Kayl Ardrus De'Valaer
Sylrenya Duskwing

Probability || 100% Inevitable
...

                              ╔═══════════════════

With his eyes wide, and his body now perched up at at the introduction on stage, Kayl sat up straight and looked towards the stage as Gannon handed it off to the new Court Mage. After a few words of greeting, he repeated his full name to the audience, and Kayl's eyes widened further in confusion. He tilted his head slightly and started to question what he was hearing, 'Rhysian? Rhysian Fuerlain De'Valaer... De'Valaer? Of house De'Valaer!?!?... Impossible!' Kayl thought to himself as his eyebrows pressed together further forming an even more confounded look upon his face. 'What?!' He thought once more before shaking his head and looking back up at the man with a look of disbelief. What was this man getting at, what was his game?

It took Kayl another minute to recoup his thoughts as Rhysian continued with his speech, but the more he thought about it the more agitated he started to become. 'No, this is strange... there is no 'Rhysian' of House De'Valaer' he thought to himself as he suddenly stood up, his body moving on its own now. Sylrenya, softly launched into the air by Kayl's suddenly shift as he stood which gave her a sudden fright. She caught herself in the air, hovering lightly before landing on Kayl's shoulder once more. "Kayl, is everything alright?" Syl whispered as several more thoughts passed through Kayl's mind. The more he thought about it, the more he was sure he had no idea who this man was claiming to be, and was about to speak up and interrupt the 'Court Mage' when suddenly Rhysian stepped towards and off of the stage.

Eyes wide now, his mind completely surprised by the sudden magical prowess before him, Kayl was stopped dead in his tracks by Rhysian's sudden surprising display of power. Kayl was literally made speechless for a moment, and when Rhysian started to walk along away from the stage and over the students, suddenly a memory forced its way into his mind, a memory of himself in the midst of a battle with a tall dangerous man with long black hair, and eyes the color of the sea. The memory was incomplete, and disorganized, with only bits and pieces of it flashing before Kayl's eyes as a deep and overwhelming fear crept up on him as the broken memory continued to play out. A swing of a sword here, a flash of light there, more images of the memory played before Kayl's eyes before a sudden clear scene finally broke from the chaotic images and played out clearly in his mind.

[ ~ A man with long black hair suddenly jumped from one spot in the air to another and another in all kinds of strange positions, from off the side, and even upside down in an erratic pattern, pushing off of the air with a suddenly thrust of momentum that didn't make any sense, as if he was stepping off of the air itself. The movement was so fast that the memory holder's eyes couldn't keep up. The man then suddenly jumped overhead, and as he reached the pinnacle of his jump he formed a large sword in his hand from nothing and brought it down upon the memory holder as they frantically brought their sword up to defend... "Aarai!!!..." ~ ]

The memory startled Kayl as he snapped back to the event at hand with a sudden shock, causing him to fall back into his chair. Sylrenya was again started by his sudden movement, and she remained hovering in the air by his side as she looked to him with concern. 'A-Aarai?!... Who is Aarai?' Kayl thought as he started to breathe hard now, the fear started to overtake him. He had felt this fear only one time before, in the middle of the memory exchange with Lelyna back in the infirmary, when a memory similar to this one forced its way into his mind before, a memory so similar that is might have actually been this one. Kayl covered his mouth then to try and help him keep himself from screaming as he held his breath and tried to control the strong sway of emotions. When he looked up once more, Rhysian was drawing closer to them, and for the first time, Kayl was able to see him clearly. As he drew close, Kayl looked directly into Rhysian's eyes, and suddenly everything just came to a standstill, as the overwhelming fear ailing him caused time to seemingly slow down. Rhysian looked directly at him and nearly stopped as his gaze shifted from him to Lelyna, and back again. It was as if he recognized him, no not just him, them, it was as if he recognized them both, and when he suddenly smiled at them before clearing his throat, Kayl felt another wave coming on as Rhysian walked past them and continued his speech.

Kayl suddenly tilted his head back as a sudden wave of memory after memory hit him back to back to back. "Kayl?!" Sylrenya let out with a soft, whispered gasp as she brought her hands up in front of her mouth and stared at him with disbelief. His eyes nearly rolled back into his head as his body went completely stiff, and the images and sounds and smells of random memories played back to back to back to back, one after the other nonstop in his head. Each memory was completely different from the next. Some happy, joyous, and exciting, others sad, troubled, and frightening. The one link that held them all together was that man. The man with the long black hair, and eyes the color of the sea. But the memories didn't make any sense, as they were fragmented, incomplete, and out of order or context. The man himself seemed to be of different ages in each one, ranging from young to old, and everything in between. Although to Kayl it had felt like an eternity, for the rest of the world around him, only a simple moment had gone by, and Sylreyna had only just finished calling his name softly. "Kayl?!..."

When Kayl's senses returned to him after that deep crazy moment, he took a deep gasping breath, and then suddenly stood from his seat and darted out of the row, nearly kicking other student's feet as he passed them in desperation. Kayl ran out of the Auditorium then as the overwhelming emotions filling him caused his eyes to tear up. He wasn't quite sure where he was going yet, but he knew he needed to leave, and so without hesitation, he quickly ran to the exit and went out the large main entrance doors. Sylrenya quickly followed him, flying after him as she looked back towards the Auditorium. A majority of the students and audience was so enamored by Rhysian's little show that most of them had not noticed anything happening in the audience, and those few people Kayl nearly stepped on reacted as though Kayl was simply trying to clear away from the audience on account of being nauseous or ill. As the doors of the Auditorium shut behind them, Sylrenya looked back at Rhysian in confusion and frustration as he returned to the stage, just before he handed it back to Gannon to close out the ceremony. She didn't know what had just happened but knew that something was wrong. She then looked ahead and flew after Kayl as he darted down the hall and outside towards another wing.

╔═══════════════════

With her eyes closed, Lelyna listened to Gannon’s speech, a small smile on her lips. ‘Same old Gannon…’ She thought with amusement, he said nearly the same thing every year. She truly liked Gannon, he did his job well and he was a good man. Which was just as well; There was no telling if Gannon had found a replacement for the Diviner Class, and if not, it was likely that the two of them would be working very closely together this year.

As Gannon introduced the newest Court Mage, she was immediately puzzled. ’Rhysian Fuerlain De'Valaer…? Is he Kayl’s relative? OUR relative?’ Was it possible that one of their relatives had come to the Academy by mere coincidence? No, Lelyna didn’t believe that for a moment…Her mother had warned that she and Kayl had been separated for their own safety. If this man, Lord Rhysian realized who she was…

Lelyna’s thoughts were derailed as Kayl arose from his seat. Brows knitting in concern and curiosity as to what he was doing, Lelyna had been about to ask Kayl what was happening when
everyone around then began to gasp in surprise, only to ‘oooo’ and ‘awwww’ in fascination. Confused as to what was happening, since she couldn’t see what was going on, Lelyna was left in the dark, literally. As Kayl stumbled back into his seat, Lelyna heard Sylrenya ask Kayl if he was alright. She too was concerned for her brother. “Kayl…? Are you alright?” She whispered low, her hand reaching to gently touch his arm.

When he didn’t answer her, her concern only grew. It seemed that everyone around them was oblivious to Kayl’s plight. It was well enough; they didn’t need any added attention drawn to them, not when one of Kayl’s possible relatives was in the room…But before Lelyna could get any answers, Kayl arose from his seat again only to dart down the row. “Kayl…!” Eyes opening wide, concern written in her expression and unfocused eyes, Lelyna turned toward Mikhail. Reaching for his arm, she knew that her lover had witnessed Kayl’s hasty retreat as well.

“Mikhail…I’m worried…can you follow him, please?” Lelyna knew that Mikhail wouldn’t deny her, not when she was concerned for their friend, and brother (unbeknownst to him). “I’ll stay here, I promise…” She knew that Mikhail wouldn’t want to leave her behind, but with the assembly, they couldn’t both sneak out. “Please…?”

Mikhail didnt have to be asked twice. The Prince, concerned for his friend, immediately went after Kayl. Nodding at his words, Lelyna folded her hands in her lap and frowned lightly, trying her best to pay attenition to the rest of the assembly. By the time it ended, her nerves had calmed somewhat, but she still felt a bit anxious to know if Kayl was alright.

As the students began to arise from their seats, talking among each other of what they saw, Lelyna waited patiently. As she listened, she was intrigued by what the students were saying; 'walking on air', 'light bursting from his steps'. It all seemed rather odd, but then again, this was an Academy of Magic, perhaps the new Court Mage put on some kind of a show for the students, one she hadnt been able to see and enjoy.

Arising from her seat, she turned as if to walk down the row, her palms resting on the tops of the chairs on either side of her. Slowly but surely, she made her way down the line until she reached the aisle. Eyes closed, Lelyna tilted her head to the side slightly, listening for people around her. Getting lost in a crowd and disoriented was very easy for someone who was blind. She hated getting in peoples way and thus, Lelyna waited and listened for movement around her. She wouldnt walk out into the aisle until she knew she wasnt in someones way and could safely walk toward the exit to await Mikhail's return.

As the speech went on for the new court mage, who was actually floating, Lerato kept his posture graceful, though his eyes dilated slightly at the spectacle, like that one time in which his parents were screaming because of that blasted violinist who played horribly to the point in which the song was disgraced. Kayne had apologized earlier for the tardiness because of an emergency, which induced an internal sigh of disbelief from the court mage himself. While the Cooking professor was known to be selfless, there were times on which such demeanor would get in the way of his work at the academy at times. But that one aside, the new court mage had adjourned his speech with the landing after the small display of his power, and it was time for Gannon to introduce everyone who were part of the staff after the applause died down gradually.

By the time Lerato's name was called, he smiled and waved at everyone as if he was a contestant for a beauty contest, the gesture being graceful. But as his fellow co-worker finally adjourned the orientation his final words, however, he glanced around the students exiting, only to see that Lelyna's friend was dashing quickly, having to depart as soon as possible because of feeling ill, with the faerie following close behind. It was somehow the same as what happened with Lelyna two months ago when she overexerted herself, except that this time, the reason may be of an entirely diverging matter. That one aside, the court mage stood up from his seat, approaching Gannon as the other was leaving the podium.

“Quite a spectacle to spice things up for this academic year, don't you think?”
he asked him. In actuality, he was still feeling neutral about the new court mage joining them as part of the staff, but that little show was something that most of them would never forget.

Philia held her focus on the two Court Mages as the speeches started. Gannon was rather quick with his and seemed to focus more on the introduction of Lord Rhysian... "De'Valaer huh..." Philia was curious... She had heard the name somewhere before. The curious woman had no time to pick at her memories however as not only was her interestt raised upon Rhysian starting his speech... But out of the blue, he was walking around in the air, his feet seemingly floating with each step above the crowd to which Philia could only stare with a look of awe. Fascinating... Truly fascinating, seems coming here is already proving... Worthwhile. The Enhancer would think. Philia even felt a slight grin of sheer excitement form on her face. Her eyes practically fixed on the floating male until the very end of speech where he'd finally return to the stage floor.

The audience didn't even wait a moment after he finished to applaud, the clapping and voices echoing endlessly through the walls of the Auditorium, Philia even added in her own clapping, who wouldn't after what was just displayed? Although her gaze did spot the odd person that just observed. A shame... So there are people who just don't seem to fully understand what wonder they've been given the honor of seeing...

Lastly, after that amazing little spectacle Gannon returned to officially introduce the years Professors, her included. As he'd requested, she would stand up for a short period when her name was called out, nodding her head as a quick greeting and then returning to her seat for the remainder of the ceremony. After the last words from the Court Mage were said Philia stepped up again to begin making her leave. She would use the rest of the day to wander and explore the halls of the Academy, familiarising herself with the environment she will be seeing from now on.

~ Philia left for the day ~

To say he was surprised was an understatement. It wasn’t even 15 minutes into the ceremony and something was up. The moment the new court mage came up and introduced himself, confusion filled him. ”Wait…what?” he muttered under his breath as he furrowed his brows and quickly glanced to Lelyna to see if she was just as confused as he was. Just as he assumed, she looked puzzled by the reveal as well. There was one other person he knew would be caught off guard by the name, and it was the only person who shared the same one. Before his eyes could look to him, the man named Rhysian began to walk off the stage and on the air. Now that was interesting, he continued his speech, but Mikhail’s mind was everywhere. Who was this man that apparently shared the same last name with Kayl and why the hell did he say Gran Valor. Finally tearing his eyes away from the older male, Mikhail looked to his friend Kayl.

”Kayl?” His eyes slightly shifted from being confused to completely concerned. His friend seemed to be in a mental bind. He was about to reach out when Kayl suddenly stood and darted out of the row and out of the auditorium. ”Kayl wait!” before Lelyna could finish asking him, he was already running off to go and find him. ”I’ll be right back Lelyna, let me know if anything important is said or anything odd occurs!” Whatever was going on, he needed to know and he wanted to make sure Kayl was alright. The prince had made it out of the auditorium, a few attempting to stop him, but with one glare they backed down. Because of that delay, he lost sight of Kayl for a moment before spotting him and going straight toward the same direction.

Erika made way toward the auditorium to attend the opening ceremony, seeing how it was mandatory. Of course her surroundings were new so she observed and studied them for a moment before moving on to another thing. If her eyes met someone's, she give a small smile and turn away. The academy was beautiful and a rather large area. She hadn't met any people she really talked to yet and she was a little too shy to start a conversation. Once the ceremony started all her attention turned to the people speaking. Curious of why she couldn't go into the forest, but it wasn't like she was anyway. Her studies would be more important than that. Once the ceremony was over, she stood and waited her turn to get out and get done unpacking.

Yeah, I saw. Pretty amazing. Azura would say to Thanya, as she was amazed about the new court mage's ability. In truth, Azura found him slightly weird, but shrugged it off as to thinking it was just a nobleman thing. Add that with the fact that he was related to Kayl in some way, but didn't know how. Azura really did not know much about Kayl, other that his family was very prestigious, so it would make sense that he would have a relative be a court mage. Other than that, she also explained about the new spells class that Azura, now that she mentioned, would think of signing up for himself. It was then that Thanya introduced her to both Jace and Eko. He knew Eko, but never had much of a chance to speak with him. Nice to meet you both. Hope we get along well this year. Azura would say politely.

All of that was soon cut short when he looked behind him in the back row to see the nobles that he just thought of. As it seemed, they seemed to be in some form of confusion and concern. Did they know something about this guy that the students didn't know? Of course, Azura wouldn't know much about them. But something did bother him, and if it wasn't for Thanya or whoever was around, he wouldn't have lost his composure. But that soon disappeared when he saw the way Kayl was acting. The sheer look on his face just said that he saw someone die in front of him, and looked so mortified that all he can do was just worry for the man. What the.... It was only then that Azura saw how Kayl would suddenly get up and run off as the two he was with were worried about him, and Mikhail would go after him. That's really odd... Azura would openly say to himself. So Thanya, I gotta go. A friend of mine seems to be in a bit of trouble, and I'll have to check up on him. Hopefully we can meet again. If you want, you can come over to my dorm. Azura would say to her. He still never knew the reason as to why that would be seen as such a big deal, since Azura is so lax on who can come into his dorm room. Either way, he would bow to Eko and Jace, while Jace was making his way to the podium after leaving the group. Have a good day! Azura would tell them, as he would go off towards the two Valorians. ((exits to training grounds))

Thanya seemed a little disappointed at Jace's answer, though not necessarily at Jace himself. She just seemed to hope he had more information. She let out a sigh and responded. "Well, I guess I will just ask one of the teachers. I'm sure they would know." When Jace stated he needed to leave she would wave him off with a smile. "Ok Jace, see you around."

When Azura announced he needed to leave as well Thanya would wish him off in the same way as with Jace, but his words triggered something in her memory. She would suddenly state out loud. "Oh...that's right! Unless I just want to keep sleeping in the trees, I need to get set up in a dorm!" Thanya would turn to Eko. "Mr. Gannon said to talk to him if you need a dorm right? I'm going to go talk to him right now. You want to come along?"

Without waiting for Eko to respond Thanya would get up from her seat and move in Gannon's direction. With the ceremony over, people were beginning to file out of the auditorium and she didn't want to miss her chance. Running up to the stage, but not getting on it herself, Thanya would call to the head master. "Mr. Gannon! Mr. Gannon! You said to talk to you about getting set up in a dorm right? I need to do just that!" Thanya also remembered she had another rather important question. "Uh, also, how do I register for classes, like that spell class and the class teaching me how to be a better shifter?"

~ Eryli entered the Auditorium ~
Nononono..!! It was rather late in the day for anybody to be rushing, yet here she was... The Elementor was in a hurry, flustered as she was running late for the opening Ceremony. Turned out she grew too comfortable when she returned in the dorm after her time at the Barracks, the super cozy bed was just a huge relief for her and now she was paying for it. Eryli walked into the Auditorium to see... The very end of Court Mage Gannon's speech. Ugh, I missed it?! Eryli's cheeks burned with embarassment. She took a breath and kept her eyes trained of the Court Mage while making her way over to him.

Upon approaching Eryli saw another female was already getting his attention... One she'd never seen. Must be a Shifter. I wonder what she turns into? As expected it was always simple to tell when somebody was a Shifter... One wouldn't know at a glance what Eryli's Knit was. Shifters certainly did interest the mute... Not to mention some of them turned into really cute creatures. While she grew lost in her thoughts the snow-themed female would prepare her notepad that she had gotten over the break for when she had Gannon's attention.

Even when Kayne was feeling uncertain about what the new guy would do, more so with the speech adjourning and the reactions were varied, to say the least, the Cooking professor would still have to possess professional demeanor. Hence, once Gannon introduced everyone who was part of the staff, he let out a bow alongside a huge grin and a wave. Seriously, he was in the mood to give everyone food, but that would mean having to disrupt the flow of the orientation, so he eschewed that idea entirely. With some people preparing to leave the auditorium, though there was one who was close to feeling a bit under the weather that the departure was quick, it was Kayne’s cue to depart as well. As much as he wanted to spend time with his co-workers, his mother was still recovering, thus having to take things easy for her and she may need some help from him, so the cooking duties in the tavern would have to resume.

“That’s a very good speech, but I have to head back to the tavern. I’ll see you all tomorrow,” Kayne gave the fellow staff members an energetic wave of farewell before leaving the auditorium. He could possibly make up for lost time once he would be back to doing what he knows best during the lessons in his elective class for both old and new students.

Jace had been slowly making his way over to the final speaker, having been taking his time to carefully traverse the crowd. He remembered his last experience with them and how that had turned out, not desiring a repeat of such an event. Not only would it be unbecoming, but it would also be with his fellow student body and he did not desire to gain that kind of reputation. Sticking to the edges he slowly progressed forward towards the stage, pausing or taking longer routes as necessary so he did not have to brush up against many of them as he kept his polite air to him. He was scarcely halfway there when he noticed Miss Kamsing running, running! Of all things to the stage, nimbly going through the students. Jace had paused in his own movement to just stare for a few moments at such an act, before shaking his head and continuing on his way. 'She certainly has no reservations.' He silently thought to himself in mild shock. He had not expected her to be joining him as well, though perhaps it was because of the company they had before that she took a little longer to go to him. Still, one unexpected benefit to this was that she left a trail in her wake that most students were avoiding. Quick to seize the chance and avoid any incident, Jace calmly walked into her prior path and followed after before it would be swallowed up by the crowd.

Once Miss Kamsing had reached the stage, and Jace only a little behind her, he heard her call over to the headmaster about dorms and classes. Though it still surprised him at the volume and her doing such a thing rather than he was about to do, he was learning to expect such surprises from her. 'Still, she did inquire on the matters I am interested in as well. Well, most of them at the least.' He thought to himself. He would still need to ask about his dorm specifically, though the forest he would save for another time, but the general process of class registration was something that should have a neutral answer. As such, it would apply to him regardless and he would merely need to listen in. Finally reaching the stage, but a little away, he would wait his turn. It was then that he noticed her tail. He mentally froze for a moment, surprised he had missed such a thing, before recovering from it. 'So she is a shifter as well.' He thought to himself, thinking perhaps they may share the same class. He didn't know how he felt about that, as with complete strangers he at least would not have to interact with them but he had a feeling he may be interacting with her more often than not. 'All the more reason to hope classes are private.' He reasoned to himself.

Jace would also note the presence of another nearby who did not seem to be exiting or interacting with anyone else. It was a girl who seemed rather thin, with long white hair. She was holding a notepad as well and seemed to be looking in the general direction of Gannon and Miss Kamsing. 'It would seem many of us desire to interact with Gannon, as Miss Kamsing called the man.' Jace thought to himself. There was not much to do about such a thing regardless but wait his own turn to interact for his dorm specifically. Miss Kamsing, with her vocal and excitable nature, may ask things he had yet to think of as well as ask all the questions he himself desired to ask which worked perfectly for him. Though he was content to wait till it was his time to speak with Gannon, he did not desire to be rude as he had no knowledge of how long till it would be his turn. As such, he would politely bow with a matching smile to this girl should she ever notice his presence as a small gesture, in his mind, of acknowledgement. During this she may or may not notice his eyes, which while snakelike, could also be mistaken for a cats since they they could shrink into slits or expand similarly. For now he was content with the silence of himself and the girl who seemed to also be waiting for Gannon. Still, it would be rude to ignore her presence entirely. He would give her a polite bow and matching smile should she notice his presence, a simple gesture of acknowledgement to him at least, before resuming his wait to interact with Gannon.

Gannon nodded at Lerato’s words. “Indeed. I certainly didn’t expect to see him walking on air…” He said as he looked toward Rhysian across the stage. “It’s clear that Rhysian is in a league of his own. His skills as a mage are unlike anything that I’ve seen.” One had to wonder what other feats Rhysian was capable of…

Before Gannon could say anything else to Lerato, a female student called out to him, catching his attention. “Excuse me, Lerato…” Looking down at the female shifter, he nodded a little. “I can help with that, Miss…” Looking around, Gannon noticed several other students coming toward the stage, looking toward him. It seemed that several students had questions for him.

“For any students in need of dorms, I have your assignments ready.” Reaching into his breast pocket, he pulled out four envelopes. “You must be Miss Thanya Kamsing. Here is your dorm assignment and schedule and you have already been assigned to the Shifter Class.” Handing Thanya the envelope, inside she would find her dorm room assignment and the name of her roommate as well as her Knit class schedule.

“I also have envelopes for Jace Willem, Eyrli Res and Erika Winchester.” Gannon said, handing out the envelopes to each student as they came closer to claim them. “There is an elective sign-up sheet just outside the auditorium doors. Feel free to sign up for one elective. As of right now, the Spells Class is only being offered to Graduates. This may change, but for the time being, as new students, try to find an elective that you can enjoy. Each of you has already been assigned to your knit class. Feel free to wander the campus and find your classrooms so you wont be late on your first day. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.”

She'd half expected a simple, dull lecture on "do you best" or "be kind to everyone..." But nothing could have prepared the Shifter girl for the mysterious power the new Court Mage displayed to them... He... He was flying! No wings, just... It's as if the air itself was his terrain. "H-how... How did he do that?? Is it a raiment?? Or something to do with this new spells class?" Catherine stared towards the stage, still in disbelief of what her red stare was being subjected to. She'd glance over at her brother, awaiting some sort of response...

Finally the speeches were over, a rather dull experience save for that little surprise from this "Rhysian" guy. Rin let out a sigh. "About time..." Sure... It was necessary. But the girl just couldn't handle all the fancy speaking from such events. After waiting for a bit Rin was attempting to climb up onto Gins back. She spoke with a slight drowzy tone. "Can we go now?" Rin glanced around once more, this time from the elevation of her brothers shoulders... Until her ruby gaze spotted something... Odd.

In the distance there seemed to be someone... Perhaps watching them? He seemed to shift between staring and resting. Rin half considered bringing it up... But kept silent for the time being. Whenever her brother was ready she would stay on his back as they made their leave. Catherine would make note to see the Court Mage about her Dorm later in the day when she didn't feel so exhausted.

Looking back over his shoulder as Gannon took the stage once more, Rhysian's gaze searched through the audience and came upon the area that caught his interest during his speech. Noting that a spot was empty now, his eyes narrowed curiously as he took his seat in the third seat left out for the Court Mages. Taking a breath, his eyes would then fall upon the young girl sitting alone as the two young males that had been sitting by her side where no longer present. Gannon's speech would continue, introducing the staff for the year, both old and new, as well as the new class that Q'ara would be teaching. Rhysian smiled lightly when Q'ara was introduced to them all. Q'ara stood and bowed lightly to the audience upon being called and introduced to the students. She then sat back down and looked over at Rhysian with a smirk as he nodded in her direction, but his gaze would once again subtly return to the young girl who sat alone with her eyes shut, curiosity getting the best of him. His attention was drawn just enough that Q'ara took note of it during the rest of Gannon's speech. Rhysian's gaze steadied out over the audience, and she looked out as well curiously to see what he was looking at. It wasn't often that something would catch his attention after all.

When the assembly was finished, and the students were dismissed, Rhysian watched silently as the girl stood up to leave the row of seats, and noted that her eyes remained shut even now. 'Curious...' He thought to himself as he pondered what was wrong with her eyes. For a brief moment, a slight disappointment fell over his face as he came to realize the possibility that she wasn't able to use her eyes, one way or another, and when she stopped at the end of the row, waiting for others to pass so that she didn't unintentionally et in anyone's way, he stood up and started to make his way to the isle. This surprised Q'ara who sat silently and watched curiously as Rhysian made his way to the stage steps.

"Excuse me," He would say as he passed by Gannon, lightly patting his shoulder as he passed. Some students were now blocking the stairway off of the stage however as they were approaching to speak with Gannon about their dorms, so rather then wait for them to pass, Rhysian stepped of the stage once more, this time slowly floating to the floor below before stepping through the crowd and towards the main isle. "Excuse me," He would say again as he passed by a few students before finally reaching the edge of the isle where the young woman with closed eyes stood patiently waiting. Rhysian stopped for a moment before reaching her, looking her over as if he was assessing her for a moment, and Q'ara sat straight up as she looked over the young blind woman and narrowed her eyes. 'Who is... no... it can't be... can it?" She thought to herself before looking to the ground, now understanding Rhysian's interest. She smiled lightly and shook her head standing then as she pondered the odds. Wondering what Rhysian was going to do, especially if she was right about her hunch, she waited for just a moment longer before standing and walking off the stage, she would head to her classroom to check out the set up and change things to her liking. If he needed her, he would find her easily enough.

After a moment, Rhysian finally stepped forward and spoke. "Is everything alright... miss,...?" He asked her, his voice filled with a warm caring tone before he chuckled lightly and spoke again. "Seems your entourage has disappeared, perhaps I can be of assistance..."

Thanya would happily take the envelope from Gannon and tuck it away to be opened at a later time. When he revealed that only graduates would be allowed to learn spell casting Thanya's ears would droop a bit in disappointment, but she would quickly recover and state. "Well, I guess that means I'll just have to work really hard so that I can take the spell class in the future!" By the conviction in her voice it was obvious she truly meant it. The new court mages earlier display left her fascinated with the subject. For one who quested for knowledge, she could think of no greater calling then unraveling the mysteries of magic.

With the dorm situation solved, Thanya was about to rush out of the building to check what electives were available, but then she realized the other students around her who received envelopes must be new students like herself. She decided to wait for a moment and see if anyone else asked any interesting questions she could learn from. It occurred to her as well that one of these students might even be her new dorm-mate!
