"So... is no one going to answer my question?" Thanya felt a little ignored, but she guessed it would come out sooner or later whether Fea was a shifter or just a wolf. She remembered hearing that Gin was once stuck in his wolf form for like a week, but if that was the case with Fea, she figured people would be making a bigger deal about it. Even if Fea was a shifter, she didn't seem to mind the way Thanya treated her, so in that she guessed it was fine.

Thanya would listen to Ven's lecture about instincts, but she wasn't sure what to do with that information. She had always been pretty good at tapping in to her binturong nature, perhaps a little too good. Following her instincts had gotten her into an awful lot of trouble. She found it better to temper it with some human reasoning.

For practice, Thanya would move over to Jace's side. "Good morning, Jace! I think a figured out something new. Watch this!" Thanya would close her eyes and scrunch her face up deep in concentration. After a minute or so she would reopen her eyes and they would appear as those of a snake. As she spoke, a narrow forked tongue would slip out of her mouth. "What do you think? Like this, I can detect heat of things as well. I feel like I'm really making some progressss!"

Ven was impressed with Thanya’s display of control as she shifted her face and features into that of a snake. Target control was very complicated and a hard skill to master, but it seemed that Thanya’s practice had paid off.

“Well done, Thanya. Shifting specific, targeting features is very challenging, but you seem to be getting the hang of it nicely. Also, I commend your effort to learn different types of shifting to support your fellow classmate.” He said with a warm smile and a wink.

Looking toward the wolf pup, Ven smiled a little bit. He could sense that the poor thing was a bit apprehensive of him, but that was to be expected – bears and wolves didn’t usually get along in the wild. Keeping an eye on her, he tried to give off the calmest vibes that he could.

After a time, he nodded a bit, his stomach grumbling, signaling the lunch hour and the end of the class. “Alright everyone, I want you all to think about the importance of instinct and how it helps you as a shifter. Keep practicing your individual shifting and if you have any questions, write them down and have them prepared for class. Next time we’ll be discussing the ways that shifters can sense when another shifter is near and how to distinguish shifters from regular animals when they are shifted. The rest of the day is yours.”

Looking over at Rin, he sighed a bit and gestured for her to come closer. “Rin, due to your lack of participation this class, I want you to write a full page on your thoughts regarding the lesson, due next class.” He said with a knowing look. He knew that she was a bit withdrawn by nature, but just because she was coming to class didn’t mean that she would get the credit. She needed to participate in order to gain her credit to graduate and if he had to give her extra work outside of class to make that happen, then so be it.

“I’ll see you all next class.” That being said, Ven took his leave for the day.

Gin looked to Fea and nodded a bit. ‘Yes, feel free to talk to anyone. Anyone who is in an animal form will be able to speak with you, like I am now.’ Gin clarified as he looked to Fea. He noticed that Rin and Jesse were in there shifted forms, so he nodded over at them. ‘Go on, go say ‘hello’ and introduce yourself…they wont bite, I promise.’ Even if they did, Gin would defend Fea, she was his responsibility after all…

Gin watched from afar, just observing and making sure that Fea was alright with her interactions with the other students. When Ven instructed the class and then dismissed them, he yawned a bit and stretched, glad that they had the rest of the day to do with as they pleased. He noticed how Ven gave Rin some extra work for outside of the class, but he didn’t blame him – Rin hadnt been interacting with anyone or participating in the class much, so she needed a bit of a push in his opinion…

Once Fea was finished with her interactions and ready to find Tala, Gin led her out. He hoped that she had enjoyed the shifter class and would want to come again on another Knit Class day – she couldn’t accompany Tala and this was better than being cooped up in a dorm room, but that choice was up to her. Once she was safely back with Tala, Gin headed home for the day.

Rin remained rather... Silent as the lesson went on. As much as she'd try, she found herself unable to properly focus on Vens teaching, the wary feeling gnawing in the back of her mind. For the most part she tried to avoid anything that would result in her speaking up in front of the others. Rin watched Thanya and Jace briefly until the sound of small feet approached her. Seeing Jesse shifted, Rin instinctively shifted in turn, listening and responding to the Fox's question. "...Classmate?" She'd ask, glancing to Fea. Rin had seen the animal before and unlike Jesse, was aware they weren't a Shifter. But considering Jesse's excited behaviour she kept quiet, not wanting to leave the roommate disappointed.

Aside from conversing with Jesse every now and then, Rin ended up taking little part yet again in class... She certainly did need to work on that. But then... All these people... She'd frown at the thought. For all she knows, one slip would make her a mockery to the rest. Well, turns out not getting involved resulted in that outcome anymore as the Professor was wrapping in class, then including a part for Rin in particular. He wanted her to write her thoughts on todays lesson. By this point Rin had returned to her human form, almost reacting on instinct. "W-wha? But I-" Biting her tongue, she knew that honestly it was her own fault. Rin sighed and hung her head. "...Yes, sir." By now she was in no mood to be around people and thus started heading out immediately, not even stopping to wait for Jesse as Rin would head to her Dorm room to start trying to work on her work.

Jace was unsure how to take the praise from his instructor as he had honestly not considered what was being mentioned to affect his shifting. He hadn't thought of his own repression with his family would have such an effect on the process, though now that he gave it thought it should have been something he considered. His instructor seemed to think the more he embraced this side rather after his shunning of it the easier it would become to actually shift. Jace had no clue if that would work, though it again made him think how much his mentality had changed since attending this school. How much it could yet change since he was still far off from finishing here. That was another strange thought to enter his mind. "Finishing... when did it become that." He thought to himself, as he reminded himself he only needed to fully shift to be re-accepted home. And now he was thinking of staying the full course... he brushed the thoughts from his head as Ven began the lesson. He could ponder that stuff later on. The lesson was on instincts, though Jace could not quite relate to that. He had never truly experienced such things in his life that he could remember, save for the instinct to run in the attack that felt so long ago. He would muse on it though, because it perhaps tied in with the mentality he needed to shift. 'How does a snake think?' He wondered to himself silently.

Ven would ask if anyone had questions, but it was then that Thanya was besides him as usual. Looking to her curiously as she greeted him then immediately desired to show him something, he would nod his head to her and remain silent to see what she had in store before returning the greetings. His eyes would widen slightly as a small smile graced his lips to see her eyes turn snake like and a forked tongue. She would ask what he thought and say she could detect heat of things. 'So one of the tricks I learned not so long ago.' He thought to himself. "Good morning to you as well. Wonderful progress Thanya, soon you'll be able to do all I can." He would say in a polite yet slightly happy tone. He was glad she was progressing so fast, if a little envious. She was his friend though, so he would not let envy spoil his happiness for her progress. Even Ven would congratulate her for it, which was nice of him. He was liking having him as a professor, even if he had been absent for so long. With that he would detail the lesson for next class, an interesting one of determining shifters in their animal form, and seem to assign Rin a paper for her lack of participation. Jace offered to help her, but she was in no mood given the response he got. Not seeing any point in further pursuing that route, he would merely say goodbye to everyone else for the day and head back to his dorm.

Thanya would grin at Jace as her tail swayed a bit side to side. "I knew you would be impressed. It's all thanks to your help training, Jace. I hope soon we'll be able to fully shift into snakes together."

Thanya would beam after being complimented by Vern and continue to enthusiastically practice her snake shifting. It was a lot harder than she made it look and she could only hold the shift for roughly a quarter of the time of her own natural form. By the end of class she was exhausted. Vern's next lesson sounded like it would be important so she was sure to make sure not to miss it--though, the only class she had missed so far was because she had gotten into trouble.

At the end of class, Thanya would say goodbyes and, feeling that Fea was indeed not a shifter she would give her a good scratch behind the ears before leaving class. With a yawn, Thanya realized how tired she was, so instead of heading back to her dorm she would find a nice large tree to climb and curl up in its branches to take a nap. After she woke up from her nap, it was supper and some late night reading with her light spell to finish out the day.

Jesse Randall (and Fea)
~ Shifter Classroom ~

User ImageUser Image

With Gin's nod towards interacting with the pair, Fea would glance across the room as Rin transformed to join Jesse in her Fennec Form. It didn't take the Wolf long to recognise the Husky from a past meeting and recall how, had Tala not drawn her away, they might have taken a moment to play... She advanced with this in mind and paused a short distance away from the pair, her head tilted enquiringly as she listened to them converse.

With Jesse's back to the Canine, it was a bit of a shock for the little Shifter to turn and see a creature that was not Gin, or Rin standing behind her, "Wow, you're huge" that comment slipped out before her 'insult-stopper' came into play, but her large ears would flick backwards as she hoped Fea wouldn't take offense to the words...

"And you're tiny." Flicking an ear out to the side, Fea wasn't sure her reason for her choice of words, but let it slide, glancing towards Rin with a grin before looking back at the Fox and adopting a play bow, "Wanna Play?"

"It's a little cramped in here to play..." Although she'd have loved a good run around, the classroom wasn't necessarily the best place to do it, what with all the desks around, "Maybe if we're allowed outside sometime...How about we practice shifting?" She would look at Rin at this moment, then back at Fea,

"I haven't learnt how to do that yet, but maybe one day?" The Wolf wasn't aware that as an Animal, her abilities may not work the same way as it would for Non-Animals, but as she was still young, she still had hope. "Maybe I can watch you guys practice instead?"

Jesse seemed fine with that suggestion and began to work on trying to blend her spots so they weren't so obvious anymore, she spoke to Rin on occasion - mostly to ask her Roommate if anything had changed, Fea would also observe with great interest before turning to look as Ven announced their homework for the next lesson - giving the Husky a little something extra to remind her practice and interaction was important...

Fea would watch as the Husky returned to her human appearance, noting how she hung her head when she realised she would have extra homework for not participating - The Wolf felt a little bad for her friend as She Herself didn't appear to need any homework...besides the fact that writing with Paws wasn't necessarily the easiest thing...

Jesse also felt bad for her roommate, shooting Fea a sweet smile before also returning to her human form at the end of lesson... "Hey Rin...! Wait up!" She hadn't expected her fellow Shifter to leave without waiting for her, but made sure to give her farewells to Fea and the others before rushing off after her friend.

Although Jace was a good friend of Tala's, Fea made a point to perhaps interact with the male the next time she attended the lesson, there was no way she was going to leave without approaching the Binturong Shifter again - With Tala not around, she was starting to realise she could actually meet people, so as the little Shifter made her way over, the Wolf would wag her tail in greeting before enjoying a good scratch behind the ears.

As the class began to file out, Fea would return to Gin's side, thanking him for being there before following him out as he then accompanied her towards the Diviner Class where Tala would hopefully be finishing.
