Reesehad packed her things early the night before, her bag held only some of the items she'd brought with her, and while it hurt her to do so, The girl had left her violin in the room with the intent to return for it soon. She could survive a few days without her beloved instrument, and she wanted it to stay as safe as it could which generally means avoiding long trips from one island to another.
Having received the letter from her mother only the day before, Reese had spent all of her free time carefully picking and packing clothes to take on her trip back to Valor. The letter had told her she wouldn't be home long, but knowing her parents they intended to keep her home as long as they could before allowing her to return alone to the academy.
While she knew her parents meant well with their attempts to find healers and miracle workers to return her eyesight to normal, the blond girl had given up long ago. This time though they seemed hopeful, having written about a wonderful person who had a vast list of successful healings. Reese told herself not to get her hopes up, however she always did. This time though, on top of her hopes, she felt some guild. guilt for missing classes, and guilt for leaving Calli to deal with the night alone again.
Reese sighed as she waited, eventually hearing the sound of her carriage arriving she shifted her hold on the pink suitcase and adjusted her coat before stepping into the carriage, hopeful that her trip wouldn't take to long.

Tala Maxwell and Patrick Lockheart ~ The Courtyard ~
There would be no peace on this day of freedom if the little creature was to remain cooped up inside...and so, after a rude awakening with a cold, wet nose to greet the side of his face which had been warmed by the covers that had been dragged up around his head, Tala would rise, pulling on everything that would ensure he was nice and warm before following the little Wolf to the doorway that would inevitably lead them through the corridors towards the Courtyard.
He had barely pushed the doors to the large entryway open when the little bundle of fur practically lunged out into the great outdoors... Admittedly, the weather seemed to be an improvement on the day before - it was still rather chilly, but the snow seemed to have stopped falling for the time being, so that was a start.
Stuffing his hands into his pockets, Tala would watch as Fea - clearly full of pent-up-energy bounded towards her usual 'spot' to do whatever she needed to before taking a 'mad-five-minutes' just racing around the courtyard. Even he couldn't stop the smile from creeping up onto his lips as he watched the pup enjoy what may very well have been her first snowfall?
Meanwhile, it had taken Patrick a little longer to stir that morning - he'd taken the liberty of asking around and had discovered that although Reese had indeed left, it wouldn't be forever and that she would hopefully return after a few days back in Valor with her family - he didn't pry for details, but to know she was coming back was enough to set his mind at ease.
He was infact the first to awaken, with Branwen needing a nudge or two before the White Raven was prepared to budge... As he left his room, the bird had begrudgingly fluttered down onto his shoulder where she now sat all puffed up - looking more like a fluffy snowball than a Raven... Rick took a moment to draw a portion of his scarf around her, but she still looked rather cold...
Bracing himself against the breeze as he opened the door, Patrick lifted his gaze to greet the day only to realise that he wasn't actually the first to set foot outside that morning and infact, the Shadowmancer whom he'd crossed paths with a few time was already outside with his young companion.
Fea stopped in her exploration of the Courtyard as she heard the door open and turned her head - with ears swiveled towards the individual as they stepped out into the cold. Immediately, the Wolf Cub turned her attention towards her Pack Brother as though asking permission, he'd spotted the male as well, but didn't seem as enthused to see the Diviner as she might have been...
Turning out to be quite the Peacekeeper of the pair, Fea bolted up towards the newcomer before grinding to a halt as something upon the male's shoulder seemed to perk into life - its beady eyes watching from a bowed head as Branwen leant forward on Patrick's shoulder, remembering from an encounter before how the male's 'Shadows' had lunged at her...
"Good Morning, Tala," although he felt a little out of sorts, Patrick wasn't one to ignore someone when he recognised them, "Up bright and early I see," he couldn't help but point out the obvious, having sworn most students liked to catch a few extra hours in bed on Free Days, "Who is this?" he would crouch down - much to Branwen's discontent as Fea seemed to hesitate in her advance, "I don't think we've had the pleasure?" he would hold out a hand, ready to pet the creature should she choose to approach,
"Patrick." Having hoped to have had the Courtyard to himself for a few minutes longer at least, Tala had to admit he was a little peeved to have his solace ruined so soon, but he would watch quietly as Patrick crouched down, allowing Fea the choice to advance if she wished, "Her name is Fea,"
"Fea?" Having grown up around 'Spirits' Patrick had learnt several different translations for the word and was a little surprised to hear that the little cub had been named after such, but knowing the Elementor, there had to be a reason for it and so he didn't pry, "What a pretty name," he would smile, watching as the cub approached, using his knee so she could stand up and investigate the strange puffball upon the male's shoulder...
"Back Off." With a Craark, Branwen would flick her wings out, making a jab towards the cub which would quickly scamper back to the safety of her Pack Brother who scooped her up into his arms,
"Apologies..." Bonking the Raven lightly upon the beak, Patrick would rise, dusting the snow from his knee before awaiting the glare from the Shadowmancer who no doubt cared deeply for the cub, "She gets grumpy when she's cold..." he shouldn't really have to make excuses for the bird, but if they helped...
"It's fine..." Tala had indeed frowned at the Raven's reaction towards the cub, but knew it wouldn't stop Fea from being curious - infact, rather than walking away, the Elementor instead moved closer, watching as the Cub now leaned out over his arms, her little nose twitching as she craned her neck ever closer to inspect the bird from the safety of her Pack Brother's embrace. "Curious little beastie isn't she?" Feeling Branwen puff herself up in disgust, the Diviner took the opportunity to reach out and pet the young Wolf, keeping an eye on the Raven on his shoulder so he was ready to react should she try to lunge for the cub again, "You up to much today? Or just out for necessities?" he perhaps knew the answer already, but it didn't hurt to pass the time a little,
"She won't leave me be until I let her out," Tala replied, watching as the powder-puff on the Diviner's shoulder never broke her gaze as she glared at the cub, "She gets cold quickly though, so we'll be back inside soon..."
"Ahh," Remembering that Tala wasn't really one for spending a lot of time in the company of others, Patrick would nod understandingly, "Well, if you fancy a walk, I'm heading down to the Marketplace, we could meet up sometime...hang out or something," he didn't really have a reason to want to go there, but it got him outside which was a good thing,
"I'll keep that in mind," He was tempted to reach out - much like the Diviner had - and try to pet the Raven, but with the way she had reacted already towards Fea, Tala was understandably reluctant... "...See you around then, maybe?" Hoping Patrick would catch his drift, the Shadowmancer would turn towards the large doors as though considering heading inside,
"Yep," Clearly his brief allocation of time was up and the Diviner would nod, adjusting his scarf once again before casting a small wave in the male's direction and taking his leave away from the Courtyard.
[ ~ Patrick Leaves Courtyard for the Marketplace? ~ ]
Tala would wait until the Diviner had disappeared out of sight before setting the Cub back down on the ground - it wouldn't be fair to drag her back inside before she was ready and so he would perch himself on one of the walls to wait as Fea initially watched Patrick leave before returning her attention to the small territory that was the Courtyard.

"Slow Down!" His voice was audible, yet slipped out as more of a hiss as Fea practically clawed her way out through the Courtyard Door as he pulled it open to leave... The chilly air always sent a tingle across his skin but as he stepped out from the warmer academy halls he couldn't hide his smirk as the young Wolf practically vaulted the steps before tearing around the Courtyard like she was mad.
"...Mad beast." Shaking his head, he adjusted his sleeves and rearranged his hood, letting it settle back on his shoulders before drawing a deep breath of fresh air. It would be a good day if he allowed it to be - Fea certainly seemed to be enjoying herself as she did yet another lap of the courtyard before grinding to a halt as something caught her attention... "What's up...?" It was rare for the Cub to just 'Stop' but before he could advance, she was off again, disappearing around the corner. "Hey!"
What was this strange scent? Nose to the ground she followed it closely, lifting her gaze as it started to grow stronger - it was familiar, yet as her eyes settled on the male as he leant upon the windowsill, Fea would drop to the ground, creeping closely and cautiously, her ears only flicking back to listen for her Pack Brother as Tala turned the corner.
"Fea!" With the cub back in his sights, Tala hissed her name - He was about to scold her for running off when his eyes settled upon the Teaching Assistant of his Beginner's Combat Class... The guy wasn't always the most approachable type and with Fea so far ahead of him, he knew he wouldn't be able to get to her before she got close enough for him to pick up on her scent... "Get back here"
Nope...With the Shifter in her sights, Fea wasn't going to listen... This guy smelt familiar to her and she just had to find out why... Her ears would flick back with Tala's hissing calls, but she was so close that she couldn't go back...not without answers at least...!

Tala Maxwell ~ Entering The Courtyard ~
Fea had leaned fractionally closer on her forepaws in an attempt to truly decipher the male's scent from a safer distance - it seemed the best thing to do when approaching a curious individual - but it was as he turned to face her that her eyes would widen, watching as a smirk appeared on his lips as he then melted down into a more familiar appearance and the last thing she'd ever expected a Human to do...!
What sent a prickle through her fur the most was the voice she heard as he lay down; her ears shot forward, trying to work out if she'd heard it from him or from somewhere else...but he'd spoken to her, right? Her tail dipping between her legs with uncertainty and she glanced back over her shoulder at her Pack Brother who wasted little time in closing the gap between them... The look on his face was uncertain - Tala was naturally protective of her and had called out for her to come back - but now his expression was narrowed - curious - yet guarded...
Turning back towards the Shifter now, she bowed her head, keeping her gaze averted, yet occasionally glancing up towards the large wolf as she took another cautious step towards him. "You spoke...?"
Tala could hear Fea's little nose snuffling the air, drinking in Gin's scent as she crept ever closer... her ears were focused directly upon the male and the Shadowmancer had to try and hold himself back from wanting to lunge in and snatch the pup away... Gin wouldn't hurt her...right? He'd noted the Shifter's acknowledging nod before he'd transformed, but it wasn't until he lay down that the Elementor relaxed a little - only a little - Larger Canines generally lay down to make themselves seem less threatening and to Fea, a Grown Wolf on his feet would still have towered over her at this point...
As Gin settled on the ground, the Cub's initial anxieties seemed to lessen slightly - she still remained cautious, advancing, then flinching back if he made any unexpected movement... Her little nose was non-stop and eventually she became so close that if he chose to reach out and bat her, she was well within range - but that didn't seem to concern her now.
She was all a quiver, her little tail somewhat horizontal and alert, yet swishing curiously, once again, she would glance back at the Shadowmancer for reassurance before looking back at Gin, her head tilted, "Not Wolf...But Wolf...?" She was truly baffled...
Tala's eyes watched carefully as Fea moved ever closer towards Gin until they were practically within touching distance... The pup seemed so cautious - yet excited to a point she was almost shaking, her little nose continuing to investigate the male before she decided to sit down, her head tilted - perhaps questioning how the Shifter was able to turn from man to wolf?
The 'assault from above' came with little warning to either party... The Shadowmancer's eyes - noting movement - flicked up towards the form as it flew from the window towards Gin who had by this time lay down on the ground to allow Fea to approach. With the unexpected impact landing just inches away from her, the Cub gave a startled yelp, spinning on the edge of a gold coin and scampering back towards her Pack Brother before whipping around the Elementor's legs and staring out from behind him to watch the outcome of the 'attack' from which she'd barely escaped...
No, he wasn't smiling...Not exactly, in fact, at the sight, Tala had stiffened, feeling a wave of static jolt through his body as he spotted the other canine - initially fearing the Husky had dropped down from above in an attack, he'd flinched, even taking a step forward before pausing as he realised the target of the creature's assault had instead been Gin, rather than Fea.
Crouching down, the Shadowmancer placed a reassuring hand on the Cub's head, scooping her up into his arms and holding her close to his chest as he watched the pair before him - He'd seen Canine with the Shifter a few times in the past and could only assume that as it had emerged from the window of the female dorms, that it had been a student? More likely his Sister?
[ - Enter into Courtyard via Rin's Tackle-Glomp - ]
The little wolf pup was clearly puzzled by his change and it made him grin a bit. Nodding a little, he debated on how to explain such a thing. It seemed that he was taking too long for the little pupโs taste because she stepped forward some more and spoke again, prompting him to continue. โYesโฆI am a wolf and I am a man. I can change when I wish.โ It was a simple explanation, but it did fit. He hoped that it wasnโt too confusing, but at the same time, he doubted that the young wolf would really understand. Caught up in his explanation and his thoughts, Gin was unaware of Rinโs agitation at being left out and was therefore caught off guard when she shifted and jumped through her open window to tackle him.
Rolling onto his back, he laughed at Rinโs playful attack, unaware that Fea and Tala had been scared out of their wits by his sisterโs sudden entrance โ or was it exit? โRin! Oof! You rascal!โ He laughed, his โlaughsโ coming out as huffs in his wolf form. Rolling over, he batted at her playfully with his paw. โYouโll scare the pupโฆโ He said, looking over to see Tala much closer now, the little female pup in his arms. It was clear that Tala had thought they would harm it, which only made him frown and shake his head a little bit โ as if they would harm an animal, and one of the same breeds! If the little pup had been a deer or something in the โpreyโ category, that would have been a different story, but even still.
Lifting his paw, he draped it over Rinโs form and โhuggedโ her close. Looking up at the pup, he gave off a playful energy so she would know that they meant no harm. โThis is my sister, Rin, sheโs very playfulโฆโ He said to the pup, hoping she would be somewhat reassured.
Upon landing on the ground with her brother, Rin was quickly scanning their surroundings in search for the puppy that was seemingly nearby. It took the Husky a moment to see a nearby person, said person holding the aforementioned cub in his arms. Just as Rin was about to try and approach the duo before she was swatted by her brothers paws, causing the Shifter to "laugh" as she'd try her best to escape the sudden assault. "Hey! No fair, you big dummy!!" She would declare while she crawled her way to freedom from paw batting. Shortly after though Gin would speak of "scaring the pup," to which Rin would return her focus to the boy with the little wolf.
Shaking herself off she'd slowly raise back onto her feet and just stare in their direction. Rin flinched for a moment when Gin then hugged her before introducing her. The Husky lowered her posture a little to appear less dangerous. "Well, I mean, I'm not gonna hurt her at least." A slight frown could be seen on her face, though if she were human it would be far more obvious. Although she was curious about the duo, Rin found her mind wandering back to her practice from earlier and decided to move from her brother to start heading back inside. "I'm going back inside. You guys have fun." She'd communicate to Gin before leaving to return to her Dorm.
Fea's ears perked up, then flicked outward as the Wolf explained that he was both Wolf And Man, having the ability to change between forms at will - the Cub found that quite curious as she herself had never known of such an ability... "Can I learn to do that?" She would tilt her head, doubtful, yet ever positive that she might just be able to one day speak to Tala properly before the question swiftly left her thoughts as the assault from above sent her skittering for the safety of her Pack Brother...
Now in the Shadowmancer's arms, Fea would allow her front paws to hang over the edge of Tala's arm as she watched the pair play - as always, she was ever so curious and with their sounds of excitement the Cub started to regret running away as she was now too high up to join in...
So, her name was Rin? Fea would tilt her head as Gin introduced the 'Sky-Predator' as his sister - by name - hugging the Husky close to show Fea had little to fear from her. At this point, the Cub would naturally try to squirm from her Pack-Brother's grasp in the hopes of re-joining them, but inevitably lifted her gaze as Tala gave a denying grumble and held her a little tighter - Clearly the Elementor had failed to understand she was safe and instead wanted to protect her as best he could - or perhaps in reality, he didn't want to drop her incase she was harmed by the fall? She was uncertain, but breathed a quiet whine as she watched the newcomer's features narrow at the Elementor's protectiveness before Rin took her leave of them...
Maybe he'd been a little too quick to pick Fea up? For as the Husky came to the end of her little tussle with her brother, she soon adopted the same 'less-threatening' posture as Gin had when the Cub first encountered him... Perhaps feeling a little guilty, Tala averted his eyes for a second before glancing back as the hound began to make her way back inside... "We should probably get going too...I'll see you in Class, Gin," Fea continued to wriggle in his grip, letting out a little sort of whimpered 'Yip' towards the Wolf as her Pack-Brother turned away from them,
"No...not yet!" Fea let out a disappointed whine as Tala gave his farewells to Gin before turning to leave, "I want to speak more!" For a moment, she proceeded to squirm before pushing herself upright so her paws rested on Tala's shoulder and she could see Gin again as the Elementor started to walk away, "I'll come back and play soon! Hopefully..." She would watch the Wolf for as long as she could see him, craning her neck as far as she could as they turned the corner back into the Courtyard...then she gave a grumble and curled back round - perhaps sulking a little as Tala went for the doors to head back inside...
It was difficult to tell which part of the young wolf forced its way out of the door first - Using a mixture of her muzzle and her paws, Fea squeezed herself out through the gap before darting out of view as Tala finally made his first step outside.
He wasn't overly concerned that she'd promptly 'run off' for he knew exactly where she would head - Even though it was a few months ago, Fea would still charge around the corner and along the side of the Academy building to investigate the same spot where she had run into Gin and Rin that time... Taking his time, the Shadowmancer would adjust his hood so it sat somewhat neatly upon his shoulders before setting off.
Hearing the familiar thundering of paws rushing from his right, he did not break his step as he made his way across the courtyard, rather, he kept going - side-stepping as the Wolf lunged for him, both paws out infront of her, ready to cushion her landing as the male dodged her playful attack.
"Are you a Wolf, or a Horse?" he mused, commenting about her footfalls as Fea continued on her run - making several wide circles around the Elementor before her ears suddenly perked upright and her eyes widened as he conjured a small, shadowy hare which shot on ahead of her. She needed no permission to give chase and promptly charged on after the little shade, earning another smirk from the male as he walked on...

โฒ The power to protect The wisdom to lead
So far, Griselda feels like she has been doing well. She has attended all her classes, been training and studying to the best of her ability, and doing everything possible to being a good student. Everything that she used to be, but a better version of her old self. She supposes this is a part of growing up. There is a time when she thought that she was all grown up, but then some life experiences outside of the comforts of her home nearly broke her down. She had to make the choice to move forward or remain broken. For a while, she was living out the latter option. However, time's healing properties eventually took effect, and now she is doing her best to move forward. She is still not entirely confident with herself, but she is trying to improve her outlook on life and hopefully living a day at time will continuously make her better. There is no class for her to attend today and she is not feeling hungry at the moment. However, it would not be productive for her to stay in her room, so she decided to take a walk around campus. This eventually led her to the courtyard, where she stopped by the fountain and simply stared at continuously flowing water like it was having a hypnotic effect on her.

All was quiet. When everything is quiet, that typically translates as a good thing. Of course, in a different setting than the one Griselda is in and in another situation where silence spells doom, she would be in a state of dread. However, she is at the academy, so the sound of silence is meant to relax her, which it did. That is, until an explosion took place. Not at the academy, so there was no danger for her, the other students and faculty. Her eyes searched for any signs where the explosion took place, using her ears like a guiding star to find the general place where the explosion took place. Soon she saw the smoke. Is that where City Hall is? Did an accident took place or a deliberate attack? Could this be a repeat of tragic events? Griselda did not do much the last time something horrible happened, and she cannot stay at the academy knowing people are probably hurt and need help. She left her spot at the courtyard, leaving the academy and proceeded to make her way toward City Hall.
