tab Lahlil come stepping through the hospital doors still clutching the vial of her mother's blood in her hands. She didn't know what drove her to it but she knew that she wanted it as.. well an implant. Maybe it had to do with some lost little girl syndrome, still wanting to have some kind of connection to a parent who never wanted her. Or maybe she was just sick and tired of others calling the shots for her. It didn't really matter to her at that moment. All Lahlil knew was what she wanted and how to get it done before anything else, by grace she hadn't even bothered to clean herself up first and here she was now! Plodding through her village with blood soaked clothes and makeup that had long since been stained by tears. None of that mattered to her in the moment however, and with all the grace of a mindless zombie Lahlil began calling for the only person she knew she could get to shove this blood in her vein. "Kagerou! ...Are you in here? I need you...please" Her croaky voice garnered some startled reactions from those around her but many of these quickly avoided direct eye contact once they realized that it was the Hokage herself.

                                                        _✧ Blood Moon Magic
____✦ Use of blood as a component can be quite costly no matter who or what you are, but the Saiketsu learned that their own Chakra need not be the only fuel for their jutsu. Especially when it is so abundant. Blood Moon Magic allows a Saiketsu user to use the opponent's blood rather than just their own to fuel techniques the Saiketsu user uses so long as it's no longer in contact with the opponent's body and has been around for one post. Taking this Pa will grant a pair of fangs hearkening to the day of the blood moon and while not necessary will come with possible vampiric tendencies. Grants access to Kenketsu, and Chi - Saikuru.

                                                        _✧ Parlor Tricks
____✦ Lahlil has become so mastered at the use of fuuninjutsu that whenever she casts a use of flying thunder god or the fuunin specific shuushin, she may leave behind or have placed at her transported location, a fuunin seal from the another ability placed automatically. This essentially changes the casting location for the paired ability while still consuming an activation and chakra. To be clear this PA makes it so that as long as she has the activation and resources to do so, Lahlil can simultaneously cast another fuunin with flying thunder god or the fuunin shuushin.

                                                        _✧ Shared Information
____✦ All information gathered by anyone who is a part of the telepathic network is shared with the group, not just that by the Yamanaka. This does require the Sensing Transmission technique from below.

                                                        _✧ Studious Scholar
____✦ Seals that otherwise deal with the ( physical ) sealing/entrapment of an individual now require 1.25x the cost in order to free oneself once trapped. This cost is applied only through an added resource count, and any situation that would otherwise require a ranked amount cannot be increased to the next rank. (i.e. assuming one has fallen victim to an A rank fuunin sealing of the body, chakra expelled in resource calculations would 80 times 1.25 = 100, but this would not otherwise require the use of an S ranked release method. Instead this extra chakra can simply be paid alongside the inital A ranked release.)

                                                        _✧ Peerless Summoner
____✦ You are more specialized in summoning and sealing than sensory. You are allowed to have a mirrored amount of your total ninjutsu slots granted by this class exclusively reserved for sealing. In addition, all sealing techniques are considered overwhelming when in collision with other techniques of the same rank. This benefit only applies to techniques S-ranked and below. Finally, if you are able to summon any contract summon regardless of a bloodline connection of a signed user of a summoning contract you are able to summon beings at one rank lower than normally required and 50 chakra and stamina is granted to them per rank of the summoned creature starting at 50 for D-Rank and ending with 250 for the boss summon, or 300 if a mythical summon is contracted. The user's summoned creatures are able to use any ninjutsu the user has access to that they share an element for as well as any genjutsu, taijutsu, and bukijutsu. Your summoned creature's unique techniques are considered overwhelming at S-rank and below in collisions.

                                                        ____✦ Somnifarious Sight
_✧ Latent vampiric powers from the Bat Lord have manifested inside Lahlil despite his death. As such Lahlil has found herself now able to replace the use of handseals with subtle eye movement. This still takes the same amount of time to perform as normal handseals.

                                                        ____✦ Battlefield Presence
_✧ he user's powerful presence on the battlefield strikes terror into their foes. Opponents are able to sense the user's terrifying fighting spirit five feet from the user per body rank of the user through chakra sense. Those within range can have this radiating fearful aura become the trigger for genjutsu, allowing genjutsu to be cast by acknowledging the user. In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no activation for that specific instance of kai.

                                                        ____✦ Infinite Perception
_✧ Your specialty is more in sensory than in sealing or summoning. You are able to discover things such as demon chakra, or the type of technique that is about to be active (Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, etc.), even specifics such as Bloodline type and rank from any active sensory technique. This discipline allows the user to be able to sense their enemy’s ninjutsu attacks and their composition, which grants a -2 rank reduction to dodging with the dodge mechanic X-ranked skill so long as it was used within the range of the user’s sensory abilities. You can release yourself from genjutsu at one rank lower in kai chakra release but with no benefit in pain release. In addition, the user's sensory abilities are extended fifty feet per rank of the technique. As a master tracker, you can advance in the ninja hunter and special ops careers for half as many Oinin Butai and ANBU missions completed. Upon reaching Initiate in Oinin Butai, you gain the Eagle Eye perk innately so you can choose one other Oinin perk as well. When you use a sensory technique with jamming you can double the jamming effect, this ability applies to one technique per three posts.

                                                        ____✦ Scholar – Scholar
_✧ You may pick 2 of its disciplines. Additionally, fuuinjutsu and sensory techniques used by this specialization are reduced in chakra cost by five per rank with a minimum of five chakra.

                                                        ____✦Keep Silent
_✧ During a post where a smoke related technique was utilized, the user is able to remove all hints of their presence, including physical form, sound and smell. This effectively removes their presence from even sensory class ninja and dojutsu

User ImageShe wasn't in the lobby, of course. She was in the physical therapy room, assisting a veteran of the Kogarashi War in taking his first baby steps with his new prosthetic leg. However, of course, it was the hokage's privilege to be able to call her up on a spot. After a flurry of activity, including a small mix-up between the medics from Kiri and the medics of Konoha, one individual calmed the chaos and walked away to fetch Kagerou. He entered the treatment room with hurried but calm steps while Kagerou supported a patient with her shoulder, helping him walk from the parallel bars to his wheel chair.

"Kagerou," he called out, not stepping away from the door he held open for her to leave from, "The hokage is calling for you in the hospital lobby. She needs you urgently."

Kagerou looked up, lightly smiling, and gave a silent nod. She beckoned for one of the aides to come help her and slid the weight of the patient from her shoulder to the aide's. Smoothing her clothes as she walked out of the room and then down the hallway with her clan mate by her side, she inquired politely as for the details of the situation. They were detailed and succinct, but naturally, due to the suddenness and desperation of the incident, were vague at best.

Ruined makeup, pleading voice, a vial of blood.
It all sounded so familiar, but Kagerou did not jump to sudden conclusions.

With a carefully prepared smile, the summoned doctor greeted the desperate hokage within the lobby. "Lady Lahlil," the green haired medic's voice rang softly over the bells that rang with each step she took. To either side, Kagerou could see staff and bystanders looking away awkwardly, not sure what to do for their leader or even what to think when the individual they all looked towards for strength and hope was as broken as she. The scene laid before her, the scene she walked forwards to, stabbed her heart with a small pain. The lady in front of her looking more like a small, lost girl, she was still treated with all the expectations of the hokage. The hokage was not supposed to cry, and so it was best to ignore it.

Feeling the pressure of a discerning stare drill into the back of her head, Kagerou took two more steps than was appropriate. Just two more steps, but they were the world of difference between foreign shinobi paying their respects and being within reach to steady trembling arms with a delicate grip and lean over until her eyes could lock with the others. It wasn't an intimate distance, but it would certainly be considered a friendly one by normal people. Kagerou could understand the disapproving stare boring into her from behind. Every reason from the foreign kage potential deceiving her to the position this could place the hokage in should a foreign doctor be so familiar with her in such a public place was a good enough reason alone for her to not take this action, much less when they all applied at once.

However, she could sense no act from Lahlil, no maliciousness or ill intent. Even if she was wrong, this was the only evidence she had to work with for the moment, and she would not approach coldly someone who so desperately needed warmth. Softly smiling and softly speaking, she inquired, "What is it that you require from me?" with all due respect. She needed Lahlil to call the shots here. It really would not do for Kagerou to do as she usually did, whisking away patients to and fro upon her own judgement. It would not do for an Arashi kunoichi to treat the Hokage of all people in such a manner.

                                                        tab
It had to have been by the second or third call when Lahlil at last saw that bob of green hair come her way. It was enough to bring a smile to her lips despite herself. Kagerou had been so kind to offer to help ease the burdens of all the veterans from the Kogarashi war, many of whom would be lucky to continue leading normal lives. Yet still.. there was that hesitation again. The same as it was in everybody. Lahlil wasn't blind, she could see how others treated her differently because she was the Hokage and she hated it more than anything else. Why shouldn't someone feel free to come up and talk with her? All because of some silly title? Other people get to leave their titles at the doorstep on the tail end if a busy day.

Well Lahlil wasn't going to play along with that. She was tired, so emotionally exhausted that didn't have the strength to cry, and covered in untreated frostbite wounds. It took everything in her just to not run into Kagerou's arm's as the Hokage crossed the threshold that separated them. Lahlil throwing herself into the warmth of their touch for the first time six years... or was it seven? Funny that, Lahlil couldn't actually recall the last time she was hugged anymore. Not that it mattered she supposed. "I need you to preform an implant operation for me. I have the sample here." Pressing the vial into her Kagerou's hand, Lahlil spoke but not out loud. Instead her words were whispered intimately into Kagerou's ear whilst still hanging from her shoulder. Some small part of her mind devising at least that even here, she didn't want to divulge that sort of information about herself. "Sorry.. should I have said that in private? Don't worry I'll make sure no one gets the wrong idea about you~ Unless you want them to that is."

User ImageIt was clear the lady had just arrived from a battle. A battle with a hyouton user, specifically. Even with all her attentions focused upon the well being of the patient, it was these little details she could always pick out, just as she had been trained to pick out, read, and manipulate since she was young.

Lahlil all but fell into Kagerou's arms, breaking the distance that Kagerou had left open so that she wouldn't break all the rules of propriety. The featherweight was no burden and being the problematic hugger she was (when younger, at least), Kagerou's arms easily folded around Lahlil, embracing her like it was the most natural thing to do.

Head tilted down slightly, Kagerou listened to the kage's quiet request. Her sharp ears picked up the whispers with ease. A warm, moist hand pulled at one of her arms. Kagerou gave without any resistance, bringing the arm down to her side and she could feel the wet touch trail down its length until it found her hand, where it squished something warm and hard into her palm. Kagerou's fingers wrapped around the cylindrical item, the glass vial filled with yet warm blood.

The still calmly smiling medic did not need to bring her head closer to hear the Hokage. However, the hokage still insisted on closing their distance even further, pushing into Kagerou as her lips found their way to Kagerou's ear. A different voice than before spoke from those glistening lips. Sultry and seductive, but when Kagerou moved her eyes and head sideways to glean into the secrets hidden within Lahlil's eyes, she saw exhaustion and a gleam of insanity, the light of stress condensed, concentrated, and released in whatever outlet it could find. For Lahlil's sake, Kagerou did not take seriously any of what Lahlil had just said in that tone.

The kunoichi's eyes moved, away from Lahlil, and to the audience the two of them had. Then they moved to the side, zeroing in on one of Konoha's medical assistants. Kagerou extended the hand holding the glass vial to the assistant, and called for her assistance, "Xuexue, could you process this sample for an implant?" then turned her shoulder and called out to the front desk, "Fleur, which room should I take the hokage to?". Xuexue hurried up to Kagerou to retrieve the sample and then hurried away with equal speed. Kagerou couldn't see Fleur, but she could hear the mad rustling of papers.

Finally, after all the necessary matters were put into motion, Kagerou lowered her attention back to Lahlil. Though she did not try to physically extricate herself yet, she spoke carefully so as to not aggravate the current compromising (in more ways than one) situation, "Lady Hokage, your attention flatters me. I'll see what I can do for you. Please permit me to settle you in and then give me a moment to find someone for you to speak freely with." She spoke softly, but in a voice that projected so that all in the room can hear and dispel any misconceptions. One hand raised to tuck a loose strand of hair behind Lahlil's ear, but to do that, Kagerou took a step back, recreating a small amount of distance between herself and Lahlil so that the two could stand face-to-face. Still close, but not so close as before.

Letting the distance fall between them Lahlil tried take a step forward but only ended up stumbling in her hysterical state. She was able to catch herself without help but the moment left her staring the ground, white locks shielding her face from view. That's when the clarity of the moment hit her, where she was, what she was doing, and everyone who was watching her at that moment. She couldn't be like this, not here and not right now. The village needed her to be strong, stoic, in control. So that's what she would be. Carefully, the Kage righted herself until she met eyes with Kagerou again. This time her face was devoid of any distinguishable emotion aside from complete apathy. Even the fist she had been making in response to the pain of her arm was now flat at her side, it's wicked pulsating must have undoubtedly cause some discomfort but was ignored just the same. "Thank you, that would be lovely. I apologize for my careless clumsiness! I never know where these silly feet of mine will take me."

The sudden banter felt awkward to her but it should at least do well to banish any thoughts of her own ineptitude. Hopefully Kagerou would be able to accept the subtlety worded apology for behaviour as well. The embarresment she felt over so boldly displaying her attraction was knot up her guts. Every instinct in her body at that moment just wanted to start over apologizing for everything but begging at a foreign ninja's feet was decidedly an 'unkage-like thing to do' so Lahlil settled on mercilessly chewing on her lip. Thankfully the one Kagerou had spoke to eailer, Fleur, had returned to rescue her from her shame. Leaping at the chance to get away from all the leering gazes that were still on, Lahlil hurriedly followed the man to the prepared room, all but throwing herself into the seat.

Her body melted into the chair, her small frame almost seeming to shrink even more. That stench... all this white. Now I remember why I never come here. It was like everything in here was made solely for her to be reminded of her childhood as ridiculous as Lahlil knew that was. Closing her eye lids the woman shuttered out another breathe, her whole being was shivering now. The only comforting thought in all the mess was to count her breathes. One one hundred, two one hundred, three.. Over and over in her mind until the panic was drowned out by the drum of methodical numbers. Her eyes remained closed when she spoke again. She didn't think she was brave enough to look at her right now. "..Kagerou? I want to talk about something but.. I don't know how to talk about this." The blackouts came on in waves. Just that watchful eye trying to take over she supposed. Lahlil forced them away. "What.. what would you do if the person you loved most hurt you. Like really hurt you?" Everything felt like it was coming out as tangled mess. Lahlil couldn't make sense of her emotions anymore, maybe she never could. "It's just.. half the time I think about it, I want to scream. And the other half, I forget-- forget that anything changed."

It was weird to be saying it out loud. Her inner struggles that is. Lahlil didn't expect Kagerou to understand, in fact she half heartedly expected her to run away on the spot. She wouldn't blame her if she did. Dropping such a heavy handed question on someone you barely knew? Opening your heart to them? She didn't deserve to have that weight put on her. It was a selfish thing. Just another thing to apologize for. "I'm sorry.. that wasn't right. You shouldn't have to feel responsible for me like that."

In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no activation for that specific instance of kai.

User ImageThe red-eyed doctor's arms twitched, reacting to catch Lahlil but stopping at the very last moment when she saw that Lahlil would be fine. She watched, passively, neither moving away nor forwards, leaving the ball in the hokage's court. She wondered what went on behind that curtain of white hair. She did not dare intrude to find out. When Kagerou was once more permitted to see Lahlil, she was met with stoic discipline, an emptiness that was so often the first step to the killing of oneself. The opening of Lahlil's fist did not escape Kagerou's notice, even if it happened on the very edge of her vision. Her eyes darted down at the motion, and though it was only a glance, she saw how the muscles in her wrist, all the way up to her shoulder tensed with strain. Kagerou's eyes hopped from the shoulder and returned to looking at Lahlil's emotionless visage.

Kagerou of the quiet smile merely nodded to Lahlil's excuse. She understood what the hokage was trying to convey: the rumors Lahlil was trying to snip in the bud with her out of place banter, the sincerity behind the apology despite the lighthearted delivery of it, and what she was really apologizing for. In similar fashion, Kagerou returned, "Not at all. It is perfectly natural for everyone to have their bad days," in a light, melodic voice. She meant what she said at face value to the meanings that underlay Lahlil's words. Lahlil did not need to feel like she had done anything wrong. To break down was to be human, and there was nothing wrong with that. not when she also clearly understood the burdens of her office.

It did not surprise Kagerou to see the hokage nearly jump at the chance to make an exit, tailing so quickly behind Fleur the moment the medical receptionist was ready to lead them to a room. Then again, not many things surprised Kagerou. Kagerou took a few moments to make a few extra arrangements and finish a few procedures for the hokage's sudden emergency visit. She even took a moment to share a casual lines of small talk with a coworker. The man who had fetched her was nowhere to be seen, but a slip of paper left on the counter he had been standing in front of her caught the kunoichi's eye. She discreetly retrieved it and read its contents when she left the many eyes behind in the lobby and walked through the hallways to the appointed examination room. There was nothing said in the note that she didn't already expect, and after taking the second to glimpse at the short message, she sealed it away to be disposed of later.

All of this lead to Kagerou entering a few minutes after Lahlil had settled down into the seat and started her breathing exercises. The door opened and closed with audible clicks and the gentle ringing of bells announced her presence so there was nothing to be surprised about. While Lahlil continued to calm down, Kagerou walked to the counter and started writing in the files she had brought, filling out the header and whatnot.

Lahlil started speaking, and Kagerou was just about to turn around when she stopped herself. Only her head turned, her smiling profile looking at Lahlil before it, too, turned back around and Lahlil was left with only her back.

"What would I do? It would depend on the circumstances... Though I doubt my circumstances would be very relatable to what must have happened to you," Kagerou started to answer, showing through actions rather than words that she did not think Lahlil's fears a burden at all. However, in the end, she stopped after those scant few sentences. She didn't think it right to continue.

The other party was the hokage, and Kagerou... Kagerou served a foreign power. No matter how much she wanted to help, it was best if she didn't. Even under the oath she had taken when she chose to become a doctor, she was still a kunoichi. Circumstances were too complicated, too many risks.

The choice composed Kagerou's face into a distant, polite smile, which she presented to Lahlil when she finally turned around. "Lady Lahlil, on second thought and I truly am sorry for this, I don't think I am the right person to speak with regarding this topic. As a foreign shinobi, it would be a liability for both sides. If you would like, I can instead recommend another professional. Konoha's own head psychiatrist, for example, or a friend of mine that I admire most, who I can assure you is a neutral party and the kindest soul you will ever meet."

What was she thinking earlier? Starting to speak just because she wanted to help and because she felt like she wanted to know more about Lahlil. Learning more about who she is and trying to help her find her own path. It was an unsavory reality of this world that good intentions were not necessarily good choices. Now that she had turned around and could see Lahlil, could see the darkness creep behind her eyes, her pupils shifting in more ways than one: dull to clear, dim to bright, moving in disconnected motions. They were familiar eyes, she had seen them on Jack. Now was not the time to be recommending other practitioners, but that was all Kagerou could do as she smiled, disconnected, and remained firmly standing on the other side of the room.

                                                        tab
"What would I do? It would depend on the circumstances... Though I doubt my circumstances would be very relatable to what must have happened to you."

Lahlil's frown deepened. Not because of any perceived notion of abandonment from Kagerou's words, though the attempt at separation left a hurt on some instinctual level. No, it was more in the sound, the way the tone carried itself. This wasn't Kagerou anymore, the voice that was speaking wasn't some soft spoken melody. It was a harsh raspy voice that could only know and associate with years of tortuous abuse. Reactively the Kage's body started to shiver in the way a child did when their mother yelled but was too frightened to run away, her brain not even registering it as an option.

It was an illusion. It had to be. Lahlil saw with her own eyes that her mother had died in her arms not but a few days. But that didn't make this any less real, or rather, she wanted this to be real. Needed it even. The desire for approval and love was so strong in her now that it drowned out any rational part of her brain screaming that this was nothing but the fault of her Sakkakugan. For the first time in her life since Suna Caine's words had failed her. There was a lie in the darkness and Lahlil would pursue it with every ounce of her being.

Leaning forward with all the excited preppiness of one who would have done anything for the happiness for another, Lahlil keep her sightless gaze locked on Kagerou. Smiling even as the medic pushed to keep the separation between them. "No please! I'll be good for you I promise. Just don't stop talking with me, talk more even! I don't care what about I just love the sound of your voice so much." Slowly, ever so slowly, during her hysterical fawning Lahlil inched her way out of her seat and closer to Kagerou with every word. The pitch, mannerisms, expressions, all matching one of child-like wonder. "Sooo... other conversations.. uhmm... Oh I know! So, have you like done this before? I just ask cause it's my first time I think and I just wanna know before you stick it in me ya know? Let me mentally prepare for it. Also! You're very striking you know? What even made you want to pursue a career in the medic field? It's truly the loss to world that they don't get to hear what I think is such a lovely voice. OHHh I see it now.. green hair, the essence of pure nature, moving through the wind. Not for or against, but a separate force working in an absolute harmony that makes both better because of it. Then! In the silence, while all eyes are pulled in by the brilliance of the spotlight it carries a time that breaks hearts!"

Opening the palm of her hands, each word from the Kage brought to life a new feature to what was essentially, a miniature genjutsu version of Kagerou. Her form effortlessly mixing dance and song, much to the squealing delight of a still apparently sightless Lahlil. The bright pink shimmering dully through her eyelids to bring to life the illusion from nothing but her inner thoughts. The longing smile that wore Lahlil's lips drew her in close once the Clone Kagerou finished her performance, so that she might boop it with her nose. The whole event was barely a trifle of her power and yet the use of her eyes had drained enough that the corners of her consciousness would fade soon. Which was honestly just the worst timing as the Hokage was now far to oblivious to even register that there had been a light tapping on the door to their room. Should Kagerou bother to open it she would find a young red haired woman, eyes bright and humming an indistinguishable tune.

This essentially changes the casting location for the paired ability while still consuming an activation and chakra. To be clear this PA makes it so that as long as she has the activation and resources to do so, Lahlil can simultaneously cast another fuunin with flying thunder god or the fuunin shuushin.

User ImageShe wasn't seeing her. She wasn't seeing anything. Eyes wide open yet their pretty pink gaze was blind to the world, lost in a reality of their own making as they came closer. Actually, that was when Kagerou realized, Lahlil's eyes had changed, from their original purple to a vibrant pink, nearly glowing with their intensity.

Kagerou continued to smile, but her body tensed as she came to a crossroads. She could have, at her fingertips, an anti-psychotic drug she could shoot into Lahlil in an instant. She did not doubt her abilities to land the shot while the Hokage was distracted as such. It would be protocol, proper procedures, what she should do as the doctor solely in charge of implants. It would compromise her position and the hokage's if she were to try and do anything more than an implant.

At the same time, the doctor couldn't help but be worried that pushing this matter off to later would only further ruin the Hokage's mental health. The Sakkakugan, if she could remember her readings from years past correctly, was a heavily genjutsu-based doujutsu. There was much not known about the elusive eyes. Bearers of the bloodline limit were often fragile, and consequently, few chose to enter the battlefield and have their powers truly sign, or at least that was the theory behind the lack of information on the bloodline. However, Kagerou could imagine that some sort of backfiring at genjutsu could be at play here? Lahlil's eyes were glowing so bright, a chakra fiasco of some sort had to be brewing here.

Or maybe Kagerou could be the one under a genjutsu. That was a terrifying possibility. She had to keep her guard up, in that case, but if she let fear dictate who she cared for and who she didn't, then she would not be here in Leaf.

In the end, bleeding heart Kagerou relented. She did not summon the anti-psychotic drug and the muscles in her body relaxed as she took this, for her, more natural decision. Lahlil was already halfway through her nonsense, but a gentle smile, Kagerou listened to the rest of what she had to say. She listened to the end of the fanciful imaginations, all the way until Lahlil booped her nose against the imaginary Kagerou. "What were those eyes? Why did she look so longingly at the miniature me?" It couldn't be literally her that Lahlil so affectionately treated. They barely knew each other, outside of perhaps professional respect. "Therefore, if it is not me, then what do I represent? Can the clues be found in her ramblings prior?"

Red eyes soft, Kagerou gently gripped Lahlil's wrist with her right hand. Her fingers pattered upon the skin, lifting off and pressing down like Lahlil's thin wrist was the neck of the violin. She easily found the pulse and in the seemingly innocuous motions, cast a sensory technique followed shortly after by the mental diagnosis technique. She could sense the mental exhaustion within Lahlil. No, even before that, she could see it in the wrinkles around her eyes that had grown over the course of the performance. What she couldn't see was the wildly fluctuating mental state, almost like she was looking at the meshed diagnoses of two individuals. The latter was often indicative of dissociative identity disorder, as opposed to the bipolar disorder Kagerou had initially diagnosed.

There was, additionally, another chakra signature Kagerou happened to pick up on accident just moments before she heard the soft knocking upon the door. With a few hand signs from her free hand, Kagerou conjured a shadow clone to answer the door. The clone promptly answered the knocking, asking the red-haired beauty that stood opposite, "Hello, how may I help you?".

Behind the clone, the real Kagerou could be seen quietly leading Lahlil to the hospital bed and getting her to lay upon it before she passed out from the sudden exhaustion. "L-," Kagerou began to call the hokage, but took back the first syllable and decided to forego the title, "Lahlil, I'll be happy to talk to you whenever you'd like, but please, I need you to rest first." It was... Not even Kagerou was sure how much she meant of what she said. How much was a lie. How much truth. How much was a lie she wished she could have said as truth.

By now her fading consciousness was making it's last hold in trying to keep herself awake and not losing herself although in truth Lahlil didn't even remember why she was fighting so hard to keep from the sleep anymore. Making little baby grabs with her hands Lahlil clung to whatever skin to skin contact that she could find on Kagerou, even in the amidst of her trying to calm her down. "Noooooo" She cooed like a child. "I know that voice you'll just leave me once I wake uuup. I don't want you to gooo pleaseee? I like you so much..." With every last bit of her reaming strength Lahlil made a grab at her hand trying to pull it up close enough to nibble on it. Any attempts to pull away now would be meet with the kage just grabbing at her hand again until she was either restrained or Kagerou moved far enough away that her grabs became impossible. No matter what was chosen however, wouldn't end up much mattering as after just a couple minutes would finally drain the Hokage completely. With the last of her fading self she whispered. "I'll only do it.. for.. a smile.." And for the first time since they had entered the hospital room did Lahlil's flutter open hoping to catch a glimpse of what she desired before she lost it completely.

Meanwhile there was a sharp giggle that came from the door where the red ahired woman still stood waiting. "Oh dear! I'm so sorry, honey I thought I would have made it in time. I'm actually Lahlil's old doctor! Suna born! Although I probably shouldn't be saying that anymore considering it's all dust in the wind now huh?" Laughing at her own dark sense of humor the woman quickly pulled out a notebook badge certifying that she what she said so far was indeed been the truth. "Ever since the.. well you know. I tried to stay away from the villages but every now and then I came to check in on my old patient to make sure that she's doing okay~" Idly the woman bobbed back and forth while she waited for Kagerou of course scan over and return her documents. It would only be out an impatience that the woman quickly added. "Soo, do you think I could come in? I don't mean to spy! Just in case she has another flare up is all. She can get a little.. well much I know." Smiles, smiles, and more smiles, even the scrutinizing gaze from Kagerou would find her only to only be telling the truth, albeit there would still be a nagging feeling that there was something wrong with the situation.

I don't know how another ninja would validate a license from another village but I assume you would have at least some idea of what to look for. Card reads that her name is Aaliyah Lovell, is a medic class ninja who specializes in Psychiatry & Surgery, and is stamped with whatever proves it's really from Suna.

User ImageKagerou found her hands constantly recaptured in Lahlil's grip whenever she would shake them loose and try to help support or guide another part of the grown woman's body to stay still. That was if she was lucky, too. One time, Lahlil got Kagerou's hair and the other she had hooked onto the top of Kagerou's shirt. In the end, the green haired doctor relented and let the patient cling to her hands and nibble at them for what it was worth. "Lahlil, it'll be okay. Lahlil, please let me go. Lahlil, I'll be right here," the entire time, Kagerou spoke softly to Lahlil like the child she had apparently mentally regressed to, repeating her name and giving simple requests, "Lahlil, will you be a good girl?". Most of these requests fell on deaf ears, it felt. It didn't seem like Lahlil was aware of her surroundings at all, but still, just in case a small bit of her was, Kagerou responded appropriately. The final request from Lahlil, the one where she asked Kagerou to smile, wasn't hard at all. Kagerou wasn't sure what Lahlil was saying she would do, but a soft smile had always been spread beneath those ruby eyes. The good doctor simply continued to smile, and when Lahlil's eyes would flutter open for one last look, she would see a kind, concerned smile.

The real Kagerou could focus on Lahlil. ignoring the sharp giggle that came from the doorway, because she could trust her clone to handle the affairs with the visitor accordingly. At the door, the clone politely stood, smiling, and accepting whatever documents were handed her way. She briefly scanned and verified the documents before returning them to their original owner. "It's nice to meet you Dr. Lovell," the clone politely greeted, "I'm the clone of Dr. Kiritani, with Arashigakure's Neo-Konoha aid group. The real me is currently tending to Lahlil as you can see."

Despite the polite greeting, the clone could not feel that something was wrong, a fact misplaced. Since the documentation had been provided as well as this doctor announcing herself as Lahlil's personal physician, there really wasn't any reason for Kagerou to hold her at the door any further. Therefore, she stepped aside to let Aaliyah pass.

The real Kagerou straightened up after checking Lahlil's pulse and verifying that she was unconscious. She couldn't keep an eye on the other doctor, but she had heard the conversation and understood the basic gist of what was occurring. Giving a professional smile, the original inquired the entering doctor, ""By the way, if you don't mind me prying, what did you mean when you said earlier that you thought you would have made it in time? Made it in time for what?".

As soon as she was able to Aaliyah graced herself into the room. Her feet were like morning mist moving to fill the space of the room, notably they didn't make any kind of sound. "La de dah de dum~ Hum? Oh that. I just saw her enter the village from.. Mm I'm not sure exactly, but she looked hurt and like more than a few strings had been cut so I wanted to see just what was going on. Honestly I would have gone to see her immediately had my own business not been so pressing." Taking the time to get comfortable Aaliyah took a wheely seat and scooted herself to the foot of the bed. Her bright blue scrutinizing every burn, scrape, and cut along Lahlil's body. The smile never leaving her lips as she did so. "Did she give you any trouble? I vividly recall that she used to struggle with her mental state as a child." Mannerisms, air, words, everything about Aaliyah would mark her as the type to carry herself with a carefully controlled air, and once those eyes were done with Lahlil they would set on the reserved Kagerou. Soaking in every inch, they pried at her trying to figure out just what kind of person she was and how she might be of use to her. It was of the gaze of someone who saw the world as a chess board.

Once they seemed to get what they were after the smile returned. Nothing but a happy mask. "Actually if we can talk off the record, I worry about her you know? Getting forced into into being Kage, everyone dumping their problems on her, her powers outgrew her mentally and now the stress of it all seems like it's weighing hard on her. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who even cares if the position is right for her or if it's just sicking the life out of her." Despite what impression her earlier behaviour might left, Aaliyah's words lacked any sort of envy over the situation. Mostly they just felt devoid of any emotion entirely, neither concerned nor treacherous.

User Image"I," the green haired woman's answer came out succinct and professional, "don't know." She smiled, the pleasant curve of the lips and the soft gaze of the eyes an impenetrable barrier as she moved to hold Lahlil's wrist and measure her pulse. The original seemed entirely focused on Lahlil, but the clone kept her eyes strictly on Aaliyah. Releasing Lahlil's wrist after a little more than a minute, the good doctor guarded herself with pleasantries, "I'm sorry, but I don't really think there's much for me to say in regards to Lahlil-sama." Her hands delicately started to heal Lahlil's wounds and injuries, channeling healing chakra across the body.

She could feel the intensity of this stranger's gaze, as if she was being searched down to her very pores, and the half truths that slithered from between her luscious lips were like a familiar tune. The key may be off and the interpretation different, but it was something Kagerou was used to hearing. Actually, there were a lot of things Kagerou found familiar in this woman. She didn't mind the many small details, from the silent footsteps to the unwavering smile, but it certainly made her wonder. The hokage was a notably powerful genjutsu user. Kagerou understood she could be neither too rash nor too cautious. Although, more than either emotion, what she was feeling most was interest and curiosity.

Unfortunately, she was a doctor and a foreign representative. Duty-bound as she was, Kagerou could not indulge when the Hokage right besides her was in dire need of care. The frail leader wasn't in a condition for Kagerou to be taking her usual carefree risks. This wasn't the time to play personal games. She still didn't even know what hid under the veil of Aaliyah's words. She gave the hokage's personal information away too easily, and with the state Lahlil arrived in, Kagerou found it hard to believe that there could be matters in the peaceful town of Leaf that could have been even more pressing.

A ring of bells then the click of a door finally closing. The clone had been holding the door open this entire time and only just now closed it. Not only that, it also spoke up, politely requesting with a smile identical to the real one's, "Apologies, Dr. Aaliyah, but as you can see from the Lady Hokage's condition, she is in need of urgent care."

"Please be direct," the real Kagerou picked up seamlessly from where the clone left off, "What is it that you want?". From Lahlil? From Kagerou? All possibilities were currently open. Even the possibility that it was nothing suspicious at all and Kagerou was completely wrong. "Forgive me my bluntness, but I can't help but feel this talk about Lahlil's childhood and the burdens of her office are nothing but beating around the bush, and I also do not get the feeling of much concern from you in spite of how long you have known her for."

Hearing Kagerou's words caused Aaliyah to grab at her chest in a wounded sort of manner, the same way some self important noble might have after taking offensive at a careless comment made by another. However, it was the gleam in her eye that betrayed the doctor's real feelings. The was a wave of utter delight sweeping through her form. There wasn't anyway for Kagerou to know, but the stakes they were playing for? It was enough to the fuel the adrenaline in even greatest puritan. "My dearie! I hope I'm sensing any hostility here! I can assure you that my feelings torwards Miss Nevarra are nothing short of genuine. Buuut I suppose if I can't convince you of that then it means my welcome here is all but worse out." Hands lifted open palmed in the air as a show of submission felt more like a magician leading the eye right where they wanted it to be. "I do apologize for giving off the wrong impression love. I hope that next time we meet it will be under more... favorable circumstances~" With one last breathy sigh the good doctor went to take her leave from the office, although at the laggy pace she took a swift call from Kagerou might be able to draw her back.

User ImageThe way that word was italicized and that tilde at the end did no favors in lowering Kagerou's guards towards this woman. She wanted something from her, or she was testing her. Whichever was the case, Kagerou was just glad to see Aaliyah leave. She was curious, yes. Very curious, and Aaliyah seemed like a very interesting individual. Under other circumstances, perhaps she would have minded playing along with the mind games, figuring out what exactly made her tick inside. However, with the hokage besides her, a foreign kunoichi, these were far from normal circumstances.

Only after Aaliyah very slowly left the room and the door finally shut behind her, Kagerou returned her attention to Lahlil. Although, the clone kept half an eye out for any uninvited guests or eavesdroppers.

"Where was I again?" the medic quickly regained her bearings as she cast her eyes down upon the sleeping Lahlil. With her eyes closed and her mind adrift in dream land, and perhaps in part due to the impression Aaliyah's words left on her, the hokage in front of her appeared childlike. Her narrow shoulders almost seemed like they were just about to be crushed by the burdens of her duties and emotions at any moment. Gently, giving in for a moment to her feelings, Kagerou tucked away a strand of white hair behind the ear, appreciating how fluffy it felt between her fingers. After tucking away the hair, her fingers rested for a few seconds on the pulse point behind the ear. Then they retreated.

Small shoulders could bear great burdens. Sometimes, they bore the greatest. Large shoulders could as well. Lahlil's breakdown now could have repercussions in the far future. Rumors spread. Her mental state itself could deteriorate from hereon out, but it might not. What actually mattered to her ability to serve the village as kage was not this breakdown but how she would handle it in the following days and years. Many in this world were broken. Many lose pieces of themselves and then clumsily stick them back on with whatever adhesive they can find or grow new pieces as replacements when their old cannot be found. It was sad, but it was also strength. Kintsugi, the golden art of broken beauty.

Finding her mind wandering, Kagerou blinked and snapped her thoughts back to reality. This was the hokage she faced, a foreign world leader. Right now, the priority was assisting her in a speedy recovery and then accompanying her with her transplant once she was physically and mentally stable. The medic's hands had not been idle while she had been lost in her thoughts amidst panda-eyed cats, murky silver locks, lost hearts, and black hair that draped like silk sheets around a beloved smiling mask. Most of the hokage's physical injuries had been healed. Perhaps a sore spot or four left, but almost as good as new otherwise.

As for mental health, Kagerou could think of little else other than a bit of r&r to assist with that. Because of the mysterious properties of chakra, an unstable mind was at times even more of a liability during a transplant procedure than an unfit body.
