Medical | Genin | Arashigakure Doing some work for the hospital, Nagisa felt it was important for her to start really providing for Arashigakure's medical division in the best way she could. There were already many able and readied surgeons, so her best bet would be to be a fill in nurse. Using the diagnostic tools, she took the training suggestions Kagerou warned her of to heart. She could not always rely on chakra to solve all of her problems. She found a patient that needed a check up and began by first examining her with her eyes to see any redness or areas of swelling. Once there were no obvious places exterior problems, she started by taking a lens with a light to look at both of their eyes, and then in their ears. She looked inside their throat for infection using a wooden popsicle stick to push their non-relaxed tongue back. Next she examined her heartbeat to see if it was irrelegular using the stethoscope, and testing her reflexes by hitting both of her shins with a small hammer.
"Don't worry dear, you have nothing wrong with you, you are the picture of health." Taking out a pad and a pen, she then began to ask the patient a myriad of questions: How are you feeling? How are things at home? On a scale of one to ten do you feel depressed? That was when the patient explained that she had not been feeling mentally well. "Sometimes when my husband returns home from work... he can be very angry because he is not paid well enough. He yells a lot and the other night... he pushed me down." Nagisa took note of this clear evidence of domestic abuse as well as the need for her to see a counselor. Submitting the paperwork to a superior medical officer, she explained to the woman her options. "No, I uh... forget what I said. I just fell down." The embarrassed woman who felt shame was too proud to ask for help. There was nothing more Nagisa could do except for recommend her to see therapists.
There was a few hours of seemingly nothing, Nagisa had been tasked with filling out reports on various patients seen throughout the day. Many of the superior medical officers handed her their busy work as they could not be bothered and it was typical to make the new girl do all the extra work. She remembered this and hoped once she was in their position making all of the rules that she would not do this to the new girl just trying to establish herself. Filling in basic information from allergies to known family diseases was something Nagisa found not so riveting, however there was also a power to her understanding of this private information. She studied the information on the woman whom she had examined before and saw she was a teacher and a public figure. To think she had such a tragic situation at home was heartbreaking. She really wanted to go see her husband and give him a brutal wake up punch.

Medical | Genin | Arashigakure The following day, Nagisa was back to diagnosis work. However, this time around she would keep her chakra medical jutsu honed as well. Focusing chakra Nagisa began to scan a male patient for any apparent problems either exterior or interior. What Nagisa discovered was the man had a raised temperature that was on the verge of fever as well as some muscle spams in his right arm. Using her Temperature Control technique, she lowered the patient's temperature to a more safe level. Sure, she could use the conventional means such as wet rags and ice, but she wanted to ensure her medical jutsu were still very much up to par. Approaching his arm, Nagisa used a combined approach for this taking another lesson from Kagerou in implementation by acupuncture to relax the muscle, as well as using the Massage technique surrounding the area.
Following the man's now relaxed muscles, he had fallen asleep, so Nagisa was back to paperwork. The glories of documenting every single interaction with patients. There should be a recording jutsu that does all this mundane work for you. She filled out all of the applicable information from his name to his family health history. He was prescribed to take a lot of water for fluids and hydration as well as getting enough rest to fight off whatever sickness had been making him have these symptoms. Naturally, Nagisa's secondary job in this position was also to determine if individuals needed more urgent care, but most of the time they came to this medical tent without having an actually severe disease or infection.
One other part of these entry level medical missions involved cleansing patients. This was one part of the job that Nagisa particularly hated, since some people were actually more disgusting than imaginable. She had been tasked with cleaning this older man who essentially was so far gone he was soiling himself. Wouldn't it be more efficient to just put him out of his misery? He was never going to contribute to society again. Just be an old burden to his family and neighbors. As she washed down his back she kept her head tilted away so she did not have to gaze at his wrinkles and zit filled back from lack of proper washing. He had an infected blister on his feet that she had to heat a senbon to sterilize before emptying the puss from it. Nagisa really hated this part of the mission and wondered if all the doctors were here at one point in their career.
The woman from the other day returned to the tent for another check up as she had been feeling quite sick lately. After doing her routine examination, Nagisa found some puzzling discoveries. Apparently, the woman had not had her monthly punishment cycle for two months. And she was getting sick in the morning. Furthermore, her body appeared to be undergoing some changes which all aligned with symptoms attributed to pregnancy. Nagisa did not feel comfortable telling the woman what she was discovering, so she directed her to a more practiced and experienced doctor. That doctor was able to perform an ultrasound on her and confirmed Nagisa's suspicions. Thanks to her speedy recommendation, the woman found out she had been pregnant for some time. Nagisa was somewhat happy that it was a simple process for her to get the help she needed.

Ondochousetsu [ Temperature Control ] Rank: X (Learned as C) Official Description: Normal body temperature can be disrupted for one reason or another and this technique is used to restore it. It can be used to treat abnormally high or low body temperatures either by using chakra to infuse the patients body with heat or by using chakra to siphon off excess heat. It is not required for the medical nin to continue to use this technique in order for it to be effective but unless the cause of the abnormal body temperature is solved then it will occur again over time. Shiatsu [ Massage ] Rank: E Official Description: For a variety of reasons, muscles, tendons, and ligaments can become overworked and painful. This may be because some type of injury occurred or it may simply be the result of too much work without enough rest. By applying the proper amount of pressure at the right pressure points, and using small amounts of chakra, a medical nin is able to relieve pain and help a patient's body recover more quickly. A strain or sprain can seriously hinder the effectiveness of a shinobi and as such this technique really can make a difference. Guild Description: See the official description. Medical | Genin | Arashigakure As her work continued, Nagisa had her first ultra busy day. Oddly enough, it was all women patients in her tent. One of them had never been seen by a medical trained employee for many years. Taking her updated information, Nagisa had found her family history indicated a high chance of blindness. She had examined the woman's sight with a few tests, testing for decaying blindness as well as colorblindness. The woman did indicate reduced vision especially at distances which were further away. "So, ma'am, you may have struggled to see signs and things that are farther in distance?" The woman replied and nodded in agreement, "Ah, yes sometimes I cannot see very far." Nagisa recommended she have customized glasses be made for her to improve her way of life. Glasses were not something to be ashamed of as they were quite common. If Nagisa had poor vision and was not blessed with the beautiful eyes she had been born with there was definitely a possibility that she would of taken glasses.
The next patient explained that they were experiencing itching and rashes that were hard to ignore on her palms. She worked as a botanist and Nagisa suspected one of the plants she was working with may have been one carrying spores that could cause a reaction. Prescribing her some simply medication, Nagisa suggested she avoid touching the plant for a few days and see if the swelling reduces as well as to keep the palms clean. Nagisa demonstrated this cleaning process to make sure that she understood clearly. If the palms got infected further from neglect things could get exponentially worse for the woman. She also requested a sample of the plant be brought to the medical tent for examination to ensure this was not merely the first symptoms of something far worse. This would be sent to the research section in the area as Nagisa was not quite in that work as of this moment. Understanding the sample would take a few days to process, Nagisa would dig herself into the remaining patients of the day. From here on there would be two sisters that seemed to request to be seen together and not separate under any circumstand. How odd. Why would anyone want to be that close to their family? I hate being around my mom.
The final patients were sisters and wanted to be seen simultaneously as they did not keep anything from one another. Nagisa saw this as an admirable trait. Examining them both, she noted that they seemed to be the picture of health. From their heart beat to their responses in reflex, it was uncanny how similar they were. Feeling that they were good to go she gave them a thumbs up to indicate they passed the examination well. What was more odd was as they headed out, she watched them meet up with a single man who wrapped his arm around the both of them. It was seem they shared literally everything including their romantic relationships. Finishing up more paperwork for this position, Nagisa was happy to see that she was starting to be able to fill in parts of it faster and easier since she was starting to really get the hang of things.

Medical | Genin | Arashigakure Nagisa had been called to meet up with an upper class family. The woman had been suffering from severe back pain which was causing her to be unable to work her shop. Spending some time travelling, Nagisa had priorly looked up the family's medical history to see if there was any evidence of a history of back pain related problems. So far, it did not appear so, nonetheless Nagisa spent this time looking into the issue to ensure that she was not missing anything. Once she arrived at the location, she was allowed inside and approached the woman on the bed. "Tell me where it hurts exactly." Nagisa stated, as the woman rolled over and pointed to her mid spine. Nagisa studied the area carefully using the Diagnosis technique to carefully scan. It was imperative that she be able to fully understand that this is not some kind of infection but merely pain caused from something specific.
Placing her hand gently against the area, the lady winced and Nagisa could tell from the redness that something was amiss here. Using her ability to diagnose a problem at this point it became apparent the problem was a mixture of inflammation from the muscles as well as a damage bone perhaps a disc was being crushed from pressure. She began by attempting to remove some of the irritation using the Massage technique. Then Nagisa used Muscle Relaxant to further relax the tense area. She would begin healing the woman's damaged spine with the Bone Healer Skill. The procedure took some time, but the woman was now feeling less pain. She would need to rest to make it disappear permanently. "Make sure you drink up plenty of water and stay away from strenuous labor. I recommend you use your son to do any lifting for a while. But, you should be fine."

Medical | Genin | Arashigakure Taking a different position than her regular work, Nagisa had moved onto something that far more interested her. Research. For Nagisa, the knowledge and understanding of the secrets of the world mattered. She began to study the advanced applications of using sub temperature freezing from water style to assist in preserving organs for implant procedures. While a radical idea, Nagisa believed it was highly counterproductive to have to constantly purchase preserving fluid for implantation. Furthermore, what if a combat situation suddenly afforded an opportunity then and there, but no one thought ahead to have a way to preserve the sample or organ in question. She began her research by first observing the core ability of the water style Water Manipulation.
Water can be either heated or cooled to a boiling or freezing point. Unlike the ice style, it takes a bit of time to cool the area. Nagisa's idea was simple but would require the simultaneous combination of water style freezing and the sealing of the organ or sample which possessed the bloodline implant after being frozen. The Medical Water Style: Jellyfish was a storage technique designed to store medical techniques for later use. Nagisa desired a way to utilize this storage mechanism as a way to instead of storing techniques, rather the frozen organ or sample. Nagisa was beginning to wonder if this was perhaps too much to do in a single technique and would rather need to create two separate techniques in order to make this happen.
By having the ability to freeze organs and samples for later use it would give medical shinobi a cheap alternative to needing the preserving fluid. Furthermore, it would give in combat shinobi the chance to secure secret bloodlines for implanting on those who need them in the village a new possibility. Nagisa began to write down her theoretical technique's merit and its value so that it could be submitted to the other researchers for testing and validation. If her idea were to prove something to be actualized she could go so far as to make an applicable ability for her own usage in the future. After all, Nagisa considered providing implantation services for profit as it would be something quite common, but the knowledge of doing so would be in the rare few who possessed the ability to learn such secrets.
She also desired to further research the forbidden seal technique. While transforming one's entire body was an ideal advantage, the ability to further augment specific areas with forced nature control was of interest to her. She wished to devise the idea of partial forbidden seal release on the arms and legs. This would be in combination with advanced chakra control and corrupted nature manipulation. Using what information was available, she began to compile notes and research on anyone who has been known to possess a curse mark and its effects. To Nagisa being able to bring out parts of the curse mark instead of an entire transformation seemed to be a practical application, after all perhaps a combat situation did not call upon drawing the entire force of the curse mark. Nagisa was thoroughly aware that her peers feared what the true potential this technique could provide. She truly felt not enough research had gone into the curse mark manipulation and study. Only research to make people steer clear and avoid its strength and infinite potential.
Truth be told she needed more applicable research from obtaining the scroll itself. Eventually she needed to contact the Arashikage to borrow it, but for now relying on research and secondary information was all she could do. Nagisa proceeded to start writing the information into case studies regarding those who have succeeded the transformation and those who failed. Commonly, it was apparent that only older bodies and those who were strong of will survived curse mark transformations. Perhaps even this lesser application could be utilized to assist children in receiving a lesser curse mark that would be able to further their horizons of power. Naturally, she knew her peers would disagree with a radical proposal such as this. But, this research would likely open some doors for her.
Medical | Genin | Arashigakure Taking a break from her research work, Nagisa returned to the field to begin conducting diagnosis work on patients. While the kind of work that many looked down upon, Nagisa had come to accept this as a regular part of the job. However, she began to request more mental involved patients as she felt she had an unnatural ability to get to the mind. Her first patient was a young individual whom had a bad case of schizophrenia, often claiming they could hear 'the voices' calling to them to do bad and otherwise sinister things. "And what kind of things do they tell you to do?" She asked the patient, the man looking at her and rocking back and forth in the chair. "Sometimes... they tell me to strangle my kids. Because, my kids make too much noise." Nagisa smirked and responded, "Are you sure you're hearing voices telling you that, and this isn't some kind of latent secret desire you are projecting?" The man looked stunned that she would say something like this. It felt just a tad bit unfair for her to say.
Using Diagnosis: Mental State, Nagisa understood that it was a real mental issue he was having. As she continued studying him, she used her Mental Medicine technique to begin giving him a miniature therapy session. After all the key to dealing with problems such as this was to attack the issue directly. As she addressed his inner demon, Nagisa explained he needed to meditate and constantly suppress his emotions. To overcome this mental challenge would require consistent work and it was clear that it would also need the assistance of medication. This was almost also a therapeutic situation for herself. Maybe this was what Nagisa really wanted to do in the hospital. Instead of purely being a surgeon or researcher, she seemed to have a knack for psychiatry. This was also why the hospital had new medical kunoichi working on various methodology in medicine so that they could make a decision on which area they really wished to be part of.
She proceeded to take on the next patient, the woman whom she had worked with before going through some domestic abuse at home. Nagisa was more careful with her words this time around, as it was a very sensitive issue. "How are you doing, miss?" She asked the patient whom had come to the office with a black eye and what looked like a hood because she did not want anyone to see the damage she was receiving. "I... I fell again." She quietly responded, Nagisa proceeding to get some water and cotton to wipe away at the sore area. "You can be strong, you know that right? You aren't alone." Nagisa explained to the woman, "I can get you some help and you can get out of that house with your kids." The woman paused, staring at her with eyes that were of both hope and fear. The woman seemed to be considering it as Nagisa used Mental Medicine to further ease her worries. Pulling a doctor to the side, Nagisa spoke on behalf of the woman so something could be done, promising the doctor if they did nothing, she would take it in her own hands. Which from Nagisa meant dangerous.
Medical | Genin | Arashigakure Nagisa was going to continue practicing her psychiatry and therapy sessions with various people of Arashigakure. However, she intended to have more objects that can be used for people to feel more relaxed in the office she was occupying. She began by cleaning her space to ensure it was not somewhere people could get sick. Wiping all the surfaces and places clean linen on the bed was done. She even swept and mopped the floor, dusting the windows and the bookshelf. Grabbing some blocks for kids to play with as well as toy shinobi figures and cards, she also found magazines for her room.
Her first patient today was in fact a small girl. She seemed to be struggling with paying attention to things her parents were teaching her, but her parents believed she was simply ignoring them. Studying the girl at this moment, Nagisa began to piece together the real picture here. As when Nagisa interacted with the girl and showed her the blocks asking her to build a tower, the tower was built without questions asked. Prescribing some medication for assisting with her mental attention, Nagisa wrote down that the girl simply had a very wild imagination and required medication to focus on tasks which was normal especially during early development. She could easily grow out of her problem.
The next patient was an older woman and Nagisa actually needed to perform a wellness exam on her, so she proceeded to begin cleaning all of her tools. Steralization of tools was critical so that during the examination no one could risk being cross contaminated by the tools that have been used on others. Studying this woman would take some time as she had to look at her psychic and physical statistics. And having these tools prepared as well as the room nice and clean would help the woman feel a lot more comfortable. That was what Nagisa was all about comfort and assisting someone to feel as though they are part of the process themselves. The woman was much older, but oddly had a very good health after checking everything including her heart. However, Nagisa noted her degrading hearing which was also something associated with old age. Asked about her time at home the older woman did mention she wished her.
Following the patient, Nagisa had a period of time to herself to begin writing about her days results and what had happened. She first proceeded to cleanse and steralize all of her objects that were involved. Going to the closet she even put her lab coat into a laundry basket and took a new one as she had been sweating from hours of work. Washing her hands, Nagisa made sure that the room was clean. Someone had left some trash near the table and the bed, so she picked it up and put it away. Keeping the room clean was one part of her job here and although it was not the best part of the job, it was a part of the job that people cannot just ignore.
Taking out her pad, Nagisa began to write down the various information from the previous patients. Looking at their medical history, she examined family problems and any history in the family of medical complications that could happen. She marked down for the girl that she had been prescribed medication to assist in her focusing and she wrote that the parents needed to be alerted to the fact it was not the girl's fault or a failure of their parenting but simply a way of how her mind had been built. The girl needed to be properly cared for like any girl. Nagisa made sure to note that the older woman was oddly in perfect shape and health and a prime example how to care for oneself into older age to last the longest. You are in fact as young as you keep yourself. She thought with a cold smirk.
After her break, the next patient came in, a man who had explained he was suicidal. He hated who he was and felt that his family did not care for him at all. Listening to his small life story, Nagisa took the man's hand. She explained to him, "I know it feels like you are alone and no one is there for you, but this is simply untrue. You are a good soul. I am sure someone cares a great deal for you." After she consoled him and performed Mental Medicine, Nagisa got him on some antidepressant medication. And she put in for a request that his family be made aware of his mental sickness. When his daughter found out, she immediately contacted Nagisa and came to see her dad and showed him that she did care for him. It was heartwarming to say the least. To finish out her day, Nagisa had proceeded to cleanse and steralize the area as she had done so many times before. It was important that this be done for the next person to take over for her.
