Click to show. The four Japanese men ignored Marcel at first, three of them joking about the last man’s lack of lock picking skills while they stood by and watched him try to get into the car. Any bystanders immediately began to ignore the scene and went on with their evening, not wanting to have anything to do with these strange humans and their unneeded drama. It a few seconds after his warning for them to stop what they were doing and give him their attention, each and every one of them sizing the Hispanic up. They broke into a quick and whispered conversation amongst themselves.
“Boss said just to grab anyone coming out of the hospital. He’ll do, right?” One man asked, three of them turning to face the fourth who looked to be the oldest out of the group. The older one stared Marcel directly in the eyes for a moment, his own flashing entirely black for a split second, before he shook his head. The others groaned, letting it be known they were tired of waiting around for the hospital for someone to come out.
”He’s human. Weak and our boss is tired of toys that break too easily.” The apparent ring leader explained as he motioned for the other men to follow him and walked ahead. They followed, one of them rudely bumping into Marcel with a chuckle on his way passed although it was the next two that started the trouble at one whispered word from their leader. They split apart as they reached him, one going to either side of him before they went for their attack. The one on the right suddenly threw a fist for the veteran’s face while the one on the left went for his side and the third, deciding he didn’t want to be left out, attempted to jump on his back and tightly wrap his arms around his neck.

It didn’t take long for Virgil to start feeling antsy as he tried to watch the show. He was familiar with it from months he’d spent here before, but the plotline was so insane that he had no idea what the hell had happened between then and now. Maybe things would be better if he got high? It couldn’t hurt to take the edge off and there was no harm in it since Marcel wasn’t around to witness him turning into a big sappy mess. This time when he hit the device, he took a very small hit. Needless to say, the man had learned his lesson earlier and decided that baby steps were the best way to get back into his side hustle as a stoner. Once he had a slight buzz, he put the pen down and carefully got out of bed with plans of going to the bathroom to smoke. Only he didn’t make it and was instead distracted by a sight out of his room’s window. That beautiful blue vehicle was the last thing he expected to see and he approached the window with hopes of catching one last glimpse of his beloved for the night. He did, though not in the way he had thought or wanted. His stomach dropped as he laid his eyes on the sight of Marcel squaring off against four men. Virgil was too far away to see their expressions and he certainly couldn’t hear them, but he could make a good guess by his veteran’s posture that he was unhappy. He could only imagine the world of trouble those men had landed themselves in for messing with the convertible. He didn’t know what was happening between them, exactly, but the small group was some cause for alarm. Only two types of people wore matching suits, school students and criminal gangs, and the men didn’t look young enough to pass for high school students. He growled as the group started to move.”Marcel.” He sternly barked even though he knew he wouldn’t be heard as he smacked a hand against the glass. Bad Marcel! He just needed to get his butt back inside and let the police deal with this if there was indeed something to deal with. Virgil drew back from the window as three of them attacked his boyfriend. Honestly, their move was uncoordinated and it was like watching a group of juvenile hyenas try to take down a zebra. Something he should logically know the veteran could handle, but he couldn’t simply stand by and watch. Turning away from the window, he ran for the door. Or at least would have if he was his normal healthy self. Right now, his movements were more akin to a quick shambling walk but he was going as fast as he could under the circumstances.

Marcel's eyes narrowed a bit as it seemed these men were making the terrible mistake of ignoring the Hispanic, even going as far was joking about picking his car's locks. Oh they did not actually try and pick his car locks, that kind of s**t could seriously damage the key hole! However it seemed like the Hispanic finally got their attention as glare only intensified as they blatantly sized him up, thinking they could handle him. Once they started whispering amongst themselves he was able to just barely hear their conversation as they weren't being very stealthy about it. Anyone coming out of the Hospital? Well it was a damn good thing it was Marcel and not any of the patients or staff who had come out from the building then. The Veteran would meet the oldest one's gaze as his dark browns met the others eyes, however he didn't miss the secondary change to black although he wasn't sure if they actually did or if it was a trick of the light. However at this point he wouldn't doubt it if he did in fact see the man's eyes turn black, everything he knew was turned upside down only a couple days ago. Marcel would then glare a bit, this ******** just had the audacity to call him weak. Oh he'd regret that. However he kept his composure well enough that when the other bumped into the Hispanic he simply let out a small grunt of irritation. It was then that Marcel saw what they were doing and it was so pathetic, surround on all sides and swarm the one person. It was the oldest trick in the book and while it may work on most people, Marcel wasn't most people. The moment the man on the right threw the first punch the former Lieutenant wasted no time in narrowly dodging the punch and grabbing onto his arm before using the momentum of his swing to throw him directly into the man on the left, sending them both down to the ground. Marcel's trained sixth sense kicked in for a moment as he crouched low and swung his elbow backwards, directly into the jumping man's gut to knock the air out of his lungs. Once he was winded Marcel would proceed to turn around and grab both sides of his head while he was doubled over and brought his head down onto his now raised knee, smashing it into his jaw and kicking him to the ground. He would then turn to their ring leader, the steel dog tags having come out from under his shirt and now glistened in the light of the street lamps as they rested against his chest "I'll give you four one last chance to walk away and get out of my sight" he was just deciding to be nice this one last time, giving them one more chance to try and leave this area and get out of the Hispanic's sight. By this point in his life however, Marcel knew better than to expect anyone to just walk away and he was more than ready to kick their asses over and over again until they wouldn't be able to get up anymore.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Virgil managed to make it about five feet out into the hallway before he ran into his nurse. He scowled as Kouji moved to block his path and told him to go back to his room. Nope, that wasn’t going to happen. He shoved his way passed him only for the brat to grab onto his arms and jerked him to a stop. ”Get th’ ******** offa me!” He snapped louder than he meant to as he jerked his arm free, drawing far more attention to him than he wanted. All of a sudden there were too many hands reaching for him. He did his best to knock them away while he continued to push his way forward, but for each one he managed to escape from it seemed there were two more reaching for him. It didn’t take long for the commotion to bring the doctor and one of the guards into the hallway. The orc wasted no time in grabbing him and lifting him up to a shoulder as if he didn’t weigh a damn thing. He groaned as a horrid wave of vertigo washed over him with the quick motion of being lifted, taking what strength he had out of him with it. Dr. Tasuki looked up at him with an amused smile. ”If this doesn’t prove to you you’re not in any condition to leave us then I don’t know what will. What were you trying to accomplish, anyway?”

Virgil picked up his head to look at the other man, his eyes widening as he remembered why he’d gone out into the hall in the first place. The guard only tightened her grip on him as he tried to squirm free. ”People out there tryin’a ******** with Marcel.” He finally snarled out as he still kept trying to struggle out of the orc’s grasp, even go as far as to drive as knee into her chest although it only brought a chuckle from the female. Goddamn it. Just…goddamn it. Why was he so weak?! Tasuki sent his grandson of all people to go see what the problem could be before he stepped closer and quickly stuck their patient in the neck with a hypodermic syringe to inject him with a drug that would knock him out. ”You should have done that to begin with.” Kouji grumbled out as he walked by, going to tell the guard at the front desk to go see what the problem was so he wouldn’t have to.

Tthe two men collided together and collapsed to the concrete in a tangle of limbs, every foul word known to man coming from them as they fought to get back onto their feet, too busy to notice that their other friend had suffered a far less pleasant fate. He went down quickly, moaning in pain as he clutched his jaw. Needless to say, he wasn’t going to be getting up again any time soon. Their so-called leader watched it all with an amused look on his features, which soon became one of devious delight once he saw the dog tags hanging around his neck. ”Impressive. We could use more people like you.” The first two men stood up though they were hesitant to attack the Hispanic and eyed him warily. ”We could use more people like you.” The oldest one stepped forward, extending a hand out toward Marcel although, before he could reach him, the security guard came bursting through the front doors. The beefy man no longer looked human, his skin now a grayish green hue and his face more piggish with a set of small tusks jutting out from his lower jaw. ”How many times do I have to tell you to stop coming around here? GET THE HELL OUT!” The guard practically roared at them as he started to cross the busy street to get to them, which had the two taking off running after helping the third man to his feet. “No one ******** with the Amari and gets away with it!” The one with the busted jaw tried to shout back over a shoulder, though the threat came out horribly slurred. ”It’s been a pleasure. I look forward to seeing you again in the future.” He happily bid him farewell as he left, not wasting any time to blend in with the crowd right before the guard reached them. “Goddamn yakuza riffraff.” He spat on the ground as he stared after them for a moment before he turned to look at Marcel. ”You too, human.” He waved at hand at him in a shooing motion. ”Get out of here and stop making the little dog man crazy.”

Marcel wasn't even surprised by how easy it was for him to dispatch the three men who had the audacity to try and attack him. He watched with a cold gaze as the man on the ground groaned in pain, served him right for trying to attack him in the first place. Once he turned his gaze onto the fourth man his eyes narrowed as he saw the look on his face, oh so this ******** thought this was funny? Oh he'd wipe that look off his face! However as the other man spoke Marcel would openly scoff at his words, oh spare him. A lot of people could use someone like him, to bad his services were not going to be available ever again. Once he saw the older man begin to approach him with his extended hand Marcel was about ready to to snatch that hand and slam him into the cold, hard concrete. However the loud rumbling sound of the doors being slammed open caught his attention and snapped him clean out of his zone as he saw the large...orc!? Oh wow. That's a real life orc. He watched as the large beast of a man bellowed a mighty roar at the men and he watched as three immediately began to scamper off like scared kittens. Go figure, they were cowards. How shocking. He only glared as the injured man slurred out something that was probably supposed to be a threat, only getting the name 'Amari' out of it. However it seemed that the fourth man seemed to be much more brave as he stood by for an extra moment to speak to the Hispanic which caused him to glare "Can't share the sentiment" he managed get out before the man vanished into the crowds. Hopefully he wouldn't have to deal with those ******** again tomorrow on his next visit to the Hospital. Meanwhile he turned to the orc who unknowingly filled him in on who those men were "Yakuza? Tch..." clearly they needed to get better men because those three were utter pushovers. Or maybe Marcel was just in a league of his own, either way that was laughable at best. The Hispanic would then regard the other, much taller, and larger man when he spoke to him and made him blink. Making the dog man go crazy? Oh no... "Dammit Virgil..." he must have seen those four men and panicked but...dammit didn't he remember what the Hispanic was capable of? Great to know he caused such a stir over something so tiny "Um...Sorry for the trouble but uh...thanks for shooing them off" honestly Marcel would have been more than happy to beat them to a pulp before leaving them in the Hospital parking lot but he supposed that wouldn't be happening now. With that he would nod to the orc before walking over to his car, stopping only to check out and see if they had damaged anything. Thankfully nothing was harmed and the Hispanic would waste no time in getting into his care and starting the engine before pulling out of the parking lot and began making his way out of the area. The rest of the drive he strummed his fingers in irritation against the steering wheel, something about those men rubbed him the wrong way. They were hanging around outside a hospital to kidnap someone it seemed and they didn't seem to care about specifics, they just wanted someone who wasn't a human which put everyone there at some level of risk. But thankfully enough it seemed well guarded at the very least which was why they were probably hanging around the parking lot. It was a good thing Virgil didn't try to follow him at least, he would be in no condition to fight them off and with what happened to him in the past the Hispanic figured it was for the best.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The orc shrugged off the apology. Simply guarding a hospital could be a rather dull job for a war-like race such as theirs so he didn’t mind the distraction. He would wait around until Marcel was driving away before going back inside to let the others know that everything had been taken care of outside.

Virgil was so focused on getting away and getting outside that he didn’t realize what was happening to him until it was too late. He swore softly underneath his breath as the needle penetrated his skin and tried to jerk away, but the drug was injected before he could. ”Ya evil son of…” His voice slurred to an end as the drug kicked in and he fell unconscious, going limp over the guard’s shoulder. She carried him back to his room and laid him down on the mattress before neatly tucking him back in. Thanks to the cocktail of sleeping medication in his system, he was out for a few hours. He might have completely slept through the night if it wasn’t for his body trying to change on its own again. The sharp pain twisting through his arm had him jerking out of his out his sleep with a sharp gasp. A guttural growl came for him as he rolled over and fought against the transformation. He was able to stop it this time around and remain in his human form. A slow process that was exceedingly painful though he knew it was a good sign. He was regaining his control and that meant what remained of the antidote lingering in his system was finally starting to fade. He could only hope it would be over with by the time the sun rose so he could get the hell out of this damn place and go home to relax in a far more comfortable bed. His eyes suddenly snapped open as thinking of their apartment gave him a rather jarring reminder what he’d been trying to do before he had gotten knocked out. Beginning to panic over Marcel’s fate, he pushed himself up in preparation to get out of bed. Just as he swung his legs over the edge, he noticed a neon yellow piece of paper folded on the side table near his bed. Picking it up, the werewolf read the neatly written note. Your man is fine. I hear he’s a badass too! -Miu Virgil relaxed after reading the message though he had no idea who this Miu could be until he remembered the house keeper’s name tag. A brow rose when he noticed a second message under the first. P.S. Be a good boy and stay in bed! He rolled his eyes as he balled the note up and tossed it into the trash. Why did people have to refer to him as some damn mutt?! He almost wanted to get out of the bed just to spite the hospital’s staff although he actually wouldn’t do such a thing. There was no point in wasting any of his energy on doing something that wouldn’t help him in the end. It was probably better to lay back down and rest, which he did the first part. Rest would come later once he found something on the television to listen to since the channel he’d left it on earlier was now playing late night infomercials.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. After what seemed like ages of channel flipping Virgil settled on a talent show. All talents were welcomed by the way the show’s host talked but most of the contestants chose to belt out their own covers of popular songs over the years. A good many of them were pretty decent, but he didn’t think there was anyone in particular that stood out for the crowd and deserved a record deal. Some silly game show came on next once the first one ended and after ten minutes of it, he found himself becoming mind-numbingly bored. He didn’t understand how Marcel was able to sit and do this for hours on end. In fact, he was almost certain that was probably what the insomniac was doing right at that moment. And he would bet good money that the former soldier was probably enjoying the peace and quiet and not having any of his usual smart-a** commentary about the stuff they watched together. For a man who was quite adept to the life of a loner, not having a familiar face around to talk to pass the time was making his overnight stay worse. It made him wonder exactly how he’d made it through last time although he soon came to a logical conclusion. He hadn’t been in love last time he was here and the combination of painkillers and sedatives had kept him under most of the time so there he didn’t have the opportunity to crave companionship back then. Changing the channel again, he was pleasantly surprised to find a special featuring traditional Japanese dancing. He had no idea what the dancers on the screen were trying to portray, but it was entertaining to watch and their graceful movements along with the peaceful music were soothing overall. Still, no matter how interested he was in it, the lycan ended up passing out again just a few short minutes into it thanks to how calm it had made him feel.

Virgil didn’t stir again for the rest of the night and might have remained asleep through the morning if it wasn’t for his stomach loudly growling. Instant regret hit him for not listening to his lover and not finishing his meal last night, the gnawing sensation as his empty stomach rumbled yet again. It had him instantly reaching out for one of the leftover bags of chips though his fingers touched something hard instead. Sitting up, he grinned at the sight of the covered tray and wasted no time in uncovering it. His grin faltered at the large bowl of rice mixed with pieces of fish that greeted him. Once more, he went for the side dish of fresh fruit first and ate it while looking at the rice in absolute disgust. The brute would have died happy if he’d never have to see ******** rice ever again but, here it was, serving as a terrible reminder of his time spent as a captive of the yakuza. They hadn’t added fish to it, of course, and had only fed him when they felt like bothering with feeding him but it was enough for him to associate the grain with the experience. However, the fruit was hardly enough to even take a small edge off his hunger and he soon found himself contemplating over eating the rice once he’d polished off the sweet snack. With a great deal of hesitance, Virgil picked up the bowl and chopsticks. His hands began to shake as he took the first bite though he couldn’t bring himself to swallow it. The rice tasted fine, honestly, although his brain managed to trick him into detecting a trace bitterness of wolfsbane. The bowl and chopsticks tumbled from his fingers just before he quickly got out of the bed and made a desperate dash for the bathroom, barely making it to the sink in time before he lost the fight against his stomach and threw up into it. It was hardly anything, luckily, but he stood there retching for a moment as his body tried to expel everything inside of it. He was reduced to a little more than a pale and quivering wreck once it subsided, his white-knuckle grip on the counter the only thing keeping him up. He turned on the cold water to clean the sink and wash out his mouth, his movements slow and methodical as he concentrated overly hard on what he was doing. Virgil didn’t know what was worse, vomiting or not know exactly why. He hadn’t woken up feeling nauseous. Maybe the association was a lot stronger than he’d thought? Wondering over it was a lot better than simply acknowledging the memory of actually being poisoned before. Turning off the faucet, he moved to take of his boxers and turn on the shower. It was time to get ready and get the ******** out of here.

Shutting off the shower, Virgil stepped out and toweled off the best he could before he walked into the main room and over to where he’d stashed his clothes. Given how much he’d sweating throughout the night, he wasn’t about to put his boxers back on so he decided to go without them no matter how much he disliked the feeling. Once he got dressed, he moved over to the door and cracked it open to listen to the sounds out into the hallway before he walked out. His anxiety about leaving the place, managing to make it all the way to the front desk where he greeted a rather tired nurse. One who, thankfully, didn’t ask any questions when he asked to be discharged and handed over his paperwork without comment. A smirk stole across his lips as he made his way outside, almost finding it hard to believe that leaving the hospital was this simple. Not that Virgil was going to go back inside and ask around and find out if he actually needed to talk to the doctor or anything! ******** that mess!

The street was empty once more just as it had been the previous day but that didn’t mean that he wasn’t on high alert for the group of hoodlums from last night. The brute wasn’t back to a hundred percent, but he would be damned if anyone was going to take advantage of his weakened state. As long as he could stay on his feet then he would be alright although the short trip to his truck was uneventful. He sat there for a moment after getting in behind the wheel to collect his bearings before he finally started to drive away as his phone began to ring. Thinking it was Marcel, he pulled it out in preparation to answer only to freeze when he saw the name on the caller ID. Dr. Tasuki? Yeah, no. He wasn’t about to answer that. He tossed his phone into the passenger seat and continued onward, ignoring the device ringing next to him. By the third time, he completely shut his phone off. On his way out of town, he stopped by a fast food joint and ordered twenty bucks worth of their cheapest cheeseburgers to eat on the way home. Quality really didn’t matter to him right at that moment, he just wanted to get something into his stomach. It wasn’t like he would be tasting much of it with the way he ate. He already planned on cooking something a hell of a lot better once he got back to the apartment and had the opportunity to stop by the grocery store. There were some recipes he wanted to make that he was sure Marcel didn’t have stashed away somewhere in the fridge.

Said store was the first stop he made upon making it back to the town they lived in an hour later. The slowest shopping trip he’d had in a long time even though he was only purchasing a few items to make one meal with. A meal with several dishes involved, but still! It wasn’t as if he was buying the whole damn store although it certainly felt as if he was with how long it was taking him to get what he wanted. Eventually, he did manage to collect everything he needed for later and made his way to the cash register and checked out. It wasn’t until he reached the apartment complex that he realized he didn’t have a key and he could vividly remember his boyfriend locking the place any time they left it. A groan left Virgil as he laid his head back against the headrest at the realization. True, he was skilled with lockpicking but he hardly had the mental energy required for such a feat. Sleeping in his truck until Marcel came back crossed his mind but he quickly decided against it. He wanted a proper bed. Air conditioning! It was starting to look like he was going to half to go to the school in order to borrow the keys.
