Jace had entered the library and made sure to note he was returning the books near the front. He was one to do things by the book a lot of the time... except for pranks, but those were the exception. Once done, he would place the books back where they belonged himself. It was the least he could do when it came to books that were proving to be of great help to him. He cared for his books as well, ensuring that no to minimal damage would ever be done to them. It was also why he went for the hard back books as those were much harder to damage in his opinion. Once he had placed them back, his gaze would travel this section of the library. It had coincided where he needed to gather books regardless, so there had been no reason to not return them himself. Eyes traveling about, they would settle on a book dedicated solely to Anaconda's. Taking it out, he would check its length in terms of font size, number of pages, and number of pages relevant to what he desired. Finding it to be a hefty enough volume he would not seek out another. He didn't want to take many books from the library at a time after all. Satisfied with his selection, he would carry it in his hands to the front and fill out the requisite form to take a book from the library. It was a very detailed form, which was understandable as they desired to know who took books so if it were not returned they could seek them out. He filled out as well, as a side note, that it would be returned in a week. Not something strictly necessary, but something he felt he should do nonetheless. The book may not last an entire week, and even if it went past it, he could always rent it again. Happy, he would place it in his satchel and leave the library to head to the gardens to meet with Tala.

The last two months had been blissful for Elijah. He and Ezra were busy working on planning their wedding and he couldn’t have been happier. Even while he worked, Elijah found himself looking at his engagement ring and thinking about his future with Ezra. It was so amazing to think that in a few short weeks they would be wed. The very idea of it all gave him warm butterflies of excitement. Humming lightly while Elijah flitted around his library, placing books on the shelves and reorganizing as he needed, he couldn’t have been happier.

There was so much to do to prepare, but he and Ezra were handling it all with relative ease. They’d already commissioned their wedding attire from Leonora at the Floating Lotus and they’d commissioned their wedding bands from the local jeweler as well. They had decided to hold the small ceremony in the comfort of their home and were planning on having the ceremony once the flowers really started o bloom and the weather was a little warmer. They wanted to hold the reception outside and they’d need much warmer weather so everyone could be comfortable.

In any case, Elijah was just happy to be engaged to the love of his life…Things were so blissful, he had no indication that anything could darken his mood or his future with his beloved…

~ Catherine entered on New Day ~

Deciding a change of scene would help with her writing, Rin was up reasonably early and had made her way to the Library. A seemingly infinite supply of books, ranging largely between genre and age. Admittedly not somewhere she's too fond of being in, having not really found TOO much interest in reading a load of scribbles on a couple sheets of paper, the Shifter girl knew she would have to just make do for today. "...Not fair." She'd mutter, taking a seat at a table near the back of the Library in homes to cover herself from any others that would happen to drop by. With a blank page in front of her, Rin let a low sigh loose before holding her hand to her head. "What even was it..." She'd spend the next couple of minutes at least trying to jog her memory. Guess this is what happens when she doesn't focus when she's supposed to...

Most of what she'd manage to write felt... Vague. Part of Rin wanted to find Ven and admit she was at a loss, but... "No way." Her temper rose a touch as the thought. Why though... Why was even thinking about the idea so... So... Infuriating? She'd been living with Gia, Ven and her brother for a few months now. So how much longer must Rin feel this unease around the bear Shifter before her instincts decided it was okay? Better yet, would they ever decide that? Rin groaned and held her head down on the table with her arms crossed, her face covered before maintaining the position for a noticable period of time in an attempt to escape the world around her.

After his father gave him the okay, Estarossa would quickly disembark the ship and head into town. After spending most of his time in the bars and motels getting to know the locals. Waking up in the bed of a few strangers Estarossa would stretch, slide back into his clothes and left the room. It was bright and early and he had decided he'd go investigate the school now. After all, that would be where his peers would be. Taking a carriage to the grounds he would hop out near the gates and walk the grounds. After a while of quiet walking and taking in the sights, Estarossa found himself upon a building, judging by the name on the front, it would be the library. He loved books! Surely this place would have a fine selection, considering the sheer size. Walking in he would walk around in silence just looking from here to there. His crimson iris's scanning the room slowly.

Upon entering the back area of the library his ruby eyes landed on a single soul buried in frustration. Delightful. Observing her for a moment he could tell she was irritated about something. Perhaps it was the book she had picked? Or maybe the mostly blank paper before her. Regardless of the actual reason for her frustration, Estarossa would be happy to alleviate that stress for her. Walking around her table as silent as a cat he would arrive behind her, a respectable distance between the two of them as to not touch her or disturb her. Looking at her paper he would smirk, it would seem she was trying to write something. Perhaps she was a writer? Moving more to her right he would speak. " Having difficulty with your paper? " He would say quietly, his hushed voice was low, almost like a purr. He had made sure that there was enough room between them that should she react physically, he wouldn't be in harm's way.

Everything else is just and illusion.

After spending the better part of the day removing the books from the botanical section, rearranging them and then re-shelving them in the order that he preferred, Elijah checked the list of checked out/in books. Doing a scan of the vast library with his Raiment, he verified that the list was in fact, correct, before replacing the list back on the front desk of the library.

Lately, he hadn’t had very many students to chat with – which was both a blessing and a curse. Less students meant that it was quiet, and Elijah could do his work without distraction. But less students also meant less company and that saddened him a bit. It was with a bittersweet feeling that Elijah left the Grand Library at the end of the day to head home to his beloved…Maybe a hot bath and a warm meal would perk him up, not to mention some kisses from his fiancé…

[ - Exit Elijah for the Knit Class RP Day - ]

[ - Begin New Interaction for New RP Day - ]

It was with a spring in his step that Elijah entered the Academy that morning. He’d woken up in an optimistic mood – sleeping in the arms of his beloved was the cure to any foulness of mood he might experience. The hot bath and the breakfast that followed only further improved his morning and made him smile all the more. After kissing Ezra goodbye and leaving for the Academy, Elijah’s mind had become absorbed with his tasks for the day.

Elijah had been so focused on those tasks, that even as he stepped into the Grand Library, he didn’t immediately notice Rin, the feisty shifter girl who was his Best Friend's adoptive daughter, and the other student - ? – of which he’d never met. “Theres the literature on Celebrars that Ezra needs for his next lesson and the books that Gannon needs for the report to the Lord Marshall…” Elijah said out loud, deep in thought as he walked past the front desk, his gaze slightly unfocused as he navigated the room by instinct – this place was practically his home and he could navigate it with his eyes closed – thus he had no need to actually look where he was going.

As he headed toward the far side of the library, seemingly toward the students, he looked down at his forearm where elegant script shifted and revealed writing that hadn't been there previously – it was the list of books he’d mentioned out loud being written into his skin to remind him not to forget. “Mmmm, yes, yes! I think I ha-.” Elijah’s commentary to himself stopped as he looked up and saw the pair. Blinking in surprise, he smiled, genuinely happy to see students – both new and old – in the library.

“Well good morning to you both! I hope I'm not interrupting…?” It looked like a tutoring session of some kind, although the scraps of paper had scribbles on them that had been scratched out. Frowning a little, Elijah held his hand toward the paper and in a matter of a few moments, the scribbled ink that had been scratching into the paper began to shift and move to the top of the page. It spiraled into an elegant design of the academy’s crest, adorning the parchment beautifully. “Ah, that’s better…now you can use those pages without worry, Rin.” Elijah said with a wink before looking to her companion.

“I do not believe I have had the pleasure of meeting you. I am Elijah, the Head Librarian.” Elijah said with a short bow, some of his long silver-white hair slipping over his shoulder as he did so. As he straightened, he placed his hands at the small of his back. The ink on his neck and upper chest shifted, the designs changing subtly as he stood there.

In the middle of her little internal meltdown, the sound of a hushed, male voice beside her would stir Rin from her own thoughts. "What's it to y-" Rin was a second away from raising her voice, mostly out of instinct. But when she'd pull herself from her arms and turn to the source of the voice Catherine stopped herself. "...Um." Her frustrated expression softened a little. She did not recognise the guy. If her hunch was correct and this guy was new, it's more likely she'll just get in trouble if she were to scare off a new guy by snapping at them on their first day. But at the same time, she still was not in the best of moods to deal with people. This lift the Shifter conflicted. Her ears folded down as she stared at the guy cautiously, gauging what she should do. "You're... New... Right? Rin eventually asked, pausing to think of her words a little more carefully.

It was then that another face was making their way over, this time one she vaguely knew of. The guy was the Head Librarian... Um... "Ellia," "Elya," something like that... Then again she didn't really frequent this place so there was not really much interaction between her and the Librarian. To her surprise he seemed to motion his hand over the messed up sheet Rin had be scribbling on. The result was said scribbles sliding up the page and shifting into the shape of the Academy crest, neatly position in the middle of the top of the sheet. Rin blinked and looked at the symbol for a moment. "Oh, um... Thank you..." She was about to try and go along with her guess regarding his name up until he was talking to the mysterious boy. Elijah. So that was it. Guess since introductions are occuring, Rin sat up a little straighter and crossed her arms against her chest, speaking though avoided eye contact. "...Catherine. In case you were wondering." Getting back to her task, the girl went quiet as she'd begin trying to write again, though slower than before as she'd attempt to avoid scribbling out more mistakes.

Watching the girl look at him both irritated and confused was what he was looking for. This sort of game delighted Estarossa to no end. Because that's what social interaction was, a game. A game to see how one responded to another's presence. Would it be a good reaction, a bad one? It was always a guessing game. One he loved to play. Seeing her ears fold down he smirked. A Shifter, from what he knew of shifters, they were rather interesting people. Mostly instinctual, but some proved more often than not to be more than that. While others preferred being more animal than human. Though Estarossa couldn't speak on either behalf as he himself was not a Shifter. No, he was something else. But he enjoyed dealing with Shifter, they were complex individuals with strong emotions. He supposed being part animal would have that sort of effect on them. When she finally spoke a full sentence to him he would smile wide, his pearly white teeth exposing themselves. How could he not grin happily at her words? She thought he was a student! This would prove most enjoyable. "New?" Estarossa would tilt his head and look away from her as if thinking over how to respond. Looking back to her smiling wide he would continue. " Yes. Yes, I am...new. " He would say his tone still velvety smooth. Though his words would more than likely come off as ominous.

However, before she would get a chance to respond to him. An older man would approach the two and address them. A fair gesture seeing as he was older than them, and it was in fact morning. But as he continued the man would flex his raiment and fix his new friends paper. It certainly did look much better. Looking back to the older man Estarossa would take in his appearance. He had long silver hair, something he had not seen much of. But he wore it well. Very tall, and lean. The man was a near perfect specimen. Estarossa felt as if he was standing in the presence of art. The man was...exquisite. The smile on his face never faltered and finally, the silver-haired masterpiece would speak his name. Elijah, the Head Librarian. It wouldn't take but a moment for his new friend to speak up and introduce herself as well. Catherine, such a pretty name for one so grumpy and irritated. Perhaps this was an off day for her. But regardless of her mood, he was absolutely delighted to have their names, and Estarossa would make it a point to try and speak more...closely with the man, Elijah at a later time. But for now, he needed to respond. " I could not say if we were interrupted, as I am unsure what my friend here is currently doing. But I am Estarossa, and you wouldn't have had the pleasure as I am...new. " He would say bowing back in return, his dark hair shifting as he moved. " Though I will assure you. The pleasure is mine. For you two, are among the first few people I have met since I have arrived. " Estarossa stood with his arms crossed very loosely over his stomach. Looking from Elijah to Catherine, he would raise a hand and run it through his hair, pulling it out of his face and as he did so, exposing his crimson irises for a moment. " So, Catherine, what is it you're working on here? And perhaps, maybe I can be of assistance? " He would ask leaning slightly over the table to look at her while remaining a respectful distance apart.

“Estarossa, what a lovely and unique name.” Elijah said with his usual calm and friendly air. Looking to the young man and to Catherine, he nodded a bit. It seemed that Ven had given her some kind of an assignment – Rin didn’t have any other classes as far as he was aware, and she’d be in it if that were the case - so that left only his best friend to give her the task. Looking between the two, he gave them both a warm smile. It was nice to see students interacting with one another and making friends. Estarossa’s offer to help Rin made him smile more and he gave them a small nod.

“I do not wish to disturb either of you. Please let me know if you need any specific reading materials for your assignment.” That being said, he gave them both a bow and headed past them to examine the shelves of books. It took him a moment to remember why he had come to this end of the library in the first place. Humming lightly to himself, he grabbed the various books that he needed and carried them in his arms past the desk that Catherine and Estarossa occupied and back over to the main front desk that was his. Placing the books down, he filled out his check out log to ensure that he kept an accurate record of who he was giving the books to.

Estarossa. Certainly not a name she hears very often. Rin kept her ruby gaze set on the boy for a moment from the corner of her field of view, her head still turned towards the paper. First impressions? He was a little... Odd. From her point of view at least. The way he emphasised he was "new" was a tiny bit weird at least. But perhaps she was overthinking it... During her lowkey observing, Elijah was leaving shortly after the boy seemed to ask about her task as well as offer some aid. "Uh..." Rin sat up again and turned to face him properly, raising her eyebrow. "Well... I mean..." Her eyes scanned him up and down a few times. He can't be a Shifter... Surely she'd notice something if that were the case. With a sigh the girl continued. "...I guess?" Catherine hesitated with her answer. On one hand, somebody who doesn't understand what it's like to be a Shifter would more likely irritate her from trying to give advice. But at the same time, again, scaring off a new student and all. Gonna be difficult though. She already was not in the best of moods, hopefully he doesn't get on her nerves MUCH...

After a moment, she'd start to talk... A bit. "...I gotta write about instincts. Animal instincts." The girl held back on the part about her thoughts regarding the lesson, last thing she wanted was a stranger asking "how she felt" or something sappy like that. It would be different if it were someone else... Like a fox... ...!! Rins face went a slight shade of pink, she'd snap herself out of her thoughts, quickly smacking her own cheeks a few times and shaking her head. "Um, ok... So..." She started to scowl, why was she feeling flustered all of a sudden... It certainly wasn't the new guy. She doesn't take interest in ANYBODY that quickly. Rin let loose a quick growl of frustration. "Ugh! What are you anyway?" The girl attempted to hurry through to another topic, hopefully to distract herself at this point. "...You're definitely no Shifter. So... What's your thing?"

The girl was interesting, to say the least. Though she did seem distracted to say the least. She was writing about animal instincts huh? That sure was a broad topic. Thinking about it as she went on her own little adventure Estarossa would bring his hand to his chin and ponder a moment. His thought process halted by the sound of her grunting and asking him a rather odd question. ' What are you anyway? ' Well, he'd certainly been asked sillier questions. As she continued he would raise his eyebrow slightly. So that's what she meant, what was his thing? Well, that was a bit complicated to answer. Curious he would respond his tone unchanging. " Well, does one need to be a shifter to converse about the nature of animal instincts? I would imagine not. Despite my lack of animal counterpart, I too am also still an animal you know. A man is still a type of animal in and of itself. " He would respond matter of factly. But moving on to her question.

" I digress. To answer your question Catherine, I am a Celebrar. My raiment is sort of a tricky thing. I call it word of power, to keep things short and simple, I say certain command words, and those who are targeted are made to perform the command. " He would say very openly. Of course, this was a lie. But no one would know that seeing as he wasn't an actual student here. But it wasn't all a lie, the lie he told was partially true. In fact, the raiment he made up was very close to what he actually did. But again, she didn't need to know all that. Not yet anyway. Smiling at his new friend he would speak once more. " Does this answer suffice? If I may, I would like to ask you a question or two. What breed of Shifter are you and the topic of instincts is very broad, were you given something more specific to write about regarding instincts or was that pretty much it? " He would ask as he turned and leaned against the table with his arms once more folded over his stomach. His crimson eyes watching her closely, his sly smirk still spread across his face.

The Shifter girl was growing increasingly conflicted as to what emotion she's supposed to be feel at this moment in time, what with the task from Ven, this guy giving off some smartass vibes and other distractions in the back of her mind... But one thing she was certain about, this guy was weird. And mildly annoying. "I too am also still an animal." Rins ears folded down, more so out of irritation than sorrow or regret. But part of her wonder if she should be feeling those too, having allowed this guy to "help." Humans may still be mammals, but Shifters are still going to possible aspects of different animals entirely, hence their seperate classes. Well, that and of course being a different Knit. Needless to say the girl was a few seconds away from exploding before the boy got to the part about his raiment.

A Celebrar. Great... Catherine could only question her chances of encountering one of them. As far as the Husky was concerned they were just flat out dangerous, end of story. And just listening to him merely proved the point. Command people to forcibly perform actions. How does she know he wouldn't use it on her at any point? By now she was growing less annoyed by the boy and more wary. Soon after describing his Raiment, he was returning the question about hers. "...Dog. If you must know specifically, I'm a Husky Shifter." Cutting herself short, his other question regarding her task had something click in her head. "...Know what, it doesn't matter. You'd need to have been in the class." Her tone came off a little colder now. Part of her was just wanting to leave and work on it privately at this stage. Though she felt the least she had to do was not just walk off, so would try to wait for a chance to excuse herself. Until then she'll have to try to tolerate the Celebrar.

Estarossa's new friend was getting upset. This much was easy to tell. Perhaps it was his sass that tipped her over the edge, maybe she didn't like his raiment. But one thing was clear from her body language alone she was done. Running a hand through his hair he would sigh. Were all of the kids here this high strung? If they were he was surely going to be bored. Shaking his head he would do his best to salvage the situation " A Husky, is it? That is certainly a beautiful form to take on. But judging by your body language, I'd say I've overstayed my welcome. " He would say his tone smooth, calm. Truthfully Estarossa wasn't bothered by her behavior, slightly perturbed maybe. Boring, high strung people had that effect on him. No, he wouldn't think badly of her. After all, he was intruding in the first place. In his own game he would strike out and that was fine. There were many other games to be had.

Moving around to the other side of the table, Estarossa would speak once more. " Catherine, allow me to extend my sincerest apologies. You see, I was merely attempting to joke with you. But seeing as we don't know the first thing about one another, my humor fell flat. I'm also quite new to this area, having just arrived yesterday and are not quite sure how to interact with the people here. The culture is a bit different than what I am used too. " Chuckling lightly to himself he continued. " So, I will take my leave and you'll be free to go back to your assignment. Enjoy the rest of your day Catherine. " With a graceful bow to his new friend Estarossa would turn casually on his heels and begin to leave the area.

Everything else is just and illusion.

Although Elijah was absorbed in his work – literally, since he used his raiment for a lot of what he did – he wasn’t oblivious enough not to sense the tension coming from the other side of the room. Sighing a little, he shook his head. It was hard to tell whether Rin was just in a grumpy mood – she really took after her brother – or if the newer student had said or done something to cause the tension between them. In any case, Elijah kept an eye on the two as he went about his business.

Eventually, Rin excused herself from the library, taking her nearly empty scrolls with her. He hoped that she was able to complete her assignment for class, Ven wouldn’t be very happy if she didn’t. Turning his attention to Estarossa, he offered the young man a friendly, warm smile. “It was nice to meet you, Estarossa. I hope you have a wonderful day and be sure to carry an umbrella with you. Come back to visit anytime.”

Giving the young man a small bow of his head, Elijah turned his attention back to his tasks. Eventually, he left to deliver the necessary books to Gannon’s office as well as Ezra’s. He made a few other stops along the way before returning back to the library to make sure all was well before he left for the day. Elijah truly enjoyed his profession and hoped that the students and staff appreciated his library and all that laid within…

It appeared the boy had started to pick up on her frustrations as it did not take long for him to dismiss himself, standing and facing her once more to apologise. Stating he was joking for the most part before taking off. Part of the girl wanted to feel bad, but he WAS a Celebraer. The Shifter was not too keen on the idea of being nearly somebody so potentially dangerous. "...Right." Was her only response. She'd linger in the Library for a little while longer before picking up her things and walking out. Rin decided it best to return to her Dorm for the day and focus in peace... Plus it meant the only person that could enter and bother her would be one she tolerates.

It had been a long while since Patrick had found himself so engrossed in a book - Sure he had decided to try and learn a little more about tutoring students when he was assisting with the Music Class...not that it had gotten him very far, but that for the time, such past concerns were behind him.

As he had settled himself down to sleep that night, Patrick's Green eyes had danced eagerly across the pages, drinking in not only the words, but the beautiful illustrations that boardered its edges...Elijah certainly knew which books to choose and Patrick was almost certain that the man wouldn't have let the book go before taking in its guidance for himself. Branwen had perched herself in her usual spot, having cleared up the remaining rolled oats from a few days before - occasionally the Diviner's eyes would rise from the tome, taking in the sight of the bird as she fluffed herself up to sleep before drifting back to to the pages.

It had been some time since he'd truly taken the time to walk the forests for himself - it didn't help that one particular location was off-limits, but there were other locations, right? In his dreams, the Diviner could choose to travel to any forest almost every night, but in his waking hours it became apparent just how long he'd remained within holed up inside the Academy, withdrawing into himself and becoming increasingly lonely with each opportunity he put off...

The Forests themselves were naturally healing and he knew from his past that a walk in such a location could calm him greatly - to breathe in the vast array of scents as he walked, to sit and listen to the sounds of not only the wildlife, but the surrounding environment itself - picking out the sound of small rivers and streams that flowed somewhere off in the distance... He didn't quite reach the chapter where it started to speak of the magics that could be found there, but the Diviner felt it best to leave that next part to inspire his dreams the following evening...

He of course awoke with the book still in his hands, having propped himself up against his pillows beside the light of the candle which had become snuffed out by the cool, refreshing air at some point during the night...

Ensuring that the tome found its way safely onto his desk where it wouldn't be mislaid, Patrick would wash and dress for the day, putting on a favourite attire before calling his ever-present companion to his side and heading for the door. He felt a sense of excitement today - there was obviously no telling what the day held in store for him, perhaps some sorting of the returns - or even some keeping of the tomes themselves - but having met with a certain Librarian the day before, he was eager to find out.

With another Free Day on the cards for the Academy's young residents - allowing the lucky few ample time to prepare themselves for Graduation - Patrick would make his way through corridors normally packed with students making their way towards what would have perhaps been a Knit Class? He shrugged off the thought, not really having kept track of the days since he'd last attended Diviner Class... It was hard to think he'd already been a Graduate himself for a year...?

As the doors of the Grand Library came into view, Patrick would take a second to ensure he was relatively presentable - not that he really needed to - before extending a hand and letting himself inside.

The familiar scent of delicately aging tomes thrilled his senses and he breathed it in deeply, having missed the aroma in his absence before opening his eyes - which he had initially closed during his inhale - and looking out across the expanse that lay before him.

"Anybody home?" although he spoke with a tempered voice, his words still resounded all around him - so much that as Branwen took flight - perhaps to take a look around? The sound of her own wings echoed like a hush all around him...
