Day 30 Theme: Finish/Improve, Chinese New Year
Comments: okay, okay i know. today is chinese new year, yeah? i know! i'm not a fool!! (i mean i am, but)
yesterday night would have been the huge dinner/celebration/firework setting, so it's the most important night in our family HAHA and we would call it “大年三十” for new years eve (lit translated as big year 30) which is funny because this is day 30 of the challenge!
so,,,,while today is the actual lunar new year--yesterday was the real celebration!! the party!! ....so that's my justification HAHA
....too bad i was stuck at school :c
now about the actual picture, worked on yesterday's submission! inked and added some color. honestly it looks worse but whatever ❤

a bit worried about my midterm today, but oh well.
possible themes: Medium: Food, Spicy, Kaiju, Tokyo, Television, Villain
EDIT 03/06 WED a wip from a piece i'm writing for a zine!! cardcaptor sakura, tokyo tower
The first time Sakura had that dream, she still hadn’t learned about the Clow Cards, or even met Kero-chan. Truth to be told, now she’s not even sure if it was the same dream--but it certainly felt similar. Grandiose, mysterious, bittersweet. Beautiful. Something strange, but to be treasured. Something unfamiliar, but already nostalgic. But something was missing.
###
She stood there, alone, as translucent petals of her namesake flower fluttered past. It was dark out, yet the Tokyo Tower was the only building illuminated. Bright whites and pinpricks of primary colors alternated in some sort of private light show. That wasn’t, however, the only source of light. The tower itself seemed to be alive--humming and glowing faintly, as if mimicking a heartbeat. Calling to her, synchronizing with her.
Though she could still see the faint, blurred outlines of the cityscape, the tower stood in stark contrast to the rest of the world. The fresh scent of flowers once again drew her attention, and she felt herself turn to look for the source of the petals. Instead, she saw an abyss as the world seemingly came to an end. No guiding lights or neon brand names rose up to meet her gaze as she looked for someone else awake in this dream.
For, it had to be a dream. She knew this without quite knowing why.
She wasn’t sure who she was looking for. Her dad, perhaps? Her brother? But neither of them felt right. She was looking for something...softer? (What did that even mean?) Well, not like dreams had to make sense. At least she knew that the dream would come to an end, and she’d wake up eventually. There was a sense of comfort in that certainty.
The lights on the Tokyo Tower faded to muted shades of blue, then, to nothingness. Consumed by the darkness, the Tower soon ceased to exist. Still, there was the everpresent flash of a piercing red where the peak would have been. This is where I am, it said. This is where I will always be.
It was the only thing that Sakura could see.
~~~
When she woke up, all she remembered was the lingering ache of loneliness.
