Rather short, small framed, naturally tanned skin, with sun-kissed freckles on her cheeks Kynlei looks as if she had spent most of her life outside in the bright sun of the coast. Her hair is shaved on the sides while the rest is a golden blond typically pulled back in a braid or a ponytail. She has golden brown eyes that almost take on a feline like appearance and can be found rather barefoot most of the time until she feels like her toes are going to freeze off thanks to the weather. Kynlei tends to wear leathers, and linen mostly in dark browns, greens and occasionally black.
Personality:
Kynlei is used to things not going at all they way they are planned, there have been a lot of situations where she has found herself having to think quick on her feet and handle situations with a cool-level head no matter how despairing they become. This includes to having to adapt to a new place, new rules, new people and traditions as a way to blend in or to cause the least amount of trouble. She tends to be rather preceptive when it comes to others, knowing little quirks, signs, being able to read tells and how things may or may not go depending on someone else’s expressions or words. She has a knack for learning new skills quickly is an absolute necessity for survival, and having to know when to run, when to move, when to know your limits keeps you from getting hurt or worse.

It is hard to rattle her cage, or even for her to show any sign of fear when faced with problems that may be entirely out of her zone. She has the tendency of leaping into help others showing no concerns or regards to her own safety if it means getting everyone out alive.

While her cleverness helps in dire strait situations, it also causes problems when she gets bored at the weyr, or is trapped dealing with something she would rather avoid all together. She tends to come up with schemes to get out of personal things, to avoid certain duties with someone specific or at times just to help things along between others when she thinks they need help.

Kynlei’s life has taught her a few things, keep everything close to your chest and never let anyone know anything about you and you are always on your own so don’t count on others. Fenhareth was her first true friend, but it is easier when they can understand your feelings and thoughts without having to speak them outloud or from underneath the scowling mask. With others it is easier to keep them at arm's length instead of making the effort to befriend or work as a team instead of alone when faced with a situation.

It is hard for Kynlei to open up to others, to express any real emotion besides bitter or caustic or to be blunt when confronted with her opinion or thoughts on the matter. Showing softer emotions, such as a kindness is a sign of weakness and even when she is attempting to do something nice or wanting to help someone it may easily come across as if she would rather avoid it or just rude all together. Kynlei has no ill intentions towards her fellow riders, instead she would much rather play a more silent role in helping them to happiness or their continued existences. Underneath her exterior is someone who cares a lot for those around her, and rather gentle soul that occasionally needs a little push in the right direction.

History:
Kynlei has no memory of her parents, instead she remembers being rather hungry and doing whatever she could to steal to fill her belly in the streets of Nabol. Noticing her observant skills and rather sly skills in stealing, one of the leaders of a thieves group decided to take her in. He decided to raise her to be of use to their group while providing some sort of shelter over her head and a place she could have food as long as she worked for it. From there on Kynlei learned a lot of skills, mostly questionable ones that involved finding secrets for blackmail, stealing items people didn’t want missing, and causing discord among other groups. It wasn’t something she loved, it wasn’t even something she wanted to do all of her life but it was a life that she felt was dealt to her and it was her fate to live it.

That was until riders showed up, there was news about a an unaffiliated gold having a hatching at Fort Weyr and candidates who had some inkling of a chance to impressed were to come. Curiosity and a little hope filled for something new Kynlei devised a plan to allow herself to attend the hatching, under the guise of a mission to gather more intel for a client in order to attend. In full honesty all she wanted to see was the hatching, even if it meant having to sneak her way into the stands in order to watch without other members seeing her not doing her job. Much to her astonishment, and half the crowd, the small gold that hatched called out to her, beckoning her to the sands to be hers. It was a chance at something new, a way out and even more something that Kynlei never had, a real friend to lean on.

As soon as training at Fort Weyr was done Kynlei left, heading north with Fenhareth to avoid any trouble with her old life that would threaten their happy existences. From there they spent most of their time traveling, seeing the sights, meeting new people until the thread fell threatening all of Pern. Wanting to do whatever they could to help in stopping the thread, Kynlei and Fenhareth decided to go to High Reaches.

Physical Description: Fenhareth is a small gold, not while not impressive in size she is rather nimble and agile when it comes to maneuvers and flight. Her hide is a sun like gold with festive dark gold stripes along her back paired with dark gold wings.
Personality:
Fenhareth is fiercely protective of things she considers hers, protective of Kynlei and protective of any children no matter how far away they are from her or grown and independent they are, and protective of those she consider deep friends or relationships. She will boldly do whatever she can to protect or give them aid or give them advice to handle their own situations when need be and stick up for those she feels need them.

While she comes across to most of having a rather tough exterior topped with a habit of dishing out tough love, she is a huge softie underneath it all. She tends to play the role of Kynlei’s good side, always encouraging her to help others in need, to do things without asking, and even more so things that most would consider just respectful towards fellow riders. She tries to do what she can to push Kynlei to participate more with others instead of sneaking around, or just observing what others do, or getting by with the bare minimum.
