Name: T'nus
Age: 42
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Dudes

Weyr: High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank: Candidatemaster Second

Previous Rank/Craft: Minercraft

Physical Description: T'nus is the type of man that looks absolutely impossing and intimidating, yet at the same time someone who calls to the eye no matter where he is in a room; he is tall and toned from turns of labor and general upkeep. T'nus also went grey rather early in life, partially from genetics and partially from an illness that left him weak. He enjoys being a silver fox though, with sharp reddish-brown eyes that always seem to be eternally judging everyone around him. He also has a rather nice beard that is very well kept.

He dresses impeccably and maintains a very professional appearance. To catch him looking even slightly ruffled is an extremely rare event and should be marked in the pages of history.

Personality: T’nus is not a wallflower, make no mistake. The type who would be just as comfortable leading as he would be following, T’nus makes a powerful ally to have in any corner when push comes to shove. Gifted with an air (and flair) that draws people to him no matter the reason, he can inspire all sorts of emotions with just a few words and actions, provided he does a few things to back up what he says. A man more of action that just empty conversation, T’nus finds it’s so much easier to gain when you get your hands dirty and lead by example, and it’s so much easier to cut your losses in the same manner.

A sort of large herdbeast in the room is the fact that T’nus is rather self-serving. This in no way means he cannot be relied on or depended on to complete a task, as he is exceptionally competent in whatever is assigned to him, but it also means he can’t always be trusted to have the affairs of others at heart. The pros and cons of what are asked of him are always weighed against their potential outcomes and is relationship with the person involved; T’nus is more inclined to do things for people he likes and respects. Which, sadly, are few and far between. T'nus follows the old ways of the Weyr, as it were, and as such is very traditional. Women on browns will always get the side eye (as do many women on blues, sadly) and men on greens are often dismissed. Whiteriders altogether are weighed and measured for their uses, often entirely found lacking by whatever system the bronzerider holds. He holds some level of respect for goldriders, as is their due, but also expects others to understand their place beneath the command of a bronzerider.

Towards candidates and children in the Weyr, T'nus is far kinder...to a certain degree. While not having grown up with the threat of Thread he understands the pressures they are placed under and thus empathizes more with their struggles. Despite how he can easily come off T'nus doesn't want anyone to outright fail if there are methods in place to prevent it; a good commander doesn't abandon any soldier without testing their mettle. This makes T'nus someone good to go and speak with over problems, though it doesn't necessarily mean he's always listening or will actually take a stand to help fix something.

Don't piss him off though. T'nus will not move when an opinion is formed, and it will take a act of Faranth to get him to change his mind. If he dislikes someone it is painfully obvious; even though he will be polite and not verbally attacking, only a blind person would miss the signs that whomever has earned his ire is completely hated.

Positive Trait List Intelligent, charismatic, empathetic
Negative Trait List Hidebound, ill-tempered, self-serving

History: Born to a family in the Minecraft, T'nus (then Titetanus) found his heartbeat in the strike of a pick against walls of stone. It was safe to say his family weren’t miners because they wanted to be, but rather due to the nature of circumstance, and the lad fell in among his father and two older brothers when he was old enough to gather stone. When he was old enough to swing he did that too, all the while growing unhappy with the nature of what he was doing - the lad understood that mining was important and so many depended on him, but why was his family being treated poorly? Why was he forced to accept this fate when others would gather and speak in whispered tones of changing their luck? Such thoughts fade over time, either filled away as the busy days worked him to exhaustion or just forgotten as he aged.

As an older youth he had dreams of being a healer, having grown to admire those who would rush in and help after collapses in the mine, or those who simply were there in times of pain and need. Subtle attempts to bring up leaving the “family tradition” were shot down rapidly - a miner would always be a miner until the day they died (or the mine killed them), and a sore spot of distaste bloomed. It seemed as though the seed he’d nurtured as a child still existed, and the roots ran deep within his subconscious.

Turn after turn of being a miner turned him bitter against his family, against the whole tradition, and against himself for being unable to escape. When a cave in claimed the lives of his father and an older brother he mourned, as did his entire family, but he took it as a chance to escape. Without the main source of restraint there to keep him tied down he could escape, despite the fact his mother would need him and he knew nothing else; he would find a way to be free, even if it wasn't the dream of being a healer that he wanted calling to him. He would wait now, until her protests grew weaker, and he would wait until the right sign came.

The sign, of course, was a dragon on search, visiting for a massive clutch that was cooling on the sands. Boys and girls were needed, the searcher had said, and he moved without looking back. The sounds of picks on stone would no longer haunt his dreams, the feeling of burning in his lungs with dust and dirt would no longer coat his tongue. He would die beneath an open sky, were Thread to claim him now, and not under cold hard stone.

T'nus did not Impress at that magical first clutch, nor did he at the many that came after. It would be at his last standing before he aged out that found him with a lifemate, a tiny and dark dragonet so small he could carry the beast from the sands. Minimuth, the bronze had called himself. T'nus, the young man had replied. High Reaches, their new home had said. Dragonriders, their newest title.

And to that title T'nus took, thriving in his lessons and thriving in his ranks. High Reaches suited his temperament, suited his drive, and with Minimuth at his side he soon found himself in a position of command he never once dreamed he have. A chance to teach candidates to think for themselves, to put themselves in a position where they could choose their own fates and follow in his steps. A position he relished and would never give up.

Other: T'nus has been "absent" for much of the Turn due to the deadly flu that swept through High Reaches earlier in. He has finally been cleared to come back to work.

DRAGON

Name: Minimuth
Age: 16
Color: Bronze
Size: 35'

Physical Description: Minimuth is ridiculously tiny, yet thankfully proportionate. Small in wing and tail and claw, his hide is also not quite as shiny as a perceived bronze should look. He is muscular though, and strong, and there is nothing to suggest his stamina is sub-par.

Personality: Inferiority, thy name is Minimuth. Exceptionally tiny for a bronze, to the point where he could be considered a medium sized brown, his attitude comes from the fact he is nothing like what a perceived High Reaches bronze should be in terms of appearance. He is a loud and proud dragon, with a richly booming voice that lingers long after he's stopped speaking. There is more than enough arrogance in his tone, if not all of his actions, that do color him as a bronze even if everything else does not. Of course, being loud doesn't stop him from feeling lesser to all other bronzes, or even the occasional brown, but unless a dragon is particularly close to him they would never know. His rider certainly does, but that is their personal business.

A stickler for the rules, this bronze doesn't allow for anyone to deviate from the correct path - even his rider is subjected to following. Naturally T'nus may be given some leeway with things, though it's to be expected that he gets an earful now and then when he goes easy on someone, or changes the punishments over committed problems. Minimuth loves to give daily, if not candlemarkly, reports to his rider and the Candidatemaster proper (plus dragon) over the state of things, and he is also not shy in actually speaking to unruly candidates as well. That's not to say he speaks over his rider - T'nus is more than capable of communicating on his own - but there is a level of comfort that allows for him to work with minor hesitation to others.

Minimuth is also the extremely jealous sort, to which he harbors incredibly aggressive feelings towards anyone whom his rider might show any sort of affections towards. They'll never share the bond that he shares with T'nus, of course, but that doesn't mean he has to like to tolerate someone else intruding into their special place together. Much like his rider he is not very subtle in hiding his distaste, so it's quite obvious when this bronze isn't fond of someone.

SO CLOSE CRAB... One little thing!!

Dragons don't love their riders romantically. They can be super jealous of having to share their attention with someone else on a nonromantic level, though. Plz to reel that aspect in, TY dear! heart
