If only he knew, and he certainly wouldn't be laughing with him if he knew the reason! He lightly chewed on his lip as he eyed the door to the tent, trying to cling to rational thought to keep his anxiety about small spaces in check. He wouldn't be in there for long, he wasn't going to become trapped and, even if he did, the durable material the tent was made out of wouldn't be able to keep him from tearing his way out of it if he had to. He chuckled at his joke. It helped ease his mind over the whole ordeal though. "Should I start callin' ya Mister Studly?" He'd joke back as he walked closer to the tent, taking a deep breath and slowly releasing it to calm his nerves. Ugh. Why had he volunteered for this part again? The bedroll would be placed inside the tent before he dropped down to his knees and crawled half-way in. He undid the clasps that held the roll together and spread it, pleased to find out that it came close to filling the floor of the tent and was large enough to fit both of them. He rarely used the thing and hadn't been all that sure that it would. Then again, having space to spread out probably didn't matter too much considering they usually slept intertwined together or on top of each other. He placed the pillows on the opposite end before he spread out the blanket. Virgil was quick to back out when he finished, needlessly dusting off his hands as he stood. Being inside of the small space wasn't as bad as he had thought, but he still wasn't looking forward to actually sleep inside of it. A sheepish grin formed he turned to look at Marcel after he took the time to zip the tent's opening shut. Last thing he wanted was to discover a wild animal dozing in their spot when they went to bed later. "This creek feeds into ah small pond ah couple of miles from 'ere. " His grin became a bit more wolfish. "We could go skinny dippin' at some point." He was mostly joking. Given to how the other had reacted to the idea of bathing in a creek, he doubted he would want to go swimming. Which brought him no end of amusement since the Hispanic took to a duck to water when it came to the ocean, a place that had a ******** ton more dangerous creatures living in it than a body of fresh water. Reaching up, he loosened the collar around his neck so it wouldn't end up strangling when he shifted forms later.

Marcel couldn't help but grin at Virgil and nodded his head with an amused look on his face as he threw a wink at Virgil "You can call me that, but I can think of a few more words that would better describe me" he stated in a semi suggestive tone as a Cheshire grin grew even more on his face. Despite his playful attitude he did take notice of how Virgil seemed a bit apprehensive about entering the tent and he was just trying to keep the other man distracted. Marcel had tried to get a tent that was at the very least tall enough for the two of them but any larger and it would have costed an arm and a leg to buy and despite how well off they both were, he doubted either of them wanted to spend any more on a tent. Marcel made sure to keep his gaze directly on Virgil's rump the entire time he was working on getting their sleeping arrangements all set up, he even let out a low whistle just so the other could hear. Sadly the show did end eventually and he would listen to Virgil explain how the creek went to a small pond. The idea intrigued Marcel until he mentioned skinny dipping which had the Hispanic cringing at the mere thought of it. But then he took a deep breath and shook his head at the other "That would only happen if I got beyond dirty or something, so nice try there" he challenged the other man with an amused look on his face. Marcel was not exactly the type of man to let himself get too messy for no reason so he would be fine for the most part. A little bit of sweat dried off eventually after all so no big deal there. He would then walk up to Virgil and looked around a bit "You wanna go for a little run through the trees? Stretch the legs?" Marcel did have to admit that he has been slacking on what was his usual exercises and he could already begin to feel his body becoming lethargic as a result. Soon enough a gut would begin to form if he didn't start again and he would sooner die than have Virgil say that his gut was cute or something degrading like that. The Hispanic wanted no part of himself to be squishy, he was not going to end up like those military men who gain two hundred pounds and call themselves vets.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Virgil laughed when the offer of going for a dip was shot down. It hardly surprised him. "Maybe I'll have t'push ya in some mud or somethin' then." He teased softly. As if. He was brave as the next person, but maybe not so brave enough to actually carry through with shoving Marcel into mud or anything else. Doing something like that seemed like a sure fire way to get his a** beaten into the ground and he'd rather avoid their first fight starting over something so childish as that. His gaze drifted to their surroundings at the mention of going for a run before they returned to the shorter man. "Aye. If ya can keep up, pops." Messing with him was just too damn fun. Last time, he hadn't pushed himself as hard as he usually did, but this time he wasn't going to let his concern for his companion get in his way. He would try to keep it from doing so, anyway. Remembering his suggestion on the way out here, he pulled off his t-shirt to start the process of getting undressed while he turned to walk over to his truck. He dropped his shirt over into the back before he removed the rest of his clothing and tossed them over the side as well. Unabashedly naked, he placed his hands on his hips and glanced back over a shoulder at Marcel with a smirk. Might as well give him a few seconds to enjoy the view since he'd seemed to have appreciated the one from earlier. "If we get separated...howl or somethin'. I'll come find ya." Something he didn't think would happen, but it was better to have some sort of plan just in case it did since he had no idea how well Marcel could navigate out in the wilderness on his own. "An' no peekin'!" With that reminder, he moved to the front of the truck out of hope it would provide him with the cover he desired. Oddly enough, he felt guilty for feeling apprehensive about shifting in front of him but he was doing it to spare him of the nightmarish sight of his body morphing into something else. Closing his eyes, he sighed and willed the change to take him. He didn't question it or become alarmed when it took a little longer him to fully form into a wolf even though it probably should have sparked some concern in him. But it wasn't the first time it happened and he doubted it would be the last. Now wasn't the time to think about the health implications behind how he abused his body. The brute stretched his wolven body after he was finished with the painful ordeal, several joints popping as he did. Willing those stiff muscles to move, he approached Marcel and promptly sat at his feet. Growing all that fur always made him itch for a few minutes afterward. Virgil ignored it more often than not in favor of getting a move on, but he realized he didn't really have to deal with it all the time anymore. Hopefully. Whining, he incessantly nudged at his hand in an effort to get him to scratch him.

Marcel grinned and gave the other man a challenging smirk with a look in his eyes that said "I dare you to try". If he did get pushed into the mud by the other man he would be very livid but at the same time slightly amused by it. He wouldn't have thought Virgil had it in him but he also knew that Virgil obviously knew better than to invoke the Hispanic's wrath upon himself. Either way Marcel knew that he would be safe from such a move and as long as he did well to keep himself clear of anything too bad he'd be alright. Marcel would then let out a bark of laughter when Virgil called him pops, the ******** nerve of the guy! "How old are you again Gramps?" he bit back with his own sarcastic reply. How dare he of all people tease his age! The grin on his face however would show that he was simply pouting a bit at this point over the playful insult. However all would be forgotten as soon as Virgil began stripping out of his clothes and the Hispanic grew a coy smile on his face as he most certainly enjoyed the sight of the man standing there in all his glory "You know I can think of a couple better exercises than just running all of a sudden" he not so subtly suggested as the Hispanic licked his upper lip just to add emphasis. However it was not meant to be as he simply rolled his eyes at Virgil's comment "Howl? Seriously? How about I just call your name" honestly now, did Marcel look like a hairy beast...well. Certain area's not withstanding but that's not the point! However he would blink a bit in surprise when Virgil told him to not peek at him when he transformed, why not? He knew that it probably wasn't a pretty sight but Marcel had seen things that were probably ten times worse than someone becoming a Wolf. But he would nod his head and honored the other's wish to not be seen transforming, he didn't understand it but if he felt self conscious for some reason then he wouldn't push it. Once the familiar black wolf came up to him he grinned a small bit and stared down at the large beast. However before he could even come out with a smartass remark about being so well trained the other began to nudge his hand while whining. It took him a few moments to realize what he wanted before chuckling a bit his his lover. Marcel would get down on one knee and begin to scratch behind the wolves ears before then going down his neck and body then back up again just to give more ear rubs "You are so ******** needy, you know that right Querido?" he grinned a small bit as he took the Werewolves ears in between his hands and gave them a good rub down. It was already so easy to forget that this was his lover right before him now and not just the best dog in the whole world "Just choose when you want me to stop so we can go!" he just wanted to see how long Virgil would sit here letting him rub and scratch him like the king of wolves.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Who knew such a little nickname would stir such a reaction out of Marcel. Being called gramps hardly bothered him and he was still amused by even now as Virgil waited for him to give in and touch that sinfully soft fur of his! Though he didn't have to continue to beg for touches much longer. His eyes closed as soon as Marcel began to rub his ears and a low groan started to come from him as those talented fingers moved further down his body. Virgil scoffed at him. Hmph. He wasn't needy! He was simply taking advantage of a situation while he had a chance to, that was all! An eyelid slit open to look at the Hispanic although the pale gold rolled back as his ears were assaulted again, his expression sinking into one of drugged out bliss. Being scratched and rubbed all over was great, but those sensitive ears of his were his favorite spot to be touched. He could spend several hours greedily soaking up the attention, but he knew he couldn't. After a couple of minutes, he forced his eyes to open and leaned his head forward to nuzzle underneath Marcel's chin as a way to say thanks. Being scratched and rubbed a nice way get invigorated for a run! Though, if he were being honest with himself, all he really wanted to do was curl up in a patch of sunshine with Marcel for a while. Grunting, he stood up and moved away from him. He ended up stretched again, chest down to the ground with his fluffy butt up in the air as he struck and held the pose so famously named after canines. He glanced to him as he did, remembering his comment about exercise as it replayed in his head. Making such provocations while licking his lip like that. Gods above. Luckily, his shower that morning helped him keep a cool head or else he might have given in to the temptation to change in front of him and dragged him off to break in their new tent. But he could think of some ideas as well, innocent ones! The wolf chuffed in amusement at the humorous thought of the other man doing yoga. He had no idea how yoga worked exactly, but kind of seemed like it might help them both. It could wait for another day though. He straightened and shook himself off before lifted his head back a let out a short, quiet howl as if to prove a point to him about the whole issue of communication. Well, he didn't really mind what chose to do if they lost one another. He took off at a trot, deciding to follow the creek for now. Might as well go check out the pond even if they wouldn't be swimming in it.

Marcel grinned down at the Werewolf as he continued his assault on Virgil's ears and head. It was pretty much exactly like a dog at this point, no doubt he had the best of both worlds with Virgil. A loving boyfriend and the goodest of boys when he transformed into his Wolf form "Who's a good boy Virgil? Yous a good boy!" he made sure to tease the other man with a look of utter delight on his face as he took both ears in his hands and rubbed them some more. Eventually however Virgil would finally put an end to the ear rubs eventually by nuzzling under his chin and pulling away from the Hispanic and his magical ear rubs. Marcel would watch the Wolf stretch out in front of him with a small chuckle leaving his mouth as Virgil held a pose for a few seconds, you'd think was trying to say something. Finally however eventually the Wolf would begin to trot down the creek to the pond he was talking about earlier. Marcel would remain in perfect step with Virgil as they walked together next to the creek. Marcel would quietly look around and smiled a little bit at everything around them "I'm always so cooped up in my apartment with movies, easy to forget how nice the outdoors actually is..." of course he didn't need to tell Virgil that. Before meeting the other man would sleep outside all the time from what he understood about the Werewolf beside him. Slowly Marcel's hand began to search for something to grab onto, originally he was looking for Virgil's hand to grab but he then remembered the form he was currently in so that was a no go. It was funny how he barely even noticed that Virgil was not in his human form right now, he was already so accustomed to the other man's simple presence and the Wolf didn't change that at all. Instead then he would rest his hand on top of the Wolf's back as he gently kneaded the fur under his fingers. He would then simply listen to everything he could at this moment, the birds chirping, the leaves rustling in the wind, the sound of some deer prancing away in the distance, and the creek flowing downward the whole time. Marcel wasn't usually such a nature freak but with Virgil... "Ya know...I wouldn't mind this becoming a bit more of a regular thing...it's actually really nice to get away from it all..." he never quite saw nature as this amazing thing that people always gushed about but now he was seeing that he had never actually given it a fair chance. His bad experiences with nature during his time in the Military made him blind to the fact that when there wasn't any fighting or gunfire a forest really could be beautiful. Finally once the pond came into view Marcel's would blink in surprise at the sight, it was like something that you'd see in a movie. Crystal clear water with trees all around it, completely untouched by man "I always pictured ponds to be slimy with green water and s**t like that, you know?" if it looked like this...well...he rubbed the back of his neck "Maybe a five minute dip to wash the sweat off wouldn't be so bad..." honestly his common sense told him that there wasn't any hillbillies to watch them, horror movies simply made him all kinds of paranoid. Besides they were under more threat at the public beach if their last encounter there said anything.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Being baby talked to and treated like a pet by anyone else would've made the lycan feel seriously degraded. With Marcel, no such negative emotions stirred in him. Even if he had, seeing the delight on his face would have soothed any bad feelings. Virgil blinked up to him before he gave a small nod of his head. He didn't keep himself cooped up indoors, but he could understand in some small way. After all, he had spent the last year of his life stuck against his will inside of some room. The hospital hadn't really imprisoned him as the crime syndicate had, but being unable to leave had still made him feel trapped. Though he hadn't truly forgotten how beautiful nature was, it had managed to take his breath away once he'd managed to get away from civilization. It still did whenever he stumbled across an area that was particularly beautiful than most. He moved a bit closer to him as his hand dropped down to pet him, but not so close that he would impede Marcel's footsteps. The touch was distracting, but he managed to keep himself alert as he always did for signs of danger as they walked. His tail quickly wagged from side to side when it was suggested they could do this more in the future since he couldn't verbally agree with his idea. Or express how happy he was that Marcel was enjoying himself so far. As they got closer to the pond, he stopped to admire the view. It was beautiful, yes, but he thought the sight of it at night was more so. The opinion largely had to do with how bright the sunlight reflecting off of the water was. Moonlight wasn't as hard on the eyes to admire. A loud snort came from him as he explained his first impression of a pond. Ya need t'get out more. He thought to himself since the whole talking thing was null and void now. Those fetid and nasty bodies of water certainly existed, but this one had managed to remain pristine as ever. As if he would show him something as gross as slimy pollution pond though! Those places always depressed him in a way, especially when he knew the causes weren't natural. Virgil parted his maw a bit in a lupine grin as it seemed his partner might be changing his mind about the whole swimming thing. It would be better than smellin' ah sweaty human all night! Not that it was an entirely off-putting smell to him, it was only out of the habit of messing with Marcel that had him thinking out. He backed away just before he leaped at him as if he was planning to knock him into the water, but he didn't come close to actually touching him. He twisted his body around at the last second and land back on his paws, prancing off with his tail proudly raised and his head held high. Soon enough, his stride lengthed as he shifted into a canter to warm up before he actually began to run in earnest.

Marcel stared at the pond in careful consideration and how he had been so adamant about not swimming on one before. Honestly he should have known better and trusted Virgil's judgement more so than before, now he felt like he'd have to swallow his own words for how he teased the other. Either way he could admit when he was wrong, he was man enough. Didn't mean he liked it though. Nonetheless Marcel would blink down at at the wolf as he backed away a couple steps "Virgil?" however his eyes widened when he saw the Werewolf lead directly at him, causing the Hispanic to take a step back and raise an arm as if to shield himself from the incoming pounce. However his eyes caught Virgil just manage to twist around him at the last second before prancing away looking as proud as ever. Marcel fixed a glare at Virgil, that ********! He actually thought Virgil was gonna go though on his threat! "You b*****d! Get back here!" as he at first jogged after the Werewolf before then having to go into a full on sprint to keep pace with him. He wasn't nearly as fast as a Wolf running at full speed but Marcel was doing a good job keeping pace with Virgil by being a good several feet behind him. An amused grin found it's way onto his face as he ran, the ******** had to have done all that on purpose just to freak the Hispanic out! And sadly it worked to, he thought that he'd be running stark naked while his clothes dried out or simply ran with wet clothes but that would have been even more difficult. Either way Marcel was beginning to lag just a bit behind but he didn't call out or anything, it was actually nice to see Virgil be able to cut lose and run to his hearts content in his Wolf form. He was really an amazing looking beast to say the least.

Go back to him? Hell no! Virgil had no desire to find out what Marcel would do to him if he got his hand on him. It was in his best interest to keep moving as he was. The light grew dimmer as they headed deeper into the forest, dappled sunlight barely breaching through thick foliage overhead. Out of nowhere, anxiety began to creep through him. The experience of someone running behind him last one wasn't a pleasant one. It hadn't occurred to him this could happen, that his mind would try to trick him into believing he was being hunted again. It was dumb, he argued with himself, the circumstances were entirely different. No other captives struggling to run with him, no calls of sadistic joy behind them as their hunters pursued them. It's Marcel. He'd rationalize against the misplaced fear and anger building in him, the latter urging him to stand and fight than flee. Virgil growled as he pushed himself harder until running and not crashing into anything was all he could focus on. He slowed down after a while, muscles filled with the weirdly comforting burn of exertion. An ear drifted off to the side as he continued to walk, listening out for Marcel. Any noises he did hear were pretty distant, but he didn't know if any of them belonged to his human or not. His tongue hung out of the side of his mouth while he panted although he wasn't entirely out of breath yet. But it was probably a good idea to turn back and find the Hispanic, go back to camp or something. So he did exactly that only to end up stopping when something caught his attention. His brows knitted together as he studied the stone well, wondering why in hell there one all the way here in the middle of nowhere. This was like something out of one of those horror movies Marcel seemed to like. And just like some idiot from one of those films, he went to explore it. The around it, anyway, because he wouldn't touch the well with a hundred foot pole. There had to be some explanation for it being there. Moving around a massive tree, he soon found out a possible reason. Virgil cocked his head to the side at the sight of the tree which had grown through one side of a house, which was still mostly intact despite the damage. Old, too, or at least what he could tell from the out-dated architecture though he didn't know exactly how old. Then again, there was the water well so it probably pre-dated indoor plumbing. It was eerily beautiful in the way abandoned places being reclaimed by nature often were. Curiosity kept him exploring the outside of it, mostly to look for a hole big enough he could crawl through to get inside. Being a werewolf had long since robbed him of common sense in avoiding safety hazards such as old, partially missing buildings on the verge of collapse.

The run the two of them were on was pretty nice for the most part, besides his surprise when the left the pond to go running deep into the woods which in and of itself wasn't an issue. He was more than comfortable with a nice run among the tree's, granted things did get tricky at times as he had to occasionally jump over large rocks and what not but other than that it was really good run. However concern began to spark though as he noticed that either he was getting slower or Virgil was speeding up. Dammit all he tried but eventually once Virgil was very far he spoke out "H..Hey! Virgil! Wait up!" the other either didn't hear him or wasn't listening at this moment. What the hell was going on? He didn't think that he was actually going to hurt him? All Marcel wanted to do was tease the Werewolf and rub his ears a bit more! Eventually the Hispanic had to come to a complete stop to catch his breath and get his second wind. He was a part of the Swim Team, not Track and Field! While he certainly was good at running, it wasn't something he was flawless at. As an occasional smoker without any regenerative abilities he did have a lower endurance, how he was able to hold his breath for as long as he could was a mystery even to him. He liked to attribute it to the fact that he only smoked on rare occasions. But now he was in quite a predicament, Virgil was nowhere in sight and he had no clue where they had come from. He could try to retrace their steps but with all the foliage and what not covering the ground, reading tracks would be difficult. Marcel wasn't too worried though, it was still rather early in the morning and checking his phone he would see it wasn't even twelve in the afternoon yet. He had plenty of time to find Virgil and worse came to worse he could just climb a tree and find that pond and gauge himself from there. But right now he was more worried about finding Virgil at this moment, that wasn't like him to just do something like that. He was worried "Virgil! Hey Virgil!!" he shouted at the top of his lungs once he caught his breath but there was no response. Had Virgil actually gone that far? Marcel would begin a brisk jog, nowhere near the pace he had previously but enough to where he was covering decent ground "Virgil this is not funny! I'm serious now! Come on out!" when there was still no response, howl, bark, yip, or anything fear began to grip the Hispanic. Had Virgil ditched him?

Suddenly dark thoughts entered his mind that he thought he was finally done with 'He ditched you out here in the middle of the woods! He's just trying to get rid of you, take the hint!' the voices in his head mocked the Hispanic cruelly as he became more and more frantic in his search for the Werewolf...no..for his partner "Virgil please! It's over Please Querido just..do anything! Pathetic" Marcel wasn't really sure how long he was calling out to the wolf but by now he was damn near on the brink of tears. The voices in his mind were dominant now and any reasoning that was there was being drowned out. His voice was just starting to become hoarse and he simply leaned against a tree and covered his ears for a moment to try and block out the voices to no avail. Finally he stepped away, preparing to try and find his way back to camp when in the distance something caught his eye, something out of place considering this area. He would slowly approach to investigate what it was, only to find an old well. Suddenly the voices in his mind hushed as he slowly calmed himself before a spark of hope flared in his chest. Paw prints, big ones to. They had to Virgil's! With a small glance into the well all he could see was blackness despite the sunshine of day. It gave him the chills. Marcel would then see the paw prints go up to what he now saw was an old building and everything in Marcel's being screamed at him to turn around. But he didn't, Virgil was there...he had to be "Virgil!...Querido! Please howl of something! Let me know you're alright...that you're still here with me!" he called out to the house as he slowly approached the building, worry and previous fears returning full force.

Virgil found an opening that looked as if it had once been a window. With little thought toward the dangers that could await him, he jumped through it to the other side. The floorboards caved in instantly as his weight landed, earning a startled yelp from him as he fell through the floor. He laid there groaning for a moment as he gathered his bearings. Whelp, this had to be one of the dumbest ideas he had had in a while. At least he wasn't hurt, hadn't been speared by a piece of broken wood or anything nasty like that. The male pushed himself up with a grunt, wincing as pain shot through his back left paw. Nevermind not being hurt then, damn it. He wiggled his toes, confirming for himself that he hadn't broken anything. Sprained or twisted then but he wasn't very concerned about the injury. If it wasn't better by the time he walked back to camp then the accelerated healing caused by the transformation would take care of it. He sneezed at the cloud of dust hanging in the air as he tried to get a grasp of his surroundings. Thankfully, he hadn't fallen too far and was about head level with the floor so, hopefully, he wouldn't have too hard of a time getting back out. What if you can't? A recent fear of getting trapped whispered to taint his motivation. Virgil quickly shook his head to deny it while he tried to keep his rising panic down. The fearful thought was nonsense, he would tear this place apart board by board to get out if he had to! Huffing in stubborn determination and refusing to let his self-loathing conscience beat him down, he put his forepaws on the floor in preparation to climb out of the hole he'd made only to quickly jerk back when the whole house groaned. Son of a b***h. How was he going to get out? There were several feet of floor between him and the opening he'd entered through, and he didn't know if he could jump the distance without a running start. If he could even do that with a bum paw. A whine left the wolf as he sat down with his shoulders hunched. This sucked. Pale golds scanned the room he was in again, freezing on a sight he'd missed before. The remaining half of a broken porcelain doll stared right back at him from its spot underneath a decaying dresser a few feet from him. Oh god. Virgil hated dolls. Had been convinced the one Vivian had when they were children was always plotting his death and it was an irrational fear he'd never outgrown. He whined louder and longer this time as he contemplated his s**t luck.

The pity party didn't last long, however, ending as soon as he heard a familiar and cherished voice. Marcel! His ears perked up as he listened to him call out, finding his choice of words a bit odd although a part of him chalked it up to him messing around and being dramatic. Virgil let out a loud bark, deep and fierce as a hell hound's as it was despite the fact he felt nothing but joy at the moment. Afraid Marcel might not have heard him, he tossed back his and put every ounce of energy he had into howling for a few seconds. Don't leave! He mentally begged as he looked around, his motivation to get the hell out of there once again renewed. His eyes widened a bit as an idea came to him and he dropped down onto his stomach to peer around the darkness to find a shaft of light coming through a hole in the foundation. He belly-crawled toward it, moving as fast as he was able to in the tight space. His head soon popped through the hole to find the Hispanic not too far away from where he was. His happy grin vanished though as he noticed how distressed the other seemed to be. Whimpering in concern, he squirmed in an attempt to push himself further out. This might be the only time his claustrophobia benefited him, the fear adding to his determination to get free. Rotten wood cracked and fell away as the opening widened around him and allowed him a bit more space to maneuver. But at least the tight space should help scrape off all the cobwebs and dust he'd accumulated! The big brute ended up stopping once his shoulders were free, needing to rest the aggravated paw injury before it started to hurt even more. Pale gaze fixated on Marcel as he heaved a sigh, giving him an apologetic look.

Panic gripped Marcel as he still hadn't gotten any responses yet and he became more and more paranoid that the voices were being honest. That Virgil had left him completely alone out here, ditched him. However a deep bark had Marcel's head looking directly at the destroyed house as suddenly he felt hopeful that it was actually Virgil. Suddenly the howl all but confirmed it for the Hispanic as he began to make his way to the house to see a wolf's head poke out through the foundation of the building. A small smile of relief grew on his face at the sight as he all but ran up to the wolf who had stopped about half way. He would drop to his knees in front of the wolf and placed a hand on top of the others head "...What have you gotten yourself into?" he'd question as relief was etched into his face. Marcel would look down for a moment and reached towards the foundation as he began to peel away some of the splintering wood back so Virgil could have an easier time getting through. Just to help the Werewolf along Marcel would grab the large wolf by his two front paws "I'm going to pull out out, OK? Just work with me here" he would begin to tug on the Werewolf and would inch him forward bit by bit. He didn't want to hurt Virgil by just pulling him backwards all at once and instead chose to take the slow and smart approach to it. Clearly something Virgil didn't do getting himself in this kind of situation. But he didn't care, the fact that Virgil hadn't purposely ditched him like that was all the Hispanic needed to know. He didn't know why he allowed himself to become so panicked over it, had he somehow developed an abandonment issue or something when his wife cheated on him? Marcel was beginning to feel like the answer was yes, besides of all times for Virgil to try and ditch him, now? When the others truck and all his belongings were left behind? Marcel could have found his way back there easily enough. Now he just felt downright foolish for his panic earlier. With one final pull with the Wolf would be free and Marcel enveloped Virgil in a hug, never minding all the dust, dirt, and god knows what else that was clinging to the wolf's fur. He held Virgil for a moment, even if he felt foolish over it he was still relieved nonetheless "You ran so fast and so far ahead without stopping, even when I called out to you..." he pulled back so the Hispanic could look into those golden eyes "...Gonna sound so idiotic of me but..I thought that you'd abandoned me out here..." no doubt Virgil heard him if he had barked and howled and he knew how desperate he had sounded. Marcel might as well clear up why he was acting that way.

Virgil huffed at his question. He had gotten himself into a house, clearly! And he felt quite foolish for it too. He'd gone inside out of an old habit to look for loot and all he'd found was jack. Aside from the doll's head, but he wasn't going to think about it. Too creepy and being somewhat stuck as he was wasn't the time to start thinking of dolls creeping up from behind to stab him. He grunted a bit as his front legs were grabbed and pulled, using his back legs to push whenever the other man would tug. Apparently, he was only the brawn of their duo and Marcel had all the brains. His tail took to wagging happily once he was free of his prison, the brute resting his head on his shoulder and pressing himself into his body as his arms wrapped around him since he couldn't return the hug. A wave of guilt hit him as he began to talk. He had called out to him the first time? And he had gotten so wrapped up in his own bullshit that he hadn't even heard him. It stung although his confession stung a lot more. Still, he couldn't blame him for thinking it. They hadn't been around each other long enough to truly learn the depths of each other's personalities and character, and he hadn't exactly painted himself in the best light. Almost made it a point not to. Virgil growled softly and shook his head, trying to tell him he would never abandon him. Aside from death, there was nothing that could remove him from him aside from the veteran himself. If he told him to get lost, he would though it wouldn't be as simple as disappearing into the night. As deeply as he felt for him, he knew he would want to keep in contact with him in some way if the romance between them ever died. He pulled away from Marcel and stood, limping somewhat as he moved over to a tree. He shook himself as hard as he could before he dragged the length of his body against the tree's trunk. The motion was repeated on his other side, the wolf attempting to get as much of the grim off of his fur as he could. To say he didn't regret his little adventure would be a lie. While he wasn't a neat freak, having dirty fur was an unpleasant experience.

Marcel simply sat there holding Virgil close as he sighed a small bit and shook his head at himself. The more he thought about it, the more Marcel felt like an idiot for letting the voices in his head get the better of his common sense, it wouldn't happen again. That's what he was telling himself for right now at least "I guess this says something about me though...I'm just a man riddled with insecurity..." it was sobering in a way. He had never thought of himself as insecure, he was a man who fought things that would have had most people crying in the fetal position, seen things that no person should see. Yet despite all his bravado, the thought of Virgil leaving him had the Hispanic on the brink of tears. He knew that his heart couldn't handle it, to have it broken a second time by someone he'd die for. Maybe that was why he caved so easily to the dark thoughts, the idea that Virgil didn't consider him good enough, not worth being around, that he'd grow tired of the Hispanic. That's what the Hispanic feared most. But now that Virgil was back in his arms a small part of him was laughing and mocking the dark thoughts, he knew that next time something like this would happen Marcel wouldn't panic like he just did. And if the growling from Virgil accompanied by the Wolf shaking his head was anything to go by, the man he loved wasn't going anywhere "I'm sorry Virgil, I doubted you. It won't happen again, promise" and he meant it. If there ever came a time where Marcel would doubt Virgil he would push those thoughts away in an instant, this man wouldn't do something like that. Marcel would then blink when he saw the Werewolf limp over to a tree and the Veteran stood up and followed after him, just to make sure everything was alright. However Marcel simply chuckled a bit as the Werewolf began to rub himself against a tree after shaking "Ah feeling a bit nasty?" he would crouch down once he was done with the tree "Let me help, a tree can only be so thorough" the former soldier would begin to run his hands through Virgil's fur to assist in cleaning out all the nasty dust and grime. He would interchange between quickly rubbing certain spots that were worse than others and long but quick stokes down the length of his body, trying to get at anything that might be under the Wolf's coat of fur just in case.

Virgil could only look at him as he heard him stating he was insecure. Maybe. Although it was another thing he couldn't blame him for after what had happened with his ex-wife. Instead, he thought it was a small miracle Marcel was willing to take a chance on a relationship with him after being betrayed by her. They hadn't talked about his past love life, but there was a small reason why he didn't try to defend himself when he'd called him a slut. He was one, more or less. Used to be, rather. Now he had the feisty Hispanic in his life, he doubted anyone else could ever satisfy him. The wolf shook his head again at his apology, feeling it wasn't needed. He would just need to continue to prove his worth to his younger lover, that was all. He had done a lot of terrible things in the past and could be a major a*****e at times, but he had honesty and loyalty going for him. At least, he thought so. He'd whine a bit to his question. Oh, he had no idea! His fur was thick enough it prevented most of the grime from penetrating through to his skin though in the places where it matted his fur together caused it to pull on his skin. Needless to say, it was unpleasant all together. Once he was down near his level, he touched his nose to his cheek in a show of appreciation for the help. The last thing Virgil wanted was this stuff sticking to his skin and hair when he shifted back into a human. He could wash off in the creek, of course, but the whole ordeal of getting clean again was a pain in the a**. Mostly because all he wanted to do was bask in Marcel's attention, the greedy thing. Other than slightly squirming on occasion whenever his fingers passed over a particularly sensitive spot on his body, he held pretty still while he was being groomed. His gaze drifted back over to the old house as he waited. One would think he had learned his lesson, but he still felt a small desire to go back in and see what other secrets the place held. Some other time, maybe. For now, he was willing to ignore the drive for exploration. A sigh of contentment left him as turned his head to glance back over himself, finding his fur a lot cleaner than it was before Marcel. Chuffing loudly, another gentle cheek bump was given with his nose. Virgil took a few careful foot steps back in the direction of their camp and tilted his head as he looked to Marcel, asking if he was ready to go. He wouldn't mind if he still wanted to do some more walking when they got back, but he wanted something to drink first. Strange how running from one's imagination could work up a thirst. This time though, he planned to keep pace with Marcel to avoid any unpleasant repeats and would probably be a while before he did have the confidence to run ahead again. For both their sakes.
