"I'm glad you all could make it." Roman Sionis started, "As you probably already know, Gotham has a new savior. A new beacon of hope if you will." he looked at the other crime-lords gathered around in his Mansion all strongly encouraged to come if they wished to stay in business. It was agreed upon while he handled the gritty work that Talia would carry out her plans. So she nor that big scary Heretic were not present. The following however were, first as his protection, Bane, then there was Oswald Cobblepot also known as the Penguin, Carmine Falcone, Two-Face, and some new players. "I'm here to offer that each of you may resume your businesses so long as I get a 30% cut of all your earnings from every deal. It sounds pretty fair given the alternatives...wouldn't you say?" he placed reached over and placed Deathstroke's helm on the table in front of everyone to see. Reminding them of how far his reach extended. They could think what they wanted of him. But Sionis was a very smart man, he outsmarted and outgunned the clown. And he played a part in terminating the Terminator. His resume wrote itself. It was up to these men to either decide to play ball or...be killed brutally by his amigo here.

“Bloody hell.” Penguin murmured underneath his breath as he rested his body on one of Sionis’ lounge chairs. His gloved hands wrapped around the handle of his loaded umbrella even tighter as he quietly growled behind his sagging pale neck. Oswald had kept away from last night events, thinking it was just another botched crime war in Gotham. Ya see, these things were a norm here but he would of never thought that this wanker would overpower the clown. Now he’s before the biggest remaining crime lords of Gotham and he’s cornered with an offer that has a loaded gun behind it, only a suicidal mutt would decline that offer. Ya see, Cobblepott is a man of business, of course he does his little crimes, heists, and dramatic actions, but the man was rich and the man was smarter than many people thought too. He’s gonna have to play nicely if he wants to win. Oswald hated Mask, and right now he wishes he can crack his pretty little face open for threatening not only his life but most importantly his business. All of this means that his earnings from the Iceberg Lounge and Casino, and whatever else he gets from the streets, will have to be divided.

“Just when I thiught it was enough to ‘ave that pointy-eared freak and the whole Gotham police force up my arse when it came to my business, here you come mad as a bag of ferrets, wavin’ yer rules around and yer flippy terms and conditions just to keep the peace. Well ill tell ya what, I’ll dance to yer stinkin song, mother would call me a fool if I didn’t, you’v gotchaself a bloody deal….

"A new beacon of hope?" Harvey Dent sneered, finding the idea utterly absurd, coming from Sionis's gob. Unlike Cobblepot who simply turned on his back and presented his belly at the first sign of danger, Two-Face was a different animal altogether. He didn't even pay heed to the masked mercenary hovering over Black Mask's shoulder nor for the fact that the newly self-proclaimed Dark Knight of Gotham had killed the Terminator himself. To him Sionis was just another name in the ever growing line of individuals that had claimed ownership over the Gotham underworld. As though that had actually meant something to all of those gathered here. Several of the gathered bosses present had claimed similar titles. Carmine, Penguin, even himself had all done so in the past. And all of them had seen their criminal empires toppled by the same b*****d that had plagued this city for years. The Batman. Sionis was simply the first one to take advantage of the Bat's absence. If he hadn't , than Two-Face himself would have. If not Two-Face, than Penguin or the Roman or Maxie Zeus or any of the assembled crime lords.

Between the Black Mask, the Penguin, and himself, the three of them controlled the largest portions of the Underworld. And where as before there had been some semblance of balance, Sionis had thrown the whole equilibrium into chaos. The way Dent saw it, he could grab the G18 Automatic pistol resting in his lap and unload all thirty three rounds into Sionis here and now , probably either dying or igniting a shoot out in the process . Alternatively he could acquiesce to the Mask's demands and simply bide his teams. He'd probably live and the lord only knew how swiftly power shifted in Gotham. This little bubble that Sionis had built himself would burst eventually and like the craven jackal that he was, Two-Face would be there at the end. He was equally content and conflicted with either option so there was only one way of deciding left to him. "Better to let fate decide..." Two-Face said in the now predictable mannerism that had defined who he was. Reaching for infamous coin that he kept safe in his pocket, he twirled in between each of his fingers before flipping it. The coin spun through the air , hovering for just a second before falling downwards onto the table. It smacked down, landing on it's edge where it spun for a brief moment. Heads would lead to Sionis receiving a full clip into his abdomen. Tales and the new Dark Knight of Gotham would find himself untroubled.

It had landed tails and thus sealed Dent's choice. " It's decided then. You've got a deal Sionis. 30% nothing more, nothing less. With the Bat gone, it's not as though we'll be losing anything. " Realistically, Dent knew that this transaction between the three would probably benefit him in the long run. Sionis had played his cards at the right time and the right place, and now everyone would dance to his team. But he wondered than what had happened to those that hadn't. Like the rest of those gathered, he had heard of the dispute between Sionis and the Joker. He wasn't about to ask for any of Joker's territory, but he was still curious as to what had happened to the so called Clown Prince of Crime. He thought it better not to ask and for that he didn't need a coin.

Carmine Falcone is one of the most fearsome men in Gotham but despite his reputation in the city's underworld he was just a mere mortal. So to protect himself in any case The Black Mask meeting were to turn ugly, he turned to Sameer Park, also known as Copperhead. Copperhead slithered around the floor of Sionis's mansion and under the meeting table. After hearing a slam on the table, Copperhead slowly rose from the ground to curiously inspect what Black Mask wanted the white collared criminals of Gotham to see. Could it be? What stood before him was Slade's helmet but it appeared it has a lot of battle scars. Was Black Mask really that powerful? Moments later, the so called Dark Knight confirmed Copperhead's expectation of how much capabilities he had. Demanding 30% of all earnings from all of Gotham was pretty ballsy of him. Thinking that Black Mask can pay him better than Falcone, Copperhead slithered his way to Black Mask and wiped his bionic tail beneath his chin and whispered into his ear ."My My Mr Sionis. *hisssssss* if you can pay me more than that bozo over there, I can assure you *hisssssss* that i can help persuade them for you *hisssssss*"

Azrael has been tracking Black Mask’s movements for weeks, studying them carefully. He was sent to Gotham by the Order of St. Dumas, in response to Batman’s disappearance. It also is where the scourge of Santa Prisca, has been hiding. Which is the home country of the Order of St. Dumas. As such Jean-Paul was more than ready for Bane, let alone the others who were congregating with Black Mask. In the building of those gathered, would notice that the lights would go off. Shortly after such they would hear glass shattering, as Azrael made his entrance. Holding to hands on this sword, it would light up on fire being the only source of light for those present. “I’m afraid that is where you’re wrong Black Mask. Your are no Knight. And I the angel of Death of and Vengeance am here to collect what is due. For your crimes Black Mask, you have been hereby sentenced death.” The a.i., within Valley’s suit had already pin pointed and calculated everyone’s weaknesses. He would keep both hands on his sword waiting someone foolish enough other than Black Mask to make their first move.

Just before Copperhead expected a response from Mask, the lights from Black Mask's mansion turned off. The room felt a little colder ominous. To break the silence, a voice shook the room. “I’m afraid that is where you’re wrong Black Mask. Your are no Knight. And I the angel of Death of and Vengeance am here to collect what is due. For your crimes Black Mask, you have been hereby sentenced death.” said the unkown intruder. Using his infrared eyesight, Copperhead can clearly see a figure but something was off about this person. It appears the intruder has a special kind of sword of some sort and it obviously emitted a lot of energy. Thinking he can take advantage of the darkness as well, Copperhead slithered his way on the floor and attempts to ambush the intruder from behind. As he jumped on the back of the intruder, he then prepares to bite his neck in order to inject his lethal venom in him. "Hsssssssssssss, it's never a good idea to be in a dark room with a snake hsssssssssssssss."

Sionis' meeting had been going as expected. He put both hands together and smiled. "I'm glad we all could come to this understa-" before he could finish his sentence, he was cut off. The room went black and Sionis sat there on edge and irritated. "You gotta be shitting me. There's more of you?" Black Mask called out in response to this new vigilante. Only this one was a little less Batman and more Red Hood in his approach. His veiled threat to "sentence him to death" made Sionis turn up his lip. He was tired of these threats. When would they get it? He was Gotham's new Dark Knight no questions about it. He stood up out of his seat prepared to--wait was that sword glowing?--Sionis thought, easing backwards. Copperhead provided as a great diversion for him to escape. He would back up into his brute, Bane, and tel him to follow along. He didn't care about leaving the others for dead. He shielded from any glass while he ran.

Oswald watched as Harvey flipped his coin up in the air, making him a little worried what the outcome would be, knowing that if he dared to shoot Mask there will be an all out bloody shoot-out. With Bane there keeping an eye on them all and Copperhead hssssing down their necks, the last thing they should do is flip the table on Sionis. The b*****d doesn’t play. Sure he was a little nervous but he sure as hell wasn’t going to let this play out for too long. His jaw clenched as he was hypnotized by the flow of the coin in the air, and said to himself..

“Harvey, you knobhead, you’re going to get us killed and if I make it out alive I swear on my motha’s grave I’ll be sure to find you and shove that coin so far up ya’ arse, it’ll flip out of ya’mouth. For the love of God...”

DUN!

The coin smacked the surface of the table and then spun around

Vuah vuah vuah vuah...vuah...vuah...vuah… din!

The coin landed on tails, “Oh happy day.” Cobblepot said with such a nasty and pissed tone. He always thought how unbelievably retarded it was that someone would let a damn coin make the decision for them or better yet, everyone in the god darn room. “Well well, I guess you win chav, we’ve officially made ya’ sixty percent richer. Say? Why don’t use that money to get yourself a new face, something less-”

Suddenly the lights went off and Penguin flinched and began to yell, “I knew this was a trap, you brought us here to get rid of us you son of b-“ he was suddenly interrupted by the appearance of sword, overshadowing them with its light as the wielder presented threatening words.

It was as if Black Mask read Bane’s mind. If Sionis had not suggested they leave Bane would have. And for precisely the exact same reasons Sionis was thinking. Way Bane saw it, the criminals upstairs were not only expendable, but also meant territory Sionis would gain under his complete authority if any one of them were to die. Bane was no stranger to the tactics Azrael was using. Fortunately Bane was trained by the League of Assassins, making it easy for him to navigate in the dark. And if Sionis needed guidance to escape Bane would provide it as they both rushed down the stairs for their escape. Bane also was more than impressed with Roman at this point. It became clear to Bane for whatever reasons Talia chose Black Mask, that she chose right. Bane also knew he would have to study their new opponent later, as this was a new vigilante he’s never heard of or seen before, but something about the mask menace was eerily familiar.

Lights out. Glass Shattered. And some freak with a flaming sword appearing out of nowhere. It was safe to say that negotiations were now over. Not that it mattered, there was not much bargaining left to be done. Although this new freaks sudden appearance had been amusing at first. He clearly had a hard on for Black Mask, staging this whole fiasco in order to what? Scare him? Impress him? Who knew? Who cared? It was pathetic and more so than that, it was out right stupid. This guy was new. And like any new guy in town, he had clearly underestimated all of those that were now here before him.

"Now that's just ******** precious." Two-Face sneered, not intimidated by this sword wielding nut case who clearly thought himself the new Batman. Why else would he be appearing after the fact that the Bat was gone? Harvey waited for someone else to make the first move. He didn't have to wait long considering Copperhead was now on top of the new vigilantes back, attempting to restrain or poison him. Bane was quick to shuffle his current employer out of the room. Unfortunate. He would have hoped to see Mask's head lopped off but that would have to be another day. That left Copperhead alone and honestly, he didn't care about Copperhead enough, at least not enough to worry about friendly fire.

Two-Face surged to his feet, G18 Automatic pistol in hand, and moved to grab Cobblepot by the collar of his coat. He pulled hard on the man's coat, nearly throwing him off the chair and towards the exit" Let's go Cobblepot, can't afford to lose you just yet." He practically growled at the Penguin. Between the Mask, the Penguin, and himself, they made up the prime powers within the city, and he couldn't afford any more shake ups . Better for the Penguin to live than die now. As he followed behind, he raised his pistol into the air and pulled the trigger. The pistol roared furiously, rapidly spitting out it's full clip towards the two engaged freaks that were now fighting. As they left the room. He emptied his gun and slammed in a fresh magazine "Hopefully they kill each other." He said aloud to the Penguin, running along the halls of the Black Mask mansion.

Azrael’s plans worked out better than expected, with most of the crooks choosing to run away than stand and fight. Unfortunately for copperhead, The Suit of Sorrows already had a profile on him and already uploaded the data to Jean-Paul. As such he was not surprised by this attack one bit. As copperhead went to leap on Azrael’s back he already moved the blade to face behind so that copperhead’s maneuver would likely cause the serpent to taste the fire of Valley’s blade. Failing that, Valley also would turn his back to two face and penguin, using copperhead as a human shield as Two-Face launched bullets at him. It would become clear Azrael was nothing like the bat, and that he had no regard unlike the bat for the safety of low-life scum such as themselves. Not only that but when Azrael stabbed backwards towards Copperhead he was aiming for a lethal blow. And if his actions wasn’t proof enough his words would be. “Continue to aid the imposter Knight filth, I will see to it your end comes shortly as well.” Only question would remain is would Copperhead allow the armoured foe to stab him, just to get the bite or not. And even if successful in biting the new vigilante the snake would soon learn his entire body was encased in highly advanced technological armour protecting him from razor sharp objects like the snake’s teeth. The armour it self was strong enough to withstand bullets. Jean-Paul Valley however was pissed, as Copperhead was successful in one thing, he was proving to be a long enough distraction to let Black Mask escape. This setback would cause Azrael weeks of preparation. And if Copperhead did decide to let him go, to avoid Valley’s counter attacks there would be no guarantee he’d be able to catch Black Mask now.

The room was moving extraordinary fast, or maybe it was the thought of Bane and Mask suddenly disappearing that made Oswald feel like he had blinked twice too many times. As the vigilante danced with the snake, Cobblepott was basically being dragged out of the room by Harvey. “AY! Hands off you fried face fu-“ bullets just barely skinned his aged face and his beak like nose, as they fired out of Harvey’s hand gun. Causing a minor distraction, on top of Copperhead wrapped around the wanna-be.

“Hold up a secon’ I’ve got a lil surprise for the beau-it-ful couple..”

Penguin swung his umbrella before him and rest it on top of his forearm before it sprung upon, “Night night” pulling the trigger he launched a small missile that would obliterate that side of the mansion.

As Copperhead leap on top of Azrael's back, he could feel the hard cold exterior of Azrael's Armor. Unfortunately for Copperhead, this means he has to exhaust his toxin capacity by spitting the acid on his victim. Before he could do such action, Azrael turned his back in front of gun fire using copperhead as a human shield. Although his robotic tail absorbed most of the bullets, Two-Face manage to hit him in a couple of areas, barely hitting his vital organs. The bullets stung him for a while which made Copperhead losen his grip on Azrael and jumped off his back. Injured and weakened, Copperhead struggled to get back on his feet to make another strike on Azrael. Barely standing up, Copperhead manage to squirt some toxins on Azrael, hoping the acid will corrode his armor.

However before he would squirt more toxins, a small projectile which seems to be apart of Penguin's Umbrella made contact on the ground Copperhead was nearly standing on. The explosion burnt his suit, damaged his robotic tail, and sent him flying out of the mansion's glass windows causing him to fall from Mask's mansion. After making contact to the ground, Copperhead lost consciousness rendering him useless.

All these years working with Batman and he had never been inside his..work space. The trophies, all the vehicles, and suits. It was exactly like he expected, but a bit brighter than he imagined. The temptation to cope with a smoke was high but he figured the place had rules, much like the police department. With the older boy out of commission, and the situation only getting more worse for wear on the outside, Gordon really didn't favor their odds. "You can go ahead and call the rest of your friends now." He said with a light chuckle before clearing his throat. Why hadn't Robin called in some help? He knew there were more, at the very least three to five others who could come in and see and end to this. At the very least they had the purple wearing newcomer. Huntress or whatever she was calling herself. Another vigilante he had to keep tabs on in his city.

When Robin showed Gordon to a surprise that would put the police commissioner on an equal footing with the threat, Gordon looked up in awe at the mechanical creation. "You can't be serious?" Gordon asked, noting it's ridiculous look. He sighed a heavy sigh before adjusting his glasses some. "Well I've seen the cave, met the family, my own suit..What's left? A nickname? Gordon let the dry joke fade into obscurity as he ran his hand over the metallic blue surface. "Barbara, if you could see me now. Was all Gordon said as he outfitted himself with some of the best Batman had to offer. "This wasn't my first, second, or third idea on how to handle those monsters but I gotta say: it ain't half bad." Gordon played around with the appendages before closing them into a tight fist. A weird fit and a tad hard to operate but he needed an edge that was just a little more than a handgun.

Tim Drake | Red Robin | Batcave

Earlier

Ra's had done more than destroy Gotham, in a sense, he had pretty much destroyed the family. Bruce was nowhere to be found. Tim and Steph hadn't been speaking much, if at all - and that wasn't even to say he had been in much contact with the others after what had happened. The most intelligent thing that Tim Drake would ever do was to realise his folly - that the disunity in the family meant that there would only ever be disunity in Gotham. "Tim Drake should know better." He thought to himself as he sat in a slump against a wall. Slamming back his head, and pushing his hands through his hair, he argued with himself, "Tim Wayne... I'm Tim Wayne. Oh God. What's happening to my life? What am I doing?" d**k, and much to his chagrin, Damian, needed him. Plus, Tim was long in need of working out some aggression, and Gotham's criminals were made perfect just for that.

Tim had intercepted a message from Black Mask to his thugs to surround his office after some gang war between the criminals had began to break out. Altering the message for just one of his thugs, Tim had lured him to an alternate location. The thug was now labouring under the illusion to meet with a prospective associate, and convince them to join. Armed to the teeth, he still wasn't prepared for what would swoop behind him. A great shadow swathed over him. The Red Robin had incapacitated him fairly easy, smashing him straight into a wall with a great push from his legs as he swept down. The thug dropped his weapon like a coward, and before he could even turn his face to meet his assailant, a knee was already being firmly placed on his back. Batman was gone, and he wasn't Robin - was there even a line to cross? Did it even matter? Even as Tim felt himself crossing the line, 5 broken fingers later, he was up to date with Sionis' game, and what had become of the others. Whether or not the others knew it, Tim knew Bruce was out there. He's all Tim had, he had to be out there.

Present

Tim stood shirtless in his room. The dark contusions on his abdomen were nearly healed from his run in with Deathstroke the last time he had properly been out in the field. Before him was a map of the city, and with various pins in different places. A small rumour that had no credence of the crime-lords was circling, but that was enough for Tim to investigate. There was an uneasy silence between them, and with what had happened recently at the headquarters of Mask according to the Thugs, there was probably a reason. "Master Tim, you've been standing there for about an hour now. Is there anything I can help you with, sir?" The most welcome voice of Alfred played in the back of Tim's mind. "I could do with some common sense, please." He thought to himself, and replied to the family butler with only "I'm fine, thank you Alfred." He did not mean for his tone to sound dismissive, but after years of dealing with Bruce, Alfred knew when to take his leave. Timothy ran his fingers across his chin in thought - what was Sionis planning? He threw on the rest of his costume, and descended down into the Bat-cave.

He needed to get more information on the recent activity of the crime-lords, and where and why they'd been summoned. He was on his way until he saw none other than Commissioner Gordon on his way down. Always expecting the unexpected... perhaps not this once. His step forward became a step back as he looked down and saw Gordon. He adjusted his red domino mask, and spoke up to announce his presence, "Commissioner."
