Physical Description: Long and lean, Alanik looks like he never really managed to get past that awkward stage of growth where it's all arms, legs, bony elbows and knees. He's been assured on several occasions that he'll fill out in time and not always look like a flagpole forever, but he doesn't seemed to be particularly concerned beyond the minor annoyance of people asking if he's eating enough and lanky as he is, he's by no means clumsy and is just as at ease on his own legs as he is on the back of a runner.
In all but height, Alanik has inherited his mother's looks; his skin is a warm olive that's more prone to tanning than burning, his eyes a dark nut brown and his hair black, with bangs just a little shy of being too long, cropped short at the top and with a long runnertail at the back.
Personality: Alanik is the definition of an introvert and the sort of person to find the nearest animal and interact with it rather than other individuals. He also isn't really one to talk about himself in any way shape or form, he's a speak when spoken to kinda guy, though it's less of an unwillingness to share and more that he finds the topic of himself not interesting enough to be of note. He's a listener first and foremost and while he often has advice to give, personal questions are almost always redirected to others or he'll shift into talking about beasts instead.
Despite the difficulties that come with opening up, he cares deeply for the people he forges relationships with, friends are as close as family. And that being said, it's rather easy to win Alanik over, though he seems to miss some pretty obvious warning signs when it comes to his choice of friends and as a result, he's been burned by it on more than one occasion.

History: Alanik grew up in Keroon Hold and was the youngest of three among his siblings. His parents met in the usual and overly sappy romantic way in which only seems to occur and be lauded when one of your parents is a Harper, his father having been a journeyman who fell for his mother and evidently the rest was history and Alanik has no care to repeat, though he does somewhat appreciate the romanticism of it.
For all intents and purposes, Alanik never thought being Searched was something that could remotely happen. His days were filled with tending to, riding and racing Runnerbeasts and the thought of ending up in an entirely different sort of saddle is a bit unnerving, but being the youngest and the son of a Harper, the chance to chase a fanciful dream was an opportunity he'd be a fool to refuse. Not to mention it would also get the aunties off his back about when he was going to find a nice girl.
