Cynril's hand were fidgeting, fingers looking at the device handed to him... That he willingly asked to carry. He felt a bit at ease knowing Odette was here but... Honestly he wasn't sure if it was wise to react a certain way when the ghost arrived. It would hurt him to ignore the wails of his dear friend, pretending they were unknown to him.

They weren't. He knew them well.

Looking for a good spot, Cynril held the bracelet in hand trying not to be too familiar with it. It was his, he knew it, he wished he could try to put it on one last time... What about the etchings? He tried not to smile, he was unknown to it, he tried to show he was indifferent towards it.

"I think... We can put the stuff down here." he told the others.

This was the good stuff. A real mutantblood ghost on camera. And Glamis none the wiser. "Media is gonna eat this up!" She exclaimed happily. "Who doesn't like seeing mutantbloods dead? Just like they should be." She said with a smile. "Just give me a sec!" Avvisi called to the troll who was setting it all up. "I wanna get pictures of the stuff before the thing gets summoned." The tealblood snapped away, oblivious to any emotions the teen, Cynril, was displaying.

Now it was time to scope the audience. Who wanted to actually see a dead mutantblood? Apparently a celebrity, Odette, quite a few kids, and of course Avvisi's bud Makkah. The tealblood grinned and waved to the military officer. It was good she was here, apparently there had been some crazy things happening at one of the other summonings. "Hello." The tealblood said as she approached the military troll, "Im very glad your here, considering what has happened elsewhere, but do you really think a runty mutantblood child will be a thread?"

Odette assisted Cynril in moving the objects into place, but she didn't have much to offer him in the way of kind words. Anything like that would have been too revealing, for the both of them. Cynril attending was already a nightmare waiting to happen, but she knew how much he needed this. She would find a way to intervene, if it came to that. She gave Cynril a pat on the hand as she went to place an item next to his. A subtle touch, to remind him that he was not alone.

Floren had decided to come visit the seance of the mutantblood out of curiosity for the most part. Mutants were... an interesting topic. He gave the tealblood Avvisi a side glance laced with distaste. "Didn't Glamis state that you aren't permitted to take unauthorized photos or videos of the seances?" Sure, she had blood rank over him, but Glamis had rank over her in both blood and age and he was just the sort to play stick in the mud with trolls he thought were less than savory. Avvisi definitely struck him as the type to be into publishing wild tales. He rather disliked that. Her complete lack of forethought concerning what a ghost could do didn't help. Child or not, anyone with the right tools could do some serious damage and this person didn't have a body to be disabled.

The lanterns necessary to light the basement cast appropriately unsettling shadows across the walls. Any of the rubble piles or twisted metal could pass for a trollian figure in the low lighting. The hole leading to the catacombs beneath yawned wide and black.

The lights flickered once. Twice. Then returned to functionality. Nothing had visibly changed.

”Sniff… (hic)...”

A little voice whispered beside you. Everyone felt a presence to their immediate left. Upon turning, however, there was no one there. The muffled cries continued, though their direction remained indeterminate.

”Sniff… Sniff… Huu...Hu-Huuuuh...”

The building groaned long and low, sufficiently obscuring the voice for a moment. It felt as though the building was settling. Very heavily. The black shadows wobbled, then stilled.

”Huh-Hup...”

Avvisi glared daggers at the jadeblood. "He also said children shouldn't be around. I dont see you following rules." The teablood said as if she herself were not a child. "Do you try going around being a pain? Or were you hatched that way?" Lets be honest, that was far too mean. But Avvisi felt that shame flare up and it made her defensive. Glamis. His name made her feel a rush of hate.

She abandoned her fight with the jadeblood to focus on the ghost, snapping pictures all the way. "A real mutantblood" she whispered.

He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Barely. "You really aren't in a position to talk." He folded his arms across his chest, actually rolling his eyes once her back was turned. He'd heard it before and likely would again. If sticking to the rules made him a pain then perhaps he was hatched that way. As the light flickered, he shifted into a more alert position. Sure, his last seance hadn't been terribly eventful aside from a thrown chair and fake fire (which was honestly pretty terrifying) but he'd seen the wounds from one of the less fortunate seances... This wasn't the time to be relaxed.

The sound of camera clicks caught his attention. He sighed under his breath and trailed after Avvisi, keeping out of arms reach. "You could make it angry taking photos like that. Think a little before you act. This isn't some oddity sideshow where the attractions are safely contained." If they were even real. Floren figured he might as well try one more warning and if she continued to ignore.. well... He supposed that "learning the hard way" was a viable way to grow as a person. Caution was better than reckless abandon.

Cynril looked out at the redblooded adult before placing the last object in the circle. The teen was rather nervous of all of this, and hearing the media influenced child didn't ease his nerves at all. Breathe... He needed to breath and calm down. Surely he'd tell Glamis about her in hopes he confiscates the device.

Lights began to flicker and a familiar noise rang in his spongeclots. They were here. Cynril's hands became clammy as he tried his best not to appear so nervous. Breathe... Had he forgotten how to? He looked back several times, swearing he thought they were behind him for a second. They were not.

Or it appeared as they were.

"Um..." He stammered. "Hello? L-looking for someone?" He asked, looking left and right and left again. He wanted to scream out it was him, ask if he was okay, ask why hadn't they rest in peace... It was too risky but the urge he felt was strong. An idea struck him though... Cynril took a step closer to the circle, looking at the candy wrapper.

"Wow... that candy sure looks tasty."
He said, in hopes the ghost would approach it -approach him- just close enough for him to decide what to do.

The bickering fell to a hush around the cries of the unseen child. The facsimile of shuddered breathing continued until Cynril stepped forward. The voice fell silent. It was unclear if it was in response to being addressed, but Cynril was allowed to speak uninterrupted. The lanterns flickered faintly.

The shutter of the camera went off and the child screamed. The basement walls flexed inward. The lanterns swayed and toppled in turn, flashing wildly. Shadows bloomed and writhed against the walls.

The wail continued in a crescendo until a sharp but tiny "snap" cut the sound abruptly. The lens of Avvisi's camera fell to the floor in pieces.

The light of the lanterns continued to pulse with the steady tremor of a heartbeat. The floor of the basement groaned in warning.

The voice sniffled again, but no longer cried. A dark shape had formed against the far wall: a shadow projected by something that didn't exist. The silhouette of a little troll with asymmetric horns stood relatively motionless. Their shape twitched with the unstable lighting. Holes in the shadow opened where the eyes would be.

Avvisi yelped in surprise. The thing had broken her precious camera! She stepped back, away from the ghost and its creepy powers. The tealblood was upset, still feeling the shame from Glamis, the fear of this ghost, and now the disappointment that she really did have nothing from this experience. "Happy?!" Avvisi said, taking her anger out on the annoying little jadeblood. "Here! Take it as a souvenir!" Avvis said as she threw the camera at the jadeblood child. She wanted to throw her broken camera at the ghost, but hell no was she going near that thing.

After the events with Schrad, Demari had stayed pretty quiet and mostly attempted to keep out of people's way. Not out of self-pity but rather because she was aware that for now she didn't have many ways of helping. Unloading the injured off for medical attention had been her and Volkei's one action of help before they'd slipped away, instructed by Kursha to let the professionals take care of it. Volkei had expressed an interest in attending the mutant's seance and so here they'd ended up. The blueblood had opted to join him out of not wanting to be alone right now.

The cries were hard to hear. She'd made identical sounds merely minutes ago in the catacombs. The dark thoughts that had plagued her resurfaced once more, the questions of who these trolls had truly been before they'd died. Most of the things she'd heard about mutants had been bad. But then again, most of the things she'd heard about the military had been good. Demari wasn't sure what to believe or who to trust but it made her question how to proceed.

Maybe none of the trolls here had been good people. Maybe some of them had. She couldn't control how things had gone. All she could control was whether or not she was a good person herself.

"Ah!" Demari gasped as one moment after her second of clarity, the room lurched and everything shifted. The blueblood stumbled in surprise before catching herself on Volkei and taking a breath to calm down. She sympathized with the pain in the voice that screamed at them and desperately tried to think quickly of what she had wanted when she'd needed comfort.

"It's okay, we aren't here to hurt you. It's going to be alright." Demari spoke and turned to face the far wall. She closed her eyes and stepped forward so the figure could see her.

"We won't look at you. We just want to talk. Is that okay?" It was hard to maintain the level of calm in her voice as she trusted the figure to not harm her. While she stood steady her legs shook a bit from fear. It was going to be okay. Everyone would understand and follow suit, right? She wanted to be able to believe and trust in other trolls. She didn't want this to end like Schrad.

The seance with the mutantblood had proven to be frightening so far, but not violent quite like Schrad's. Still, Odette regarded the situation with care and caution, something that the other children were not currently exhibiting. Her attention swiftly fell to Avvisi, and she regarded the tealblood with a cold gaze that could only be compared to that of a disappointed lusus.

"Be calm..." She spoke to the tealblood, soft but direct. "You do not know how much danger we could be in." After Schrad's seance, Odette was on edge. The other adults were elsewhere, and nursing injuries. She was alone in protecting the children from danger. Precaution was their best insurance.

Finished chastising Avvisi, Odette followed Demari's actions, closing her eyes along with her. "We want to help you. Will you let us?" She asked, voice sweet and calm.

Cynril flinched, trying not to rush out to them, calm them down... He couldn't do much or say much. It would not be wise. Looking over at Demari and imitated her. He covered his eyes, peeking just slightly before walking near the small child. Hopefully, her nice voice would soothe them down.

"Yeah... N-none of us want to hurt you... We... want to help and talk to you." He said softly with a slight whine. He really wanted to help, he really did. But how? How could he without comprising his true identity? This was starting to get really frustrating.

The screams caused him to bring his hands up to his head, attempting to muffle the awful sounds. Now she'd done it. They'd end up like the adults from the other seance that had been cut and stabbed, he was sure of it. But... it stopped, and a shadowy figure formed on the wall. He averted his gaze to Avvisi.

He wanted to say "told you so," but Avvisi had launched the now broken camera at him. He managed to catch it, fumbling with the machine for a second before tucking it away into the pouch on his belt. He'd be turning this in to Glamis later. It was just the lens broken after all- perhaps the film inside was still fine. He cast a flat, unimpressed look in Avvisi's direction but opted to hold his tongue for now. Odette's scolding sufficed as far as he was concerned.

Noting that everyone else seemed to be closing or covering their eyes he decided to do the same, bringing his up to cover them and kept his face pointed off to one side, not directly pointing at the wall the shadow stood on.

The basement had stopped rumbling. Even the lighting had stopped its spasming. Still, the tension in the air stayed thick. Even those looking away from the blank-faced shadow could feel it watching with its symbolic eyes. The hollow circles remained still, projected as they were against the wall.

Demari and Odette spoke to the spirit in gentle voices. The mutant didn't respond, but made no further complaints or threats against the party.

The shadow twitched at Cynril's approach. It stayed quiet. It seemed to be thinking.

Th̡ey A̡LS͡O ͜w̡a̵n̕te͢d̢ ̛t̵o HE̵L̸P, the shadow said at last. The voice was psychic in nature. It seemed to resonate from within one's own mind. The intent was clear, even if the voice itself was difficult to parse.

”Thȩy̶ ͏a͝l̷l HEL̨P͞E̢D͟ us.̀” The voice continued, venomous but not violent. The sound of hissing overlaid the telepathy. The child's true voice echoed through the basement. They may have never learned the words for the feelings they expressed now, but they had known enough for that sentiment.

”What͢ ́do͜ ỳou̶ REALLY ͝wan͏t?͞” It was a demand, not a question. The voids that served as the shadows eyes narrowed microscopically.
