Will this tale reach its conclusions? Only the fates may tell, but it all started with light that broke through lulling darkness, a cry of mortal breath, and hands joined from the birth-beginning of this one lifetime.

A character can limit their level of progression in turn by limiting the number of paragraphs they personally want to consider qualifying towards the shinobi mission. I.e one could have done 6 paragraphs worth of a mission but choose only to use 3 of those paragraphs for their claim to XP. Shinobi missions contribute to an individual's overall totals of 'missions' completed for fulfilling the criteria and they reward ryo. Most simply put, any E-C rank shinobi mission requires a minimum of 1 paragraph. For B-S rank missions, a minimum of 5 paragraphs is required because they are more complex in nature. Missions that are especially complicated like those that require assassination and heavy/life-threatening combat must be of B-Rank and up. If you write more than 1 paragraph for an E-C rank mission then every additional paragraph yields double the XP reward for the additional effort. For example, writing the first paragraph of a C-Rank mission fulfills the requirement and grants 20 XP but if you write another 4 paragraphs then those paragraphs grant 40 XP for a total of 5 paragraphs and 180 XP. The same principle applies for adding 5 additional paragraphs to the first 5 paragraphs required for a B-S rank mission. For example, the first 5 paragraphs of a B-Rank mission fulfill the requirement and grants 200 XP but if you write an additional 20 paragraphs then those grant 400 XP each for a total of 25 paragraphs and 1,800 XP. This same effect of applying extra effort in a mission writing session also applies to ryo.

Title: Discovery
Information:A person learns something new every day, the discovery narrative is a simple one when it comes to fulfilling. It is merely a narrative of being exposed to something new. Taking in new scenery, discovering a new menu item, the excitement of being someplace one has never been before, the joys of sightseeing, they are brief flashes of joy but are typically forgotten or have little to no lasting effect on a character as time passes. Every paragraph made leading up to or relishing in a new discovery, rewards XP equal to one's body rank minus [3], minimum [D]

Title: Revelation
Information: Sometimes the things you learn can be enlightening in more than just book smarts. A shifting of beliefs, a new way of looking at things. These narratives affect a characters way of thinking in some way shape or form and sticks with them throughout the rest of their lifetime in most cases until a mind is changed. Revelations are often made in the company of others but even simple things such a billboard warning you 'not to eat too much-fried chicken' could change your way of life.
Every paragraph made leading up to or contemplating a new perspective, rewards XP equal to one's body rank minus [2], minimum [D]. This narrative will typically change a person's beliefs in regards to some particular subject matter.

Title: Growth
Information: To say one had grown is a difficult thing to do. To accept things that are beyond your power, to accept your failures, to strive to be a better person and believe you've made a step towards that better person...even a disillusioned one. These narratives often occur after experiencing some level of loss or confronting some level of difficulty and coming to terms as difficult as it may be. Usually, this involves sacrificing a key character trait. Be it one's penchant for being 'too blunt' a 'bad habit' overcoming a personal vendetta or grudge. Growth is also often found in self-reflection or even developing an existential crisis that affects ones overall behaviors in the long term.
Every paragraph made leading up to or recounting oneself and beliefs provides XP equal to one's body rank. These narratives require that the character change at least one aspect of themselves be it for the better...or the worse.

Title: Bonds
Information: Call it friendship, call it camaraderie, call it a legal obligation. The nurturing of relationships is one of the most fruitful types of narrative. Helping a friend out in a kitchen, helping keep their business alive, being there for them after a bad break up, building new friendships...building new rivals...building new nemesis's. Confronting those nemesis's and exchanging conflicting beliefs in fierce wholehearted heated debate and getting to know the other through their opposition on a new level.
Every paragraph made strengthening an existing relationship with an rpc, rewards XP equal to one's body rank plus [1], maximum . Those interacted with may also be considered to be running this narrative with you albeit their posts are separate from your own.

Title: Trauma
Information: Experiences which can never be forgotten, experiences which linger in your head in the dark of night and won't leave you be. Traumatic events are some of the most impacting narratives. Having massive changes on the character themselves and how they think, behave, and act. These narratives will effect one's character on the largest of levels often getting their own pieces in that person's history. To truly be a trauma, one must be capable of being triggered when reminded of said trauma. These triggers be they erratic or subtle they are always painful reminders.
Every paragraph made leading up to or experiencing a genuine traumatic event rewards XP equal to one's body rank plus [2], max . These events must have a lasting effect on a character and often times will lead to the production of a new fear.

Title: Lasting Memory
Information: Experiences which can never be forgotten, but the opposite of traumas. Events that are so joyous, so wholesome, they simply cannot be forgotten. Lasting Memories are often only made with those the user has bonded with. Be they family, friends, or others just as important. A Lasting Memory can be an overwhelming achievement such as becoming the first gladiator ever in a village to reach the top. These are moments and times you can feel genuine pride and joy in until your dying days.

Every paragraph made leading up to or experiencing a genuine lasting memory rewards XP equal to one's body rank plus [2], max . These events must have a lasting effect on a character in that these memories when mentioned are never to be forgotten and if they are forgotten will cause significant distress as if having a part of oneself missing.

▰ Katai Hozuki [ Solid Assimilation ] {Requires D-rank Body}
By performing the appropriate string of handsigns, and then touching a nearby solid substance, the user will take on its properties. For example, if one were to touch a nearby stone- their body would become as hard as the stone they came into contact with. During such a state, the user could then apply the manipulations they've mastered in order to create unique and adaptable offensive or defensive maneuvers.
• Requires [2] posts to learn.
• Requires a [B-rank] amount of Chakra On Initial Use {No Upkeep}

▰ Eki Hozuki [ Liquid Assimilation ] {Require B-rank Body}
By performing the appropriate string of handsigns, and then touching a nearby liquid substance, the user will take on its properties. For example, if one were to touch a puddle of water- their body would become as fluid as the water they came into contact with. During such a state, the user could then apply the manipulations they've mastered in order to create unique and adaptable offensive or defensive maneuvers.
It should be noted that liquid assimilation is far more difficult to use than solid assimilation. It requires a certain amount of training before you can shape yourself while in a liquid form.
• Requires [3] posts to learn.
• Requires a [B-rank] amount of Chakra On Initial Use {No Upkeep}

▰ Kitai Hozuki [ Gas Assimilation ] {Requires S-rank Body}
By performing the appropriate string of handsigns, and then coming into contact with a gaseous substance, the user will take on its properties. For example, if one were to touch a cloud of mist - their body would become as gaseous as the gas they came into contact with. During such a state, the user could then apply the manipulations they've mastered in order to create a unique and adaptable offensive or defensive maneuvers.
It should be noted that gas assimilation is far more difficult to use than solid assimilation. It requires a certain amount of training before you can shape yourself while in a gaseous form but furthermore it is also incredibly dangerous as while an individual is gaseous despite physical immunity they are highly susceptible to ninjutsu.
• Requires [4] posts to learn.
• Requires a [B-rank] amount of Chakra On Initial Use {No Upkeep}

▰ Purazuma Hozuki [ Plasma Assimilation ] {Requires S+-rank Body}
By performing the appropriate string of handsigns, and then coming into contact with a plasmatic substance, the user will take on its properties. For example, if one were to take in light their body will become intangible. Assimilating into Plasma is no easy feat and is deemed the epoch of a Hozuki user. There is no solid state that can be maintained as a plasma one is essentially raw energy.
• Requires [5] posts to learn.
• Requires a [S-rank] amount of Chakra On Initial Use {B - Upkeep}

▰ Silver Word
Description:
As there stands a god of the Sun, so does the Moon stand as his equal in divinity. Nature's timekeeper. Lady of the hunt. Lord of dreams. Navigator of space. Ruler of the tides. The witness, the poet, the bard. They hold many names and many identities. A shapeshifting deity, mirroring the reflections they cast in the oceans of different hearts. They have a friendship, of divine sorts, with Zelel and Evergreen both. A quiet presence who travels through the world night and day, seeing and retelling stories of interest.

Though the Moon's deity does not regularly traverse the lands like their siblings may, at least not in a form recognized by mortals, they are worshiped nonetheless. Sometimes for their rare occurrences. Other times, merely for being a celestial body. The Moon, however, regardless of names given or interpretations made, is but a watcher, a listener, a storyteller, and a wanderer of this universe and the many others. Kind? Perhaps, but certainly distant. They do not interfere as god or goddess in any world but their own. Therefore, their religions are not a religion based on any true word of god, but instead built on mortal interpretations of coincidences and lingering traces of what is thought to be their powers and miracles. Built on no true word, the worship of the Moon is as divided as the cultures that carry such customs, and so many small sects and cults across the world may worship this one object, they are not truly part of one religion.

There is truth in some accounts of the enigmatic Man in the Moon, however, and there are times when the Moon has exercised their power in the world, their immortal strength creating lingering impressions that last for the entirety of a race's history. The Viera and the Silver Word they respect as their religion and history holds one such kernel of truth. Once, in their ancient past, the Moon protected their race and home, and the immortal divinity of such protection continues to be their gentle guardian and mother. For centuries, this particular tribe of Kemonomimi have lived under the very proof of their goddess's power, a tree of midnight black wood who's green leaves turn silver with the light of the moon at night. To this day, the tree protects and blesses her children, the Viera, with small miracles and divine gifts. With this proof of their goddess, the Viera follow her words faithfully, to remember they come from nature and to embrace that they are one with the earth.

The Silver Word depicts the Mother Moon as a goddess, who at times takes the form of a tree, a deer with long rabbit ears, or a rabbit with branching deer antlers.

    Tenets:
▱▰▱• Filial piety; the moon is our Mother, the savior and protector of our race. Her blessings protect the jungle that sustains us. Follow her wisdom, and preserve and respect nature, for nature is our home and our life. Without nature, we are not ourselves and we shall perish.
▱▰▱• There is no greater treasure than one's kin and one's loved ones. Protect them, for without each other, we are nothing.

    Penitence:
▱▰▱• Restore and replace what you have destroyed, protecting and nurturing until what you give is better than what you had taken away.
▱▰▱• Carry onward without looking back. Though they may neither forgive nor forget and you may never return, may the Moon guide your way to your new home and kin.

Passive Benefits:
▱▰▱• The influence of Nature's Timekeeper attunes and favors you with those of Evergreen's creations you cherish most. The flora of the subforum that is your home speaks to you. Though, you cannot return their words. You may have only one home.
▱▰▱• The Lady of Beasts blesses your hunt, and should you ever strive to stalk through nature, you may vanish seamlessly into the shadows with neither sight nor sound by spending one activation. This can only be done in a shadow that is at least as big as your body and only if no offensive activations have been used in your preceding and current post.
▱▰▱• The rabbit goddess of the moon gifts you with a crescent of her perception: ears that hear a step above the average shinobi's and eyes that can see through darkness with naught but starlight filtered through dense jungle foliage.
Pray to Yu Yevon
Dream, Fayth
Forever and ever
Grant us prosperity

Information: Cook with mom.

Hands joined, a pale child ran alongside her darker brother, so close were their bodies that their green and white hair entangled in the wind as they leaped and bound. Little balls of energy, these twins were. Little balls of noise, too, as made apparent when, with a loud, united voice, the two shouted, "MOM!". Ears wiggling in excitement, the two tackled as one into the side of their mother.

"We collected everything on the list!"
"Teach us how! How!"

The green haired viera, whose color so closely matched her daughter's, simply laughed and stroked her children's hair. "Indeed you have. Come then, would you like to learn how to make bread?".

"Yes!"

With homely grace, the mother rose from where she had crouched in front of her children and walked to the kitchen to ready all that was needed. A bowl was brought out to the just cleaned table, along with several other kitchen tools.

More than eagerly, perhaps all too eagerly, the children followed after her, basket in tow. They never let go of that basket even as their little digitigrade feet kept close to their mother's skirts. Only when she turned around and asked if they could take a seat did they put their basket up on the table, properly take a seat, and stop nearly tripping their mother.

In the basket, there were all sorts of goodies. The kids had a very successful gathering trip around the neighborhood. A bag of flour took up most of the space. However, there was also a jar of deliciously golden honey, a smaller bag of sugar, and a large bottle of milk, freshly taken from the cow just a few hours earlier this morning.

To the table, the mother brought a few extra ingredients. Salt, to bring out the flavors in the bread, was set to the side. A jug of fresh spring water to create the dough was set down besides the two bowls brought out. Eggs, freshly picked while the kids were out, were carefully placed next to the basket of goodies the children brought. At the same time, the milk and honey were also taken out of the basket. The milk was put aside completely. The honey, as well, for the most part. However, two hearty dollops were scooped out into a small saucer before the milk was put away so that it would not get in the way. Last, and most important, a prepared assortment and dried nuts and fruits was placed, at the end of everything but right in the center, as well, and the children salivated upon seeing the sweet treats.

"For the bread," the mother had to warn them, to which the twins sucked in their saliva and gulped in unison. She smiled warmly to the two, and with a small chuckle, instructed, "Then, let's begin. Sol, Mani. Take a bowl and hold it steady while I pour in the flour."

Of course, as the children were young, an adults hand was still needed. Handling whatever was heavy, the mother carefully and wonderfully taught her little students how to pour in the flour and make a small hole in it. Then, she had them measure out water in small intervals interspersed by mixing the dough with a wooden paddle, at first, then their own two hands as the flour and water mixture became too thick to stir.

Working on her own bread in her own bowl, the mentoring Viera, guided, "Now knead. Over and over. Push your hands into the dough using your weight, then release, take the bottom, fold it over, and again." She demonstrated each instruction with her own smooth motions, and with such a great teacher, the children learned quickly as they listened, saw, and tried for themselves. Though some adjustments had to be made to the dough before the best ingredients could be added: the sweets.

But before that, there was one more thing. The first proof. The children were forced into the greatest torment a child could ever suffer: waiting.

Once the waiting and proofing was done, however, the sweets could be added! The children kneaded with considerably more gusto once they got to add in their spoonful of honey, nuts, and dried fruits. Once done, their creation could be plopped out of the bowl and onto the now flour-covered table. It was dough, but somehow, even shapeless dough could look different. The twins certainly didn't look as good as their mother's, but nonetheless, they did well for their first time.

Taking her dough, the mother viera lifted it and then slammed it onto the table. The twins, watching, lifted the dough and slammed it onto the table, as well. They did so together, of course, four little hands working in tandem. "Now we knead it a little more." The children nodded and, as children were wont to, over kneaded the bread. The disparity between their mother's and theirs was even greater when the bread went onto a pan now for the second proofing, this time in the heaven.

From this point on, due to the rather hot objects surrounding these steps, it was time for the adult to step in completely. Mani and Sol were congratulated and allowed to play in reward for their hard work. Early the next morning, the bread was put into the oven to cook after its final proofing, and Mani and Sol woke up to delicious and sweet bread for breakfast. A reward of great worth! The children eagerly dug their teeth into the bread. [62 sentences]

Information: The vorpal bunny is an elusive creature, seen in the vicinity of each grove only once every few years. The mystical creatures are widely regarded as a gift from the Moon Mother for their rarity and the potency of the dust that comes from their fur. Returning to the grove with one is often a cause for celebration, and processing a vorpal bunny's dust is considered a rite of passage for the viera's salve makers. A common excuse used by viera slackers is that they could have sworn they had seen a vorpal bunny so of course they had to go missing for however long to chase it. Vorpal bunnies aren't necessarily dangerous, but they are difficult to catch.

Digging their teeth into the sweet, fluffy bread, Mani and Sol sat upon a moss-covered log, legs dangling and swinging in the air as they thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon meal. One glance at each other, and they broke down into a fit of giggles. For what reason? Who knew? Probably just the twins. However, what reason was there to not enjoy their sweet life? A tasty lunch in their hands, soft light streaming in from above, and the deliciously damp-clean smell of the fresh earth after a heavy rain from below. Today was a good day.

"What did Mom say we have to do next?" Sol asked after the fit of giggles died down.
Mani responded without missing a beat, "Well, we checked all the places Mom asked of us to see if there's any storm damage. Next, she wanted us to collect all the fruits, berries, and honey we could find for the midsummer festivities."
"Oh! Then let's go to that hive by the river!"
"That one? The one all the way out there? But Mom said to never go past the elderberries tree triplets without her."
"Uhh... But it's pretty close to us. Fine, you're right. Then what about the patch of wild berries west of the grove?"
"Yeah, I just thought of that, too. That would be northeast from where we are."

In unison, the twins swallowed their bread, and for all the differences they had in appearance, they challenged each other in one voice, "Wanna race?"

Likewise, the challenge was accepted, "Bring it on!".

Literally bounding full of energy, the twins shot off, their powerful digitigrade legs giving the illusion that they weren't even touching the ground with their strides. Sol took straight to the branches above, leaping and tumbling through the air as if she weighed nothing. She relished the freedom of the 3d movements, and as much as a young child could have found their calling, she wholly absorbed herself in losing her sense of self in the speed of her running. Mani remained on the ground, where he weaved and sharply maneuvered his body through the underbrush. Every now and then, he'd look up at his sister, making sure she wasn't about to fall. Seeing his sister embrace the rushing winds made his eyes go a-glitter, but her still preferred to hurdle over and crouch under the roots and bushes of the ground. Though his feet barely touched the ground, the firm permanence of the surface gave him a sense of security that he didn't feel comfortable leaving

It was while Mani was tracking the various obstacles in his way that he caught sight of iridescent green and blue feathers quivering. "Huh?" he wondered aloud as he skid to a halt.

Above him, Sol came to a halt soon and stared at her brother.

The quivering feathers came to a standstill. They, too, had heard the young male viera. Freezing, the owner of the feathers seemed to contemplate for a moment... before dashing away in a blue.

And... as any child would... Mani and Sol took off after it without a second thought.

"Woah! Sis, what do you think it is?!"
"I don't know! WAIT!"
"Could it be?!"
"Let's find out, bro! Uwah!"

Two excited kids chasing after pretty and colorful feathers. Sol had just tried (and landed on her face) a dive to get the creature the feather's belonged to.

Mani was ready, cutting off the black body, making it reroute and double back somewhat so that it would leave Sol in the dust while she recovered.

"I saw black!"
"I saw white!"
"Come on! Come on!"

The speed of the two children picked up, and with keen senses and sharp instincts, they worked in natural tandem. Neither success nor failure was on their minds. They didn't make such calculations. They were just excited at what they thought it could be and put forth all their efforts into catching the cute creature.

The vorpal bunny was fast, but children of the viera, blessed with the agility of rabbits and raised in a jungle of a backyard, were no slowpokes either. Children like Mani and Sol, in particular, were exceptions above the exceptions. With a dedication and rabidness of their own, they had since outstripped their peers in the extent to which they embraced the natural world. The twins, especially when they worked together, were more than capable of keeping up with the vorpal bunny.

However, even such blessed children of the viera were not ready to catch the vorpal bunny so soon, even when they worked together. Even adults would have difficulty catching the bunny with only ranged weapons. Before long, the vorpal found a burrow and hastily escaped through the rabbit hole, which is exactly what it did. Unfortunately, just as the black body and white poof streaked underground, Sol, who had been running on the ground since the earlier faceplant, felt herself click into place. The soft earth below her, her toes digging into the slightly muddy ground, felt more and more alive with each step she took, wholly concentrated on moving with the earth to reach her objective. Until, finally, she wasn't just one with the earth in thought, but also physically. It was just her, the earth, and Mani's "Woah!" as he saw her dive into and become one with the ground.

Mani, who had just witnessed the awakening of his sister, stared in wondrous awe at the rippling ground that traced out cleanly the rabbit burrow. The awe quickly became a wide, excited grin, so succinctly explained by Mani's next words, "I want to try too!" and so he did. As if his words a decree and his innocent enthusiasm the fuel, his mind clicked as well. He connected with the dirt he so often traversed over, feeling its every detail between the little toes of his bare paws. His mind was one with the world, and he too slid into becoming earth.

Two children, two innocent children, truly seeing themselves as one with the world. Though, perhaps their innocence was the very reason they could achieve such a mental exercise so easily. Thus, transferring between earth and flesh and earth and flesh, Mani was the first to adapt to this strange dissonance yet resonance within his body and catch the bunny. Though, Sol came tumbling over him not long after.

Absolutely, breathlessly exuberant she was. Everything she felt and loved about running through the treetops, where freedom soared and she felt the least restrained by the earth below, she felt by melding into the earth itself. Her body was as limitless as the dirt that brought forth life. To her, it was absolutely exhilarating.

Mani was just happy to catch the bunny and, as evidenced by the way he started laughing when Sol landed right on him, happy to see his sister so happy. The trip through the earth... He wasn't sure how to put it into words. The connection that still lingered, yes, he treasured it as his sister did, but when he was connected so deeply to the earth, a part of him felt as if it would float away at any second. Without his body of flesh, he felt... strangely bothered.

But! What did that matter? They did it! They caught the vorpal bunny! Mani and Sol did!

"Think Mom will believe us?"
"She has to! Let's go show her!"
"I can't believe we caught a vorpal bunny. This is my first time seeing one. You think it's a vorpal bunny too, right?"
"Yeah, I think so! Ohhh. Mom is going to be so proud of us! And big sister wants to be a salve maker, too!"
"I can't wait!"
"It's not can't! It's we can!"
