When
Reese woke that morning she found that it was basically freezing, and being unable to decipher why it was cold in her half asleep state she had simply buried herself in her blankets. Eventually though she'd heard her friend wandering about to get ready and slowly Reese dragged herself from her bed and got herself ready for the day.

She dressed quickly in an outfit she knew was similar to the day before, eager to have her feet covered and protected from the cold floor. After dressing the blond girl combed out her hair, leaving it loose for the day in hopes that her hair would provide a bit more warmth than if she'd pinned it up. She adjusted her bangs some to cover her scars a little, then finally she retrieved her violin case from under her bed. she ran her fingers over the decorations lightly as though checking that the decorative shells were in their place before taking Calli's arm and following the girl to their class, offering a thanks as they went.

{{Enter Music Room with Callie}}

Reese heard the sound of a violin from far down the hall, and while she felt relatively somber that morning she couldn't help but smile. Patrick's playing was so free and energetic she hoped that she may be able to achieve that sound some day. As Calliope led the blond girl to her seat she had started to unpack her violin, being as quiet as she could so as not to disturb the fiery sound of Patrick's violin. She had planned only to prep it, but hearing Callie begin to pluck at her strings in rhythm accompanying Patrick's tune, the blond girl stopped to listen for a moment.

Then the older girl bumped her lightly and it took another moment of thought before Reese caught on and readied her own violin to play. She listened to the two for a moment, choosing what she thought was a good chance to join in and accompanied the two. Reese played softly, creating almost a light echo of the song that Patrick was playing. She was confident in her mimicry skills, having relied on it for a long time, and while Patrick's playing was still relatively new to her she'd copied him at least once before. The blond girl felt a sort of glee in playing with the two, and while she was a little unsure she thought that she was keeping up pretty well simply listening to the light plucking of Calli's violin and the spirited playing of Patrick's.

Although he was well engrossed in his music, the Diviner's ears quickly picked up on the subtle sound of someone plucking notes in tune with his playing and he opened an eye, spotting Calliope from across the room. At this point, his playful smirk would appear and he would open both eyes grinning as he watched Reese join in as well before putting a sort of energized twist in his step as he made his way across the room towards them.

Although he could have quite happily gone from one melody to the next, listening to see how the pair adapted to his different rhythms and tunes, Patrick knew there was a lesson to be taught that day and eventually, the instrumental would draw to its inevitable close and the Diviner would draw the bow out with the last note and bow his head so his gaze dropped to the floor. The best thing about a large room was listening as the sound echoed faintly around them before fading out.

With the snow outside bringing the world into an unsettling hush, the silence inside the room was almost deafening as the quietude resumed, but as the male straightened up, his smile was once again present and he acknowledged the pair properly this time,

"Good morning to you both," he would bow his head briefly before placing his bow alongside the neck of his Violin so he now held them together, "It's certainly a little chilly this morning isn't it...?" He was unaware of the pair's cold start that day, but having already made an attempt to get himself warmed up - both physically and in practicing his music, the Diviner guessed now would be as good a time as any to get the lesson underway.

"Should Hibernate." Branwen gave a Caw from across the room, she had swapped places once again during the trio's musical interaction and had now perched herself infront of the window looking rather grumpily out at the snow... Her white feathers were puffed up and she had crouched so that the soft down of her underbelly helped to keep her scaly feet warm,

"Birds don't hibernate Silly..." Patrick smiled as he quirked an eyebrow at the Raven's comment, then turned his attention back towards the pair, "How are you both at moving whilst you play?" As he had considered before, with the weather being so cold that day, it might just be worth getting the pair to move around a little whilst they practiced... "As you may have guessed, I can't really keep still...heh," he scratched the back of his head as he said that before glancing to the side,

"If that's not really your thing, I'm sure we can come up with something else?" he tilted his head, "I'm open to suggestions," It would perhaps seem a little strange for him to be asking the class themselves what they wanted to do, but anything was worth a shot.

xxxxxxxxxDeath is not the greatest loss in life...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A broad smile appeared on Calliope's face when her roommate joined into the song. The girl was good, keeping up with the other two that had already set the precedence for the song, while also bringing her own passion to it. In truth they were far better players than the tall girl, she only made a baseline for the song but Patrick did everything else while Reese added an eerie echo that escalated the song to a higher tier than it was. It was a beautiful piece, to say the least, and Calli's fingers ceased when the song was over and the boy was standing opposite them. He happily greeted them before speaking of the weather, making a grimace come across the girl's face.

"It would be bearable if the windows had a mind of their own and closed themselves during the night," she quipped, looking out the window were the raven perched. Calliope nodded her head towards the bird and continued, "She gets it."

Chuckling lightly, the girl's attention was brought back to Patrick when he asked a question. In truth Calliope did not know exactly how she played when moving, as she had never needed to do so before then. She was sure it was something she would have to get used to, every jerk of the body or swing of the hips in time with the music. A violin was an instrument, much like most strings, that needed precision to use effectively. If one did not have it, the music flowing out of the wood would be no better than a cat screeching to be fed. She had watched her mother play around the house often, though she also understood it was quite different to watch someone than to do it oneself. Even if she could remember every detail of how she moved there was no way of knowing she could imitate it until she tried.

Getting up slowly, she looked to Patrick before to Reese. Situating onto the chinrest she said, "I'm up to give it a try. A duel to keep us warm and to prove who is superior, I say!" Calliope was being playful, the inclination in her voice low and filled with the hitching breath of laughter, as she kept her bow at the ready across the strings.

As
the song drew to a close Reese looked towards Patricks voice, offering a light wave with her bow and a "good morning" before lowing her beloved instrument carefully to her side. At Patrick's comment on the cold Reese almost shivered "It's way to cold," she replied, nodding in agreement with Branwen, "Hibernation would be nice," she added in a light, and playful tone.

At the question of movement it took the blond girl a moment to answer. She use to move a lot when she was younger, she had even been scolded a few times for it. But since basically re-learning to use her violin she had been a lot more careful and controlled in playing, having almost entirely stopped movement aside from swaying in tune to the song. Deciding one how to phrase her answer she gave a small smile "I'm generally sorta cautious when playing," she said, "but I think it'd be fun to learn," she added thoughtfully.

At Calli's recommendation of a duel Reese's smile widened. She wanted to challenge herself, and dueling two other skilled violinists would be a fun way to do so, "A duel sounds like a great idea!" she said with more enthusiasm than she'd expected to and looked towards where Patrick stood expectantly.

Patrick knew what Calliope meant when it came to windows closing by themselves - perhaps one day someone would discover a method or develop a mechanism for that very reason? "Thankfully, I tend to keep my window shut, for obvious reasons..." he would nod towards the little white puff-ball that had now buried her beak in her soft chest plumage and closed her eyes, "You don't need to move very far," he smiled when they both seemed up for adding a little action into their playing, "It just takes a step or two to get yourself going,"

His smile widened that little bit further and he would nod as Calli suggested a duel, "What a fantastic idea!" watching as his fellow Diviner once again readied herself to play, "What do you say you two start things off - and I face the winner?" he was happy if they wanted to challenge him one-on-one first, but was quite eager to see what the pair could come up with when put on the spot.

Depending on their decision, Patrick would either ready his bow, or set the instrument down on the desk - so he wasn't tempted to join in - before leaning against the edge. Branwen in the meantime would open her eyes a peek and glance around, lifting into the air for a brief moment before coming into land upon Patrick's lap - or nearby the student who was waiting should the Diviner be challenged first.

Calliope nodded to Reese, lightly swaying her body towards her before righting her position. If she was the one that was the first challenger, Calliope knew full well she would lose. It was for fun and games, not truly a duel to see who was superior, as she knew she had not practiced for long anywhere near the other two students. Still she warmed up by dragging the bow across the tight strings, coupling a chorus together before letting it die into an echo throughout the room. She took a step forward, sliding up the bow, before planting her feet, dragging the bow down.

Her body moved in motion with the music as she began to play faster, an actual tune coming forth from the violin. Her eyes were closed and a small smile crept across her features. Her mind was clear, only focused on the music, and as she swayed she continued to take a few steps here and there. It was the start of the duel, and while the melody was steady with very little flourishes, when Reese jumped in Calliope was sure to change the tune. First she would have to see what the blonde girl would throw at her before she showed off all her talents!

Reese
looked toward Calliope and gave a playful smile, she readied her violin. She was excited for the challenge, knew that while Calli hadn't played as long as herself, the older girl would still bring a challenge. Reese tested the strings of her violin before the older girl began to play. She waited, allowing some time for her to get into the song enough that Reese got the rhythm of the piece. The song Calli played was a lovely one, it sounded a little ominous she thought, but overall, a good start.

The blond girl listened, counting the notes then jumping in when Calli's song grew soft. She played a Song she knew pretty well, something bouncy and loud. The blond girl tried to remember the layout of the room as best she could and moved away from the desks a few steps to allow herself to exaggerate her movements without fear. Reese allowed herself to move with the music, swinging her arms and upper body in time to the song. She played for a short bit and lowered her playing when Calli switched her tune. Reese allowed some time for this song, playing her own a little softer to get a feel of what Callie played before she jumped back in. Playing in a more fiery fashion. This almost made her regret having left her hair down that morning but the hair wasn't causing to many issues.

As Reese's song returned from dropping in tempo she felt a bit of excitement in her chest, on top of the fact that she was playing with another person, it was just fun to move so much. it felt almost like when she was learning to play and had basically danced through the poorly played musical pieces, now though she knew how to play and felt confident in her motion. Rejoicing in the song the blond girl exaggerated her movements more, playing back and forth with the older girl happily. While her own song grew in tempo and volume though Reese spun halfway round and bumped into a desk.

Reese's song stopped abruptly as she instinctively stumbled away from object. She felt embarrassed, and more than a little angry with herself. She thought she had counted her steps right, was sure she was far enough to not hit anything. she let out a soft sigh and shook her head lightly. Silently scolding herself on her carelessness as she turned back to the others and gave a sheepish smile, "It looks like you beat me," she said with a soft chuckle, "I'll be sure to try and destroy you next time," she added playfully.

What was he to say? Patrick was clearly in the presence of a pair who were so much more skillful in their art than they allowed themselves to believe! The choice in songs - both vastly different - yet fading so beautifully between one another that it was truly a duel to be admired. He listened as they passed the torch that was the melody back and forth, incorporating initially subtle, then more flowing movements in their performances as they started to get a feel the songs they were playing...

His eyes first followed the initiator of the duel, noting the subtle start to Calliope's movements before quirking an eyebrow as he spotted the tiniest hint of a smile upon her lips. Somewhere within that expression, Patrick was certain he could feel the female's desire to just cut loose and let the music take her...and with time, perhaps it would grow, but for now, he was happy to see her enjoying herself.

Branwen meanwhile was quite content to sit upon Patrick's lap - his hands which closed lightly around her were much warmer than the windowsill upon which she'd first chosen to sit and as she listened to the duel, watching the pair's rhythmic swaying she felt her eyelids begin to droop and buried her head into her fluffy chest...

It was great to see Reese stepping out of her comfort zone, her initial baby-steps allowing her to map out her surroundings until her confidence blossomed and she truly started to step into action... He could see the excitement in the female's strides, matching her movement as she branched out ever further - but somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew it was with that enthusiasm that one soon forgot the environment around them - Patrick had made that same mistake himself several times in the past and as he saw Reese draw ever closer towards the table, he suddenly pushed away from the desk - launching the Poor Raven from her place as he attempted to stop her before the inevitable impact...

Sadly, he was too late and the resounding thud of the Celebrar connecting with the desk left the Diviner feeling more than a little guilty as he saw her draw away before breathing a sigh and shaking her head. The initial look of shock upon his face was soon replaced with relief however as Reese appeared to admit her defeat to Calliope before stating that she would 'destroy' her opponent the next time the chance arose...

"Reese, are you okay?" he placed a concerned hand upon her arm, hoping she hadn't done herself too much damage before looking between the pair as he tried to decide - regardless of what had happened - just who he might choose as the victor, "Although Reese admitted defeat, I think you would both give me a run for my money," he smiled in an attempt to lighten the moment, "Perhaps next time we'll take the show somewhere more spacious?"

Although he would have loved to have challenged them both then and there, the Diviner felt it was best to draw the lesson to a close for the day - he still felt partially to blame for Reese catching herself against the table as it had been at his suggestion that they both agreed to add a little movement to their performance... At the end of the day, it served as a reminder that as an assistant, he still had a long way to go and a lot of factors to mull over before even considering taking over as a tutor...lest someone end up with a little more than a bump...

"Well, I'm not exactly the tutor, so I can't really dish out any homework...I can, but I won't." he glanced between the two with a weak smile, "But perhaps a suggestion for us all? As we've realised today, it's important to take the movement side of things gradually...so perhaps if you were to observe and work with one another outside of class we can find a way to let your enthusiasm flow through other, less painful means...?" he would allow them the chance to put their instruments away whilst he recovered the disgruntled Raven from where she had landed on the floor and set her back on his shoulder,

"And whilst I think about it, maybe I will set some homework - in the way of a challenge..." he would glance over his shoulder as he moved to collect his Violin Case, "Next lesson, I would like you both to take me on - it can be one at a time, or both at once, but I would like you guys to come up with something that will blow me away." He would leave them to decide exactly how they would impress him, but for the time being, as long as they were alright, then he was happy to draw the lesson to a close.

As usual, he would remain behind until they had both taken their leave before heading back to his Dorm room.

Another cold and Wintry day... Patrick had opened the window that morning to breathe deep the nice cooling breeze, only to have a certain Corvid shoot past him and promptly disappear from view as she escaped out into the falling snow... It wouldn't be wise to just leave the window open and so the Diviner reluctantly waited for Branwen to decide it was a little too cold to hang around outside and promptly shut it behind her - the last thing he wanted was a room full of snow!

Excited to see what the pair had to show him that day, Patrick would grab his violin case, calling the reluctant raven to his shoulder before grabbing his scarf and making his way down towards the Theatre Wing.

Although aware that Reese now had a roommate who also shared the lesson, the Diviner knew it wouldn't feel right if he didn't get a little bit of practice in before the pair arrived, so, as per the norm, he would push open the door, watching as his White Raven Companion took to the air, flying across the room to her usual perch out of the way before pursuing her towards the table below and setting his case down upon the desk.

It rarely took him much time to get his instrument ready and as soon as he was content with the way it sounded, Rick began to play - the melody a song that would drift out through the entrance and along the corridors, reaching the ears of those nearby and perhaps any adjacent classrooms that also kept their doorways open.

Having set the girls some homework the previous lesson, he could only start to wonder what they might have come up with to 'impress him' - It was up to them how they chose to take him on - be it through music, or if they had the ability, somehow bringing their Raiment into play as well - He'd seen a few of the Elementors manipulating the world around them and although he had no idea what the pair could do, he knew it would prove quite interesting if something like that were to happen.

Regardless, he hoped he was in for quite the lesson and so whilst he waited, he cycled through a handful of tunes, resisting the urge to break into one of the more vocal pieces just incase they were to walk in on him like before...

xxxxxxxxxDeath is not the greatest loss in life...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The howling of the wind kept Calliope up most of the night. When she finally ran away the horrible images in her mind and closed her eyes to sleep, she was awoken thirty minutes later by her body. She had become so accustomed to getting up so early, she would have to forcibly will herself to go back to sleep, and so began her day. She cleaned up and had some fruit that sat in the bowl on the side table, before getting on her boots. After grabbing her violin case, she followed down the familiar hallway without another glance to the blonde that was leaving her today

{Enter Classroom}

Calliope was surprised that Patrick had beaten her to the classroom. It was usually she that entered before others, but the warm melodies he was playing was enough to soothe any superficial annoyance. He wasn't exactly playing a song, more like snippets of music, and she wondered if he was simply waiting for them to enter. She remembered the "homework" the boy had given them, and while they had been cut short of learning, Calliope was confident she could play the whole song without Reese. She would have to do a lot of things without her roommate now, she thought bitterly.

She sat down in her usual spot: opposite of Patrick before getting out her violin. She gave a lukewarm greeting to the boy before picking at the strings to make sure it was still in tune.

Patrick's eyes would open and lift towards Calliope as she made her way into the room, it was nice to see she had arrived so promptly, but it was quite curious that she would arrive alone...? Quirking an eyebrow, he observed as she crossed the room to her usual seat before getting out her violin and plucking the strings to see that they were in tune...

"No Reese?" Having been through quite a bit with the girl over the past few months, Patrick had to admit he was a little concerned that Calli - who was the Celebrar's Roommate - hadn't brought her friend along to class that morning. If he was honest, he'd been a little anxious about dueling with the pair, so to see the other absent, he could only thank his lucky stars and wonder what might just have happened, "Is she unwell?" It wasn't like Reese to miss a class, even though her vision was poor, she still found some way of making her way there - hence the reason Rick played at the start of each lesson...

He would wait for Calliope's answer, then begin to wonder just exactly what they might do that lesson to pass the time...sure they could practice, but he'd set them the task of thinking up something for a duel, so perhaps they should just continue on with the initial plan?

"So...I guess we should make a start then?" He wouldn't doubt that she'd been practicing - he just hoped that with her roommate taking her leave that it didn't dull her sparkle any...

At each question Patrick asked her, Calliope would "tune" her violin sharply, cutting off the question so she would not have to answer. Her anger spilled out of her as she nodded toward the boy when she asked if they should simply play. The notes were hit aggressively, strongly, and before long she had stood and walked around. She needed to get rid of the jitters, stop the deepening pit in her stomach, and before long she flung her violin away from her chin and held it so tightly she thought it would break.

She looked to the boy and breathed out, "She left," before going to her seat and packing up her things. Class was far from being over, but she left Patrick there, walking out in a huff before making her way back to her room.

Patrick couldn't help but wince at each sharp 'twang' that resounded from beneath Calliope's fingers as they tugged aggressively at the strings of her instrument - he didn't need to be an empath to pick up on the ire that was bubbling within her and couldn't help but feel a little sorry for both Calli and her instrument... he of course had only been curious - if a little concerned, having been through the horror that had been the attack those months beforehand - spending that long and cold night out in Eoana's Forbidden Forest with Reese...to have her suddenly not turn up for class was a little out of character.

His green eyes watched a little guardedly as his fellow Diviner rose from her seat, agreeing with a single nod that they should just 'play' before her aggression appeared to leak into her music, sharp, piercing notes - perhaps coupled with broody undertones...? Eventually it seemed his curious enquiries had become too much for her and Calliope retorted with so blunt an answer that Reese had "gone" before packing up her things and leaving without further interaction...

Uncertain quite how to take the news - or Calli's whole demeanour - Patrick would just stand there in silence, watching, unable to react as the girl took her leave; his bow and the neck of his violin held lightly in his fingers as he stood there in some stunned bewilderment... Even Branwen seemed lost for words, but soon broke the male from his daze as she flew across the room to land upon the Diviner's shoulder...

With no students, there wasn't really any need to continue the class...in fact, he didn't really feel like playing anymore - almost as though the wind had been ripped from his sails... Casting a weak smile at the White Raven, bringing his fingers up to massage her beak, Patrick would breathe a sigh and return to the desk, packing away his things before making a return to his Dorm Room.

If it hadn't of been for the sounds of a particularly obnoxious corvid rifling through what little belongings he had to his name, Patrick might just have rolled over and drawn the covers up over his head - In fact, at first, that had been exactly what the Diviner had done...letting out a groan as the White Raven seemed to disappear inside the small satchel which had found its way onto the floor with a resounding thud at some ungodly hour that morning...

"...What are you doing...silly bird?" With a sigh, Patrick rolled back the covers, pushing them aside with his foot as he sat up before finding his way to his feet. "There's no food." running a hand through is messy hair, the Diviner reached for the strap of the bag, watching as Branwen retreated out from its depths, shaking her feathers off before scowling up at the male as he returned it to the chair from which it had fallen.

"Is Morning." the bird gave a grumble, indicating that the sun had risen and that he should perhaps do the same? "Time Wasting." In a way, she was right...he had a class to oversee - not that it was much in the way of a class - They'd recently gone from two student - the most he'd seen since he was part of the lessons himself under Lerato - to just one...and Calliope had seemed to have lost much of her enthusiasm since Reese had returned home...

Regardless of how he was feeling, Patrick knew he would have to attend, just incase anyone turned up... Picking up his violin case, the Diviner would call his white-feathered companion to his side before seeing himself out of the door.

~ Arriving at Music Classroom ~

He opened the door to the - as anticipated - empty Theatre, breathing a sigh as Branwen took wing and disappeared across the other side of the Hall. She was quite content, the Practice Hall was large enough for her to comfortably spread her wings, with just as many places to perch when she got tired...

Making his way across the room, the Diviner placed his case upon the desk, but for once, didn't open it. Instead, he slid quite un-enthusiastically around the side of the desk before taking a seat in the chair on the other side. He just didn't feel like playing that morning - for one, Reese didn't need guiding because she wasn't there...and Calliope? She'd seemed so affected by her roommate's leaving that he was uncertain if his fellow Diviner would show at all...

Branwen circled the upper vestibule a few times before coming into land just shy of the edge of the desk - Usually by now, her companion had started to play, but with nothing but the soft flap of her wings, the White Raven couldn't help but swoop in to investigate...

Leaning his elbows upon the desk, the Diviner sat with his head in his hands - he wasn't sleeping, but his eyes were closed. She was tempted to give him a peck, but instead, moved into the gap between his elbows and got settled.

It is never hard to allow those negative thoughts to sink in when one is on their own, but as Patrick sat there, his mind began to wander...

Opening his eyes now, he came to rest his chin upon his knuckles as he laced his fingers together and stared with little direction across the Theatre space. What had happened lately? It seemed as though everyone had just upped and left... Several people he knew had either taken a leave of absence, or just disappeared completely...Then there was the Spirits - Once able to converse with at least one a week, now visitations from 'The Other Side' seemed to have dwindled to nothing at all - Even Branwen had seemed to have stopped noticing them - if of course there were any to notice in the first place?

He breathed a sigh, glancing down at the Corvid as her beady-black eyes and pointed beak turned up to face him - She had ruffled up her feathers, but remained close by... The Diviner would smile down at the 'Pretty-Bird' briefly, then that too would disappear as his mind started to ask...what he would do without her?

The day he'd sent her away with a note to his Grandfa, Patrick had allowed her to go with good intentions, then in the following days, he'd become aware of just how lonely he actually was - There were no Obnoxious cousins to rough-house with - or avoid for that matter, there was no Aunts to have a random 'chat' with, no nets to assist in repairing... Sure, he had his Violin...but he felt no urge to play it - no sad symphony, no catchy tune...

With another sigh, the male unlaced his fingers and pushed the chair back from the desk - it perhaps hadn't been as long as it had felt, but with no sign of students for the entire time that he'd been sat there thinking, he had started to wonder if any would show at all...

"What doing?" Branwen would turn round as the Diviner had started to move, tilting her head as he'd moved across to the board and taken up the chalk before pondering what he should write...

With nothing in the way of an answer, Patrick would scrawl a few letters between the long lines that for a Music Class should really hold notes, rather than words, before setting the chalk back down on the side and turning back towards the desk.

"Caw?" Tilting her head to the other side now, the White Raven would watch as he checked the catches on his case before picking it up and moving back around the desk, "Class?" She wasn't necessarily able to read written word - it all looked like chicken-scratch to her, but as Patrick began to move for the door, she saw little option but to take wing and follow, landing upon the male's shoulder as he stepped out into the corridor.

For those that might enter after he had left, the chalkboard would hopefully be the next place one's eyes might travel when they discovered their teaching assistant was not present...It would read:

๐“–๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ญ ๐“œ๐“ธ๐“ป๐“ท๐“ฒ๐“ท๐“ฐ ๐“ช๐“ต๐“ต, ๐“˜ ๐“ฑ๐“ธ๐“น๐“ฎ ๐”‚๐“ธ๐“พ ๐“ช๐“ป๐“ฎ ๐”€๐“ฎ๐“ต๐“ต,

He felt bad for not sticking around, but for some reason, his heart just wasn't into it that morning... So once he'd returned his Violin Case to his Dorm Room, Patrick would head outside the Academy, hoping to find something to brighten his mood...
