Nanogg Breckt

Nanogg had found a few ways to 'acquire' mushrooms -- one of his favorite foods -- and had decided that he definitely wanted to roast them at that cool roasting booth he'd seen around.

Approaching, though, he noticed an unusual thing -- a whole bunch of people that he recognized, more or less. Including 'Rizzoh' herself?!

His lusus peeked out at the smell of cooking meat, rubbing her eyes from a nap in his 'nap'sack. She wasn't really that hungry, and she was thinking about her ice structure... was it okay?

She hoped it was.

If it was edible, and it was free, Byakko was game. Unless it was peas. No more peas.

"This seems satisfactory." She nodded in approval at Luxara, moving to take her seat. Akko was far from a glutton, if anything she preferred small portions- but with an all you can eat contest, she could have hearty meals for days! If only she had thought to line her pockets with tin foil... Odette would be cross if she stained her disguise horribly. What a terrible predicament she found herself in.

"Oh- Xionek. Greetings." Rizzoh turned to the orangeblood, waving her over. "How has Bloodfest been treating you?" Probably fine, if Kei was just about to settle down to a meal. Still, it felt like it was her responsibility to ask.

Out of the corner of her eye- yet another rebel, albiet much younger, popped out of the woodworks. Free meat was, indeed, enticing. "Why don't you join us?" She patted the free seat next to her, looking expectantly- almost sternly- at Nanogg.

"It's been treating me fair, to well. And thee? Hast thou tried the many entertainments available?" She hoped so -- it was always a regret, to miss as many of the booths as she did.

Well, if they were inviting him over, then he had to go.

"Sure thing." he said, taking his seat with an easy air. Mari took one of his skewers, bit into it, and whispered in his ear -- her sculpture needed her. "Go on, I'll see you there later." he murmured back. And, pointy stick and food (two in one!!!) in hand, she flew off. He was the only kid here -- he didn't need his lusus, did he?

"So, what are we talking about?" he asked, lowering his voice. Admittedly, he was excited -- it felt conspirational, and also... collegial? Yeah, that sounded right. They were surrounded by outsiders, and only they knew the truth.

It was really neat. It made Nanogg feel... strong. He was the only one going by his real name, (and the only kid there) but he kind of liked that, too.

Luxara gave the other rebels a quick half-wave half-salute, retreating into her persona. Now it was a party, but she...wanted to eat something. Party could wait.

She ordered a dish and brought it back with her. Luxara did not miss the number thing going on. "You can win stuff with the right number. It's just a chance thing. Not much skill, but trolls love their gambling."

Luxara herself liked...skill. She couldn't help eyeing the eating contest. Not that she could eat that many ribs, probably, but those who could were definitely impressive.

It's Time to Chow Down!
Ribs Eaten: 24

He'd not gotten the chance to return to this booth, but now that he has he can feel the hunger and it's calling for some ribs. Delicious!

Knetic readies some napkins and wet wipes before beginning the chomp down. Almost immediately he can feel something isn't quite right. His hunger is almost instantly gone and it's on the 20th rib! He did so well last time and now he's faltering at 24? His stomach lied to him and once the 12 minutes past he's left sated but oddly defeated.

Cooked: One (1) Sofishticated fish

Muerte had an epiphany as he was trawling around the busy booths, and it was that if he didn't do something with this fish soon, things might get a little nasty. Granted, he could've just stuffed the bag with some snow to keep it cold, but that was extra weight that would be dragging him down.

When he saw the Whole Hog booth and the available fire pits, his mind immediately set a plan into motion.

Muerte Perist did not care for fish, but he also wouldn't look a gift hoofbeast in the mouth either. Taking one of the meant-for-smallow rods, he produced the still-slimy fish from the abyss of his jacket and skewered. As he stared at it, he realized it probably would have done him some good to remove the skin--properly filet it even--but it was too late to turn back. Instead, he used the helpful tiger lusus present to wipe the fish-goo off of his hands and set up with his prize over the open flames.

As he slowly turned it like a faux-rotisserie, he took the time to survey the other trolls. Seemed like other rebels had sought out the free food--why wouldn't they? While he didn't have a problem with most of them, Byakko wasn't someone he felt like dealing with and Luxara even less so. Still, he refused to give up his spot. He hunkered down indignantly into his scarf-high-collar-jacket combo. Maybe he'd just get mistaken for a rotund wriggler instead, since his actual put together disguise was buried under layers of warmth.

What could he say. As soon as the brownblood found out that the ribs were back, he came back with them. The brownblood saw his fellow rebels all enjoying the food themselves, and it made him smile. Good food really did bring everyone together. He waved at the other swamp dwellers as he licked his fingers and picked up a trash bag. This brownblood was not gonna just eat! Helping! Right?

Sarcel wasn't really here to chitchat or do anything like that. Rather she smelled the food and she decided that it would be in her best interest to grab a bite for her and Nahori to eat back at te booth. Seeing Volkei working so hard was nice--it was good to gather up all the ethics you could at a young age--but she also felt a little bad. Kids deserved to be kids, to an extent. Ah well.

"I just need two servings." She explained. Did Nahori eat meat? She realized she didn't actually know the extent of her recruit's diet, shame on her. Well regardless.

"Ah, thank you." She took the plate and wandered off with it, not bothering to check the bottom or... anything....

Eilidh looked excited as she heard there was ribs back on the menu. The smell of the BBQ floating through the cold winter night made her stomach rumble. She could eat a whole mountain of them! Or so she believed. Sitting down for the eating contest, she prepared to chow down. Only they were so good..it was distracting. By the time twelve minutes were up, she sighed patting her belly. She could easily eat more, but they were just so satisfying even what she'd had!

Trevel was back for another night of deliciously cooked food. He had to admit, the lowblood really knew what they were doing. Getting in line, he waited, somewhat bored. He had told Eyzaak when to meet him...and had even decided to surprise the blueblood with a plate of his own. The other had talked about going to get food with him..and despite Trevel teasing him, he made good on the offer.

Sitting down, he waited until the plates were set out. He had an impatient look on his face, but soon it was replaced by a smirk as he caught site of the other troll not far off, running in this direction.

Eyzaak rushed over towards the BBQ joint. Damn did it smell goooooood. He had whined at his buddy to come with him. Eyzaak hadn't really been by yet, he had a million other things going on but finally, the allure of the booth was just too much. So, when the other agreed to go with him Eyzaak promised as soon as booth duties were changing hand (it was Kio's turn to keep an eye on things) he had rushed over to meet up with him.

Waving a hand, the blueblood grinned as he already had a plate waiting for him. Tossing himself into the seat, he beamed at the other and happily started chomping away. When Trevel mentioned checking under the plates...he lifted his up and gasped in surprise. Food and a prize?! Okay, sure! The lava lamp was pretty rad, and he looked like a child on 12th perigee as he let out a delighted childish laugh.

Xavier had followed after his matesprite to check out the BBQ booth setup. The wonderful aroma in the air made his mouth water. The jadeblood sat down for the eating competition with a somewhat unsure look on his face. Hearing what would need to be done in order to compete, his eyes widened slightly. Well, he could try at least, right?

Adding a smile for encouragement towards his tealblood, he waited until the buzzer went off...and immediately began chowing down. Xavier had never eaten so much meat (or food for that matter) in SUCH a short amount of time. While it wasn't crazy like some of the other competitors, he groaned by the time he was done. Patting his now full belly he sighed as he leaned back in his chair. He would need a forklift to carry him away, surely.

Stryke wandered back towards the peaceful little getaway. He had briefly stopped by to get a plate of food and had happily chowed down. With a full stomach, and a sense of peace about him he decided to go sit down where he knew it would be quiet, and away from other trolls.

Sort of. As he approached the fireside...he caught sight of several things all at once. Byakko was one of them. He smiled as he nodded to her. He planned to bring her something like cocoa hopefully the next time he ran into her. The thought made his cheeks flush. Ugh. Keionx was offered a pleasant smile, and even Meurte...although the exchange was somewhat guarded unsurprisingly. He was pretty sure he also saw Luxara at some point as well, and she'd gotten a nod from him. The child Nanogg, also earned a small smile from Stryke.

Dressed as a very warm, overly layered Forger, he knew well enough..most of the rebels knew who he was. Easing himself down into a sitting position by the fire, he unzipped his jacket to pull out his usual smoking pipe he carried with him. Much like the night before, he sat in quiet contemplation..staring into the flames as they crackled and popped. A smoke ring left his lips as it gradually floated upwards, before vanishing. Several neater little rings followed the first one.

A sort of grumpy, quiet expression fell over his features as he sighed.

Maybe..just one marshmallow wouldn't hurt? His sweet tooth was nagging at him. Glancing around the campfire, he sheepishly snatches up a few sticks..poking each onto one of the soft fluffy mellows and letting it sit over the open flame. "Hmm...Nice night for stargazing I'd say." He had practiced dropping the extra S sound. It was so damn hard, especially in the company of allies...but he kept up the guise as it was, simply safer that way should anyone overhear him. Realizing his marshmallow was about to burn..he quickly snatched it back as he blew on it, before lazily nibbling at the melted treat.

Counting how many were present...one would notice, Stryke even seemed to make everyone their own.
