      Captain Kursha Vidari

Kursha let out a cackle as Static jumped with fright and fell onto his backside. “A little jumpy there, soldier?” He asked, eyebrows raised. Stooping down, he reached down and offered a hand to help the blueblood up. As the boy got to his feet, Kursha heard the floor give out another groan. He paced the centre of the block, stomping at the floor at various intervals. It gave a little but did not break.

“Probably better to avoid this area here. So, think his most mirthfulness had it stuffed in his clown shoes?” He raised the knife for the others to see.

Nahori wanted to say that she barely remembered the events of that night, that she couldn't recall the faces of the trolls they'd seen, but that would've been a lie. Despite her young age, she saw them clearly in her memory. She pitied the mutants if they died in the fire. She couldn't hate them the way society did, if only because their blood put them far beneath even her. They weren't a threat like most trolls were.

They weren't a threat like Captain Vidari was.

Her blood pusher picked up an erratic beat when he startled Static and laughed like it was funny. There was no way she'd say anything, but she looked at Sarcel uncomfortably. Then again, Kursha did outrank her. Maybe it was better not to put her Lieutenant on the spot.

The orangeblood took a few steps away from the area Kursha indicated instead, but as she did her leg brushed against something, something that immediately chittered and jumped to life. With a gasp, the color draining from her face, she stumbled into the wall.

5: HAZARD: The excitement upon removing an un-looted wooden training sword sticking out of the ground dissolves when you realize that a) the sword is fully rotten and b) there is now a big hole in the ground.

Sarcel looked over just in time to see Static fall over like a dramatic wriggler. God dammit Vidari. She made eye contact with Nahori with an understanding expression, if a resting b***h face could be called that. At least Vidari was helping the blueblood up... only for Nahori to stumble around because of something or other. Sigh.

The tracks she had found were misleading. The children were here with her.

"You should be more careful with that." She said, inflection cool, her eyes narrowed as she inspected the knife from a distance. It looked... unnecessarily large. It wasn't that she doubted Kursha's ability to keep the knife on the outside of their compatriots bodies, but that she doubted both Static and Nahori's abilities to keep from flailing into the knife. At this rate, anyway.

As she inspected another piece of debris, the floor let out an... ominous groan. "This whole place is unstable..." It was an idle comment made mostly to herself. Still, in the time it took her to turn back around, the world was already moving alarmingly fast.

Not as fast as her reflexes though, as her hand caught the edge of the newly formed hole in the floor. "Shhhh-!" While she didn't speak outwardly for help, her legs kicking fruitlessly in the air said enough for her.

It was getting a little crazy. Kursha was stomping on the already quite fragile ground, Nahori got startled, and who knew what ghosts were around. Static gritted his teeth. Come on, he had done lots of Space Missions, and those were far more dangerous than this. Probably... No, really! Space had real threats, like zombies and horrors. This house had "ghosts".

Then their fearless leader fell, and Static felt himself fall after her. Just in time, the boy managed to get himself in a position where he could actually help. As he reached his hand out to the other blueblood, "Grab on!" He let out a prayer that his hands were not sweaty.

      Captain Kursha Vidari

Kursha heard a crunch of rotting wood. Suddenly Sarcel dropped down through the floor with a yelp. Her fingers clutched at the edge of the splintered wood. Kursha started to sprint towards where the blueblood dangled, but stopped when the floor beneath him gave an alarming creak. Tense and alert he navigated the invisible labyrinth. Up ahead he saw Static pulling Sarcel out of the pit. At least she was safe.

As a squirrel scuttled across his foot, Kursha whipped his rifle from his shoulder. He had it loaded, armed, and fired in less than a second. The rodents were becoming a nuisance. “You all right, Cincil? Charge?”

"Sir-!" was all Nahori managed before both Static and Kursha darted for the hole Sarcel found herself falling through. Relief didn't exactly wash over her, but no one fell to be swallowed by darkness and it helped her breathe, at least. She'd thank Static properly later.

"Is... is everyone al-" The shot startled her even more than the nutbeast had earlier and her think pan raced from one scenario to another. What if there was someone below them who took the shot? What if the splintering of even more of the floorboards was enough to send them all toppling to their doom after all? Nahori clutched a hand to her mouth and shook her head before speaking into her fingers.

"Maybe we should... stick to the other side of the room..." She tried to circle around to get closer to Lieutenant Cincil again. On her way, a piece of stuffing stuck to her boot.

    Somewhat intact stuffing
This stuffing is special taxidermy stuffing because it didn't burn in the fire or get ruined by the weather! Wait... Is this actually asbestos?

The knife had been scary, the fall of their leader had been worrisome, but Kursha pulling out a huge gun and shooting a furry creature point-blank? Yeah that was something else... "Good shot, sir." Was all the blueblood had to say there.

Static did nod and agree with Nahori. That side of the floor was most certainly not safe anymore... "Good idea, Corporal." The blueblood said in the same, somewhat stunned voice. He picked up a... something, from the ground, and went over to the orangeblood. The blueblood pocketed the item, he would look at it later... when he was less... alert to loud noises.

    Lighter
The design of the lighter is a completely generic piece of military equipment. However, this lighter in particular has been customized with a stamp declaring it property of "HELMSMAN 3008183". Etched further are the words,
        "hatched to plunder
        brain juiced nightly
        died stupid

Eridia knew she wasn't the lightest troll around, so when she began to sink down, she tried to remain calm and pull her self up. The highblood clasped her hand with Hemera's, pulling herself up from the moss pit. She couldn't believe Mera saved her. Damn it. And on the same situation she had saved the other troll. Such an embarrassment really.

"Ugh..." Eridia's eyes narrowed at the moss pit. She shuddered a bit, hating so much the smell of moist moss. "Anyone else would've let me fall. Don't waste another opportunity like that." She scoffed, dusting herself off.

"I'm sure you'd be glad just like the rest." She really didn't want to think about Gerard's ghost. What could she do if she'd face him? Eridia didn't know and she didn't want to find out.

"I... Am not sure what I would do. I don't think I'd be fit to vanquish his spirit. Surely someone else could do it."

Eridia looked to the side before muffling, "Thank you." to Hemera. "We should keep on looking."

Perhaps the most shocking thing was an actual thank you. Mera was in no place to demand it, and she was not inclined to anyway. And yet, to get one... Hm.

Did she trust Eridia to help her in a similar situation? Not particularly. Did she expect that Eridia would be more inclined to after a moment like this? Nope. Any other thoughts or reactions, she kept to herself. The tealblood only nodded at the idea of continuing the search.

She went back to work, taking a few more notes, when her foot started to sink again. Mera let out a hissing breath, but managed to pull her foot out on her own. "This area is clearly too decayed. We should go before whatever floor is left gives out under us."

Static's hands were a little sweaty, but it didn't really matter to Sarcel now that her feet were on solid ground. "Fine." She was quick to assert, "I'm fine. Don't worry about it, just move to the other side of the room."

She was quick to follow her own advice.

"Thank you, Charge." She said to her fellow blueblood once she was sure everyone was on more stable footing. "We need to be care--"

    Bang!

"--...ful. She finished speaking slowly, her eyes watching the smoking barrel of Kursha's gun, the sound of the shot making her tense up like the rest of them. Rather than say anything, Sarcel blinked a few times to clear the ringing in her head before sulking away to investigate the rest of the room (and look over the fresh scrap on the palm of her hand, splinters included. Ow.)

Her eyes caught sight of a newspaper, which she quickly disregarded and stepped over. Nahori's approach had her looking over her shoulder at the orangeblood, expression weary. Shaking her head, she returned to looking around.

      Captain Kursha Vidari

“Hm...” Kursha stood musing in front of what was undeniably a vulgar, and crudely drawn graffiti of a bonebulge. He would be willing to wager that it was a recent addition to the hive. “Hey, Cincil, you should check this out.” He wiggled his eyebrows at the blueblood, while grinning.

Some rowdy youth's spray paint can. It's bright yellow. There is a cartoonish rendering of a bulge sprayed on the wall where it was found. A mystery...
