A wonderfully handsome mashup of the best (in his opinion) features of his incredibly good looking (again, opinion) parents, Yurastar is a russet-headed, shaggy haired individual decked with olive flesh and kissed with freckles. Due to his young age he hasn't had a chance to grow into his face, leaving him with ears that look a little too large on his head and cheeks that are in desperate need of shaving down the baby fat. He's tall and gangly, made of knees and elbows and limbs he wants to grow in to as quickly as he can.
Thanks his unfortunate and unlucky nature, Yurastar is almost always seen sporting a bandage (or two or three) on his body. He never is injured to the point of being placed in the infirmary, but bruises are common place and it's often thought the young boy looks out of place if he doesn't have some sort mark on his body.
Personality: Unlucky doesn't even begin to describe what Yurastar is; if such a thing as Murphy's law exists on Pern, then he is the law incarnate. Anything that can go wrong around him does, and often in hilarious or seriously unfortunate ways. Happen to be walking past someone who is dumping water? Expect to get soaked. New bucket? Enjoy the handle falling off while carrying something. Using a shovel? Be prepared for the spade to get stuck - such events are so common for the poor boy that his life more or less revolves around trying not to cause problems for others. A result of his unfortunate ability to attract disaster it's rather difficult for people to come to depend on him - most folks wouldn't want to take that risk, after all. Yurastar tries hard and he generally means well, but it's troublesome when any task he undertakes ends up in mild disaster. Thankfully, Yurastar doesn't let his streak of bad luck dampen his mood, as he's quite an optimistic individual. Looking forward to each new experience and each new day, there isn't much that prevents him from trying new thing or going new places, even though there is the knowledge that something is definitely going to happen.
Yurastar isn't exactly outgoing, and instead is quite content to just go with the flow. Having grown up in a home full of dominating personalities, by comparison he is a shy individual who seldom speaks and can be found sitting quietly in the shadows of his family. His speech and movements are soft, almost always hesitant, and very seldom does he raise his eyes to meet those of whom he is talking to. It's rather easy to dismiss and bully him because of his nature, but when push comes to shove he will defend himself - physically and verbally. Yurastar is aware that he can be considered a doormat but that doesn't mean everyone is welcome to step on him - there's a time and a place, and certain people only who can poke and prod and not get pushed back for it. He also doesn't like people who treat others poorly and will step in when he feels it's needed, even at the risk of personal injury.
Perhaps best of all, Yurastar is resilient both physically and mentally. Most everything can be laughed off or shrugged off, which when coupled with his absolutely abysmal luck and his doormat-like nature is rather a blessing. Turns of getting injured daily have left him with a ridiculously high pain tolerance, and those same moments have left him forgiving no matter the circumstances. Nothing is ever taken personal unless the intent is clear, and if indeed the interaction in malicious then Yurastar tends to respond in kind. He's an honest person, having been raised by his parents to tell the truth and keep no secrets, and as a result he's open in his emotions (when asked) and doesn't take pains to hide them. While he is open with thoughts he is not blunt or cruel, as he knows a time and place for such things, but he does tend to frown a little at those who would lie to others in efforts to advance themselves.
He certainly doesn't like people who take advantage of others through their words and actions, and oddly enough when pressed into a corner he won't back down until he gets an apology. Not for himself of course, he can handle the issues, but for the guilty party to admit their wrongs and correct the problem. Yurastar isn't brave enough to risk his life for strangers, but he's also not enough of a coward or a bad guy to ignore someone in need if there's something he can do for them.

History: Affectionately and lovingly born to two Greenrider parents - A'star and Euryale - Yurastar was the second child and thus garnered the nickname Repeat. Raised in a family full of love, which only expanded as more children were born, his childhood was uneventful but knowledgeable through lessons with his parents and working with candidates to help whenever he could.
The return of Thread has hardened the young man's resolve to help others as best he can, even if he knows he's likely to fail. If he can help his parents and protect his family what more is there to worry about?
