Name: Rishemni
Age: 112
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Does it matter? (No more drive)
Weyr: High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank: Retired
Previous Rank/Craft: Junior Weyrwomen
Physical Description: Rishemni is tall and slightly pudgy in that old woman sort of way with pale wrinkled skin, lots of laugh lines, grey eyes, and dark brown hair that has long since faded to silver. She carries a cane which is more of a prop that she uses to poke people with.

Personality: Rishemni is generally a cheerful person. Her life left is too short to be otherwise in her opinion. She is playful and prone to jokes, though the jokes do often have a morbid characteristic. She is rather irreverent to the world in a quirky and opinionated way that leads to some chaffing with others. She doesn’t care who she upsets and is unrestrained in her actions. There are few outside of the leadership and active goldriders that out rank her and while she respects those who do outrank her she has seen leadership come and go, the Weyr will still be there long after they are gone so she doesn’t care too much what they think. Her years have made her confident and she knows what she is capable of and what she is not.

Positive Trait List cheerful, confident, playful
Negative Trait List unrestrained, opinionated, irreverent
History: Born a weyrbrat, Rishemni grew up in the creche with a pair of green rider parents that were basically absent from her life. That didn’t bother her, she had surrogate parents galore, each filling a separate part of her needs. Her younger years were typical of a weyrbrat. She had her friends, some of them that imrpressed before for with her, and together they explored every inch of the Weyr. It wasn’t until she was standing for clutches and interacting with Candidates from other places that Rishemni realized how lucky and idyllic her life had been so far. Being able to run and play, to draw and learn was a more rare thing than she had realized.

When she was 14 she started standing for clutches. She stood for a lot of clutches but never worried about finding her dragon. It was a matter of waiting, she knew it would happen just no when or to what color. At the age of twenty when wonderful gold Palanith decided to shove her down and declare that this one was hers. Rishemni went into her new life laughter.

Weyrling training was pretty standard for a young Goldrider and Rishemni was a daft hand at the flamethrower. She knew she would never be Weyrwoman and was not bothered by it in the least. It wasn’t a position she wanted. It was not something that she thought she would be good at. Rishemni knew she was more of a support staff sort of person and would only make enemies for the Weyr should she be in charge.

During her early twenties she had a lover that she thought would be the one. The brownrider was attentive and thoughtful. But it was not to be as she discovered when she found him in bed with another man. It bothered her more that he couldn’t tell her he was interested in someone else and it left her feeling as though she was not good enough. It was a few years before she even considered a relationship again. Then L’stiti of bronze Fastath came along.

The man didn’t fawn over her and didn’t seem treat her differently than any other rider but there were quite things she began to notice. A cup of Klah brought to her just when she needed it, a present here, a kind word there, that made her feel special again. It also helped that Fastath and Palanith were fast friends and he was the only one that she would allow to catch her. At 29 they began to have a relationship and at 32 became weyrmated. Rishemni raised 7 children, which didn’t leave much time for crafts, who in turn had 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren who she loves dearly. She did take up sketching as it was an easy thing to pick up and put down. Her kids got gifts of pictures often. Sadly 6 years ago L’stiti died and while she grieved it was with the thoughts of all the good years they had together and thankful for them. Palanith in turn had a number of clutches with Fastath throughout the years and is still known to mother her children long after they became adults in their own rights.

Over the years Rishemni watched the weyrleadership change and grow. She watched in amusement as the current Weyrwoman came into power in appreciation at the brilliant maneuvering of the previous Weyrwoman Lisella. She finds Zheria amusing and delightful. She also calls her “that nice opinionated girl.”

Eventually Palanith’s clutches started getting farther apart and smaller. Rishemni knew that soon Palanith would stop rising and she would become retired. The pair was unbothered by the notion and in fact looked forward to being able to spend even more time with family and maybe take up a hobby. She began sketching more frequently and can often be found perched around the Weyr with a notebook on her knee. She also started to carry a cane for the times that she found walking more difficult. And also to use for emphasis or to poke people. Age had its privileges she found.

When Thread returned Rishemni was far too old to take to the skies. It pained her that she could not help protect the people. She understanding the seriousness of it all and it is one of the few topics she won't make morbid jokes about.

The developments with Western and the ceasing of candidate swaps seemed a good idea to her. If there is so much disrespect, in both camps, they should all take some time to get their houses in order before continuing. Rishemni had no fear that Zheria and Hestina would get everyone in line.

Other: Awhile no true artist, Rishemni can do a decent drawing.

DRAGON
Name: Palanith
Age: 92
Color: Gold
Size: 43
Physical Description: Her headnobs are longer than expected and her tail is a little short for her body size, but over all she is a lovely dragon.
Personality: Palanith is very sure of herself with years behind her to have taught her life’s lessons. Motherly and a busybody in many ways, she will interfere in affairs that she believes she knows better in. She doesn’t care if you don’t want her advice, she will give it anyway. Unless you outranked her. She can be calm and patient with weyrlings and short with those she thinks should know better. She won’t stand stupidity in the older dragons, and will school them with a sharp tongue.

Approved. However, Rishemni does have a number of riders who outrank her, and this mention ought to be changed. She's just a retired goldrider at this point, so the active duty goldriders still possess more rank and sway than her - however, they are likely to be respectful given her age and seniority.
