Valorian Noble || Daravin Jacque’don Kuevaal
[Where:] Library [With:] Elijah, Philia and Patrick [Feeling:] Relaxed [Outfit:] As seen
[OOC:]
╔═══════════════════

Daravin hadn’t felt this relaxed in ages. He couldn’t remember the last time he had been in such pleasant and hospitable company. Well usually, there was so many pressing thoughts and concerns pestering him, the moment Daravin sat down and started drinking tea, he felt more at home here in this library than he did back home. He almost didn’t want to leave, he had been so stressed as of late, he didn’t want this feeling of relaxation to end.

Elijah drew the noble’s attention as the librarian had actually gone out of his way to invite them all around to dinner at his home with his beloved. Daravin’s soft smile remained as he replier, “If my schedule allows for it, I would love to join you, Mr. Isaacs.” It was true that he had come to Eoana due to being summoned. However, that business was not to be discussed openly. Regardless, he would definitely enjoy spending some more time with Elijah, he certainly would love to talk more on history and other fields of study with the man. Of course, he’d like to talk with him on other things, such as hobbies. In truth, Elijah was just the kind of person Daravin longed to commune with. So, if the circumstances allowed it, he would of course join Elijah for dinner.

Taking another sip of tea, Daravin looked across at the raven up to it’s antics again, and he couldn’t help but chuckle, “I must say Patrick, your avian friend here is quite the intelligent little thing, isn’t she?” he paused, taking another sip before continuing, “I do so love birds. Unfortunately, I did get a little carried away in my youth. I may as well have a personal aviary back home, I have that many of them flying around.” he stated with a light, warm-hearted chuckle. He did miss his birds back in Valor. He could only hope his servants were taking good care of them.

Carrying his silver eyes over to Philia, who was still buried in her books, he couldn’t help but give her a kind smile. He had to admit, he liked her enthusiasm. He did want to inquire as to why she was so curious about Valorian nobility…but at the same time, he did hate to break someone’s focus. After all, who was he to intrude on the pursuit of knowledge. Hence, he simply sat back and sipped more of his tea.

Cloud of Mist

╒═════════════════ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═

[~ @Philia / Daravin ~]

In the comfort of the Grand Library, as those gathered continued to speak and enjoy each other’s company, the air would suddenly get very heavy as black mist like particles started to form a large mist cloud centered first on Philia, and then again on Daravin. The air got thick with magical energy, and a strong gust of wind started to blow all about them, pushing everything and everyone else away from them as the mist cloud grew and grew until it completely covered each of them from head to toe, spinning about like a small tornado consuming them entirely. The winds continued pushing the air around them away, keeping anything and anyone else from getting close, all the while blowing books and pages and paper and scrolls all about, making a giant mess of the Library. Just a moment later, the instant the mist completely covered them both, it dissipated and disappeared, leaving nothing behind but slowly falling documents, nothing else, nothing more, nothing at all…

"Oh, a lot more than she lets on, that's for sure!" Patrick would smile and nod, quite inspired as Daravin went on to say how much he loved Birds and that he had even gotten a little carried away in his younger years - not that he seemed many years older than the young Diviner himself. The icing on that cake was to hear the man even had an aviary back home - Patrick couldn't begin to imagine quite how many birds the Noble must possess, but it must be a wonderful experience to witness? And all the birdsong...! "I haven't really had the opportunity to keep more than one bird, but it must be fantastic to..."

Patrick's voice would suddenly trail off as an increase of pressure around them furrowed the youth's brow and his head began to twinge ever-so-slightly, lifting a hand to squeeze the bridge of his nose he would wince before opening his eyes as Branwen gave a squawk of surprise...? Without warning, she would launch herself across the table towards him as a mist which had seemingly emerged from nowhere sent many of the table's contents sliding off in all directions...

The second his chair started to move away from the pair who had been sitting nearby, Patrick would leap to his feet - his hands grasping for the Raven and drawing her close to his chest as he braced himself against the gale... "What's...Happening?!" The Library was the last place one would expect Shenanigans and as he narrowed his eyes, trying hard to locate on the source, Patrick was unable to see anything but a black, swirling mass which seemed to be growing ever larger...

As his boots started to lose grip, Diviner would cast a brief glance around the mass of swirling literature for the Librarian - hoping Elijah had taken cover - before the traction on his footwear finally gave and he was sent flying away from the dark cloud which only seemed to grow stronger and more violent... There was no telling what he hit, but Patrick would become lost in a flurry of papers and scrolls before the gale suddenly dispersed as though it had been snuffed out like a candle... Everything that had been sucked skyward now fell all about the room as the mist left as swiftly as it had come...

The Diviner's protective grip of the Raven had weakened upon impact with what must have been a bookcase or something, but as the winds dissipated, Branwen would squirm her way up towards the light, emerging from Patrick's jacket before glancing around the devastation which now surrounded them...

"How?" The Raven's voice came out as more of a 'Caw' but she couldn't have been more confused by what had happened... Tilting her head, she would watch as a few stray papers drifted down from where they had circled the ceiling before turning to look for movement amongst the wreckage that had once been the meticulously-tended Grand Library...

Elijah smiled at Daravin, glad to know that he would have some company tonight if the Noble’s schedule allowed for it. Any company was good company in Elijah’s book. Sipping his tea, he happily nibbled on a honey biscuit and looked to Patrick and Daravin inquired about Branwen and her intelligence. Surely the Raven was unique amongst her species, at least in Elijah’s mind. He’d never seen another to rival her – in appearance or manners.

As the two spoke, a strange feeling of pressure seemed to fill the room. Or was it just in his own head? Blinking in surprise, Elijah frowned a bit, shaking his head. Perhaps he was getting sick…? Distracted by the idea, Elijah missed the moment the mist initially began to form, but he felt it’s presence as gusts of wind began to blow all around them. Startled, Elijah’s teacup was tipped toward his chest, its contests spilling all over him. “Goodness!” He gasped; the cup blown from his hand only to shatter on the floor of the library. Looking up in surprise, his hair whipping about him, Elijah witnessed the most bizarre phenomena even as his chair was blown back, sliding along the floor away from the table.

Philia and Daravin were being immersed in a dark mist that seemed to swallow them whole! It was like a raging storm devouring everything in its wake… Gaze narrowed, Elijah raised his arms and tried to block the wind and papers as they flew about the room. It was as if a hurricane were contained inside the room! It was both fascinating and terrifying all at once.

Just as quickly as it began the ‘storm’ began to subside. For a moment, Elijah thought it was some cruel joke – someone using their raiment to create mischief. But once he realized that Philia and Daravin were gone, he felt a chill run up his spine. It seemed that that ‘storm’ had had more sinister intentions… Branwen’s one word of question held a lot of weight. Wind blow and confused, Elijah looked to Patrick and Branwen. Moving from his chair, he helped the lad to his feet. “Are you two alright?” He breathed, not entirely sure what to make of all of this…

A little winded from the impact, Elijah's assistance in getting back to his feet was gratefully received and Patrick would take a moment to glance around the dishevelled Library before turning to meet his fellow Diviner's gaze... "I'm alright, thanks," the male's attention would drift to Branwen now as she proceeded to clamber her way up onto his shoulder where she would lean into his hand as he lifted it to pet her, "but the others...?" he was shocked to see that Daravin and Philia had disappeared, "What the heck happened just now?"

Whatever the cause of the black mist, it had been strong enough to uproot the male and send him sailing across the room... He looked the Librarian over briefly, hoping the man was alright before Branwen finally broke her own silence, the Raven's gaze taking in the sight of the room and no doubt noting the lack of a few visitors who had been with them only moments beforehand... "...Black Magic." she grumbled, ruffling up her feathers before turning to try and preen things back into place...

"We don't know that Bran..." He didn't want to jump to conclusions, yet he couldn't help but recall how a certain Elementor also had the ability to create dark shapes and such...Not that Tala would do something as destructive as wreck the Library and then spirit away a couple of its guests...right? Patrick hadn't exactly seen much of the male to know how advanced his Raiment might have become, but with the mess it had caused it wasn't something he could easily discount... "Are you alright?" he would look back at Elijah now, then once again return his gaze to their surroundings, "...This is going to take ages to clean up..." He wasn't unprepared to help, but with a Nobleman and a Tutor seeming to have been swept up by such a strange source of power, surely their disappearance took precedence over a lengthy tidy-up...?

This situation was unlike any that he’d ever been in before. He’d never witnessed people disappearing into thin air like that. Granted, they hadn’t just vanished, it was almost as if they’d been taken, which made Elijah very uneasy. Nodding at Patrick’s inquiry, he looked around his precious library and frowned deeply. He hated seeing things in such a state of disarray, but he knew that the clean-up would have to wait until later.

“As much as I wish to clean all of this up immediately, the disappearance of Professor Maksimov and Lord Kuevaal is a much more pressing matter. We should find Gannon as quickly as possible and report this to him.” Was it possible that the reports of missing people and the sudden disappearance of Philia and Daravin were linked? Was that how people were being taken? And if so, who was targeting them and why? All very pressing questions, of which needed answers.

b]“Come, Patrick…lets head to the Headmaster’s Office as quickly as we can to report what we’ve seen. I have a feeling that we’ll be needing to speak to the City Guards and possibly even the Lord Marshal as well – Lord Kuevaal was a Noble from Valor after all…” With his heart heavy and a frown on his face, Elijah led the way out of his now very messy library and down the hall toward Gannon’s Office…Hopefully the Headmaster was on campus.

Patrick couldn't begin to think how devastated Elijah must be feeling inside, what with the Library having been left in such a mess after quite the startling incident... Alright, everything around them appeared to be repairable...mostly, but to put it all back in order was going to take a very long time and a Lot of work... Patrick of course didn't mind aiding the man, he had all the time in the world when people weren't disappearing in mysterious circumstances, but what mattered most was quickly voiced and knowing that it deserved Gannon's immediate attention, Patrick would nod in agreement to the Librarian's suggestion before following him as he led the way out of what was left of the Library...

"Such a shame..." Branwen remained perched upon the Diviner's shoulder as Patrick stepped ever so carefully on the patches of ground not covered by papers and pages... Turning her head as they reached the Grand Doorway, she recalled how one of the male's Aunts would surely have fainted at the sight - being one who loved and respected All books - before cursing whomever had caused such destruction...
