Name: Tasza
Age: 20
Nameday: 3556.01.04
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Weyr: High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank: Weyrling
Previous Rank/Craft: Non-Hall miner

Physical Description:
Well-built and sturdy, Tasza cuts a rather imposing figure from the start. She stands at roughly 6'0", and the physical labor of her former craft has ensured that she's by no means a slight girl--she can go toe to toe with any of her siblings, and makes a point to keep herself in good physical shape. Her hair is a smooth jet black and brushes her shoulders when she doesn't keep it swept back into a ponytail, and she's not one to allow much of it to escape, either--while she doesn't mind the occasional smudge or dusting of dirt from her work, being blatantly disheveled is out of the question, and she's careful to maintain herself to good standards. Her features are somewhat soft in contrast to the rest of her, with almond-shaped gray eyes and a somewhat upturned nose. Tasza is especially proud of her tattoos, with extensive blackwork sleeves on both her arms from her wrists up to the bicep--the designs pictured are smooth and sinuous, reminiscent of vines or flowing water. When stressed, she traces along them to calm her nerves.

Personality:
In all things, Tasza operates much like a guardian or a big sister--she's always keeping an eye out for others, and you can be sure that she'll do everything in her power to make sure that things stay above board. She can be relied upon to be a moral compass if needed, and is ready to work as hard as possible in the pursuit of something better. While it's easy for her to get a little too wrapped up in her hopes and dreams, Tasza is by no means afraid to put the effort in to actually get there, and she does her best to see setbacks as mere obstacles to overcome rather than failures.
She's quick to offer a sympathetic ear, and truly does care about practically everyone she comes across. She may not like them, necessarily, but Tasza is a firm believer in giving everyone their fair share, and knows how to be the better person in response to most petty rivalries. Still, she's stubborn and slow to change her mind, which means that she'll definitely be stewing about any slights for a while regardless, should they arise; Tasza doesn't enjoy leaving things on negative notes, and will spend plenty of time ruminating on how things could have gotten to a breaking point. She may not be as quick to extend the olive branch as she'd like, but Tasza knows that it's in everyone's best interests if she at least smooths things over when possible, even if she herself isn't necessarily over what happened.
She has some trouble accepting that she's allowed to have her negative emotions, and that it's perfectly fine to simply...not like someone. Even if it's frustrating to think about sometimes, Tasza tries to see things from other people's perspectives if at all possible, hoping to gain some sort of insight as to why it is they do what they do--it may not have much bearing on her own opinions of what happened, but it may explain things one way or another, and that's what she's after. Understanding the why of it is just as important as getting a handle on what happened in the first place, and she sees little reason not to do her due diligence.

She doesn't put much value on her own comfort, and doesn't shy away from making necessary sacrifices when the chips are down. Tasza is an intensely duty-driven person, and what she can do for others is her utmost concern--working for the betterment of something greater than herself is all she's ever wanted to do, and becoming a Candidate has reinforced that. She follows precise schedules and any orders to the letter, but isn't anywhere near insistent that others do the same; as long as they're doing their best, that's what matters to her. Besides, if they need help, she'll be around to ensure they get it. Tasza understands that her level of self-discipline isn't the best for everyone, and would much rather others work in ways that are comfortable for them, as opposed to enforcing some shade of conformity.
Tasza pays a lot of attention to individuals, and her highly social nature makes it easy for her to make connections with others--she makes a point to make as many friends as possible, hoping to be able to provide as much support as possible to everyone that needs it. At times, this comes at the expense of herself, and she knows she has to find a better balance between what she wants to do and what she can do. Tasza is the kind of person to have her nose to the grindstone at all times, and she finds it a little hard to actually let herself relax enough to stop being in work mode. Outside of the context of duty and discipline, however, Tasza is a bit more of a troublemaker than she'd ever like to admit--she has a sharp sense of humor, and while she might enjoy the thought of causing a little bit of a commotion, she absolutely refuses to indulge it in practice. Her goal is to keep the boat floating, and the best way to do that is not to rock it, thank you very much. She's a bit uptight, and seems to be allergic to letting herself have fun--underneath that, though, she has a good heart, and wants nothing more than to help where she can.

Positive Trait List: Empathetic, protective, honest, duty-bound.
Negative Trait List: Bullheaded, overbearing, self-sacrificing, workaholic.

History:
The oldest of six children born to a pair of Nabol miners, Tasza knew from early on that she'd have to work hard in order to thrive in her home. At first, she'd really only had herself to be worried about, but as her siblings began to add up, she began to step up more and more around the household, willingly volunteering as her mother's veritable second-in-command to help keep the wheels turning in their household. Although life wasn't exactly easy in Nabol, Tasza's family did their best with what they had, providing physical labor to the Lord Holder's mines with as much dignity as anyone--they were working for the sake of the hold itself rather than any specific person, as her father reminded her, and she took that knowledge to heart. Being a part of some bigger entity that couldn't be hurt was a comforting constant in the uncertainty and danger of Nabol's environment, and Tasza clung to it where she could.

The return of Threadfall wiped out the majority of their extended family, leaving Tasza's branch of it clinging even more tightly together in response. She became nervous about letting her siblings out of her sight, nerves worked up over the mere concept of Thread--although having High Reaches Weyr close by to protect them made her feel somewhat better, she found it hard to relax all the same. She joined her parents in the mines, eager to turn her focus toward something she could affect instead of worrying about what she couldn't fight. She was no dragonrider, even if she'd certainly entertained a fantasy or two here and there--the reality of it was that her role was elsewhere, and she'd do what she could to contribute.
When she was nineteen, however, her uncle returned to visit, coming astride the back of a dragon--he'd Impressed before Tasza had been born, and with Thread to contend with, he'd quite understandably had little time to see how his family was doing. After catching up with her parents, he remarked that he had something of an announcement: his Brown had noticed that Tasza had potential, and was of the opinion that she'd make a fine Candidate. Tasza herself was bewildered by the concept, but it wasn't long before she found herself going back to the Weyr with her uncle all the same. This was her chance to do more for people--she could fight for Pern, and she intended to do just that.

Following the events of Banshideth and Balizarth's clutch, it became clear that she'd underestimated herself--perhaps she might be something of a dragonrider after all.

Other:
She can bench press you, and she's unusually good at throwing her voice. She practiced the latter in order to add something special to reading her siblings bedtime stories.

DRAGON
Name: Kiloth
Personality:
The first thing people realize once they meet Kiloth is that he's sarcastic. He's always ready with a dry, biting comment about whatever's going on, and loves providing a running commentary to Tasza and the few others he likes--typically, he prefers to stay somewhat on the sidelines rather than being directly in the thick of it, wanting a better vantage point for the day to day goings-on of everyone else. He's not a social butterfly, no, but can be convinced to take part with a little careful convincing, even if he's going to be a little bit of a wet blanket until he warms up to the situation. He doesn't make friends quickly, and his trust is somewhat difficult to obtain, but he's a rather stalwart ally once he's decided to keep someone around.

He has a rather biting temper, and earning his ire is far from advisable, but genuinely, Kiloth is by no means as intimidating and belligerent as he may appear. He's a dependable, gentle soul who cares very deeply about the handful of people that see fit to tolerate him, and he'd throw himself into Thread for any of them. While he can be somewhat self-sacrificing, given his preference for keeping his friends and close confidants as safe and stable as possible, Tasza will prove to be a grounding, stabilizing element for him, as well as an obstacle to throwing himself under the bus quite so much. Kiloth is far more emotional than he'd like others to know, and although his sarcasm is by no means an act, he truly doesn't mean most of it in any kind of malicious way. His siblings are of the utmost importance to him, and while Kiloth may not be the best at making friends among them, he has no intentions of leaving them behind in any way, shape, or form.

Kiloth is somewhat of a traditionalist Blue, understanding that the color hierarchy does have a bit of a purpose--but the most important part is that it's only a bit. He disagrees with the lesser status of Greens and Blues, and although he's more than capable of following orders, he won't keep his mouth shut about any complaints he may have in the right company.
He hasn't fooled everyone with his attempts to appear as a model High Reaches Blue, but he's far less inclined to be seen as that among his fellow Blues and Greens. Browns, perhaps, but that's more on a case-by-case basis than anything. Metallics will have a hard time getting his more genuine personality out of him, as he prefers to save his authentic self for the chromatics, who he feels have an easier time relating to him. After all, when has a glittering metallic hide been subject to the same minimizing treatment? Truly, he'd love to see High Reaches reform the hierarchy, but he knows it isn't going to happen. Instead, he's content to stay in his niche, doing what he can to better the condition of himself and other chromatics in little ways.

Positive Traits: Reliable, loving, witty, loyal.
Negative Traits: Snippy, solitary, abrasive, self-sacrificing.

Egg Size: Medium
Adult Size: 47’

Physical Attributes: Kiloth is a sleek, smooth dragon, although he's by no means a slight one--in fact, he's a rather sturdy Blue, built for power above all else. He's somewhat reminiscent of a shark, really, with an ample amount of padding over him that serves to give him an aerodynamic figure. He has a bit of an underbite, and his bottom teeth stick out regardless of what he does; this, combined with his heavy brow ridges and somewhat small, sharp eyes, give him a far more brutish appearance than what would be fitting. Kiloth's wings are just as sturdy as the rest of him, and while his wingspan isn't especially impressive, he's a powerful flier, with a surprising amount of endurance considering his rather small size. One of his tailforks is noticeably longer than the other, and he does not appreciate it being pointed out.

Additional Notes: In flights, Kiloth will almost always prefer the company of a fellow Blue or rarely a Brown--that’s not to say that he won’t take a shine to a particularly interesting Green, but he’s rather firm on his preference. He’s also a shameless cuddler with those he trusts, and if given the opportunity, will always be as up in your personal space as is possible.

Why Me: Tasza needed to loosen up, first and foremost. Kiloth adores her as she is, of course, but that spark of mischief buried so far down was what drew him to her initially--they’re kindred spirits, and while Kiloth still has some maturing to do as he grows older, Tasza will prove to be a good influence on him. In Kiloth, Tasza finds her number one ally, and Kiloth will help her grow beyond simply being a great worker for her family. Now, she’s a dragonrider, and nothing from Nabol or anywhere else can change that.
Fortunately, they match rather well in personality and beliefs overall, and they’re quick to come to agreements about most things. Kiloth needed someone as even-keeled as Tasza, but he needed her self-regulation more--she’s there to keep him from getting too distant from others, too mean with his commentary, or running himself ragged for the sake of others. They’re similar enough to where they won’t take each other’s advice as anything other than that, as they both can get where they’re coming from; together, they form a unified, reliable pair that will grow up to be veritable workhorses for the weyr.

One thing -- How much of a shark is this guy like? I feel like this dragon is half-deformed with the underbite, tiny eyes, mis-matched tail forks, and aerodynamic plush. I couldn't tell if you were trying to turn him fully into a shark with wings or if that was just trying to get us a visual.

All dragons have large, bulbous, eyes -- when you refer to them as small do you just mean smaller compared to others? How much smaller? Because if they're too small, that could cause problems when fighting Thread or seeing what's in their air space--which could be dangerous during Threadfall, and could put not just them at risk, but their wingmates.

That said, we're willing to work with it so long as you're not trying to make them look too much unlike their kin.

Lastly, can you please make sure you've got all the below filled out for this dragon? I see at a glance we're missing the Why Me and the Egg Size portion. :3 We had a template to use for approvals which required the following information:

DRAGON
Name:
Personality

Positive Traits:
Negative Traits:
Egg Size: Small, Medium, Large
Adult Size:

Additional Notes: Flame Length? Flight Interests? Other interesting things to note

TBF, it was spoilered, so easy to miss. xXx

Everything was looking great though so don't see why we can't get this duo approved once the Why Me and Egg Size are filled in!
