This Time For Reel!
Prize Number: 91 - ACTUAL LITERAL TREASURE CHEST

Mesnei returned the next day with a smile on her face and a complaining Phelie following behind her. Her lusus was still ranting about how degrading this booth was, but thankfully Mesnei was the only one to hear about it. Normally she cared about what Phelie said, but this time, it was stupid. Phelie was being dumb! This was just a fun game. Of course it wasn't a mockery of their greatness! And besides she highly doubted fishes were actual prizes in this booth of duh course. Mesnei hummed a tune as she hobbled over toward the blueblooded booth girl, Mesnei had no idea how to do this weird landdweller sport but the nice shiny blueblood was happy to instruct. She tossed her "reel" into the water and kinda tugged it around wildly, hoping her "hook" wold grab somethin-- Oh? Wow this was heavy whoah. "I!! I got!! Something!!" Mesnei exclaimed, hand clutching at the "cast" and pulling on it to bring it up. This was a bit heavy though, she didn't get it. "It's not coming!! I want it!!" Mesnei hissed, yanking at it more firmly now, until Phelie had to step in and tug the prize upward. A chest plopped down on the dock. Mesnei's eyes gleamed. "Wha..." She stumbled over toward it, hands reaching for the chest and shoving it open, only to find a very beautiful, very large circular swirly thingy that made her eyes shine bright. "What is it?! What is it?!?" Mesnei asked eagerly, treating it like it was the most precious thing she owned-- And it might've been, really, she'd never truly won something of her own accord, and for it to be something so marvelous and wonderful, her pump biscuit was pounding.

      Captain Kursha Vidari

Well, there was a face he had not expected to see again so soon.

Keeping his distance for the time being, Kursha grinned at the sight of the blueblood running her own booth. It looked like she had recovered well enough from the brutality of the haunted mansion. He had to admire the aesthetics of her booth: cute but practical. It seemed like something that would be right up Elidae's alley. It was too bad the yellowblood had gone home with a cold. Still, maybe he could bring something back for her...

After a quick look around, he noted the fishing holes and the sign promising prizes to those who could fish them up. Bingo. The greenblood crossed the lake bed to an unoccupied spot in the dock. On his way, he passed right by the fishing poles, without so much as giving them a second glance. There were faster ways to catch a fish.

“Hey Demari!” Kursha called out, waving to the blueblood across the ice. At the sound of his voice, a few trolls looked over and bolted at light speed. The greenblood held something small and black in his hand. “You wanna see a really cool fishing trick? Check this out!”

Pulling the pin, Kursha dropped the grenade into the hole. Then he dropped a the rest in for good good measure. Since Sarcel would not let him use them, he had to find something to do with them. It only occurred to him a second too late that he should probably move.

As the the following explosion shatterd the lake, Kursha was thrown back twenty feet into the snow. His body was blackened with ash. Splinters of smouldering wood, red hot metal, and shards of ice rained down from the sky. A piece of aluminium sizzled a few inches from his spongeclot as it burned through the snow. Kursha stared up blankly at the fiery sky.

“You can bill me.”

      Kerras Farron

Kerras watched in mute horror as fire rained down on the booth. No! They were too late! They had only just discovered the cute booth, and now it was gone. The tealblood felt a tidal wave of despair crashing down on them, very much like how the tidal wave rushing towards the shore would if they stuck around for much longer. Grabbing their podling companions by the hand, Kerras turned and ran. The fire was another danger altogether though, and as shards of metal, wood, and ice came down like divine vengeance, they pushed the podlings into a nearby snowdrift.

"Oh, ******** had just wheeled up to the docks, noting it suspiciously on fire. She called for back-up.

"Code Fire. Code Fire at the goddamn docks."

She rolled away. Fire was none of Tamiya's business.

It was the last night of Bloodfest and things were slowing down. Demari watched as trolls came and go, happily accepting paper fishes to decorate and write on. She hadn't expected her booth to be as popular as Volkei's, he had the additional advertising of the wonderful smell of BBQ to flood the streets.

"It's an armillary sphere!" The blueblood beamed as a seadweller gasped over her new prize. She'd dropped by yesterday and been nice enough so Demari was happy to see her again.

"They're used to-" A familiar face approached and the blueblood gasped in surprise. She'd been visited by Lorata and Sarcel earlier and unfortunately been too busy to stop and chat. Now the last older troll she'd been hoping to see had come and she flushed happily, touched that he'd made the time to drop by and see her.

What a nice guy!

"Kursha! Oh, sorry, this is my friend!" She explained to Mesnei, realizing she was being impolite. Apologizing, she asked for just a minute to help set Kursha up with one of the fishing spots. He mentioned showing his own method and she blinked uncertain but decided to trust him. He was a hero. He was safe, right?

"Okay! Good luck!" She chirped, curious to see how it'd go. The blueblood returned to Mesnei to finish her explanation with a loud blast rippled through the air. It boomed with enough force to knock her on the ground! What?! Looking around startled, she realized things were not okay. Fire began to eat at the dock and the pergola, the wood burning quickly. No! The wishes! She couldn't let them burn! She had promised to set them out to sea! They needed to come true!

"Noooo!" Demari cried and dashed into the flames, desperate to save as many as she could. Reaching up, she ripped the papers down, cradling them to her chest. The smoke was starting to cloud her vision but she continued on, coughing.

It had taken Sinter a hot second to remember that of all of Tamiya's codes, "Code Fire," was one of the ones that actually meant something. Or at least something he was obligated to pay attention to. It took him a minute, but soon enough he was jogging down the pier, hauling a fire extinguisher.

"Pardon me; coming through; out of the way- please..." Sinter shoved his way through the crowd that was casually fleeing the scene. For as common as this sort of wanton destruction was on Alternia, one would think their facilities would be better equipped to maybe contain some of it. Something, something "character-building," Sinter internally grumbled as he reached the epicenter of the light and smoke.

A cloud of white, fire-smothering agent tore through the wreckage, coating it all in foam. Sinter stood almost casually as he layered the fire with fluffy chemicals, dampening everything.

"Please clear the area for your own safety," Sinter announced. He quickly tried to divert the spray of the extinguisher upon realizing there were still trolls near the booth. He winced slightly.

Volkei had been meaning to make it down to Demari's booth all week. He wasn't much of a fisherman but surely even he could manage to write something to put on her paper fish. He just had to find time for it somewhere in between replenishing all the food stock and keeping the grill goin-

He'd come running as soon as he'd heard the explosion.

"What happened?! Is everyone okay?" The small redblood pushed through the crowd to get a look at the booth, now in smoking tatters with charred prizes littered about. It was almost comical if it weren't so ******** sad. A sharply dressed troll was hosing the place down with a fire extinguisher and directing people to leave.

"Is she okay? Demari, are you there?!" The normally chill and relaxed Volkei was in full panic at the idea that his blueblooded friend could have gotten hurt or worse in whatever freak accident had occurred. Please, if there really was such things as mirthful messiahs, protect Demari from whatever had happene-

"Demari!" He cried out at the sight of her scrambling to yank the burning papers from their structure. He ran to her and pulled her into a fierce hug. His chest heaved with worry and sobs before slowly dying down and he just kind of stayed there wrapped around her gratefully.

Somehow, it seemed his wish had come true without even writing it down.
