Physical Description: Thaideem has thick, dark hair, olive but freckled skin, and dark eyes. She is on the shorter side of average for a Pernese woman with broad shoulders and narrow hips. Most of her weight rests in her belly, hips, and thighs giving her a very thick appearance that she doesn't quite mind.
Personality: Thaideem's reputation proceeds her - and whatever wide berth the Weyrborn girl is given has been entirely earned for her difficult personality. While not pointedly cruel, she is absolutely an acquired taste to most company - Sharp, thickskinned, and absolutely self-assured, she oozes the kind of confidence that would make someone want to punch the grin right off her face. That said grin is often delivered in place of any pointed statement makes what it means absolutely clear in any context. Oh how adorable you think so. Are you sure about that? Are you hearing yourself? and so many more statements are delivered with a tilt of the head and no words at all doesn't help quell the punching urge.
When she does want to share her actual thoughts it is almost worse as she is unwilling to pull any (verbal) punches. Blunt, scathing, and sarcastic are all words that have been liberally used to describe Thaideem. Mixed with the fact she absolutely sees herself leading the pack, her opinions may be considered slightly (smile smile) more important than those of others- which may be why her thick skin is so hard to get through to cause any actual damage to her ego. Those that do are unfortunate to find a core of iron underneath it all ready to throw it all back in your lap for trying - darling. It isn't malicious on Thaideem's part at all, however. While not on the prowl to hurt any feelings, Thaideem is quick to assume that any feelings that are hurt will recover after the initial shock has worn off and perhaps that softness is not actually weakness, but a mask over a similar thick skin like her own.
That said, Thaideem does know where the pack she can lead ends and where authorities higher than herself begin and will absolutely fall in line for someone she considers 'ranking' above her with nary a complaint. Many may consider that she is perhaps sucking up and waiting for her turn to be recognized (she is), it doesn't change that she has a strong respect for the chain of command. She will perform tasks she is given without so much as a sarcastic smile or a complaint that it is 'beneath' her. She isn't above her duties, after all.
If one can come to not take her personally, because most of what she is isn't meant to be, there is a certain charm to her bluntness.

History: Thaideem hasn't lived a hard life in the least - daughter of a goldrider and one of her many dalliances, she spent an average amount of time in the creche as in her mother's care. As well, she spent time training in her mother's craft.
Life was good - average in stock for a Weyrborn candidate as far as she sees it. Thaideem has made more friends (and even one past lover) with people twice her age than her own, holding onto friends amongst her fellow Candidates in only a select few who could handle her abrasive personality. It wasn't like she was chasing after any hurt feelings to fix them, after all, and if she made enemies, well.....that's entirely one-sided as far as she knows it. Her signature coarseness softened only when Thread returned (and then, only until the damage could really be assessed) and planted a seed of worry that any child has for their parents, taking her candidacy up a notch from 'what is done' to 'what must be done'. She has Dragonrider blood in her veins, after all, and she intends to serve.
Other: Daughter of Sura. Thaideem has 4 siblings, at least 1 of which is younger (14). Their ages are unspecific and they're not in play yet so how they interact will be...determined!
DRAGON
Name: (GREEN) Zegurath
Personality:
Make way, Zegurath is coming - and straight from the shell, they're not going out of their way to make friends. Frankly, they're not exactly trying to stack up enemies either, but bless this dragon's heart, they're going to have them. With a temperament that leans on the cool side, they have as little care about what cruel things could be thought about them as they do with how they phrase their thoughts or go about their day - they know where their worth lays.
Unfortunately, this sandpapery attitude comes with a keen sense of reading those around them, content to soak up things from the conversations they will absolutely not be invited to and holding onto that fuel until they know where to beat start the fire with it - under a tail fork or to perhaps clear the way to keep other proverbial fires from spreading.
Or to start one because they're simply having a day of it - Zegurath may not mind that their abrasive personality will get some bite in return, but things completely out of their control? It can be a flip of the coin. Water was too cold? Mad about it. Wherry they had for lunch after a fight was fantastic? Fight forgotten. But wait, someone stepped on their tail? Mad again! Their rider will need to be ready to temper Zegurath and then some.
Zegurath knows the value of a dragon who is where they need to be, over being particularly quick or strong - and would rather be predictably-reliable in every task, than a superstar.
Zegurath is also known to be particular. Not a perfectionist, but someone who would look at perfection….and pick at it. They'll pick at good-enoughs and so-closes until they fall apart. They will turn this in upon themselves to refine their self worth...but it is a potential internal spiral they could start themselves upon if not redirected from obsessing.
Astute, Self-assured, Reliable
Abrasive, Moody, Nitpicky
Size: Medium
Physical Attributes: Zegurath takes after their father, being built rather sleekly with strong shoulders. Their headknobs are unusually long for a dragon and curve inwards slightly towards each other, while their wings lean on just the small size for a dragon of their size.
Additional Notes: Zegurath and flights won't mix well - their moodiness will be a cheesegrater on the brain for all contenders and it'll be no surprise if they are short lived experiences for them.
Romantically it may not be much better for them as they lack tenderness out the door and will trip over themselves should they find someone worth pursuing. True love may be a hard find.
Zegurath will have a tendency to want to eavesdrop if left unchecked.
Why Me:
Thaideem and Zegurath on the surface appear to be two peas in a pod - confident and abrasive. And really, if that were all there were, it would still have been the only choice for Zegurath. Thaideem's confidence and thick skin will counterbalance Zegurath's abrasiveness and withstand their nitpicking. Her sense of duty and place in the Weyr suit Zegurath's desire to be reliable, but also will help focus this dragon's moodiness on the bad days. Thaideem and Zegurath likely will go for the kill (verbally) with one another on a day to day basis, but they're both too tough to be hurt by it - and maybe they'll crack each other enough to make room for something else to come in and grow.
