Physical Description: At 6'3", Glinda could have seen imposing if she had a more stern face. But its round, almost childlike look is more in line with the demure attitude she possesses, able to muster both wrath and joy in equal measure. She has medium length straw yellow hair that she tries to keep tidy and out of her hazel eyes and, despite her height, seems almost like an overgrown if mature child. Well, except for the noticeable chest.
Personality: Soft spoken and collected, Glinda is a maternal force that seeks to control and organize any chaos that comes her way. She is a lady, first and foremost, and nothing will besmirch that image without correction. While not fierce, it would be unwise to underestimate her ability to speak out and protect her own, as while she won't start fights, she will certainly end them with a cutting word or two.
There's ambition in this not so little lady, but it isn't a snarling take-all beast. Glinda is more than happy to play the long con, to build a network of connections and see who might be most profitable to be around at this or that time, to step back and consider all options first. She'll even take being seen as too feminine to take seriously if it gives her an edge, however much her pride rubs against it. Hers is a quiet would-be regime, where order reigns and rebels are quashed or put to more fruitful exploits. There's no need to be cutthroat when she is self-assured, and she rather doesn't like to get her hands dirty anyway. She might know someone who could for her at any rate.
But she is kind, make no mistake: she keeps a firm hand for the unruly but otherwise moves about the world with a lovely smile and a gentle touch, knowing that a few bad eggs can't ruin the bunch. In particular, she is quick to champion for other girls and doesn't agree with traditional gender roles being the end all be all for women--even though she herself would make a lovely wife, she knows.
Her best quality is her compassion: those she calls friends will be well cared for, if perhaps smothered by her (good intentioned) ruling on their individual lives. And if they don't take the advice, why, it's no skin off her nose; she just might remind about it when they face the consequences of the wrong path is all. And Faranth forbid someone truly anger her: Glinda's grudges never quite abate, even if the matter has long since passed. She's a woman who won't handle slights against her well enough as it is.

History:
Glinda was born twelve minutes before Oz, and she's never let that victory gather dust. Their more conservative parents tried to reel her ambitious tendencies in and were more than glad to have her supervise her brother as they took part in the family tradition of a work pilgrimage throughout Pern: this was both to cement the lessons they had been taught about the trade as well as reinforce current relationships and possibly forge new ones.
Being the face of their enterprise was something she took to like a dolphin to water, which was good considering Oz preferred less technical details and more nattering with would-be clients. It wasn't her dream job, however, and had begun to develop several plans to either continue up the corporate ladder or else find a higher position. It was then that the twins were Searched, and a new option was given to her that she hadn't actively considered. And while Glinda wasn't a brawler, the idea of becoming a well known dragonrider was just too much to pass up.
Agreeing to standidatehood alongside her brother (whom she believed was a terrible candidate and whom had probably skated by only thanks to being related to her), the two continue to peddle their wares closer to the weyr as clutchings come. Her heart cries for a gold to command, but for Glinda, anything that meets her proud streak with a level eye will do. And if it isn't in the cards, well, she certainly has back up plans upon back up plans.
