Physical Description: A dainty, lovely girl with a small, delicate face and charming features. Her skin is pale, with a golden undertone. Her eyes are a grey so dark that they are nearly black. It's not entirely clear whether her long, straight hair is naturally silvered blond, or whether it's been treated. She loves to wear brightly colored clothing, as well as the occasional monotone ensemble. Yunara's style is girly and sweet, like the girl wearing it.
Personality: Quiet, kind, and genuinely caring, Yunara nevertheless possesses a deep well of inner strength. However, it does not come in the form of sharp tongued retorts, but rather the sheer level of adversity she will endure. There is a business savvy mind hidden behind platitudes and reassurances. Although she has been raised to be in all ways the biddable, pleasant child, she certainly has thoughts and opinions of her own. She will, however, prove tactful and deft when expressing them. More often than not, she would prefer to allow the listener to come to the conclusion on their own, or else to let another believe they have thought up her idea.
Though she is shy, she is well accustomed to serving others, which has forced her out of what would otherwise naturally be a tendency to play the wallflower. She pays very, very close attention to what is said, listening more than she speaks, and retaining a considerable amount of what's been said. As such, she rarely forgets important details, although she's slow to speak up when doing so might hurt or offend another. It's a bit of a problem, actually, for she might easily find herself in the position of being taken much advantage of.
She has a soft heart that tends to bleed a little too easily. Concealing her own emotions beneath a mask of politeness, Yunara nonetheless feels them deeply. She has been taught to bury them, however, and not to let anyone see what might be hiding behind that mask. When she does have outbursts, they startle even her, and then she'll retreat immediately. What might have been a healthy habit in small doses is... less so in its current form. This girl definitely needs an outlet.

History: Born to a pair of traders who happily assisted with the running of a family owned tea shop, Yunara was always a pleasant child. She was a smiley baby, if a little shy when passed around between the various aunties and uncles. When Yunara was old enough to be left more or less by herself, her parents, Yunel and Arani, left to continue their travels in the tea trade. Periodically they would return, bringing bountiful wares with them, and always ensuring that the shop had a ready supply of the finest teas in Pern. The shop was a joyous place for little Yunara, who took well to serving customers. Doted upon by her grandparents, she lacked for nothing.
... Well, almost. From time to time a holder boy would come to the shop to visit, but especially to purchase and enjoy his favorite tea. As the establishment was both a shop and a tea house, she got to know many of the regulars, becoming invested in their lives and stories. Her life was fairly calm and ordinary, with brief flashes of glamor when distinguished visitors came to call. That one holder boy was by no means the only young man to frequent the shop.
Yunara had a number of suitors, all of whom unfortunately suffered from one irredeemable flaw: they weren't Karou. No matter how haughty the lad might be he was charming in his way, and unfortunately the little shopkeeper was utterly smitten. She didn't notice that there might be others in Telgar who desired her hand. Karou did not, but that was okay. It seemed that she was content to pine from afar.
Then one day the unthinkable happened. Yunara, whose family had no idea that Thread could return, lost nearly everything in one fell swoop. The shop, which was inside the Hold proper, was largely untouched. But Yunara's parents perished in their travels, never to return. Along with the new baby they had all been eagerly awaiting through letters sent. Almost all of their suppliers suffered terribly from the Threadfall. The shop was surviving on the stores of aged teas they had put by to allow further fermentation, as well as the dry herbs that they normally kept in stock.
Devastated as she was, Yunara maintained a cheery outward seeming, giving almost her usual level of quiet enthusiasm. Despite the terrible tragedy that had befallen them all, things seemed almost back to normal. However, one shop goer did not return as usual. Karou, the boy she had so foolishly fallen in love with, was not seen nor heard from for weeks on end. On his last visit, he'd left his signet ring behind, and she'd made up her mind to give it back to him personally. But he didn't come.
Placing the ring safely on a chain around her neck that she hid beneath her clothes, Yunara went about her business. If she was a little red eyed, it was surely only from a lack of sleep. Sniffles were more than likely simply due to a mild cold. However, her grandparents knew the truth, as they discovered her weeping in private one night after a long day working at the shop. It was quite unlike 'her young gentleman,' as her grandfather had taken to calling him, not to visit the shop at least semi-regularly.
That was what convinced her that he, like so many others, had perished. Heartbroken, Yunara threw herself into her work, hoping that it might ease her sorrow, even for a moment. Unfortunately, it only seemed to prolong her days, and to remind her that she would never see him again. Not that her life revolved around him. But... still, a part of her had hoped that maybe one day, maybe if she was very lucky, and very prosperous, he might deign to notice a little shop girl. Her love was doomed to die along with him.
However, it seemed that fate had other things in mind, for one day the lad came back. Tattered and somewhat worse for the wear, and not at all like his usual self, but very much alive. Without thinking, the young woman threw herself into his arms, desperately glad that he had survived. When she realized where she was and what, exactly, she'd been doing, she ran away to hide her shame away from his view. Unfortunately, her grandparents sent her out to bring him his order, and it was then that she let slip a knowledge that he had not yet acquired: his family had been all but wiped off the map, along with his hold.
