Physical Description: Lihyo is fairly average in height for a Pernese woman, though athletically built with medium-tan skin. She has dark brown eyes that lean just a little on the lifeless side, with curly, brown hair that is cut short and maintained that way meticulously. She never presents herself with much fanfare, preferring clean, simple clothing and little in the way of accessories.
Personality: The first thing anybody would notice of Lihyo is that she has a strong preference for personal space - no, she isn’t particularly interested in talking and she’d like at least 5’ between her and the next person when she can get it. Though she understands when that isn’t exactly possible. Having someone want to talk your ear off is pretty high up on her list of annoyances and prying is even worse. The less another person knows her, the better - she doesn’t trust easily or really at all, having been treated like a tradable commodity for so long. Why let someone hurt her with trust?
And she’s not afraid to spell it out like it is - whether that is her preference for being left alone, that she doesn’t want to be somebody’s friend, that something is boring. Lihyo can be absolutely cutting with what commentary she is willing to give. She’s incredibly insensitive to how her words can be taken and is prone to hurting the feelings of others unintentionally - especially if they have pushed their luck and grated on her low tolerance. However, she is not a particularly biting person for her harsh words, and she is not known to lash out as Lihyo is a fairly calm individual. It is that same directness, however, that is one of her better qualities - one can always expect a straight answer out of Lihyo, who says what she means and won’t just dance around your feelings with wishy-washy milky ‘maybe’s.
Perhaps it is because she is a very practical young woman in both action and opinion - she doesn’t hold onto things she doesn’t see having a foreseeable use and doesn’t particularly like frills, pomp, or fanciful things. She is a very low maintenance person and content in being so. In turn, however, she does expect herself to be useful and will be quick to prove herself so. Sometimes to the detriment of everything else. Lihyo is very single-minded and will ignore things that aren’t related to her immediate task. She won’t gossip about eggs on the sands, because she is not thinking about eggs - she is thinking about this chore she is doing right now and how to do it. She’s not thinking about a later chore or any upcoming exciting event or that other thing she promised to do. Unless she’s thinking about that other thing she promised to do. Then she is not thinking about the chore in front of her, eggs, rest days, parties, eggs. Unless she’s thinking about one of those things. While not forgetful, persay, she can struggle to stay on top of a list of things she’s been asked to do unless it is written down for her.
Even then, she may be focusing on that list instead of anything on it.

History: Lihyo isn’t an uncommon story from Nabol - her parents traded her to pay off their debts and she passed through too many hands too early on, eventually finding herself in the care of a wealthier trader who didn’t seem to mind (or perhaps preferred) that a girl the age of 8 was content to keep to herself. That she didn’t dare cause any trouble was also in her favor. But she, like everything else that passed through his hands, was merchandise and she’d be seen off to the Courtesan hall to see if she was a diamond in the rough, or something less fortunate to have.
All she was, however, was rough and there was no amount of polish that could make her charming or sweet. But left to her own devices, she seemed to have a nose for pleasant things and would be returned to the Trader several turns later rather skilled in crafting Perfumes and Colognes (and with a little dabbling, scented creations not meant to be worn). These were things that proved her to be a good investment worth keeping.
Lihyo didn’t much like being an investment but kept it to herself. Her opinions were mostly muted over by those of other people, and her keeper had discovered quickly that she didn’t exactly have the social graces to spend time with other people so things like the return of Thread, what High Reaches Weyr was up to, and the like were mostly gossip overhead but never spoken on. Opinions only half-formed on. Until a bluerider sniffed them out on the way home one evening.
Despite some arguments, the rider would insist his dragon’s nose was never wrong and that Lihyo would make a fine candidate. Lihyo wouldn’t dance around it - she was going, even if there had to be a fight about it. Something that this rider was more prepared to deal with than the Trader was. Fortunately, outside of some venom, bile, and rough-handling, Lihyo would arrive at High Reaches without too much fuss.
The fuss would arrive in trying to settle in around other people and trying to find out if there was any trust inside her heart anymore.
