Day 019 Theme: Christmas Comments: Still writing... =w= Word count: 854
The small hands disassembled various gun parts and placed them onto the table in a neat manner. Her eyes glanced at the watch on her wrist, to the door, and then to the window where she could see the soft snow falling in the dimly lit darkness of the flashy motel sign. The natural icicles gave the cheap exterior light decorations a more Christmas-feel to them. With minimal effort on the holiday spirit, there were no decorations within the interior. Two full size beds with each set being a different shade of brown, suggesting the person doing the purchasing at probably a flea market was not detailed oriented to at least get the same shade of brown bedding. Between the bed was a mahogany nightstand with drawers that did not open. The digital clock on the stand was missing a bar or two in some of the numbers. Wallpaper was no better as the once floral strips were stained with all the shade of brown the world had to offer.
There was a struggle at the door, the card reader beeped, but the door handle did not move. By the time the person tried to open it, the door timed out. A frustrated groan could be heard as another attempt was made with no success. Third time's the charm, the door swung open with a man balancing three large paper bags and a drink tray that carried two large sodas. The man with a heavy coat danced around the heavy door as it slammed shut on its own.
“What took you so long?” she asked sharply as she snapped the parts back together, cocking the gun to test the sound of it.
“Do you realize how many places are closed at this time?” he retorted back without any irritation in his tone. He made his way across the room and set the large brown paper bags with yellow arches that made an M down on the table in front of her.
Without much hesitation, she opened the bag and rummaged through the content. First, she pulled out a burger wrapped in a yellow wrapper, then she pulled out two boxes containing nuggets. On a mission, she was going through the other two bags for the rest of her order and laid out their portions respectively while he took a moment to set drinks aside and slid a nearby chair for himself. A swift motion and his coat was tossed at the end of one of the beds.
They ate in silence for a few moments when she looked up. He caught her eyes immediately and watched her as she scanned the window. Without a word, he finished a big bite of his burger before he placed it down on the table. He got up from his chair and pulled out his twin blades. Chewing his bite as quickly as possible before the threat arrives-- at that moment, a large black blur crashed through the glass, shattering pieces all over the floor as he deflected something metal in an instant. Shoved back a few feet from the sheer speed, he grunted as he attempted to push it back.
Three shots went off and the black creature retreated into a corner to gather itself, reeling as the body coiled to launch a second attack. It hurled towards the one that made the shots, she jumped back in time for the man to shield her.
“Tsk, persistent b*****d,” he growled as he shoved it off again. The creature coiled back to attack once more, drilling fast to get past the blocker. "Oh no you don't!" he shouted, batting at the creature like a fast ball and sending it flying towards the mismatched dresser. The brutal collision caused some drawers to stumbled out as if they're drunk and not sure if they should stay in place or not.
“Hold him!” she called out, holding a hand on a pendant around her neck as she began chanting under the breath.
“Easier said than done,” he muttered as he chases after the creature, but it was already struggling away from the dresser and heading to hide under the bed for some covers. He took a quick side-step to stop it in its tracks, which caused the creature to slither towards the open bathroom door in a quick desperation to get away. Leaping with hope, he landed on top of the creature and they struggled in what seemed like a tangled ball of yard.
“Hurry up!!” he shouted, feeling the creature was slipping from his grip. He continued to struggle to hold on as long as he could because if it escaped, who knows where they would have to chase it in the damn cold weather.
A shine illuminated the room as pink glimmering lights weaved in the air to form a chain around the creature’s neck. The dark blur was slowly molding from a shadow to a solid form as a snarling jaw nearly clamped down on an arm, but he was able to move away quickly enough. The creature tried to plunge towards the man, but the chain held it firmly.

Day 023 Theme: I wish I had...
Regrets on the unwalked paths Pondering on the questions The what if's The what could's The maybe's Dreams left unfulfilled
Why are there so many paths? Why are there so many choices? Life is full of freedom, Yet we are boxed in by our decisions. If I choose one, I will not have the other.
Human lives are complex filled with emotions and drama. If we leap too soon, we may fail. If we leap too late, the opportunity is missed. Yet it's not even guaranteed even if we leap just in time.
Daunting thoughts that carry no meaning other than haunt the dreamer Make-believe fantasies can be dangerous Some take quite the twisty turn... If left uncheck, death will surely follow
Why regret on something you didn't reach for? Did you think you would succeed if you did? Or do you believe in success after knowing what you know now? Perhaps you would not have learned that in your other journey.
Every path carries a different weight Every path is burden with obstacles that will be challenging Don't waste time pondering and wondering about the past. Think about the present and what you can do now. Plan for the future and look at what needs to get done.
Wishing what you had done won't change what was done. Think about what you want to do and work on it Life is too short to not keep moving forward Why dwell on something you cannot change, When you have a whole future in front of you to conquer?
Phrases like "I wish I had" creates doubt and thus creates insecurities It creates problems and makes people think they will have a different outcome. When in reality, they might end up in the same place with a different journey. Now, the created insecurity will creep into other aspects of life.
Why do people regret what they could have had? Why regret about on the past? What needed to be changed so badly that it cannot be used in the present or future? What is so important...? Telling someone you love them? Telling someone that they are important to you?
If they were important, you would have let them know. If you loved them, you would have already told them in a non-verbal way. The past is a lesson that can be learned, Learn from them and make the future a better place for yourself. Don't just tell someone that you cherish them, show them that you cherish them.
