Physical Description: Abelard is a tall, lanky fifteen year old with large grey eyes and a light, if tan, complexion from time in the sun. Although he never seemed to lose the saftness of features marking him young, this platinum blonde boy does tend towards simple, undyed fashion. His brother gave him one outfit for formal affairs outside his candidacy robes, and he alwaysd worries about it being too wealthy. Abelard also has a bit of a long limbed build-- wether he'll fully grow into them or not is remaining to be seen.
Personality: Abelard is the bnaby of a larghe family birthed by a shepard abd his wife. s his siblings moved out into the world, more siblings came, until Abelard, and as lovey as he ius of his siblings, he plays favorites and is very much THE BABY. He's not a cruel or mean child, often kind to unrelated folks, but he is SPOILT, used to getting his way. Surprisingly, he doesn't value things (beyond his stuffed lamb, Lamby), so much as people -- he will FIGHT to dote on his favorite people, and doesn't take 'no' nicely.
A boy who likes his own way may seem selfish, but when he's not trying to fend his siblings off his favorite brother, Abelard is actually looking after younger children, or offering himself as a playmate. Abelard even enjoys approaching animals outside, talking to them for hours and learning their behaviours. He'll speak to any creature, and makes up responses-- at least, if they don't respond thermselves. Abelard loves listening to stories, often sitting to listen to them as long as he can, and loves making them up, too. Honestly though, he's easily happy, and when he is sad, he alsoi feels it just as deepy. He just tries not to let much bother him.

History:
Abelard comes from a big family -- he has at least 4 older siblings, most moved off into the world before he was born, and the boy chose favorites of them. As the youngest he often got gifts and stories growing up -- fromthings to practice sheep are to his favorite, a stuffed land nasmed Lamby. Although poor, he wasn't unhappy and loved helping to waytch the herd. When Thread returned, though, his life collapsed. Abelard was safe inside that day, his parentsd both out watching the herds, and they did try to save the herd of sheep they kept, but the caves were too far -- Abelard's parents, and the herd perished to Thread. Abelard remained safe indoors when he saw the clumps, waiting for safety, and the one to find him was his brother, a rider whom, after the fgall stopped, rushed to check his parents and baby brother. Devastatedly, Abelard was brought to the Weyr for his brother to look after, and was raised there since, happening to be Searched one day while helping mind the Weyr's sheep.
Other: Abelard is incredibly pragmatic. He doesn't read or write and his brother does, meaning the boy defers all writing to his brother bevcause, well, he doesn't know that it's useful (Sadly). He'll learn if he must, but Abelard much prefers hugging his plush sheep Lamby, and he tends to learn his lessons because they're potentially useful. He can be prodded though!
