[Solo] The River (Aurora)

Aurora went out to the river, she had nothing with her it was hot out so she was grateful that her element was water and she could easily jump into the river to cool down. For now, she wanted to walk beside the river looking down at the water thinking about it and thinking about the creatures that swam in the deep cool water of the river. The river was fed by the mountains so she knew the water would be cold and she would have to embrace that if she wanted to get in touch with the water and figure out how to use it.

Aurora continued on down the bank of the river till she reached a spot where she decided to sit down by the edge of the river and put her paws into the cold water. She felt the water rushing through her fur she closed her eyes and just let herself be with the water. The water chilled her a great deal but there was such a clean feeling from being in the water even in this small degree. She let out a breath and then she stood and jumped into the river she was ready to do this. She swam with the river going with the current.

She wanted to feel like a fish and embrace the river not fight the river. She also knew that if she fought the river's pull she was tired herself out long before the day was over. She needed to conserve her strength if she was going to do this right. She dove down into the water feeling the water cool all around her, holding her breath. She had nothing on her, all her books and scrolls wouldn't help her here. She opened her eyes under the water looking around to see what she could see beneath the water's surface.

River fish swam by her and she was so happy, she loved this, this really was her element feeling the river water and the cold bracing mountain river water. She came up out of the water, she knew she needed to get out of the water soon and let her fur dry for a while so she didn't catch cold. If she waited till the sun was setting she would surely catch cold from being in the cold water all day long. She swam to the side of the river and then pulled herself up on the bank. She didn't feel the need to hunt for food she wanted to just connect and feel the water, she would worry about food later. She did need to think about drinking water, she was pretty sure this river water since it was always moving and fed by the mountains would be safe.

She just wasn't sure if the river water was safe, which left her a little unnerved she wanted to be able to trust the water before the day was at its end otherwise she felt like she hadn't achieved what she needed to be in true touch with the water. She made her way away from the river listening for more water that she would be able to check to see if the water was clean enough to drink. She found a small stream where she decided she would try again. Aurora watched the small beautiful stream move along and she felt like it was clean enough to drink from. She also felt like she had connected with this small stream. She bent down and drank from the stream. Aurora stayed by the stream for the rest of the day listening to the little stream speak to her.
