individually wrapped treats βI canβt say no to some delicious treats at this hour, and I donβt think the rest of your classmates will either.β She pulled off her gloves to unwrap it and take a bite, savouring the honey-sweet flavour.

"I'm not too bad," she would smile, "I have a new-new roommate, but we haven't had a lot of chance to get to know eachother yet," Even though they'd had a brief visit to the Market Plaza the other day, The Fennec Child was still hoping she and Rin would become good friends...even if she had to work real hard to attain that friendship.
It was clear on her face that Jesse couldn't quite understand why she and her fellow Shifter weren't quite hitting it off just yet, but her concerns on the subject would quickly dissipate as Mari accepted her offer of a sweet-treat. Once again, the Fox would show that happy smile, glad that she was able to at least try to lift another's spirits, "I think I've brought enough," she knew the class wasn't exactly a large one, but if she was lucky - even with the chance of new students on the cards - there might just be one or two cakes left for her to bring back for Catherine at the end of the day as well.
Taking the moment to sneak a little cupcake for herself, then setting the box safely on the side, the Fennec Child would turn her gaze towards the flora that Marisenn had laid out for the class to inspect before tilting her head in curiosity, "What strange berries..." she would muse, taking a bite of her cake whilst once again resisting the urge to reach out and touch the Pokeweed leaf closest to her, "Are they edible?" she had become aware of some people making wines and cordials out of certain fruits and berries, but had never been quite certain exactly which berries were safe to touch or might prove poisonous if eaten... In her mind, anything that she didn't know was edible, was better left alone.

Ah, roommate troubles. Jesse seemed to have her fair share of them and Mari could tell it bothered her last year and now as well, which was a shame. A good roommate really helped, she knew that from experience, and usually, you left school with a dear friend. The thought dredged up old, painful memories and Mari mentally shoved them down almost immediately; now was certainly not the time. She instead gave Jesse a gentle, reassuring smile. βIt is only the start of the year, you'll have plenty of time to get to know her. Then the fun begins,β she winks. Her definition of fun might be different to others, but it was good to keep people on their toes. Things would be boring otherwise.
Once the cake was reduced to crumbs, Mari dusted them off and patted her hands clean before pulling on her gloves again. She turned back to plant the last of the seeds as Jesse snuck some cakes for herself before moving the soil bed further back to an empty corner. Jesse's question caused her turn and she saw the young shifter examining the pokeweed shrubs but not actually touching them, something that brought an unseen but approving smile to Mari's face. Her students knew better than to touch the plants here without a care, and with these plants, that was particularly important with these plants.
βI wouldn't eat them, no. They're the farthest things from edible,β Mari said as she joined Jesse, leaning against the tables as she turned her gaze onto the rather attractive berries. βThe whole plant is poisonous, from the roots, the leaves and stems, all the way to the berries. Too many animals and people think these berries look pretty and eat a few, only to fall sick and die.β A sigh escaped her, but it also had a tinge of admirationβa little inappropriate, she knew, but she couldn't help it; dangerous plants were her favourite. βThe berries are the least poisonous parts of the plants, but eating just a couple is still enough to kill a child so it's best to avoid eating the rest of the plant. It still makes a rather pretty ornament plant, very popular in gardens. Some people just don't know what's good for them, or their families,β she rolled her eyes, tilting her head down to address Jesse. That was most dangerous about these plants, people either didn't know about them or overestimated their abilities to keep themselves safe.

Jesse seriously hoped so, with the full year - and hopefully many more - still ahead of them there was plenty of time to get to know one-another and even perhaps become the best of friends? She hadn't been certain, but The Fennec Child might just have seen a fleeting sparkle the last time they went out...but only time would tell if she'd been imagining things...
At the mention of the entire plant being poisonous, she would be doubly glad that she hadn't stretched out her hand to touch it - the Fox even shifted a little further away from the plant, but looked to her tutor for reassurance just to be safe - the last thing Marisenn intended was to ever endanger her students by bringing in something that could kill them from touch alone... "But only if you eat it...right?" Although she'd not seen anyone do something like that before, her vivid imagination allowed her to at least ponder the outcome of what might happen if they did?
"I honestly thought the others might have arrived by now...?" it was nice having a solo-lesson with one of her favourite tutors, but surely the other students should have turned up by now? - they were missing out on learning so much! And with the poisonous plant sitting just inches away from her, Jesse could only hope that if her fellow classmates happened across something like that out in the wild, they would have the smarts not to eat without thinking it might just harm them...

This was a new day, so naturally the Fennec Child would have faced it with a grin and taken it head on, but with the disappearance of her Bun-bun-buddy Fidal and then to have her Shifter Lesson cancelled because a majority of Shifters had been called to Gannon's Office, Jesse just didn't have her usual sheen about her...
Remaining in her human form, the Fox took a slow walk down towards her Elective Class, sadly many a time this year this very lesson had to be cut short and although she had spent a good few hours in the Library the day before, she was starting to miss getting really quite involved, her classmates seemed to have dwindled as of late and the poor child was starting to wonder if she might just be the one scaring people away?
The fact she hadn't seen her roommate for what felt like forever was another thing - Jesse's Track Record with people to share her dorm with had been pretty bad, the first one had returned home to care for her family, the second one turned out to be allergic to her and then left, then there was Rin... She was really hopeful that this one might just become the best of friends with her - having not had the opportunity to share a room with another sharing her Raiment, but aside from that trip down to the Marketplace, she'd seen little more of the girl...
"Maybe I'm just down on my luck...?" her ears flopped, the Fennec Child heaved a sigh, then lifted her hand towards the door to the Botany Classroom, "Things can only get better though...right?" Not wanting anyone to think she was feeling down, especially not one of her favourite teachers, Jesse would gather herself, perking up her ears and pushing open the door with her usual grin.
"...Maybe she's in another part of the room?" although her grin faded a little, Jesse would tell herself that Marisenn perhaps had her head down and was busily preparing something quite wondrous for them to study? With this in mind, she would step inside, closing the door to the seemingly vacant classroom before finding her way to a seat and setting her bag down on the desk.

This was Erika's first day of her elective class, Botany. To her it would be exciting to start a new class and study something her raiment dealt with. That morning, she made her sure she was dressed appropriately and made sure she had her umbrella. Hopefully she came in at a good time so she wouldn't miss any classes, but if not then she could possibly make up for lost time.
Once she got there, she closed her umbrella and went inside the green house. "Looks like I'm really early."

Jesse's ears would perk up at the sound of the door opening and she would turn to watch as a new face stepped into the classroom - Having taken a slightly alternative route to the Botany Class, Jesse had avoided the worst of the rainfall which wouldn't have done any favours to her fur had she taken her usual run...but she would tilt her head as she watched the female close her umbrella before speaking aloud that she was early.
"No earlier than myself," she would beam, her tail swishing to and fro from where she sat at her desk, "Good morning to you!" Eager to give the impression she was friendly and approachable, the Fennec Child would turn fully in her seat before lifting her hand in a wave, "I'm guessing you're a new student here, right?" It was sort of an obvious question, but she had to start somewhere, "My name is Jesse,"
There was of course no telling what the female's Raiment was right off the bat, but the Fox could only hope that perhaps they might be able to become friends? As noted before, her luck with acquaintances wasn't all that successful as of late, but the Fennec Child wasn't going to let that get her too down - at least not yet.

Erika jerked toward the voice, thinking she was alone. It scared her honestly, but she sighed in relief and propped her umbrella by the entrance and finally smiled lightly. "Good morning. Yes, I am. I'm Erika Winchester, nice to meet you." She returned the wave. "Wait how long have you been here?"
She tried not to stare at the girl's ears and tail, but at one point it became obvious. Not wanting to be rude, she immediately turned her attention to the other's eyes instead, trying to pay attention when she answered her question.

Today seemed like a day like no other. The rainy weather, the gloomy look of the day, everything just seemed to be the type of weather conditions that Nanashi was into. As he would leap from tree top to tree top, Nanashi would feel the blowing winds on his face that would just boost his movements. It was like Nanashi was right at home. He can see the luscious plant life and vegetation growing from where he was. As he neared in, he spotted a window by the roof over the classroom where Nanashi can enter from. It's been a habit of his to enter from windows or roof tops lately.
