Name: S’nim
Age: 28
Nameday: 3548.02.20
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Idk!
Weyr: High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Farmer
Physical Description: With shaggy dark brown hair, piercing blue eyes and tanned skin, S’nim could be considered a heartthrob. He’s of middling height and more lanky than muscular.

Personality: Having been trapped underneath the heel of his domineering brother for most of his life has given S’nim a wide rebellious streak that will likely never be tamed. If someone says up, he immediately says down. Being told what to do truly grates at him, especially when it comes from arrogant, perfect know-it-alls. Life as a dragonrider and living at a Weyr has taught him how to bite his tongue and do as he’s told, but you can bet he’ll be thinking something rude. S’nim has always felt that people see him as a ‘lesser’ L’sil. Not as handsome, not as charming, not as capable. S’nim gave up on trying to prove everyone wrong, and now bluntly wields his anger like a weapon against irritations and annoyances--people included.

The man seems to be perpetually ticked off about something, and if his temper really gets riled, he doesn’t hesitate to lash out with cutting comments and scathing remarks. Even if he’s not particularly angry, you can bet that S’nim will have a verbal jab to toss out at his fellows--even those he considers to be friends. He will not hesitate to be petty, if he must, and Faranth help those who cross him. It may not be immediate, but S’nim will be hellbent on paying the offender back in spades. He’s clever enough to plot and plan, and while his craftiness used to be applied to maliciously pranking his older brother, he now uses it in more practical ways: serving his own emotional ends.

For all his anger and wicked tongue, S’nim is by no means a stupid man. He is remarkably quick-witted, and doesn’t hesitate to use his brains to help him navigate through all sorts of tricky situations. He is an avid reader and enjoys gathering new knowledge just for the sake of having it. He also pays close attention to people and his environment, able to note when something has changed or seems out of place. Whether or not he acts on it is another story.

When S'nim does choose to act on something... well, that normally means his interest has been piqued. Though he might be selective, he can become extremely devoted to things (or people!) that he decides are worth his time. Being a dragonrider is something that he's willingly poured his entire life into, and no matter what sort of nonsense he has to put up with, he intends to do his part and do it well.

Positive Trait List Intelligent, Astute, Passionate
Negative Trait List Angry, Rebellious, Snide

History: The fourth born child of seven, Sanim grew up with his brothers, his father Luranon, and his two wives, Salina and Beel. They were a happy family, and the boys were taught how to tend to the farm that was their livelihood. The only problem in Sanim’s life as far as he was concerned was his oldest brother, Lufinsil. He resented Lufinsil acting as though he was in charge of them all, and would often pull pranks on his siblings (but especially Lufinsil) just to prove that no one was the boss of him.

As the boys grew older, Sanim began to feel more and more like he was stuck in Lunfinsil’s shadow. He was never quite as handsome, quite as smart, quite as good. Then, to top it all off, his brother was whisked away to Ista Weyr and immediately Impressed a bronze dragon. As far as Sanim was concerned, dragonrider L’sil was welcome to stay away! As Turns passed, more of his brothers were Searched and taken--and when Sanim turned fifteen, he, too, would have his chance. Ironically, he too would become a candidate at Ista… but there was no magical Impression at his first clutch.

Two Turns went by until the fateful day that would change Sanim’s life forever. A green dragon hatched from one of the many eggs, shaking herself off before marching through the gathered candidates with her head held up proudly. There were many that didn’t give her more than a glance, their eyes fixed hopefully on the browns, the bronzes--or, perhaps even hoping for a queen. Just like his brother, Sanim thought darkly. Slowly, the hatchling’s eyes began to swirl with reds, and her proud, almost regal demeanor was tossed aside for snarls and swipes with her claws. She shouldered her way through the rest, snapping at any who didn’t get out of her way fast enough only to come to a sharp and sudden halt before Sanim.

Sanim! You, at least, have the good sense to appreciate your Iblith. Come! I tire of our present company.

S’nim and Iblith remained at Ista long enough to complete training, and eventually, he and his four other dragonriding brothers returned home. They wouldn’t be there for long, however. Thread returned with devastating consequences--and L’sil, always thinking he was in charge, announced that they would go to Western. Before he could speak, M’non spoke up and argued that they should instead go to the much better prepared High Reaches.

S’nim couldn’t have cared less where his brothers chose to go--but if L’sil was going to Western, then he was sharding going to High Reaches, no question. The brothers split up, but settling at High Reaches wouldn’t be easy. S’nim was considered the lowest of the low on the hierarchy, and he had to quickly learn how to bite his tongue around his superiors. Iblith was outraged at the mere thought of having to bow and scrape to bronzes and queens simply because of her hide, and did little to hide her displeasure. Still, she doesn’t lash out too strongly, if only for the sake of her rider. In truth, S’nim is fine with having so little expected of him. He isn’t L’sil after all.

Other: So many brothers...

DRAGON
Name: Iblith
Age: 11
Color: Green
Size: 43’
Physical Description: Sleek and delicately proportioned, Iblith is a beautiful specimen of a green. Her dainty figure lends itself well to speed, but she can’t take as much of a hit as some of the bigger greens.
Personality: As sharp-tongued and clever as her rider, Iblith is a capable creature who demands to be judged by her skills and strengths--not the color of her hide. She is not fond of metallics who, in her opinion, receive all the fawning and adoration simply because they exist. Though Iblith doesn’t shy from hard work, she is still very much a lady and enjoys being pampered and fawned over. Make no mistake, though. If insulted or riled up, Iblith will not hesitate to verbally rip someone to pieces. She believes that respect should be earned, not taken for granted, and Faranth help those who tell her otherwise.
