"Oh noooo," Merry lamented worriedly as she checked the clock on her phone for what had to have been the dozens time in the last quarter hour. "Why is happening?" All the planning, all the double and triple checking with the delivery agency, and still, still they were late! It was inexcusable.
The booth, this whole thing had originally been Alpinely's idea, and it had been a wonderfully festive one. Candy grams! Halloween themed ones. They had ordered up a whole bunch of them, and the plan had been to let students come up and fill some out, addressing them to friends or loved ones, and the student council would go around handing them out. Just a nice little treat for the school.
Fool proof, right?
Well, apparently not. The delivery truck with the grams and the candy hadn't...quite arrived yet.
Which left a certain redheaded master of whispers standing beside an empty table of lies and shattered dreams. And people were starting to show up... "Oh crap."
OOC HI! This is an open rp for any students or horseman that happen to be wondering around the grounds of the school. Please come and investigate or say hello, and if you stick around, maybe something interesting will happen!

Merry, looking entirely harried at this point (Except for her actual hair, because Charm had done a wonderful job of braiding it.), could only blink at the kitsune, not entirely sure why he was familiar to her before she recalled the student council election, and the gossip... A small frown tugged at her lips before she shook her head. "It's not just a table, there was supposed to be-"
Toki's arrival, and her disappointment, jerked the chimera's attention in her direction. "Ah, no. You're on time, there was just a slight, um, hiccup." Her tail flicked behind her, betraying her agitation with the entire situation. Where in Jack's name was that damned delivery truck?!
Ah, Charmain! A look of abject relief flooded pale, scale kissed features as Merry spotted the petite monster ghoul, and she reached for a dainty hand when she was within reach. "Yes, there are supposed to be things. There's supposed to be candy, and cute little tags to fill out so that candy can be delivered. And it was supposed to be here twenty minutes ago, and it hasn't arrived yet." The last was growled through clenched teeth, fur and feathers lifting irritably before the ghoul caught herself, took a breath, and smoothed a hand down her front.

A flock of bats had been hurriedly advancing towards the table but had then suddenly transitioned to spiraling patterns of flight in place 9 feet away. As the flock of multiple pairs of flapping wings disappeared, Alpinely started appearing in her usual humanoid form. Then, the vampire approached the table with a concerned look as she took in the surroundings. The expected delivery of candy grams clearly hadn't arrived yet. "Um, hmmmm, could we perhaps occupy the wait time by taking names of creeple who arrive before the delivery and quantities of blank grams to reserve for each?" she suggested optimistically to her fellow Student Council while pulling out a notepad from one of her jacket pockets. "Then, when the delivery arrives, some of us can call names to distribute the noted number of grams for each early creep that made a reservation? And, some of us can 'run the -- well, free of charge -- register' so to speak and distribute grams according to new quantity requests?" Also, Alpinely sent waves of her notepad free hand in cheerful greeting to fellow students arriving in the venue for this having been geared toward being festive candy-gram arrangement; it was starting to get busy but so far not in a way that was initially planned.

"Whoa-oooof!" Paely exclaimed as she fell forward, face thankfully after hands. The reaper sorceress glared back at, well, she saw nothing obvious about the ground to be glaring at as the perpetrator for her fall, so she just estimated and glared at a probably close enough to where she tripped spot on the ground.
And then, as she went about standing back up, she moved her not quite glare's focus from said spot to Noelle, her canine familiar and supposedly friend, who was now rolling across said spot in laughter. "Paely," Noelle had lately taken to playing around with the pronunciation of part of her name for a reason or multiple that she still did not process; and she has been trying much harder to ignore this oddness that hopefully was not to become an annoying routine, "did you just decide to wishfully attempt to shapeshift into a canine?" Paely also did not laugh at Noelle's joking question just now.
She looked to be the picture of all seriousness as she stepped toward Noelle next. At first, Noelle paused her rolling and just leisurely stared up at the statue still figure of Paely above her. Noelle posed another question after a few beats of a moment, this one sounding slightly nervous as she shifted to a belly down position without taking her gaze off her usually non-threatening reaper sorceress pal, "Didn't you say you wanted to see what that announced candy-gram event is about?"" She crawled back a little when she sensed Paely's foremost step inch forward slightly.
"Paely, don't be mad," Noelle still had the audacity to toss her friend this mid-giggle taunt in tone as she started a flee attempt while Paely's form abruptly moved and surged toward her.
And Paely succeeded in scooping Noelle up and into her arms with a devious grin, joking back to her friend, "Why, are you actually hiding access to the secret to canine shapeshifting, Noelle?"

Ekaterina wandered up to the slowly gathering crowd around the stall, looking curiously at the situation. After a moment of studying the situation, she walked up to the table, and glanced at the young woman at it. "I see there seems to be... a bit of a mishap with the advertised services. Is there anything I can do to help?" She looked concerned, seeing that the other girl seemed extremely distressed, or possibly just plain stressed.
She might not be able to do MUCH, but Katya would try to help out where she could. "Is there a phone number, maybe, for the delivery company you could call, to see if they have an explanation as to why the products have not arrived?" She pulled out her skellyphone, ready to offer it for the call, if the other young woman didn't, maybe, have hers on hand.

Laran had taken to visiting Amityville Academy now and again. She'd made wonderful acquaintances the last few times she'd dropped by and wanted more. You could never have enough friends after all! And give that she was unfamiliar with a lot of things, what better place to learn than a school? Though why couldn't she learn about this at the Dusk was a mystery in and of itself, but there were a lot of things she wasn't familiar with, including but not limited to: personal space, volume control, and whatever this unfolding event was. Even if she wasn't hidden behind her mask, it was easy to maintain that staunch confidence given her curiosity.
She did recognize a number of faces thanks to prom, emboldening her all the more to approach. "ALPINELY!!!" the war mare called out before acknowledging the others present. She grinned, though it would not be visible behind the feline mask, but her glee carried in her voice, "GREETINGS!"

She seemed, at best, quite overwhelmed by this point. So much so that she didn't even really register the arrival of a couple of the other student council members, not until Sludge had crawled out from beneath the table and offered over a bag of pumpkin seeds. Merry stared at it for a few moments before lifting crimson eyes to his face, brows creased in confusion. "What's this for?" Why was he still dressed like that...?
Everyone was talking, but Merry managed to focus on a few individuals. With a frown she turned to look at Ekaterina as she asked if there was anything she could do to help, fingers tangling in the hem of her skirt. "I don't think so. Not unless you can manifest a bunch of candy," she said with a panic edged chuckle. "We could try to call, um. I think I might have the..." her voice trailed off as she bent to grab her bag from behind the table.
She paused in her search to eye Spinar as he wandered over, but it was Toki that managed to make her smile for real. "I do appreciate every's patience. It's not just the grams we're missing, though..."
In the distance, a sound managed to catch the chimera's attention. Pale ears flicked up, twitching this way and that before she managed to figure out which direction it was coming from. Squinting, she tilted her head as she stared out across the lawn, past the gates, and she could have sworn she saw something out there. Something that was kicking up one hell of a dust cloud.
"Hey, do you guys see that?"

Ekaterina sighed and said "Unfortunately, I can not manifest candy in any way, not a little, let alone a lot. I am terribly sorry I can not be of more use to you." She blinked a little, surprised that the other ghoul had not actually thought of calling already. She had asked, assuming the answer would be yes. She had thought it would make the other ghoul look official and more in charge and in control of the situation, but she did not say that, because she did not want to ruin Merry's image, nor her own for that matter.
She did find it odd that her offer to help in some way was not worth a smile, just a nervous sounding chuckle, but she did not comment on that either. Instead, she just looked at the crowd, wondering if anyone she knew would be coming, and smiled to see Toki nearby. She moved over to the adorable student, and said "Hello, Toki. Hoping to send some one a candy gram?" Katya asked, amused, and gave her a wide grin. "I have some to send to a few friends, I think. Treats for friends are definitely worth a few seeds, yes?"
Merry's words caught her attention again, and she looked up, startled, in the direction the chimera was looking. She blinked slowly, and wrinkled her nose, staring at the dust cloud. "What in Halloween could be causing that?" She tilted her head, and swallowed a little. "It would have to be quite large to kick up that much dust, and yes I definitely see it too..."
