(OOC: Sorry about the delay in posts, started a new job and it's been keeping me busy)

Marcel made sure to get as much of the nasty dirt and grime off as best as he could with just his hands. Thankfully enough the really obvious spots seemed to be the worst of it for the most part while the rest seemed to rest mostly on the surface. Marcel would clap his hands together a couple times in between his grooming to clean his hands as best he could, he didn't know what this stuff was and he sure as hell didn't want any of it on him any longer than needed. He smiled a bit as Virgil bumped his nose against the Hispanic's cheek, the gesture was cute and he was pretty sure that was a thank you. At least he'd say it was. Once everything was done and the wolf was mostly cleaned Marcel would nod his head in approval at his handiwork, a pretty good job if you asked him. Not perfect but it would do. Marcel would then watch as Virgil slowly began to walk back in a direction that he could only assume was their camp and the way Virgil looked in his direction seemed to further cement that "Alright Virgil, let's go" that building gave him the creeps anyway. His overly superstitious Mamá would have his head if she knew he even went near a building like this. Normally he brushed her fears and worries off as nothing more than silly superstition and ghost stories that were told to little kids to get them to behave but now he would admit that there might have been some merit to his Mother's words whether she knew it or not. But even then he wasn't all too worried about that kind of stuff, maybe some things still had him skeptical but those sorts of things just didn't freak him out nearly as badly as it probably should. But before leaving Marcel would approach the window of the building to peer in, finding the hole in the floor that Virgil mad and rolling his eyes a bit. However the Hispanic did grin a bit at a broken porcelain doll sitting up against an old dresser, decaying dresser "Hey Virgil, at least you weren't lonely! You had that doll sitting there to keep you company!" he would laugh a bit in amusement before strolling off to the Werewolf before taking a spot next to the wolf as he began a nice stroll in the direction of their camp, simply enjoying the sight of the forest. Now that he wasn't a panicking mess he could really appreciate how pretty the place was, how the sunlight would peak through the leaves of the tree's and how the foliage underneath bloomed and grew. It really was a nice place and despite their earlier little running incident he was genuinely happy that they came here.

Oh, shut up! Virgil barked at him for the reminder of the damned doll, his fur fluffing out for a few seconds as he shivered. He could still picture its remaining eye staring at him. Before he wouldn't have minded if Marcel wanted to do some exploring of his own but now he definitely ready to get out of the area than he was before! With their ill luck, an army of those dolls might come crawling out of the creepy a** well, it was time to get! As they began to stroll back toward their campsite, he would glance back toward the house and well until they were both out of his line of sight. It seemed like lurking around abandoned houses with dolls would be a good setting for a horror movie and he had no intention to let it become real. He knew he was letting his paranoia and his imagination get the better of him, but he didn't care. Every now and then Virgil would pick up his pace to move ahead of him to investigate the area though he would always wait for him to catch up before he carried onward. He was tracing their tracks, places where the grass had been pressed down by both of them. A broken sapling from when he'd barreled over it during his mad run. He was far from being lost, but he figured there was no reason why he shouldn't take the time to hone his tracking skills. In his experience, knowledge that wasn't often put to use was forgotten or at least became faded and difficult to recall. The older male prided himself on his observance and ability to track and it might be the one thing he never wanted to lose. His pace picked up a little as the surrounding trees thinned out into a slightly more opened area as they got closer to the pond. He found it somewhat strange how the beauty of the forest could change with just a few short miles. Deeper in held an eery air to him, but this location felt quite serene to the big wolf. Not having any old abandoned houses helped the appeal, certainly. Pale golds cut up to Marcel as he bumped against him before he trotted toward the pond. His maw parted with a lazy yawn as he slowed upon reaching the water's edge and dropped his head down to drink. Nothing was quite as refreshing as cool, fresh water that had escaped being touched by mankind. So good, in fact, Virgil stood there lapping at the pond's surface for nearly a solid minute until his thirst was quenched.

( No worries. Enjoy the new job. :3 )

Marcel couldn't help but grin at the Wolf's reaction when he barked at him over his little comment, he must have liked the little doll quite a bit! Well this was an amusing tidbit of info, maybe he would get the man a nice little dolly for him just as a joke gift or something. Heck he might even get one that looked a bit similar to it, finding a doll that looked like that one couldn't possibly be that hard. As they walked though he would smirk a bit as Virgil would skulk on ahead a bit, seemingly looking around and watching their surroundings. Honestly Marcel wasn't too worried about any animals or even people for that matter, Virgil was a big strong Werewolf and Marcel was a trained soldier, what did they have to fear? Nonetheless he thought it was cute how Virgil would go with his baser instincts and constantly check their surroundings. Maybe he did do it in his human form, it was hard to tell since he never paid much attention but still even then he still found it amusing to say the least. As he followed after the wolf he noticed how Virgil was following their earlier tracks, impressive to say the least "I remember how we had to learn that stuff, never actually used it though" usually the enemy would be shooting at them before any legitimate tracking could be made. Honestly he'd forgotten most of it as it was simply completely irrelevant information to him, although for Virgil he could see how it was useful to him in different applications of how he lived before their meeting. Finally when they made their way back to the pond Marcel couldn't help but laugh a bit as Virgil seemed to go to town on the pond water "You're a thirsty boy, yes you are!" he cooed a little bit, rubbing the wolf's head with an amused look playing at his features. Once Virgil was done drinking Marcel wouldn't stop his incessant cooing and teasing "Who's a good boy? Yous a good boy!" the more he went on, the more he grew a s**t eating grin by the second. He knew that he could get away with it so he would continue on for a few more seconds before finally stopping. The Hispanic would then nod his head up the pond and towards their camp "C'mon Querido, let's go, I need a drink myself...and I'm not drinking any pond water" the Hispanic made sure to add that last little bit, there was no way in hell he'd ever drink untreated water ever again if he had the choice. He'd done it enough when deployed and rations were low, he'd not do it again unless he had no choice.

Water dripped from his muzzled as he picked up his head to look at Marcel as if he'd lost his mind. If he didn't know any better, Virgil would believe he thought he was nothing more than a dog or something with all the baby talk! Huffing softly, he playfully nipped at his fingers and walked away to lead the way back to camp. Given how the Hispanic had confessed a short while ago that he didn't bother with tracking, he wasn't going to leave it to him to get them back even if it wasn't far away from the pond. He kept an easy pace as they walked although the wolf would end up ditching him again, sprinting off for the front of his truck as they got to the area they staying. Within a minute, Virgil would step out from behind the barrier in his human form once more. He stopped by the passenger side to grab a small bottle of hand sanitizer from the glove box before moved toward the back, squirting a little of the gel onto his hands and rubbing them together. It would be set down on the tailgate in case the other man wanted to use it. "I didn't mean t'leave ya behind earlier..." He began once he was close enough while he tugged his boxer briefs and jeans back on. Marcel appeared to be feeling better now, but he still felt the need to clarify the point. Not that he knew why. His cigarette case and lighter were taken out before he settled down on the tailgate."Havin'...havin' runnin' behind me like that had me rememberin'... He busied himself with lighting one after removing it, thinking as he let the toxic air fill his lungs. "Some bad s**t..." He eventually murmured around the end of his cancer stick after a half minute or so, shrugging a shoulder. It wasn't that he couldn't remember the specific details. He could, but going into detail was more than he had the energy to do. Strange how talking could take up so much of one's energy. Realizing he was absentmindedly rubbing his chest over the arrow, he quickly moved his hand away and snatched up his t-shirt.

The moment his fingers were nipped at the Hispanic would mock agony and pain as he shook his head "You bit me! You abusive monster! I cannot believe you Virgil!" he would shake his head dramatically and heaved an over the top sigh "Sin embargo, sólo lo estoy tomando como una perra" he spoke in an exasperated tone, although the smirk playing at his lips would give away his amusement. Marcel was happy that he learnt to rebound from bad moments easily enough, maybe call it a coping mechanism if you would. If he didn't then the Hispanic probably would have gone mad and ended it all a long time ago. Eventually as they neared the camp Virgil would dash off once again ahead of him but this time he wouldn't panic or make any move to try and keep up, he had a feeling why he did that. By the time he caught up which was only a minute or so later he would see a very bare Virgil just now putting some hand sanitizer on himself. The Hispanic would move himself next to Virgil, appreciating the view for only a moment before grabbing the sanitizer and squirting some of it onto his own hands and rubbed them together to clean them. They did feel a bit nasty after helping the Werewolf out with cleaning his fur. Marcel would then glance to the side and listened to Virgil as the other man dressed himself and nodded his head at the other's explanation. That explained why he had gone so far ahead like that, it was bad memories. He had a lot of experience with those. The Hispanic would remain quiet for a moment and waited for Virgil to get his shirt back on before reaching over and taking his free hand in his own. He remained like that for a few moments before looking over at his lover and offered a small smile "I get it, it's alright Querido. We've both got...bad experiences..." that was putting it nicely. From Marcel's completely freeze and panic attacks over gunfire to Virgil's hang ups about feeling chased, no doubt both men were ******** over by fate in the worst way possible. Not even mentioning the plethora of other issues both men had but those weren't important right now. Marcel would squeeze Virgil's hand a bit and shook his head "Again though..I'm sorry about my own reaction...I was scared..." he wasn't a man to admit to being scared, at least not easily. But he just wanted to reaffirm what he had stated earlier and made sure that they could understand each other a bit more.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Virgil didn't protest as his hand was grabbed, only watching the quiet man as he continued to indulge in one of those bad habits of his. One, he realized now, he hardly felt the need to do. His compulsion to keep his mouth busy always got worse whenever he was leaning toward nervousness, and the unimportant and the small confession made him tilt toward it. If he couldn't scratch that itch then he got even more restless than usual as the other man often witnessed when they were at the apartment. It seemed the only time he could easily talk about what had happened to him was when he was left emotionally raw from a nightmare. "An' ah lot of baggage." He echoed softly, but he didn't think it was entirely a bad thing so much anymore. They were both strong in their own ways and were already beginning to learn to trust each other with their own terrible experiences. For a split second there, Virgil didn't quite believe the confession. Or, rather, the fact the veteran was admitting to being afraid. He'd always pegged him for someone who wouldn't admit to any hint of so-called weakness, much like himself in that regard, but he had and he didn't judge him for it. After all, confessing to emotion was only weak by society's standards. He thought he was the braver and stronger one out of the two of them for telling him. "No harm done, ain't gotta apologize...sounds like it was outta your control..." He put the cigarette out against the bed of his truck and flicked what little was left of it away. Marcel's hand might as well be a bear trap, for when they were holding hands he always found it hard to pull away from the embrace. Still, he did it although he was soon wrapping his arms around Marcel's shoulders in a hug. "I'll always be around for ya. Remember that, no matter what th' darkness says..." He let go of him and leaned back with a slight smile on his lips. "I'll prove 'em wrong in th' end." His smile shifted into a small grin as he winked at him. Virgil was a little shock at his own bravado in asking Marcel to continue to trust him when his past would prove that he was too good at failing those around him. But he would push the dark thought away. "Guess we both learned somethin' new about ourselves an' we didn't even have t'go on ah vision quest or anythin'." An overdramatic sigh was released. "An 'ere I was hopin' t'trip on some shrooms."

The Hispanic would quietly nod his head at the others comment, a lot of baggage sounded about right to be honest. Both men were put through the grinder and spat back out, only to get put through it again and again so many times. Admittingly enough Virgil probably had many more horrible life experiences than the Hispanic if only because of how much longer the other has been alive. The thought was not a pleasant one, Virgil probably didn't deserve half the s**t he was put through..but what he thought wouldn't change anything. Marcel would glance over at Virgil for a moment, finding it nice how easily he could brush it off as no big deal. In the Hispanic's mind it was quite the big deal, he didn't trust him enough to not run off and that in and of itself was awful of him. He genuinely hated how easily he caved to such horrible ideas but once he was pulled into the hug all the self loathing slowly went away as he leaned forward into the others embrace before wrapping his arms around the taller man's torso. He bit his lip at the promise and it reminded him of their first day together in the kitchen after Virgil experienced one of Marcel's night terrors for the first time. How he held him close like right now and within that moment the Hispanic scolded himself for forgetting about the others promise to him "Si..and I'll be there for you Querido, we've got each others backs.." he would make sure to burn each of their words into his memory so that such a thing would never happen again, he'd make sure of it. Marcel would then look up at Virgil and would return the others grin before chuckling a bit and reaching up and bumping his fist against the others chest in a playful punch "Go figure, you would want to get me ******** up. Wouldn't you?" he teased the other man with an amused grin before glancing in Virgil's hair and quirked an eyebrow before reaching up and plucking bits of debris that must have still clung to Virgil after his transformation, nasty considering how green the wood looked "Your foot still bothering you? I noticed you limping a bit earlier?" Marcel figured he'd make sure the other man was completely alright even if he knew the other man did seem to heal quickly enough.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Aye." Virgil believed his promise without question. He would be around for him and Marcel would be there for him. Until the day Marcel wasn't for whatever the reason might be. As much as he wanted this to last, his pessimism wouldn't allow him to think for long this was forever. Fate had ******** him over too much for him to trust it anymore although he was willing to be proven wrong. And he would be damned if he wasn't going to enjoy and cherish every second spent with the Spaniard. "Ow, hey! Who's bein' abusive now?" He laughed when he was punched, rubbing over the spot he'd gotten hit even though it hadn't hurt him in the slightest. "Maybe not on somethin' like shrooms...We're probably th' last people on earth who need t'take hallucinogens." With all the skeletons in their closets, taking anything that caused hallucinations would no doubt be like releasing a fat kid on a restrictive diet in a candy store. Their broken minds would have a field day. Virgil gave him a lopsided grin. "But I do remember readin' an article about how certain....herbal remedies could help those with PTSD." He shrugged a shoulder, only messing with the war vet out of habit. Catching the hand reaching for his hair and figuring Marcel was going to tease him as per usual, he went to pull back away though he stopped when he noticed a splinter of wood falling out of his hair. His nose wrinkled as he kept still while he helped him out again and removed the rest of the wood. He ran his fingers back through the thick strands once he was done, shaking a bit more debris loose."Gross." He uttered underneath his breath, wondering if he should've jumped into the pond after all. He had looked himself over after turning back into a human though, of course, he'd forgotten all about his hair. "Heh, yeah. I hurt when I feel through th' floor in th' house, but it's better now. The Change speeds th' whole healin' process up." Superficial injuries might heal quickly for the lycan, but he still appreciated the show of concern. Virgil glanced to where his boots were but decided against putting them back on. The grass here was plush and thick like some expensive brand of expensive carpet and he didn't mind walking around barefoot. He hopped and went over to the ice chest, taking out one of the bottles of tea. It would be offered out to Marcel once he came back to him. "How's th' lip?"

Marcel snorted with laughter at the mere mention of the two men on something like a hallucinogen, oh yeah that was a great idea. The very thought of being on those types of drugs was amusing to the Hispanic considering how ******** up both men were "No s**t, imagine all the ******** up stuff we'd probably end up seeing" bombs, bloodshed, noises that weren't there, even their darkest fears would probably crawl to the surface. That was the last thing he ever needed and the idea of fighting an enemy who wasn't really there did not sit well with the Hispanic man. Instead he would turn his head to Virgil as he listened to the other man begin to go on about herbal remedies and he couldn't help but roll his eyes at the other man's comment "Oh yeah, herbal remedies!" a grin formed on his face as he chuckled "Just what I need, some mint leaves and chives put into a tea to make my mental trauma go away" he joked about his own condition. Hell if he was going to suffer with it then he might as well poke fun at himself to cope, as was his usual method of humor. Besides teasing and smartass responses of course. Marcel would then nod his head in agreement with the off handed comment, moldy wood in one's hair was pretty gross, especially considering how long it's probably been out here. After voicing his concern over the other mans foot he would listen carefully as Virgil explained how the transformation between man and beast sped up the healing of wounds. Ah no wonder Virgil was such a tough guy, he had the ability to shrug off wounds "Sounds convenient as hell, broke a bone? Just transform real quick and problem solves!" Marcel of course didn't know the limits of a Werewolves healing so he was a bit clueless. But going off of what Virgil said it did seem like a good trick to use in tight spots to say the least. Marcel would then reach and grab the tea that was handed to him before lowering the tailgate and sitting down on top of it. He would then shrug his shoulders at the others question "Doesn't hurt too much, kinda forgot it was there" he would admit "Honestly since you did your little licking it hasn't been bothering me at all, so there's that I suppose" it still surprised the Hispanic how it had somehow actually worked. By all means it was just spit and nothing else but he supposed that whatever makes a Werewolf a Werewolf changed other things about the human body. He would then throw a flirty look to Virgil and quirked an eyebrow at the other man "Wanna kiss it and make it better though?" he asked with an amused look as he opened up his drink, not yet taking a drink just in case Virgil obliged the Hispanic.

While he wouldn't have judged him or tried to hard to keep from trying it for himself, he was relieved Marcel didn't have any desire to do so. He knew from experience watching someone go having a bad trip wasn't any better than suffering through one. His brow furrowed the slightest bit as he joked about his condition, unable to tell if he was just being sarcastic or if his reference had gone right over his head. The older man decided didn't matter either way. Marcel gave him enough trouble when he was sober, he wasn't so sure if he wanted to find out what would happen if he got him high. He smirked a bit when he thought his healing ability seemed convenient. It was, he supposed, though it wasn't as simple as he made it sound. Everything had its price. "In theory, anyway...depends on how bad th' damage is on how quick it is t'heal even when shiftin', not t'mention all th' energy it takes t'do it." Virgil somewhat grumbled the last part. He often let any serious wounds or injuries heal on their own outside of an emergency to spare himself the unpleasant feeling that came with starving. No matter how much he liked food, he didn't like needing to eat more than the usual amount it took to satisfy his hunger. A wolfish grin stole across his lips as he confessed his odd habit of licking had helped him. "Glad I didn't make ah fool outta myself for nothin'." Though his confidence quickly flattered upon having that flirtatious look aimed his way. Oh, ******** me. He got a bad feeling he wouldn't have been able to handle Marcel if the man wasn't already damaged. If he could still turn on the charm after being put through the grinder so many times, what had he been like before his life had gone to s**t? Something he would only be able to debate over. Virgil shook his head as he scoffed. "No, I don't." He might sound serious, but the way his lips were threatening to break into a smirk would give him away. The brute stepped between his legs and rested his hands on his thighs, leaning in to give him an ever so gentle kiss on the lips. Marcel's lip might be better, but he didn't want to risk hurting him by doing anything more. "Stop bein' so damn addictive..." He murmured as he stepped back, going to stand beside him.

Marcel made sure to listen to Virgil as he explained about the limitations on his healing abilities. It did make sense that such a powerful strength such as the other mans enhanced healing obviously had it's drawbacks, the body could only do so much. Even if that body was that of a Werewolves. Still though Marcel could only imagine how having such powerful healing could have saved him so much trouble out in the field but then again Virgil was probably making it much more simple than it actually was. Either way he was just glad that Virgil was hardy man, meaning he didn't have to worry too much about him either way. The Hispanic man would then chuckle a little bit and gave the other a small grin "Ah C'mon. You only made yourself seem like a bit of a fool" he teased the other man once again with a look of mirth on his face. Of course he would smirk at the other man at how he tried to deny the desire to kiss his lip better. The nerve of him! Kissing the Veteran was undeniably one of the best things he could offer that wasn't bedroom fun! Although when Virgil placed his hands on his thighs the Hispanic's grin widened as the other man leaned in for a kiss. He would lean in to meet the other man into the gentle kiss but wanting something so much more than that but he knew that even if it felt better, it didn't mean it was better so he would make do with this right now. Marcel would chuckle a little bit at Virgil's comment and shrugged his shoulders "What can I say? I have that effect" he spoke with a cocky smirk plastered on his face, clearly joking for the most part. Honestly that was a first being called addictive of all things but he was was flattered nonetheless. Marcel would chuckle a little bit as he lifted his the tea to his lips as he took a sip of it, just now realizing just how thirsty he was "That's a first for me Querido, never been called addictive before" he commented with an amused tone of voice "But what about me is addictive? My lips, my body...my charming personality?" he joked a bit with the other man good naturedly.

Virgil had a feeling he was being generous with his statement about only being a bit of a fool, but he wasn't going to dwell on it. It probably wasn't the first time he had and he doubted it would be the last. Half of the time, he hardly knew how to conduct himself around Marcel, often struck dumb by the depth of his love of him. He eyed him out of the corner of an eye, watching his lips curve into that cocky smirk after his joke. Anyone else, and he would have wanted to remove the smirk with his fist. All he wanted to do now was kiss them and he properly couldn't. Frustrating. He made a faint humming sound in response, being called addictive was an odd compliment but it was the best way he could put a name to the effect the Hispanic had over him. He couldn't quit him even if he wanted to. Virgil turned his head to fully look at him, his eyes slowly traveling over his frame as if he was trying to determine exactly what part of him held him so enthralled. A chuckle left him as he remembered the first time they met, how some part of his mind made it alarmingly clear how attractive he found him even as he had been accessing how difficult it would be to take the combat instructor out in a fight. Had wanted to get him into bed, and only that, until he had spent a little more time with him and more of the younger man's personality began to shine through. Then it hadn't taken long for something more powerful and innocent to settle into place alongside those purely sinful intentions. The brute had vehemently denied them at the time and still might be doing so if Marcel hadn't confessed his own similar feelings. "How about th' whole package?" He finally answered with a smirk, being a bit more serious than the joke required. A hand reached up to rub at the back of his neck. "I kinda get th' impression ya don't think...t'much of yourself, but ya mean th' world t'me, Marcel." A sincere smile was offered just before he turned to go get their food out of the front of his truck.

Marcel couldn't help but watch in amusement as Virgil looked him up and down, eyeing him up. Did it actually take some thought to pinpoint what he liked? That was flattering all things considered. Of course the other man's final answer caused the Hispanic to roll his eyes a bit though "Of course you'd say that" Marcel spoke with an amused tone in his voice before chuckling a little bit. Honestly how the other man held him in such high regard was beyond anything the Veteran could comprehend. Although speak of the devil he listened to Virgil comment about his apparent low self esteem and self deprecating jokes. The Hispanic meant the world to Virgil? That was surprising to say the least, Marcel knew Virgil loved him but to mean the world to the other man? That was something else. For once the Hispanic could feel his face burn only a little bit as he reached up to rub the back of his neck with his free hand before taking a sip of his tea just to stall for a moment to try and think of something to say. He ended up just feeling his face burn a bit more before chuckling a little bit awkwardly "I think it's a bit of a poor choice but..." it just came tumbling out again without much thought or reason behind it. Yeah, Virgil was right. He didn't think too much of himself at all "I mean...you know...I guess I just don't see what you see, all I see is a guy who is ill at ease whose good for a romp in bed and that's it...I suppose a matter of perspective" he put a voice to some of his own self doubt. Voicing his romantic feelings were neigh impossible for him without a lot of forethought but when it came to talking badly about himself the man was an expert on it.

Click to show. The bags with their snacks were sat down on the tailgate, Virgil rummaging through them until he found the opened bag of beef jerky and got out of a piece. He started to nibble on it as he listened to him, those greens scrutinizing him as they usually did when they were talking about something remotely serious or important. It was difficult to get frustrated with Marcel or anything else whenever he put himself down because he was the same way. And he wasn't going to throw stones inside of his glass house so to speak. Not that he thought he was ever a poor choice but, if he felt like arguing, it only seemed as if all he ever did was make poor choices. But, perhaps, the shorter man was the first right choice he'd made in a long while. His head inclined toward him a bit as a small smirk broke out. A good romp? He might as well have taken the words right out of his mouth, something he often stated about himself without apology. "I think you're right. About th' whole perspective thing, anyway." It wasn't as if he could understand why Marcel seemed to think he was so great. Maybe he made good eye candy, but he didn't think he had much more to offer than that. "An' I suppose us wolves feel things differently..." Virgil gave a toothy grin though it was quick to fade, his expression becoming contemplative. There was little doubt in his mind that his kind did, in fact, feel things far more deeply than a human could probably comprehend. It had been explained to him once upon a time, but he hadn't really understood about a Purpose. He remembered thinking the whole idea of a Purpose was absolute bullshit, the very thought of something he had no choice in or control over having a profound effect on his life was just wrong. It wasn't too long after the other werewolf had told him he learned they at least had to be correct about some of it, their information about what would happen to a wolf when they lost sight of themselves and the Purpose had definitely been spot on. They became the monsters Hollywood made them out to be. Worse, even. And there were times in the last few weeks Virgil felt he was dangerously close to crossing the line into becoming a Feral. Until a snarky jerk came waltzing into his dark world and offered peace to all the chaos inside of him. Though the memory of his ex-lover's mad ramblings was enough to keep him silent on the subject still. Because he didn't know for certain if this was something more than simple love and he was loathed to make the same mistake Mathew had. Virgil opened his mouth as if to say something but only ended up stuffing the rest of the piece into his mouth. Possibly tarnishing their future with the information could wait another day, he supposed. No sense in ruining their camping trip. He inhaled deeply and slowly let the breath out as he stretched his arms above his head. "Still...give yerself some credit...ya got caught me, after all, right?" Hopefully, the sarcasm in his drawl would get the meaning across that it was meant to be a joke. If Virgil were a fish, he would the kind of trash fish people left on the land to die.

Marcel gave a silent sigh as he felt frustrated with himself. Why couldn't he just take a compliment from the other man without arguing about it? About how he didn't feel like he was worth any praise? It really was childish in his opinion he should just take a compliment and enjoy it...but he knew himself and knew that it wouldn't happen. His psyche wouldn't allow it. However he would look over at Virgil and nodded his head, a different perspective did seem to change how things could be perceived. He saw Virgil for what he was, a damaged man. But that wasn't it, he saw a romantic individual with a good heart and someone who he could trust and confide in. They both went through hell in their own ways so that was another thing they did have in common. But then he could only imagine how Virgil saw him, there must have been some qualities that the Hispanic didn't see that he could because his self loathing nature wouldn't let him see the positives. Perhaps one day if his mental heath ever improved he could maybe learn to love himself a bit more than he actually does. Marcel would then have his interest piqued when Virgil offhandedly commented about how Werewolves felt differently. That was something that caught his attention, he couldn't help but wonder how a Werewolf felt any differently. Was an instinctual thing or maybe something more? He almost wanted to prod into this nugget of information however Virgil's next comment had Marcel laughing a bit before nodding his head. His question could wait for another day "I suppose you're right Querido, I caught you alright. Caught you sleeping on a ******** picnic table at work of all places" the Veteran teased the other man with an amused look playing at his face before chuckling a little bit and reached over to snag his own piece of jerky before popping it into his mouth.

Marcel grew a bit contemplative himself as he thought about their conversation and his very own words "A matter of perspective...huh.." he would grow thoughtful before slowly reaching into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. Thankfully the man at the store had informed him that all his contacts were transferred over to his new phone thankfully and he would tap on the little icon that looked like a phone book. His list of contacts were relatively short, some old war friends who may or may not still be alive, he hadn't checked in on any of them in a very long time. A lot of fast food places that delivered but he stopped at one seemingly personal number labeled "Dante" and he would stare at it for a few moments and tapped on the name, staring at that little green phone icon for a what felt like a painful amount of time. Slowly a trembling thumb slowly moved to hover over it before letting out a grunt as he let anxiety and fear get the better of him and placed his phone down beside him and buried his face in his hands for a moment "Some Father, can't even call my own son..."
