User Image Rhysian's show of power had clearly been more than enough to bring the majority of the crowd around to his side of seeing... Although most had initially been stunned into silence by what the Elder had done, Tala's gaze would note movement and turn to watch one man in particular as he stepped forward and dropped to his knees, apologising for their unrefined actions before requesting they be spared from sharing the fate of the unfortunate who now smouldered in a heap before them...

The Elder advanced once more, a sense of reassurance circling the room as Rhysian voiced that they would not have been summoned without a purpose... This would spur both allegiance and enquiries from the crowd before another drew the attention towards the King's Heirs, bringing the Warsong Children to light... With an utterance of words he knew not the language, the Elementor would watch with a tightening feeling in his gut as Rhysian summoned the black mist once more... He immediately recognised the faces of those that appeared, his eyes widening like they had upon Kayl and Camilla's arrival, yet taking in one vision in particular as she plunged to her knees alongside her brother... He'd seen Mikhail only when he'd accompanied Lelyna to the Diviner Class where they'd been moved to after their latest Tutor had disappeared, but the girl...

Catherine - A female Elementor Tala had shared more than a few Classes with... Although he'd never really gotten close enough to enquire into her life, what with seating himself as far away from his classmates as possible, it quickly became apparent that she was of relation to the man who had perished before them only moments before... The Shadowmancer's eyes narrowed momentarily before widening again as he watched Lord Kuevaal advance, picking up Rhysian's blade from the floor before making his way around so he faced the Elementor head on...

Shutting his eyes tight, Tala's head snapped downward with the sound of the blade meeting its mark, that sickening feeling finding its way up to his chest now as he heard Catherine's muffled scream and then the soft thud of her body hitting the ground as she was released from the blade which had cut her life so unexpectedly short... It had all happened so quickly...and now, with the first act over, Tala listened to the silence before it was broken as Kuevaal's steps moved infront of what would ultimately be his second victim...

He knew there had to be purpose behind this...but why did it have to be those he knew? Tala's eyes opened just long enough to cast a questionably-fleeting glance towards Baba, then he averted them once more, so much he wanted to shout, to say Something to reason with this unnecessary bloodshed...but instead, afraid for his own life he bit deeply into his lip and fought back the dampness tweaking at the corner of his eyes...

Lelyna, suspended in her dark prison, could only listen and struggle against the void as she heard all that happened around her in the ballroom. Everything she learned about Rhysian was so extraordinary she didn't know if she could believe it. However, given the reactions of all the nobles that stood as witness, Lelyna could only assume that the display of power that Rhysian was showing was one of great majesties one could ever wish to behold.

As the King of Valor was summoned, seemingly all the way from across the sea, Lelyna could only listen in horror and fear as Rhysian made a quick example of him and claimed the Throne as the Immortal King. The explosion of energy that ripped apart a portion of the ballroom made her scream inside her mind and curl in on herself in fear of what might happen to her, helpless as she was. ‘This isn't happening...This isn't happening!!’

But as the Warsong Children were mentioned and the implication made known that they couldn't be left to live, Lelyna’s concern for her own well being was lost. Catherine and Mikhail were in grave danger! If Rhysian could kill the King he wouldn't hesitate to kill her love! ‘NO!!!! You can't! MIKHAIL!!!’ Despite being suspended and imprisoned inside her own mind, Lelyna began to thrash and rail, scream and struggle against the force that held her. ‘YOU CANT HAVE HIM! HE’S MINE!’ Tears streamed down her cheeks as she tried with all her might to escape.

Mikhail didn't know what to think - what the ******** was going on!? He’d been walking through the marketplace looking for his beloved, whom he knew had wanted to purchase a few things in town, when he’d been surrounded by a dark cloud. And now? He was kneeling, helpless, surrounded by the nobles of Valor.

‘How in the hell?!’ Incapacitated as he was, all Mikhail could do was look around quickly and assess the situaion. Rhysian, the Court Mage, seemed to be the one holding him at bay, while the other Nobles looked on. His gaze roamed each of the faces and eventually landed on one he hadn't expected to see - Lelyna’s. She looked to be unconscious, as she lay peacefully behind Kayl, the young Lady Umbrawalker caring for her in this moment of turmoil. Mikhail’s worry for Lelyna was acute, but as Lord Kuevaal stepped up with a blade, moving toward his sister, his eyes went wide and grunts of protest emanated from his throat, eventually forcing their way into grunted shouts of desperate words.

‘Get away from her you b*****d! DON’T TOUCH MY SISTER!!’ But despite his protests and his desire to protect his half sister, he was powerless. All Mikhail could do was watch as Lord Kuevaal stepped up and rose the small blade above Catherine. Her face was one Mikhail could never forget, as she kept a stern yet struggled brave face. Slowly, Kuevaal pierced the blade into her chest, and finally into her heart. ‘NNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!’ Watching her body crumble to the floor and bleed out, all Mikhail could do was scream out, as the mere sight tore at his heart and brought to his eyes tears of anger, sadness and pain.

“You bastards… How could you?... How could you?...” Mikhail let out with an overwhelming grief. As much as he hated his father, he bore no real ill will towards his sister, and although they might not have been particularly close, he never would have wished this cruel fate upon her. ”All of you… all of you… ALL OF YOU!!! I’m going to kill ALL OF YOU!!!’ Mihkail screamed out fiercely, his voice echoing across the entire ballroom as he struggled against Rhysian’s hold. But even with all the rage in his heart, his body was no match for Rhysian’s hold. It was all he could do to glare at the monsters that stood idly by, and cowardly killed his sister. Even as Kuevaal looked to Rhysian for approval, Mikhail glared daggers at all of them, continuing to struggle as best he could… until Kuevaal stepped in front of him. Seeing Kuevaal step in front of him, he looked up at the b*****d with all the hate in the world, but even in his anger, against his will his body would waver, and his expression would fall to utter desperation as the fear overwhelmed him. In this moment, he understood why his sister’s face struggled to stay strong, why she fought with her own fear to be brave...

Mikhail would subconsciously let out the slightest whimper, and then like his sister before him forced himself to be brave. As far as he knew, he was the last surviving Warsong, and like his sister, he would bravely face the death that seemed to be his fate. As Kuevall lifted the blade, Mikhail would breathe hard, and let out a fierce screaming shout just as the blade started to drop. Hearing his scream, slowly and then suddenly, and unbeknownst to Lelyna’s inner mind, small whimpers began to escape Lelyna’s lips and her body began to shudder and shake. Hearing Camilla’s sudden gasp in response, Kayl suddenly turned his gaze over his shoulder, and screamed out Lelyna’s name as he ran to her side. In that brief moment, Rhysian himself sharply turned his gaze to the young unconscious girl and as he turned and stepped towards her, he dropped all of the concentration that was held on Mikhail. As Kuevaal’s blade etched closer to Mikhail’s heart, Mikhail suddenly felt the hold on him release in the midst of his scream. Without hesitation, he suddenly reached up to Kuevaal, making a quick parrying maneuver that disarmed Kuevaal and drove the dagger into the old man’s chest. Screaming fiercely as he pressed it into his heart like the old man had done to his sister.

Ignoring Mikhail and Kuevaal altogether, Rhysian stepped over to Lelyna as Kayl knelt beside her and tried to steady her shaking body. "Camilla!, what happened, whats going on… what’s wrong with her..." Kayl let out as he tried to hold his sister, but her thrashing started to get even more fierce, and her body started to shake much more violently. "Move aside, child..." Rhysian would suddenly say while waving his hand to the side, and Kayl’s body shifted and pushed off from Lelyna knocking him to the ground a couple of feet away. Sitting up then, Kayl looked on with both confusion and fear as Rhysian stepped over Lelyna. He looked down upon her with a sharp, annoyed gaze, and simply stood there for a moment, unmoving. "What are you doing… Girl," He thought as the words echoed into her mind, reverberating all around her deep within her mind.

Mikahil’s anguished screams were soon drowned out by Rhysian’s echoing voice within her mind. Lelyna didn't know why Rhysian was reaching out to her now, but it didn't matter, she had his attention. “Please! PLEASE! Don't hurt him! I beg you!” Lelyna sobbed within her own mind, continuing to thrash against whatever held her. She needed to be free! She needed to save him! Despite whatever Rhysian had to say, Lelyna didn't stop fighting, she’d never stop...

Watching her struggle desperately against his spell, her body’s violent thrashing started to get incredibly dangerous, as the muscles started to contort, and put pressure on her bones. "Stop… Stop this Lelyna, you are going to kill yourself…!" Rhysian thought with suddenly concern as he knelt down by her side and placed his hand on her forehead, forcing magically energy into her once more in an attempt to force her into a deep slumber. “I won't! I CAN’T! PLEASE!” She cried, her tears continuously falling from her eyes, in her mind and physically as she continued to fight for her freedom. Mikhail needed her! She could save him, she knew it! Even if it meant throwing away all her pride and dignity and begging and pleading for his life, she’d do it….

Just a few yards away in the distance, Mikhail would take a deep breath after the old man Kuevaal feel from his blade, Mikhail looked up just as Rhysian was pressing his hand upon Lelyna’s forehead, her body thrashing dangerously as if he was killing her. "LELYNA!!! GET AWAY FROM HER YOU MONSTER!!!" Mikhail would scream out as he charged at Rhysian with the dagger in hand, jumping high into the air to strike down at Court Mage. Just as Mikhail would come crashing down upon Rhysian with his blade thrust forward to strike Rhysian’s heart from behind. Rhysian lifted his hand up in Mikhail’s direction and caught him midair, holding him up by his throat causing Mikhail to gargle and gasp as he thrashed about and struggled against the hold, dropping the dagger just under his feet. The sounds of Mikhail’s gasping breath would cause Lelyna’s body to thrash even harder, and Rhysian would let out a short grunted scream of annoyance as he pressed his hand against Lelyna’s head, and released all of the energy that was keeping her trapped within her mind, having no choice but to release her or let her bite her own tongue off, and break her own limbs.

As Lelyna was released from whatever force held her, her chest arched up off the floor as she gasped for air, almost as if she’d been held underwater and had been starved for breath. Eyes wide, they darted about her, looking for Mikhail but finding Rhysian. Swallowing hard, she sobbed and did the only thing she could do. Wrapping her arms around his leg she pressed her cheek against him and sobbed, her whole body continuing to shake.
“Please, please, PLEASE, Rhysian...Please spare him. I’ll do anything, I promise I’ll be a good girl I’ll never disobey you again. I’ll be good, I promise.” She sobbed, clinging to him as if for dear life as she begged for Mikahils. “I love him. I can't live without him and I won't. Please spare him. I’ll be responsible for him. I’ll do anything.”

"Anything?...” Rhysian would echo as he looked down at the desperate sight of Lelyna clinging against his leg. After a moment, Rhysian would take a deep breath and sigh as he slowly let Mikhail down on his knees. It was the first and only time that they would all see Rhysian respond to anything other than his own will, a short lived event that would surprise them all for just the briefest of moments. " So be it, I will let him live… for now…” Was all that would come out of Rhysian’s mouth as a whirl of mist billowed up once more, and took Mikhail away just as fast as it had brought him here. "This will be the last time… the last bit of mercy you will ever see...” Rhysian would say as he stared down at the young Lelyna clinging to him before looking up at all of the Nobles watching. "It’s time we finish this,” Rhysian would say while bringing his hand up once more as he stepped away from Lelyna, forcing himself out of her grasp, leaving her sitting on the ground, sobbing beside Kayl and Camilla as she longed for Mikhail.

Grunting, barely breathing, the Old Noble Lord Elmund Kuevaal gasped and gargled on his own blood as he reached out to Rhysian, seemingly to plead for his life. However as Rhysian spoke with Lelyna, and removed Mikhail from their sights, Kuevaal knew that he was now being ignored. Saving his strength, Kuevaal closed his eyes and tried not to move, listening to everything around him as he steadied his breath. He had to survive, that was all that mattered. If he could just stay alive, he could prove himself to their Lord. So as Rhysian started to speak. Lord Kuevaal listened intently to his Lord’s words and breathed...

"The King is dead, our beloved nation has been attacked once more, the peace treaty between our kingdoms… ignored...” Rhysian would say brazenly as he looked to all of the Nobles, who started to whisper amongst themselves as they tried to make heads and tails of what Rhysian was speaking about. As Rhysian continued on, he brought his hand up yet again and built up the whirling mist for the last time. When it subsided, the Trendelonian Noble Lord Arthur De’Freye would suddenly appear, looking around the room with complete and utter confusion as the black mist dissipated and cleared. ”To think, that Trendel had been planning this all along, such a shame that our two Kingdom’s couldn’t truly work out their differences." Rhysian would say with the calmest and most degrading voice you could hear from a man. "All because of you...” Rhysian would say as he stepped in front of the now terrified Lord De’Freye. As all of the Nobles present started to understand what Rhysian was doing, they all knew perfectly well where it would lead, perfectly into the path of the wishes of their Immortal King. What better way to go to war than to have the opposing side make the first move? Nothing would rally the people faster than anger at the loss of their King at the hands of the enemy. Nothing would garner more support than the people's bloodlust for revenge.

Regardless of the different Noble’s intentions, all of them understood what Rhysian meant. The blame for the King’s death would lie on a Trendelonian Noble, which was already a powerful measure. From what they had heard, this particular Noble had already made an attack on Eoana as well, which would only further instill belief in the people. The Noble’s slowly truly understood the ambitious hunger that laid in this plan, and after pledging themselves to Rhysian, many of them knew exactly what would come next. The fearful amongst them would simply stay silent, mentally prepared to take whatever order was given to them. The greedy amongst them would smirk deviously, seeing the wealth and power they would attain by following the Immortal King. The ambitious and like-minded amongst them, those who truly believed in Rhysian’s words, and found themselves aligned with his agenda, would simply stare on in solemn disregard for what had transpired, viewing everything as a means to an end. They would follow Rhysian now, to the ends of the Eoana, ‘to bring Gran Valor back to its former glory’

Looking around the room then, Rhysian shook his head lightly as he took in the scene of the ballroom at present, the scene of destruction at the hands of Rhysian. "Oh, this won’t due, we’ll have to make it look the part, what was it that these ingrates used when they attacked the city? Explosives?” Rhysian said as he stepped directly in front of Arthur, a smirk slowly covering his face. "You’ve done me a great service, De’Fraye, you truly have, and so I will return the favor, this one and only time,” Rhysian said before looking back at the rest of the Nobles with a demonizing haunting malicious expression on his face. "Prepare yourselves, it’s time now to set the final stage,” Rhysian would say as he brought his hands close to his chest and started chanting in a strange language once more. "Pyr Noct Embra Sect Lunde Pyr Lunde Dors...” Rhysian would start saying over and over again as his eyes started to glow a fierce fiery red color that made him look as if he was accepting a demon into himself.

At that moment, the Old Lady standing in the back who didn’t move at all the entire time suddenly shifted forward towards the crowd of Nobles. "All of you step back if you don’t want to die here, step back!" She would say before making small enchantments of her own. As Rhysian continued to chant his spell over and over, suddenly the winds started to pull slightly towards the center of the room, and in the center of the ballroom, a small spark of flame burst into existence, growing into a large ball of flame before condensing down to a dot no bigger than a pea. Over and over, the flame would grow, and then condense, grow, and then condense, causing the room to get hotter and hotter by the minute. As Rhysian continue to prepare his spell, Q’ara brought her hands up and released a wave of energy that created small barriers of energy in front of everyone that was present, all of the Nobles, all of their children, even the Trendelonian Lord Arthur De’Freye. "Bara Loht Temer… Bara Loht Temer…" Q’ara chanted several times creating barrier after barrier in between the nobles and the ball of condensed flame that Rhysian continuing to build. "If you don’t want to die here, get behind the barriers, and brace yourself..." Q’ara would call out to them all as the sound of the whirling flames started to grow and echo throughout the ballroom. Q’ara would continue to chant, creating and strengthening the barriers as all of the Nobles quickly got closer to their barriers and prepared themselves mentally for whatever was about to happen.

Kayl quickly grabbed Lelyna, pulling her close to him as he stepped in front of Camilla. Wrapping his arms around them both he made sure they were both in front of one of the barriers. "It’s gonna be ok, it’s gonna be ok, just close your eyes, and hold onto me!" He shouted out as best he could, as the sound of the whirling flames started to overshadow everything else in the room. Just moments after, Kayl felt another presence against him, this time at his back as he felt arms go around him. Looking up over his shoulder, Kayl would see that his father, Eldyn, had jumped in between them all, spreading his arms out, taking Kayl, Lelyna, and Camilla into his embrace. Before anything else could be said, suddenly Rhysian screamed out fiercely, and the ball of whirling condensed flame exploded, releasing all of the energy that Rhysian built up all at once and shooting out over them all, the searing heat just barely touching them as the explosion passed over the barriers that Q’ara was holding in place for them all.

The explosion would drown out everything around them for what seemed like forever, as the flames continue to pass over them for seconds upon seconds as if it would never let up. All of the Nobles couldn’t believe their eyes, as some watched in total fear, and others grinned from ear to ear at the sheer spectacle they were viewing. At that moment, as the flames of the explosion continue to billow out like a giant eruption. Rhysian could be seen stepping through the flames walking towards Q’ara as she continued to chant. Looking up at him, her eyes narrowed as she waited for his order, and the moment that he nodded her head at her, the words of her chant started to change. Just moments later, suddenly screams could be heard mixed in with the roaring of the explosion’s erupting force, as the barriers of certain nobles suddenly disappear, and the Noble’s and their families that were initially being protected were released into the flames.

Laying on his back, just barely conscious as the explosion rung out. Lord Kuevaal opened his eyes and watched as the flames passed him over, the barrier placed by Q’ara protecting him from the flames. He took another deep breath as he looked up at the flames, and spoke the last thing he would ever speak. "Thank you, my Lord… My King… Thank you..." Kuevaal would say while holding his hand up, a smile wiping across his face. "You h-have not… f-forsaken me..." The last words Kuevaal would speak, as the first of the barriers held by Q’ara was released, destroying his body, and burning his very self from existence.

The next to fall was Lord Al’Beveron, who was closest to Q’ara, then Lord Barathyr, then the Lady Andeste and her family. One by one the barriers were released, and those who could see the acts being done couldn’t believe their eyes. Lord Umbrawalker watched as the barriers for Lord Echsarte, and Lord Nemont disappeared, and as they were right next to him, Umbrawalker assumed he was next, and put his arms up ready to embrace the flames, but his barrier did not fall, and neither did Lady Caertyrne’s or Brarlea’s. Lastly, the barrier protecting Lord Kuevaal’s son Daravin would fade out from existing, allowing the flames to quickly penetrate and engulf him, along with all of the remaining families of the Lordships of the Twelve that Rhysian no longer needed.

When the sounds finally started to subside, the grounds all around them slowly lit up brilliantly under the suns brilliant rays as the smoke from the crazed explosion started to clear. They were no longer standing in a room, they were no longer standing in a building. The entirety of the ballroom, and anything and everything above and around it, had exploded and shot out in all directions, leaving nothing more than the broken base structure and floor of the building intact. The explosion had erupted from the inside of City Hall, and blow then entire south wing of the build-up leaving nothing in its wake. In the distance, the sounds of large chunks of debris could be heard landing in various districts of the city, crashing into and burning anything they touched. Slowly, small sections and buildings of the city would be awash in flame, as the debris from City Hall fell upon them.

As the smoke and dust slowly cleared, Rhysian could be seen stepping closer to Lord Arthur De’Freye, who was stepping back slowly shaking in fear at what he had just witnessed. "What the hell is going on… what did you just do?" He said fearfully as he looked about the remains of City Hall’s ballroom, seeing the charred corpses of the Valorian Nobles that had stood together with Rhysian just moments before. "You mean… what did YOU do...” Rhysian said mockingly as Arthur stumbled against some rubble and fell backward. As Rhysian took a step forward, not moments later, a familiar shadowed Rogue suddenly appeared shrouded in gray, landing on the ground in between Rhysian and Arthur. The grey eyes piercing from under his hood locked with Rhysian for just a moment, and just as quick, he threw a pellet to the ground, shrouding himself and his Lord in smoke, before darting out from behind, and disappeared. Watching carefully as Gerot and Arthur disappeared from view, Rhysian narrowed his eyes in anticipation and took a light breath. "Run, run, little Lord, run as far as you can...” He would say as the rest of the smoke and dust settled and the remaining lords finally had the nerve to move.

Valorian Noble || Daravin Jacque’don Kuevaal
[Where:] City Hall Ballroom [With:] Rhysian and Nobles [Feeling:][Outfit:] As seen
[OOC:]
╔═══════════════════

It was quite the emotional scene unravelling before Daravin’s phlegmatic gaze. The young Mikhail and Lelyna violently attempted to fight a battle in which they had no chance of victory. It was almost heart-breaking, to see the young woman thrash in her state of panicked hysteria, while the young prince’s life hanged in the balance…almost. Ordinarily, one would feel some form of emotion at the sight that was before all of them, however, Daravin simply felt…nothing…pure and total indifference. He listened, as Lelyna spoke those three little words, “I love him.” So, the two were lovers…it made sense. The human mind and body will always struggle to protect that which is precious to it. Once upon a time, Daravin too felt this sense of unending resolve, however, such a feeling had left him long ago, and all that he was, all that he had been up until this point was nothing but a husk of what he was in his younger years. His gaze travelled over to his parasite of a father, and he thought to himself…“Love dies.” His gaze, however, was brought back from his father as Rhysian suddenly released Mikhail and Lelyna from his spells, the young woman clinging to the King, crying her eyes out, begging for mercy, for forgiveness. Looking at Rhyisan, Daravin watched as his highness would state that this was the last time he would display any such notion of mercy, before walking away, leaving the girl on the floor, sobbing beside the young Kayl and Camilla.

It was then, as Rhysian himself aptly put it, “Time to finish this.” Rhysian would summon forth another noble, one whom Daravin had not seen, and speak of his plan to frame the nobleman for the destruction of city hall. A powerful message which was sure to rile the masses back in Gran Valor. Daravin pondered just who was this noble, some unfortunate soul, or someone of significane? He recieved his answer a he heard Rhysian reference the attack that had occurred on the city only a few months prior to now. So then, this was the noble man behind it...? At that moment, amidst Daravin's thoughts, Rhysian warned all to prepare themselves as all nobles were instructed to place themselves behind protective barriers summoned by the woman the woman, Krea. What followed by an enormous blast of flames that were sure to engulf any who were not protected by the barrier. As if one cue, certain barriers around various nobles began to drop. Daravin would watch, as his father, who was so calm and relieved, so sure that he would be spared, was engulfed by the flames, his very existence extinguished in an instant. Daravin would watch, motionless, as one by one, select nobles and their families would disappear into the flames. If Elmund was disposed of that that meant…“Hmph…so I’m next. Sure enough, the barrier protecting Daravin would dissipate and the raging flames would charge to engulf him. However…Daravin had his own tricks up his sleeve. Clicking his fingers, he summoned his own defensive barrier to shield him from the flames. As he did this, he brought both hands up, taking an deep breath, before swiping them downwards, as if to slip the flames in half, before waving his arms and hands around in circular motions, twisting and manipulating the flames around him so that they would pass him by. Soon enough, after a short period, the flames would disperse, leaving the smoke and dust surrounding him, pieces of debris fallen from various sections on the now partially lapsed building. Clicking his fingers again, Daravin would then deactivate his barrier once he believed himself safe from fallen wreckage. The smoke was so thick he could barely see anything. Rubbing his hands together, he would bring his arms up in a cross like motion, before swiping them outward in both directions, summoning a large gust of wind to clear the residual smoke and dust that had gathered, giving him a clear view of King De’Valaer and those remaining.
Now, the potentiality was that Rhysian would attempt to kill Daravin once more. If such was the case, so be it, but Daravin would die defenceless. After all, even if he were to perish this time, some part of him would be pleased that he died at the hands of one so wise and powerful as the King of Gran Soliceria.

Remaining silent, he awaited the response from those who could very well prove to be the death of him…

These hands could hold the world,

Camilla Umbrawalker

User Image
Camilla had been doing her best to ignore what was happening around her. She put all her focus on Lelyna and making sure she was comfortable. Closing her eyes tightly she could hear Mikhail screaming at the death of his sister. Tears would fall silently down Camilla's face. She hated this. She wished that she could have done something, anything to stop this whole situation. But it was beyond her. Even if she could somehow fight every Noble in the room, her father and Rhysian were far stronger than her. And in Rhysian's case, she wouldn't even be able to slow him down. So instead she sat quietly with Lelyna and cried to herself. Clenching her fist so tightly that her nails were causing her to bleed from her palm. It wasn't until Lelyna started moving that Camilla would open her eyes and gasp. But just as suddenly her small twitches became horrible convulsions. It was keen to that of a seizure. Camilla began to panic as she didn't know what was happening or what to do. Kayl had rushed to her and asked her what was happening. Camilla simply shook her head. " I-I don't know! She just started doing this out of nowhere! I-I-I don't know what to do! " Camilla would say scared that her friend might die in her arms. But seeing Rhysian so close now it was clear that he had something to do with it. From the scene playing out before her, it was as if the two were conversing. But that couldn't be since Leylna was unconscious.

Glaring hard at the man who had just thrown her beloved and was daring to touch Lelyna she would bare and grit her teeth. If he laid another hand on Kayl she was going to lose it. Just past Rhysian, she would watch as Mikhail, who had become free once Rhysian's concentration was broken, ran to defend his beloved. Camilla couldn't even get a word out to try and stop him before Rhysian had snatched him up by the neck. Then just as suddenly Lelyna was gasping for air and sitting up. With little to no hesitation, she grappled Rhysian's leg and began pleading for Mikhail's life. If this was Camilla from before her time here she would have harshly judged Lelyna for her display. But current Camilla understood. For Kayl, she'd happily die. If it meant doing exactly what his sister was doing now, she'd do it for him. If she had to kill all of Trendle herself in order to save Kayl, she'd do it. So instead of judging the poor girl, Camilla would simply remain sitting where she was and comfort her friend once Rhysian had spared Mikhail. But now Rhysian was going to wrap things up it would seem. Maybe that meant they could leave? No, this man's cruelty knew no bounds. He wouldn't let them leave while there was still some sort of fight in them or any room for disobedience. No, he would make sure to wrap up things by making absolutely sure his words and his rule were absolute. And as if to confirm her suspicions there stood a man she did not recognize. But taking the context of Rhysian's words into account she assumed this man was someone of stature among the Trendelonian nation.

She would catch his last name before Rhysian began casting some sort of spell. De’Fraye. It would seem this poor man was about to be the scapegoat for Rhysian's plans. But depending on how this spell went there wouldn't matter. It was at this point Camilla realized Mikhail's sister's body still laid upon the floor. Looking around Camilla stood up. Looking to Kayl and Lelyna she would look back to Catherine's body. She wouldn't let her stay here. Seeing Rhysian charging some sort of spell she made her move. Camilla ran full sprint towards Catherine's body. Scooping her body in her arms Camilla turned her Raiment on and burst forth from her spot towards Kayl and Lelyna. Sliding to a stop beside her beloved and knelt down and laid Catherine's body down in front of her. Releasing her raiment Camilla looked back to see the ball explode and flames shoot outwards towards the group. Turning her back to it she'd crouch down waiting for it to hit her. She hadn't heard the Krea woman cast her spell. Feeling Kayl wrap his arms around her and feeling Lelyna against her she would open her eyes. Looking back once more she could see Kayl's father embracing them all as if to protect them. Yet Camilla's own father wasn't anywhere to be seen. Looking around as best she could, Camilla would try her best to see through the flames. She could hear people dying one after another. And suddenly the fire was gone. Smoke covered the room. Breaking from her beloved's and family's embrace she looked around for her father. Upon the young Kuevaal, Daravin cleared the smoke and showed who all was still alive. Her father was one of them. She was happy, but she couldn't believe that he hadn't tried to protect her in the slightest. On top of that, she had realized that her mother wasn't present for any of this. Not that she minded but was she safe? Did Rhysian already get to her? She'd need answers soon. But for now, she remained close to Kayl and his family as she waited to see how things unfolded from here as the Lord f Trendle was taken away by a man in grey. The smell of burnt flesh and blood was the only thing she could smell. Blood covered her hands and part of her outfit now. Her face stained with ash and tears. When would they be released from this nightmare?

but it'll never be enough.

~ City Hall - Ballroom ~

User Image Tala kept his gaze firmly fixed upon the ground, not sure if he could bear to witness the death of another student from the Academy... There was of course very little he could do about it, for he feared if he made so much as a shuffle in offence towards the Elder for what was occurring before them, he'd be struck down for his insubordination... Yet it would appear as though luck had smiled upon Mikhail - if only for a moment - as the Elementor's eyes would catch sight of the shadow cast by that familiar black mist before lifting to view the scene as Baba suddenly made a move towards the Nobility that had overseen the entire event...

Quite uncertain as to what Lord Rhysian had planned, Tala would fall into line behind the Old Witch, keeping his distance from the gathering nobles, yet ensuring he was safely within the protection of Baba's barriers as the Elder seemed to set the room alight... Fire swirled all around and the Shadowmancer's eyes would watch, his heart racing before drawing a silent breath as the flame suddenly shot outward...

Wave after wave of flame passed over the barriers and Tala would watch with a mixture of awe and fear at the beauty and sheer devastation that the searing light would cause... It was only as he spotted the silhouette of the Elder advance through the flame towards them that he would turn his attention towards Baba who had been chanting the entire time...

He was initially uncertain as to what silent exchange had passed between the pair standing before him, but the Old Witch would give a nod and then the screaming would begin... Tearing his attention from the pair, Tala would watch as a selection of the barriers began to fail, casting those unfortunate few into a fiery oblivion - it was amazing how close in proximity these individuals were to where the youth was standing, so close that he could have reached out and touched them if he felt he might just get his hand back...

The last thing the Shadowmancer had expected to see was the light of the sun above him, but as the roar of the flames began to subside, he was stunned to discover that they appeared to be...outside? Well...not quite outside, they were still technically standing on what remained of the floor of the Ballroom...It quickly became apparent that the walls that had once enclosed them within the Ballroom had in fact been blown outward, slamming themselves into nearby buildings and in turn setting them alight...

A brusque gust of wind would expel the smoke which would now reveal the charred remains of those who had been denied protection from the barriers... The sight seemed to do little in the way of making him feel any worse than he already did, but it was the smell that left him feeling sickly... Fighting back the taste in the base of his throat, Tala would cast his gaze elsewhere, surprised to see several of the nobles still standing - and no doubt counting their blessings...? Another vision was the group that consisted of Camilla, Lelyna, Kayl and...Catherine... He could see Camilla's arms coated in the female's blood, but once again averted his eyes... What was going to happen now?
