Name: F’ahr (Fomerly Fanawahr)
Age: 62
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Lul
Weyr: High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Apprentice Glasscrafter - Pottery
Physical Description: F’ahr is a fine looking man. Standing at 6’2”, he is fairly average in build and muscled in the way any man who has handled a dragon for nearly 50 years. Born in Igen Hold, he has golden skin, dark eyes, and dark, long, curly, hair that reaches his shoulders. He keeps a finely trimmed goatee. Several burns are covered by tattoos in various places - under his eyes, on the back of his hands, and across the back of his shoulders.
Personality: F’ahr is a watchdog - always keeping his eyes out for trouble, and rooting it out where he sees it may have been planted. Rulebreakers and generally unsavory people will never find a friend in him. He tends to be overly critical and suspicious of those types, though even the actions of more palatable personalities will come under scrutiny. That said, he is not a difficult person to befriend - his face is far scarier than his attitude when he’s caught on a good day and with F’ahr most days are good days. It isn’t unusual to find F’ahr befriending those who are considered delicate or lonely.

But not everybody is happy being judged as either of those things, and he can grate on nerves.

Similar to any loyal hound, F’ahr’s loyalty comes with complete dedication - he is ready to die for his wing, his Weyr, and all who have come into his fold (whether they’re happy to be there or not). It isn’t that he comes without fear - it is simply that he has chosen to be afraid and do it anyways. This can make him endlessly reckless, making decisions without weighing his own safety first. This recklessness often is fuel being added to a fire when it comes to rooting out trouble, especially if one doesn’t want him outing a troublemaker just yet - or at all - for their own purposes. It can take a lot of redirection, and even then his thoughts on the matter will still be clear: Do not come into his house to cause trouble.

Conflict isn’t something F’ahr shies away from, and he can be extremely confrontational towards even those he calls friend. He doesn’t turn a blind eye and if you think he’s not going to like something you’ve done, you are sure to find out his feelings the moment he knows what happened.
Positive Trait List Protective, Stalwart, Courageous
Negative Trait List Judgemental, Reckless, Confrontational
History: There was never any question that Fanawahr was not his father’s child - the two could not have been more different even fresh from the womb, and the resemblance to his mother was even less. Despite this, Fanaleir loved his second born son. Ranaleir, his first born, had other thoughts about his younger brother - not that he ever called the boy born 7 years his junior anything like that. While Fanawahr had solace in his father, mother, and even the war games played in the streets with other kids using sticks, home life was never particularly welcoming to the boy, who found cruelty and malice in both word and gesture from Ranaleir.

An altercation between the two in their father’s workshop resulted in Fanaleir severely injuring himself to prevent a heavy tanning fixture from falling onto his younger son and both boys were left with burns and bruises. While it was clear where the blame lay, and Fanaleir did make a full recovery after several months, Fanawahr and Ranaleir were separated. At only 14, Ranaleir was sent to the Tanner Hall and found no place for himself in the family home to visit while Fanawahr was there. Four turns later, Fanawahr would be sent off to Igen Hold to pursue the one interest his parents could worm out of the clearly traumatized boy.

Now 11, Fanawahr at first struggled to connect with more than his new craft - but any who thought him a target would find a renewed sense of strength and someone who was now ready to fight back if push came to shove. More than that, a zero tolerance attitude bloomed as more and more younger apprentices joined the hall and he began to assume the new position as the older ‘sibling’ of sorts to many of them. It would be in the next 3 turns he thrived as a protector. At the end of those 3 years, a clutch was laid upon the sands of Ista Weyr and like several others, Fanawahr would be taken to stand before it.

From that same clutch a fine brown, all purpose and no nonsense, would all but beeline to the young man, throwing himself at his feet. Fanawahr! Your Mesometh is here to protect the weak at your side! he decreed so all could hear. With his life changed forever, the young man who left what training the Weyr offered was a very different than the one who had left his home turns before.

He would return to the home of his youth to introduce his new lifemate to his parents - and to commission his father for riding straps made with his own hands. That Ranaleir was there offered only the chance to rub the man’s nose in it - F’ahr never found it a fight worth having. After a few years home, however, Mesometh became restless and the two chose to relocate. First to High Reaches, finding their rigid training structure served both man and dragon well.

They have remained there since - and a decision they found paid off in the long run. Threadfall has only highlighted their eagerness to serve and protect.
Other: Theme Song for a Boy and his Dragon

DRAGON
Name: Mesometh
Age: 48
Color: Brown
Size: 39’
Physical Description: Mesometh is a tall and lean dragon, while strong he is not overly muscled. His headknobs are both longer than usual and stick up at a slight angle that while not head turning in strangeness, gives a distinct break in his profile.
Personality: Wrongdoers beware, Mesometh is here and he is keeping an eye on you! The innocent and the young will always find a friend in this brown, who was born to root out that which would create disorder and disaster. He is a stalwart defender and so very, very gentle. To the point that one would be surprised to find such a gentle, loving, tender dragon was capable of bearing his fangs so.

Those who draw his ire will find that Mesometh is ferocious, and he will not back down from a fight once it is picked, and he will not relent until he is victorious or he is forced to back down by either a higher ranking dragon OR his rider. Even if he has to play the long game.

He is the type of dragon that only has hearts for one, and whichever dragon captures his affection will have him entirely.

I don't think that the trait "martyr" quite works, here. If he were constantly self-sacrificing, then I would consider him a martyr. However, he seems to just not take himself into account when planning or taking actions.

Hmm, the way I was thinking of that trait and the actual definition of a martyr conflict a little, so I'm going to let that mull a bit to see how it plays out (since I think the way I meant it is mostly covered in his other traits and opportunity to play out ICly).

I've added Judgemental in it's place (in red so it is easy to find in all that lmao).
