Azure eyes slowly opened, and a yawn escaped the woman’s lips as she slowly sat up. She glanced around at her surroundings and realized it was the next morning. The day prior, Gianna had gotten up, not feeling her best. It wasn’t like she was doing well so far, to begin with, due to the fact that she and Gin still weren’t on speaking terms, but she had felt a bit dizzy with a pounding headache. It didn’t help that she hadn’t gotten much sleep that night. When she got to the academy, she was almost instantly sent back home by Ezra, who was just stopped by to drop off some documents. Gianna protested since she had a class to attend to, but Ezra almost instantly told a staff member to have a note sent to Gin to cover her class. It had left her no choice but to actually write a note that could be delivered. Once she had written down what she needed, the elementor went home and made herself some hot soup and some tea. The female didn’t remember when she knocked out, but she knew that it had to have been for a while since it was morning once again.

Running a hand through her blonde locks, she let off a small sigh and got out of her bed. She was feeling better, but her mood still wasn’t the best. After she stopped by the bathroom to splash her face with water and fix herself a bit, she walked down the stairs to the kitchen. Gianna went to lean on the counter and open her book of recipes to decide what to make. The side of her head rested on her hand as she silently looked through the pages. Her eyes seemed to be a bit dull for a few days, they were like that unless she was with Ven. He and Ezra seemed to notice instantly, but she just remained silent and shrugged the questions off for a while. There had more important things to do than to bring up her problems, like cooking breakfast for her family. Although, she did hope that she could speak with Gin at some point.

Gin was used to having visions now that his sleep schedule was under control. They came to him much like a dream would come to anyone else. The only difference was that everyone’s dreams were fabricated fantasies while Gin’s visions were possible futures that had a high probability of coming to fruition under the right circumstances. This normally didn’t bother him – He’d have a vision about some unknown person he’d never met and ponder over their possible fate but resign himself to the fact that he couldn’t help them, simply because he didn’t know them. So, when Gin had a vision of someone he knew he took those visions very seriously…


A shifter ran through the trees, her tail trailing behind her as she ran. Her nose was guiding her, as she sniffed the air and made curious little noises in a shifter language he couldn’t understand. Seeing from a distance, he frowned at the sight of the creature – he knew her…

Following along, he watched as she went deeper and deeper into the trees, her small, dark form blending into the shadows of the bushes and fallen trunks of trees, the forest’s natural cover helping her avoid possible predators – not that there were any about as far as he could see.

Eventually, she came to a large tree, one that bore red, ripe apples that were ready for picking. Walking closer to the shifter, he watches as she scampered up the tree, her long tail helping balance her as she went from branch to branch to reach the top.

From there, the vision shifted, he was close to her, sitting up on a branch. She happily munched on the sweet fruit, but as she did, her ears twisted and perked up, hearing something, a hum of sorts…After a quick search for the source, she located the noise. Suspecting it was a wasp or bees’ nest, Gin waited with a bit of amusement, only to see that what she found was no nest…

With smaller tendril-like branches crisscrossing over it like a nest, there was nestled an item of some sort…But as the shifter reached out to take it, the vision jumped again. This time, there was a pulse of energy, a great flash of light as an explosion of epic proportions ripped through the forest, obliterating all in its path…


Startled awake, crying out in alarm, panting heavily, sweating profusely from what he’d witnessed, Gin’s hands went to chest and face. He’d felt the heat of the light…felt his body disintegrate into pieces…Scrabbling from his bed, he didn’t notice his sister nearby or her startled expression. He needed to get to the forest! He needed to find her NOW!

Throwing on his clothes as quickly as he could, Gin ran from the room and scrambled down the stairs, but as he ran past the kitchen, he caught sight of Gianna, standing in the kitchen cooking. Skidding to a halt, he felt his stomach drop and his heart ache. Racing over to her, he nearly collided with her as he wrapped his arms around her from behind and held her close, his face pressed against her shoulder.

“I’m so sorry, Mom! I was such a stupid brat and I hurt you and I’m sorry!” He said in a rush, his emotions as plain as day. “I want to say more, but I have to go…If I get out of this, then we’ll talk more, okay? I love you.” Gin didn’t give Gia a chance to say or do anything before he ran from the kitchen and out of the house. It was only after he’d ran out into the street that he shifted into his wolf form and ran as fast as he could toward the Academy…He needed to find Thanya!

~ Rin awoke on new day ~

After her last Knit Class, Rin was already finding herself feeling homesick... Not for her "home," but Gia's home... The short time she spent there was far more than she'll admit to the adoptive parents in comparison to her blood-related parents. Though that's not much to compete against. She found herself spending the entirety of yesterday back in Gia's where she could stay near her brother. And to an extent... She was worried. He had been acting unusual lately. No doubt he would try to keep his concerns from her if she tried to pry so the best she could do is keep a watchful eye on her big brother for a while.

She was awoken to what she could only guess to be a males scream. It sounded like... Gin? "Brother?" She whispered to herself in a concerned tone before hopping from her bed and making her way from her room over to Gin's... When she opened his door she saw him rush to get dressed and sprint past her downstairs, causing the girl to leap back and let out a quiet "Eep!" Alarm bells were ringing in the young girls head, something on the males face practically screaming fear of some sort... What the hell? Where's he going?? She'd think while making her way down the stairs, carefully not to make noise... Then her ears picked up his words from the kitchen and right then and there, Rin's face went pale. "W...Wait... 'IF?' What does he mean 'IF??'" She'd mutter as she would begin to shiver, her worries filled her mind as Rin watched her brother sprint out of the house.

A few seconds of standing there was all she could take. She'd considered rushing up to get her clothes... But knowing her brother, he would be long gone by that time. Instead Rin sprant down the stairs and through the front door, not even glancing towards their adoptive mother as she left, still in her bed clothes in order to give chase. In order to improve her odds, Rin would shift into her Husky form and focus all of her senses on tracking Gin, she had to know what it was that had him rush off so recklessly..!

The Elementor female was busy working on the pancake batter, she was in her own little world. There was a lot on her mind, it was to the point where everything else was just white noise. She tried her best to focus on her task at hand, but her efforts just led to her letting out more sighs when she couldn’t seem to push them away. It was only when she heard the sound of pounding steps and felt a body collide with her forcefully, that she allowed her mind bubble to pop. Blinking, Gianna noticed that it was Gin who had now wrapped his arms around her and held her close. What really left her speechless was the fact that he called her Mom. Her azure eyes widened as she wrapped her arms around him and processed his words. This was the first they had spoken to each other or made any real contact in a few days. Gianna’s mind was running wild, in a different way as she listened to him frantically speak. What did he mean if he got out of this? What is this?

Furrowing her brows, she was about to reply when Gin let go and ran out. ”Gin?! Where are you going? Don’t leave! What do you mean if you get out of this?!” It was now the woman’s turn to be frantic as she stopped her cooking so nothing would be left burning and threw off her apron, preparing to go after him. There was trouble. There had to be. From the corner of her eye, she noticed another figure race down the stairs and out the front door, the only difference was they didn’t stop like Gin did. The figure was none other than Rin. Panic filled Gianna’s body at the fact that now both of the siblings were running toward possible danger. ”NO RIN, WAIT!” The female sprinted out, only to see nothing but dust that was left in the younger girls trail.

Gianna’s breathing became sporadic as her fatigued mind was now spiraling, she just ran. Past the front area and then the gates of her home. There was no telling where they went, only the fact that she saw Rin run in the direction of the forest. This caused her to panic even more as it was advised to avoid the forest due to certain events occurring, she didn’t know the details, but it was enough for her to conclude that her children did not need to be there. Looking around, she had to figure out how to find them as quickly as she could. Glancing around quickly, she had no choice but to gather as many rocks and minerals as she could to start her off so that she could create a pillar to shoot her off. From there, she could use the ground from the uninhabited areas to aid her. Despite being desperate and worried, it wouldn’t be rational to use the ground underneath her because of the neighbors nearby. Holding her arms out, she closed her eyes to concentrate.

The sound of small earthen minerals shaking could be heard as they began to gather below her and around her. Her tired body and mind weren’t speeding up the process at all, but she needed to try her best. A small amount of time passed before she could gather enough, at her normal state it would have taken seconds to a minute. She was just glad it didn’t take her any longer than it already had. Some of what was collected had created a platform below her that she was now standing on, the rest stayed on the actual ground nearby. With everything now in order, she just needed to shoot herself up. Taking a deep breath, she moved her outstretched hands swiftly behind her, clenching her fists. The platform instantaneously shot up and launched Gianna, the rest of the minerals following along with her now airborne body.

Gianna hadn’t remembered much after the events of the previous day. All she could recall was after the bright light appeared. She heard the cries of pain coming from Gannon’s companion Brageet, she heard more yelling, some of it her own as she called out to Rin and Gin. Then she remembered finding not only her kids but Sokea and Thanya. The blonde had utilized her raiment again to encase the tree with rock. It took a lot out of her seeing as she wanted to make the barrier around it as strong and sturdy as she could in her condition. Once she was finished, she vaguely heard what Gannon had asked of her. A ringing in her ear was battling with his voice.

When Gianna had nodded to Gannon then went to Gin to start scolding him, the ringing became louder as her vision began to blur. The rest was black. She had woken up the next day, rested but not feeling as if she was. There was still a lot of sleep to make up for and her stamina still wasn’t at its highest. Not to mention she was just…upset. Words couldn’t describe how angered and troubled she was. It was on a new level in comparison to the days previous. When she went downstairs, she cooked something simple. The female didn’t bother speaking a word to Gin, Rin, or Sokea. Her face was emotionless, as she ate and cleaned up.

It was usually her off day, but she knew that she had to watch all three of the kids.. It was her job to make sure that they went to see Gannon so they could discuss what went on yesterday. When she was done, she went back downstairs and barely looked at the three.. ”Come. We’re going to Gannon’s office. Do not protest. I’m already not happy, you’ve done enough.” Those were the only words that left her mouth before she allowed silence to take over once more.

~ Rin awoke on new day ~

"Ugh... Stupid, stupid Catherine..." The girl mumbled as she lifted herself from her bed. Even oversleeping was risky after yesterday, Rin felt downright horrible. Wandering through her room she would get herself all dressed up. Wearing her usual travelling clothes and lifting the blue hood over her head, letting her fluffy ears poke through the two small gaps at the top. She'd hesitated to step out the room in fear of those looks of disappointment... It wasn't as bad but it reminded her of "home."

Knowing not to hold anything up as they had somewhere to be, Rin moved slowly from her room, to the stairs, to the kitchen. Not a word came out of the Shifter the whole entire, nor even any attempt to make eye contact. She'd barely even pick at her food and when the time came and their adoptive mother spoke, the words alone just made Catherine feel worse. Right now she didn't even want to even imagine, let alone look at her brothers face... It's likely she'd break down on the spot at this point. With a nod and a tug of the hood the Husky Shifter followed along, who knows what's about to happen today...

Curled up on a nest of pillows and blankets on the floor of his bedroom, Gin awoke with a yawn and a groan. After the events of the day before, Gin wasn’t really in a good mood – what else was new- but now, after having slept on the floor, he knew that the day was going to go badly for him. Sokea had been ordered by Gannon to stay the night at Gianna’s. This wasn’t a problem. The problem was that the guest room, was now Catherine’s bedroom, which meant that the boys were left to share a bed.

Prior to the break-up, this wouldn’t have been an issue. But with the tension still between him and Sokea? Nope. Gin had offered Sokea the bed and opted to sleep on the floor. He didnt regret it, but his back was a little worse for ware as a result. Getting up, Gin stretched his aching muscles and groaned lightly. Looking toward the bed, he sighed a little, seeing Sokea still sound asleep.

In the past, Gin would wake Sokea up with a few kisses and gentle caresses of his hair. The temptation to do so now was very strong but he knew he needed to keep his distance for a while. In the end, he couldnt fully resist gently waking up Sokea, however. Reaching out, he caressed Sokea’s hair but refrained from leaning in to kiss his forehead.

“Wake-Up, Sokea…we have to go…” Once Sokea was awake enough, Gin offered him one of his hooded sweaters – it was getting chilly outside – before pulling one on himself. Leading Sokea downstairs, they entered the kitchen to find a very upset, but silent, Gianna and an equally upset Catherine. Rin’s ears were down, and her tail dropped which meant that she knew damn well how much trouble she was in. But Gin’s ears and tail matched hers when he realized that Gianna was even more upset now than she’d been the last few days.

Hardly touching his breakfast, Gin didn’t say anything to any of them and when Gianna ordered them all to follow her, he didn’t hesitate to do so. Giving Sokea his arm to hold, he led him out of the house, Rin close behind as they followed Gianna towards the Academy – today was not going to be a good day.

Sokea didn't know what to make of sleeping at Gianna's house. One side of him was extremely excited about it, because that's also Gin's house; the other side was the melancholy he felt from all the memories of sharing a bed with him. He offered his bed to Sokea while he slept on the floor. This didn't sit too well with Sokea, but he didn't have the time or energy to argue against it. If anything, he was glad to sleep on a bed after such a long day.

Much to his surprise, he woke up to Gin's sweet voice, feeling his gentle touch. There was a temptation to lean up an kiss him, but there relationship isn't what it used to be it. It simply isn't anymore. "Good morning Gin..." These were the only words he could find to utter out. His voice still had a sleepy tone, not ready to be fully awake yet. But it is what it is, and he has to deal with the rest of the day as it will play out. When Gin offered one of his sweaters, he felt his cheeks warm up a little. He knew it was just the human thing to do since it was going to be a chilly day; but still, wearing his sweater was pretty intimate for the blind boy. Putting it on over his clothes, it was apparent that it was way over his size. It felt like a big warm hug all around his body, and it smelled like Gin too.

After Gin led him downstairs, they were to eat and head to Gannon's office at the academy. It would be an understatement to say that Gia was... upset at the three of them. After eating his breakfast, he thanked Gia for the food then headed with the rest of them to the academy. Activating Gin's link, he didn't want to slow anyone down on their way there; so he made sure he could see where they were going. He would've loved to have held onto Gin the entire way, but he can only get away with that for so long.

The large household that usually had a decent amount of chatter at certain times most days, was mainly silent. The only sound was Gianna’s soft humming as she proceeded to make tea as well as a very light and nutrient filled breakfast. The moment she had found out that Gin wasn’t feeling well, she simply told him to go straight back to his bed and rest. No ifs, ands, or buts. There was no way he was going to go to the academy, let alone do anything to tasking if he wasn’t feeling his best. That would only bring his health down even more. The blonde had been about to get ready and head out to go to the academy, but something in her made her want to stay and care for him.

Instead of leaving for the academy, she wrote a note and went toward Ezra’s place. Since he had been leaving to run errands, she requested he deliver the note on his way so that her students knew that class would be postponed. After picking up somethings, she headed home to make Gin some tea as well as something that was said to be good for sickness. Once finished, she placed everything on a tray and made her way up the large flights of stairs, down the corridor, and to Gin’s room. With a light knock, she entered and placed the tray down on the nightstand next to the bed. ”All done. Try and drink all of the tea. I put some medicine in it as well, just so you have some more in your system and it's easier to get down. If you don’t feel like eating now, it’s fine. But know that it’s there for later or whenever you do get hungry.”

Gin was in a world of misery. His nose was clogged up and runny, he couldn’t breathe, his head was pounding, he was cold and then hot, shivering, sweating…he ached, he was tired…he was just plain miserable. He’d attempted to get out of bed and go to the Academy, but Gianna had insisted that he go back to bed. After writing a note for Leonora to let her know what was wrong, he shuffled back to bed and flopped into the mass of pillows and blankets that were piled on his bed.

By the time Gianna came into his room with a tray of food and medicine for him, he’d devolved into a whimpering sick puppy. Eyes watering, he looked up at Gianna miserably. Releasing a heavy sigh, he nodded a little bit. “I..I really don’t feel well, Mom…” He whimpered weakly. Gin knew that Gianna was still upset with him over their confrontation about Sokea and his actions in the forest and he didn’t blame her. But he wished that he could mend the tears in their relationship – he missed her.

Turning his face toward her, he wore his emotions unguarded. Being sick did that to a person – made them unguarded. “I’m really sorry…I…I shouldn’t have said, or done a lot of things…I love you so much Gia…you brought me into your home and your heart and I hurt you…” Feeling miserable, not only physically but mentally and emotionally, he rested his chin on his pillow and closed his eyes.

“I…know that you’re upset with me…and you should be…I just hope that you can forgive me…and love me like you did before, someday...” Gin knew damn well that Gianna loved him, but he suspected that she loved him differently now and that hurt him…He just hoped he could make it up to her somehow.

His little whimpers made the female’s heart ache in sympathy. Gin never did like getting sick. Sighing softly, her blew eyes met with her son’s miserable ones. It always made her very happy when he called her ‘mom’. Giving him a soft look, she folded her arms and nodded in understanding. ”I know, Gin… If I could take it away, I would…you know that.” No matter the situation or circumstance, if she could keep those she loved from suffering, then she gladly would in a heartbeat. Seeing that he was in a very emotional and weakened state, she went to pull up a chair and take a seat next to the bed so that she could keep him company and make sure he was alright.

When he looked to her and began speaking from his heart, she listened in silence. It had been so long and there was still this awkward air. It had taken a while for Gianna to take care of herself again and actually linger around her family for a longer period of time. When it did finally start getting better, it wasn’t the same. Everyone in the house knew that things weren’t the same, that there was some sort of awkward tension in the air. One thing that hadn’t change, was her love for Gin. When he revealed that he wanted her to love him as she did before, her heart broke a bit as she teared up.

”Oh, my sweet boy…my little prince, my love for you never changed. What happened really hurt me. It led me to a low point I didn’t think I would have to experience again, but it never changed the fact that to me, you were still my son. Maybe, that’s why it hurt so much. But it’s also why I forgive you. I know deep down, you didn't mean to or intentionally upset me.” Reaching out, she stroked his cheek lightly before moving her hand and petting his ears, cooing softly. "I'm sorry for not doing my job as a mother as well as I should have."

Gin hated knowing that he’d hurt his mother. She was one of the few people in the world that truly cared for him and he’d hurt her. That knowledge hurt his heart more than anything. Despite the ache in his chest, he leaned into her touch and inched closer to the edge of the bed to be as close to her as possible. But hearing her words, he was quick to shake his head and raise it as much as he could to look her in the eye.

“Gianna…mother…you are perfect.” He stated sincerely and with all the emotion he could. “I was a brute…I never should have said any of those things.” Truth be told, it was hard to remember what he’d said or why. Sokea, well, he hadn’t been worth hurting his mother over and now that he was gone, Gin wouldn’t make that mistake again, not ever, for anyone. “I’ll never hurt you again, mom…I love you.” Sitting up a bit, he reached out and hugged Gianna weakly, sniffling a bit. “I’m sorry…I’m so sorry…”

Rin's plans were simple today. Wake her brother for the Elective he is meant to help with, and sleep. Oddly enough she hadn't even seen him enter the Academy and thus decided to hurry her way over in her Husky form. For once, she would be the one nagging him! About time he had the experience of being on the receiving end of the wake-up calls. Admittedly though, she had a feeling something was off.

Once she reached the house the young Shifter reverted to her human shape and knocked thrice before she'd let herself in. "Hi Ma, Pa, Br-" Rin choked at realisation of her words. Like, they were pretty much her family now... But surely it's weird to refer to them as... That? Besides, maybe they're not home... Then why was she able to get inside? ...Hopefully no-one heard her. Perhaps she was thinking too much. Shaking herself of the light snow that rested on her head and shoulders Rin closed the door behind her and made her way upstairs and towards her brothers room.

"I'm so sorry" Was all the girl heard as she'd walked into the doorway. Following she'd seen Gin with his arms around their adoptive mother. Catherine could only stand there in total silence, her ears hanging low with worry. Was something wrong that she was unaware about? Or was this just something else she happened to walk in on? Maybe it was about... That day. Maybe he was still regretting it. "...Brother?" She asked with a stammer as her throat seemed to tighten, like her body was demanding she said nothing.

”Shh…nobody is perfect… don’t make yourself miserable of this anymore. What’s done is done… we can’t go back and change anything from those days. Besides, as I said, I already forgive you for it. All we can do now is accept the past and move forward. I know that you won’t hurt me or would never intentionally do so. I love you and trust you, my sweet boy. Let’s not waste any more time dwelling on the past and enjoy our time together as a family instead. Alright?” When Gin sat up to hug her, she cooed softly and moved to sit slightly on the bed and hold him tightly. She had been sick for a while, she doubted she would get sick again.

Moving her head, she placed a soft kiss on his head and rubbed his back. ”I know, darling….I know. You’re such a sweet and lovely boy. I forgive you...” They stayed like that. Holding him in her arms brought so much warmth to her heart. When she heard a familiar voice from the door, she looked to see Catherine. Her eyes softened as she looked at her. ”Rin? Darling, what are you doing home so early?” Reaching out a hand, she gave a welcoming smile to see if she wanted to join the embrace. ”Come here.”

Gianna was the best mother in the world. She as so kind and caring, so genuine…he loved her so much and was so grateful to have her in his life. Hugging her close, he nuzzled right into her, so thankful to have her with him in that moment and to hear that she understood and forgave him for what had happened between them. Releasing a sigh of relief, he felt loads better than he had before, at least emotionally – physically, he was a giant aching snot ball…

Hearing Rin’s little voice from the door, his ears perked up. Looking toward the door, he gave her a small smile. “Hey…” He looked up at Gianna and smiled a bit, glad to see her continuing to reach for Catherine, who was a bit stubborn and slow to trust, but for good reason. When he sensed that Rin might hesitate, he held out his arm too. “Come here you puff ball…join in he family hug.” Grinning a bit, he suspected that Rin would get a little ruffled by the nickname, but it couldn’t be helped – when she’d been a pup, she’d been a literal puff ball, so he was justified in calling her one.

Once Rin came over, he reached out to pull her into the group hug, happy that she was accepting Gianna into her life and her heart. Rin had been hurt for so long, she deserved all the love in the world, and he had no doubt that Gianna and Ven would be the ones to help her open up, trust and love again. “Love you both, so, so much…” Right now, this was all he needed...no boyfriends or girlfriends, none of that drama. For now, just having his sister and his mother in his arms was enough for him...
