tab Legend says that once, long ago, the city-state of Sunagakure no Sato raised the greatest special forces the world had ever known. From specialists in the field of espionage to the hidden assassins that terrorized their political rivals, the Shinobi that headed the program hid them away beneath the shifting sand buried deep within the desert to ensure that none could find their base of operations and thus learn the truths of their many projects and operations that spanned the globe. Perhaps it was all true, but to the natives that ruin now exists as the Sandborn Vortex, a region of the Radiant Wastes that has seemed to have captured a near-perpetual sandstorm above it. Shaped much like the vortex of an ant lion's nest, with the very top of the structure peeking from its hidden home at the bottom, approaching the Vortex is only half of the battle with the return journey alone likely the harder part of the traversal. However, there does appear to be a reprieve, as the Storm ceases at the setting of the sun, no matter what time of year it is or how the time for the setting changes, leaving the entryway below open, though on a timer.
tab You see, when the storm ends the sand that had been forced away by the powerful winds begin to shift and destabilize, causing the sand to slowly begin to fall and bury the building once more. This process finishes as the sun begins to rise, always like clockwork, and just as the storm it matters not how the days and nights shift in length it always happens. What causes this mechanic is unknown, and even the scholars of the locals who have lived here for generations know nothing about it.
tab Yet to those who find their way in they might find that the journey itself is easy by comparison. During the days before the fall of old Sunagakure, in the Era of Regret, the building was believed to be one of the most fortified in the country and thus was used as a storage facility for top security projects and documentation. As such, getting in is far easier than actually taking anything from it. Locals have indicated that none have ever entered, but the truth is that many have, and simply never returned to tell the tale. From strange, magical golems, nightmare beasts that roam the dark halls, to scientific and eldritch experiment subjects, the secrets of the Armor have but one thing to say to any who would dare to lay claim to these treasures: The Armory Defends its Own.

tab • Floor 1: Training Hall - Both an entrance and the main gathering hall for those who lived here, the Training Hall is large enough to room comfortably several hundred people, along with a mess hall, a kitchen, offices and other main-building functions for the establishment. Once specialists walked these halls, but something has taken up residence here that does not believe in sharing. Strange, otherworldly shapes wander the halls made of a mixture of sand, glass, and softly glowing stones with stiff motor functions that give the semblance of puppets with a newly trained puppeteer. These beings jerk and twitch and convulse their way through the halls in geometric patterns, their "faces" a macabre reflection of shinobi that once graced these halls, though their master remains unseen. This alien intelligence wishes to find a way to escape, but cannot move under the light of the moon for reasons unknown. Monster, or machine, the true nature of these beings remain unknown. Defeating it will be difficult, as it is hostile to nearly all life, yet communication may be possible if the right leverage were used...
tab • Floor 2: Prison // Holding Cells - When the tunnels were locked down all but those sufficiently immortal were euthanized by various means, their corpses and carcasses left in suspended animation to ensure the lack of rot over time. Those who did meet the immortal criteria were locked in their cells and given whatever would be necessary to sustain them, but without knowing for sure just how long it would be before humans returned there was no way to guarantee what would happen to their minds and spirits. In short, they broke. The ensuing madness of eternities did something unexpected, it tore a Rift into the Echoes, drawing from the depths of what best equated to hell the crawling chaos of the darkness between the stars. As such, the beings once dead were reanimated by the Corruptive powers of the Echoes, leaving their undead forms to shamble around in the darkness of a floor stretching no more than a thousand feet in all directions but which, functionally, has no end. Physics here are warped, with reality itself changing in nature to give a near real-life horror show, with the twisted minds of the immortals serving as "domains" within this hellhole that function in their own way. Survival will need an agreement with a sufficiently powerful being to manifest their will, but escape? That's a whole other story...
tab • Floor 3: Storage // Containment - The final floor, and strangely the safest, this floor of the building is where the true treasures lie. An Artificial Intelligence lives here in the shape of a titanic dragonoid Mecha built from 5th Era technology that bears the designation of Siniku [based on the character of the same name as made by Flawed Anubis]. Fiercely loyal to the ancient sand empire, Siniku will only allow others to dare take from it's hoard of stashed Sunagakure artifacts if proper authorization is granted, which appears to change depending on how the AI feels. It also ensures that if any enemy from the above two floors makes its way here they are exterminated with extreme prejudice.

tab • Defenses - Please see each Point of Interest and the defenses listed in the description. Trying to go through the storm without some sort of extreme defense is suicide, for each post spend in the storm grants one [1] dose of Radiation. It is only safe to enter by night, and even then, it is no easy feat to get out safely as the entire building is buried three [3] feet for every hour of night that passes.
tab • Natural Location - The Vortex is considered part of the ancient Empire, and as such is considered sacrilege to enter here by any not of the Blue Order of the locals. As such, Blue Adepts patrol the region, and will attack any not of their own number who approaches.
