Any excuse to distance herself from the specters of the past, temporary or not, was good enough for Nahori. She muttered a small, "Excuse me," to Psykgi, Eridia, and Static. For the blueblood alone, though, she made an attempt at a smile before moving away with Sarcel. The empathy on his face was noticeable and she did appreciate it.
"Oh," was the first word out of Nahori's mouth moments later after they'd received their warning from Glamis. "Ah... I mean... yes sir, Lieutenant. I'll keep an eye on him..." The orangeblood's eyes dropped momentarily to the ground.
If she was lucky, he wouldn't cause any issue and she wouldn't have to be put on the spot. Looking at him, though... he had troublemaker written all over him.
Ugh.
Nahori let her eyes wander to anyone else, though they landed more often on trolls who made her uncomfortable than not—Eridia and that seadweller included.

"It's Pyrero, but good to know I've gone viral enough for a celeb like you to get my first name right." Got an expert's opinion, though, and the confirmation that talk got out. Two birds, one stone, yadda yadda. But he wasn't sure how he felt about it. He watched Glamis move off with one of the military stiffs, probably to tattle or gossip or whatever. "I'm always down to compare notes," he called after, "I'm sure you've got my number!" And everything else about him.
Still, a part of him felt a twitch that could almost be called annoyance. How many eyes were on him expecting the worst after he did one whole thing? While lowbloods got off the hook for treason? Lowblood sympathizing at its worst. Tch. Whatever.
He was only half paying attention when the small fry responded to him. Really, they only caught his attention when his own voice played back at him. Since they were also talking to someone else, some baby juggalo, he leaned on Acteon's head even more. "Oh, s**t, you weren't kidding about that talent s**t, eh, pipsqueak?" Kid like that could spook so many people at a gig like this... That'd be hilarious.
"They definitely sounded like..." Someone trapped in a memory, the only thing left of an otherwise-melted corpse. A parrot-call from purgatory. "something too complicated for a wiggler to understand," he snickered.

While most chose to crowd immediately, Hemera took notes on the outer fringes. She started with the state of the outside of the hive. Truly abandoned, the sweeps hadn't been kind to it. After she finished scribbling in her notebook, Mera took a long breath. Being back here made her feel rather somber. And now that she wasn't a silly child, she could do more than be scared and helpless.
She turned to look at the crowd, and noted the trolls there. A bunch of them from that night, many now military. She wouldn't have been surprised if they had returned even without the order from higher-ups. And then all the new civilians. Having a paranormal expert made sense, but all the media attention and interest in 'entertainment' rubbed her the wrong way. It was like the spaceship reclamation mission all over again. Entertainment for its own sake was one thing, but this was serious.
So as the crowd grew, and more big names appeared, Mera stayed vigilant and a bit more out of the way. She had a job to do. Still, she did at least approach Sarcel. Not the highest-ranking officer there, but the local captain seemed interested in making petty comments. The queen and Elidae had to see something in him, she supposed. Something deep...deep..deep down. In regards to Glamis, he looked rather overbooked with other personalities. She could make his acquaintance later, maybe.
"Good evening, lieutenant," she greeted Sarcel, tucking her notebook away. "Lieutenant Diazzi will not be joining us tonight, but I will do my best to represent her as well as myself."

The highblood smiled at the other military trolls, feeling rather confident that despite the ranks, she was still the highest blood rank around. After Lorata appeared of course. Eridia smiled, trying to prevent it to become a sinister and teasing one. "Oh darling I think so too!" She feigned the ignorance. Oh she knew her, she knew Nahori. "Maybe one night we could catch up! it'd be lovely~!" She giggled. It stopped once she heard Kursha approach her from behind.
Eridia stood still, as if any insignificant movement would make matters worst. Tensed muscles slowly relaxed as she forced a smile on her face. "Sometimes the purrbeasts find the most eye catching things~ " Sometimes Eridia wonder if she was actually two steps ahead like she always claimed to be and was amazed by the greenblood's talent of pushing one's button so quickly. She couldn't face him, not while they were here. Where he had kicked her a** up as a child, where she had become so weakened by Gerard... Hands turned into fists and slowly Eridia released her grip. "A troll with my personal background fits any place where troubles are ensured. Have to say, your 'compliment' leaves a sweet taste in my mouth."
"Boyfriend?" The lavenderblood rolled her eyes, took a deep breath before she turned to face Kursha with a hypocritically smile. "It was only mere admiration for the troll. He was a delight. Even if he indeed offered me a drink back when he was alive, Gerard and I did not have that sort of relationship." Okay so she had a big crush on him but that was normal when you were young and childish. The troll did inspire her to do great things. Like throwing big parties!
"Mmm, jealous are you? " She chuckled. "Oh Captain, my captain... If you must know, I'm not here to pay him respects. Nor 'tis your business if I would." She shrugged. "I am just doing what a good, concerned highblooded and military-involved citizen should do." She really hoped he'd find someone else to annoy soon. Or else she'd take the place of the player rather than the joker-- and she was NOT to be played with. Though perhaps beating the greenblood at his game would make matters better.
"Kursha dearie, it truly pains me this is your way of greeting me. As if after all this time, you are still the same troll who tried to get me to do as you wished back then." Eridia got kicked sure, but she did what she wanted. "How are you? It's been... quite a long time."

Dalema was enchanted, staring at the adult's signature like it was worth a billion beetles. "Th-thank you! I'm not letting you down!!!" She chirped, still looking down at the signed paper with all the joy in the world. She hadn't even noticed Avvisi's camera crew and the way she had pushed her away from the highblood. Dale was ecstatic! Ampère slithered his way to his charge, looking at her quite confused. How the hell was she getting all happy because of a piece of paper? The snake didn't know, nor they tried to understand much. They coiled themselves around the child, making sure not to have a strong grip on her, hissing and trying to get her out of her trance.
"Oh dude! Let me give you the skinny on this! There's a haunted hive and we're so going in there! This is gonna be dy-no-mite!" She squealed. Ampère didn't think she'd stay that long in there, but it'd be fun nevertheless. Unwrapping themselves as she jumped up and down, they noticed a tealblooded child had approach their kid. Great! Finally she could try to make new friends.
"Oh, wassup?" Dale looked at Avvisi with a smile. "You did? Didn't notice, you know? But that's cool. Who wouldn't be with all the paranormal activity?" Dalema laughed, though she did notice the other seemed a little down.
"Nah dude, not into journalism but into mysteries. I'm Dalema Ogsrer, junior sleuth! Nice to meet you kiddo... What about you? You look a lil' down, but I'm hoping it ain't gonna stop you from telling me who are you!" At that moment, her lusus slapped their tail on her back. When was she going to learn not to be rude? Specially to a highblood.
"Ow! Erm... sorry! I tend to say what I think heehee." She smiled. "So are you interested in supernatural things?"

Stemma arrived on the scene, reeking of incense, covered in charms, and with a full backpack. On her lusus' back, there was an even larger backpack filled with books and ghost-studying gear. The little purpleblood had prepared to the brim, and she strode onto the scene like she was ready to take on the world.
She wasted no time getting to the center of the small crowd surrounding the specialist. Already, she felt like she had wasted time by arriving later than the other trolls. She had probably missed out on crucial information!
"Excuse me!" Stemma piped up, holding up a hand in question. "Will you be instructing us volunteers on safety precautions for this investigation. Specifically, for dealing with ghosts!" Stemma was incredibly curious, but equally terrified by the concept of possible possession.

Makkah had stumbled a bit further away from the famous guy and had bumped into a pair of legs. She looked up to see a vision of beauty and grace staring back at her.
"Hello Little Mak...are you here to record your latest music video?"
The game girl stood still, unable to process at first that she was up close and personal to the Odette Cygnet. She'd been freaked out by her presence enough when Odette was a judge on Superstar Authority, but at least she had a good distance between them. Now the statuesque redblood was kneeling right in front of her, and the purpleblood briefly considered shoving her entire face into the inside of her hat.
”I- Uh no, I'm just like- I mean, hi, I'm here for the, um, the ghosts and, uh-”
As she stumbled to form a semi-coherent sentence, the highblood attempted to avert her eyes, catching by chance a familiar mass of curls that seemed like they were heading towards her. As she looked back to focus on them, she saw Avvisi turn sharply away from her as she looked and walk away briskly.
Oh no. What did she do!? Avvisi was definitely mad at her for showing up again to a place she was working at. This on top of Odette's sudden appearance several inches away from her proved too much for the purpleblood. Her breath began to catch in her throat and she tried her best to hold back her tears as she began a panicked overthinking of her actions towards Avvisi.
Gog Makkah, how could you be so lame!? Now look what you did, she probably wants nothing to do with you!! You just had to go totally postal and keep trying to catch her at work, like you can even really talk to her when she's working!!
She stopped, remembering where she was in the moment and looked back up at Odette. She wasn't crying just yet, but she knew she had to excuse herself right this second if she was gonna get away from Odette before the floodgates burst.
”I uh, I gotta g-go, I'll see you later, okay bye!” And with that she turned to dash off to find RatDad as quickly as she could. She knew she could really use a hug right now.

Aconan wasn't sure of her stance on paranormal activity. But an opportunity to work alongside the military? Sign her up. Plus, this was an important opportunity to show her civic dutifulness! Was that the correct way of saying it? Hm. She wasn't really sure on the exact wording...anyway, that was really beside the point, because the point was Investigation! It would be almost like last time! Though hopefully (Aconan admitted to herself, privately) slightly less scary at the end. But, then again, she had got an official letter from the Empress, so the scary had been worth it....
Musing upon these, and other topics whilst she packed what she would need (and probably some stuff she didn’t need too) for the trip, saddling up Loupsus with his harness. The harness was relatively new: she’d always just clung to his fur before, but as Aconan grew stronger it was more worrisome to her that she might tug his fur out. Also, frankly the harness made it so he could carry Aconan and her stuff. I mean, she could wear a backpack, but that was kinda dangerous in that it limited your mobility and movement.
Aconan relied on being fast and small to get out of danger, so yeah, no backpack. Tugging firmly on the straps to make sure they were secure, and pressing a kiss to Loupsus’s fur, she set off. It was quite a trek, but Aconan had been there before, so it was a simple enough journey.
And upon arrival, she was delighted as she realised she recognised some faces among the crowd! There was Hemera and OH-MY-GOD was that --- was that SARCEL?? In a Lieutenant’s Uniform no less! Sarcel was /so cool/. And now they were a Lieutenant omg, Aconan had SO MANY QUESTIONS TO ASK ABOUT THE MILITARY LIF- no. Deep breaths. Aconan calmed their heartbeat. They had to be professional. Sarcel was a commanding officer here, they couldn’t just bounce up to them.
(oh how they wanted to bounce up to them and sniff them and maybe lick their face - wait no, that was a close-packmate thing, wasn’t it? )
Aconan was starting at Sarcel-and-Hemera quite visibly, apparently it hadn’t quite occured to her that that was weird enough.
Melancholies owo!!!! SARCE IS SO COOL IMMA STARE AT HER!!! owo!!!

No way... No way was she going to be outdone by her own sister!
Lately Eiylas had found herself increasingly annoyed. Not with anyone in particular, but more with her own story telling abilities. Chaeng's tales never failed to disappoint, but she felt like her own were lackluster. Was she spending too much time at home? Was her life becoming routine and rote? Despite it being outside her comfort zone (a fact she'd never admit aloud), Ely had decided to go out and seek an adventure. Her first few attempts had been failures...but upon seeing the advertisements for a paranormal adventure, she knew this was it. An experience to enhance her own tale-weaving experience. It was bold. It was unique.
It was terrifying without Chaeng.
Sure she had Tuzi, but not knowing what her sister was up to practically ate Ely up. She was a good ways away from home, too... it hadn't been an issue before, but knowing her other half wasn't around made it a little nervewracking. What if something happened? No, nothing was going to happen. Tuzi was here. She'd be fine! Just fine. Just... fine...
Speaking of which, Tuzi nuzzled their charge and nodded their big, hidden face towards an older troll near the entrance. Ah yes, a good impression. Thats what she needed to do first, make a good impression. Thankfully she was displaying her purple hues instead of her hemoanon clothing. With a deep breath, she walked straight up to Glamice Harice and held her hand out, her best confident smile put forward.
"I promise not to take too much of your time, simply wanted to say it will be a pleasure and an honor working with you sir. I'm Eiylas Zumeng, and while you're most certainly the expert here... if you need another set of hands while maneuvering well, please let me know." Not once did that smile waver or crack, nor did her tone waver. She spoke with a certainty that certainly didn't reflect how she was screaming underneath. "We are all all here to help of course, but I'm not prone to fumbling." Ely gave a little chuckle.
Two other kids were near the was it a garden? Or just plants? Either way, a sight that caught her attention. "Well, I will leave you be now. I can only imagine how many people you've left to speak to. Its been a pleasure, sir." With a little nod and a motion akin to a small bow, she bounced off with Tuzi towards Floren and Kerras. Plants. Plants were something she could deal with.
"Hmmm..." It was her turn to come from behind both children, and peak over their shoulders herself. "I don't know how useful these would be... You two aren't looking for ghosts in the bushes, are you? I don't think we'll find any there." Tuzi crinkled their nose in agreement.

Garand had found very quickly that spending more time in Chittentown proper came with its own advantages. Even with so much of his time devoted to getting his shop ready for business and building stock, news got around to him quickly enough that he was able to act on it in better time. There would be no more trudging out of the desert to find out he'd missed an opportunity by just a few nights. And that was what this was, he was sure of it. An opportunity not to be missed.
The immediate sight of military uniforms making up a good portion of the crowd only solidified that notion. With any luck he'd have his chance to join the ranks soon, and making a good impression early could only help. Although, if he was being honest, he wasn't entirely sure what he would be doing here. A series of squeaks from his left shoulder made it clear his lusus was having similar thoughts, especially after seeing the hive in person.
"Just another ruin," he said, glancing over. A sudden shrug of his shoulder made Pan jump though, and the blueblood smiled even as the mouse huffed and scrambled around to settle on the other side instead, just above the strap of his rifle. That, he could be sure, Garand wouldn't risk falling. There was still a shine to it, the first gun he'd ever built with his own hands, and he had been too proud to leave it behind even knowing there probably wouldn't be much need of it.
"Alright, alright. Let's see what the plan is." He moved in towards the outskirts of the crowd, skimming for familiar faces and immediately finding several, though he only knew a handful personally. He was proud to see Static amongst the military and hoped he could get a chance to say hello, but the Sirens were...Well. Maybe they wouldn't notice him for a bit longer.

“Well met, Lieutenant Dromen. I’ve heard inklings of your budding research.” He acknowledged. “Research is why I, personally, have a vested interest in this case. This particular location is a hotbed for activity, which is relatively uncommon considering that it has been left alone. There may be something triggering the rise in activity coming from inside the mansion; looters, squatters, or perhaps an artifact energizing the spirits. I’m interested in the results that you all find, particularly parsing the homogenized activity and identifying the amplifier if there is one. You will all serve as artificial amplifiers with your presence alone.”
He turned to the purpleblood next, giving her a sharp nod. “Yes, I will specifically be laying out ground rules for safety precautions in approximately....” He wobbled his hand a bit. “Some minutes.”
Glamis nodded to the girl, then to the other young troll offering her assistance. The military was bringing up their wigglers right if this was the turnout for what would certainly be a treacherous inspection.

Paranormal activity wasn't his main forte but Philip had heard stories about this place. He was eager to come and see what was true. It hadn't taken much to rope Kwelin along, who'd been equally curious to check the place out. The blueblood seemed keen on chaperoning him despite them being the same age. It was a little weird but Philip was glad to have him join.
"I asked her several times but she started locking the door!" Philip laughed as he explained why his usual assistant wasn't with him for this adventure. The boy understood her reasons for refusing to come out and after the second failure had reassured her it was okay. He was sad to miss her but Tzofia's mental health came first. They would have many more cases to come together to look forward to.
"It's okay though. I've still got you!" The hemoanon boy grinned, nudging the blueblood playfully. He couldn't tell if Kwelin actually enjoyed his company or merely tolerated it. Regardless, he enjoyed Kwelin's and for now that was enough.
"And Avvisi!" The detective added, spotting the familiar tealblood. He recognized two tealbloods here but the second one looked busy. In the crowd in her military uniform it was different feeling to see Flydra. The anonymity of riding the train as simply two passengers wasn't there to normalize it and he swallowed at the feeling. It made him wonder if approaching her here would be a bother. He'd deal with it later, first he wanted to go say hi to Avvisi, the tealblood he was closer to.
"Avvisi, good to see you! Ready to dive into the thick of it?" Philip asked, pretending to lift a camera and film. He had no idea she'd already been banned from capturing anything that happened tonight on film. Dalema's glasses glinted, reminding him to greet her as well. They'd only met once before but it'd be rude to not say something.
"Nice to see you again, Dalema! This is my friend Kwelin." The hemoanon boy smiled, introducing the blueblood that trailed beside him.
