Physical Description:
A tall, gangly youth, Kazyro still has that look of not quite having filled his body yet. His limbs are long and slender. His stance is a little awkward, a little lacking in refinement… Despite being 6'2, he seems to just fade into the background. He has dark skin, though his fingers and legs are marred by various nicks and cuts from his former life. His build suits long-distance running, and he has a surprising amount of discrete muscle tone and stamina.
Kazyro might be considered handsome, in a cute, gawky kind of way. He has short, curly hair, often adorned with a colourful bandana. His face has not shed its boyish roundness, although hints of stubble age him and lend him maturity. He has sea-green eyes, inherited from his mother, and a dazzling, charming smile that adds warmth and cheekiness to his overall look. Roguish might be too strong a term, but if he applied himself in maintaining his appearance, Kazyro could be quite striking.
He prefers loose clothing, and tends to wear more colourful garments, life permitting. He favours heavy boots and practical wear over luxury and fashion. One of his most treasured possessions is a golden bead bracelet, made by his younger sister. It reminds him of home and the family he left behind.
Personality:
An easy-going fellow who enjoys life's little things, Kazyro tends to focus on the small joys and good times. Sure, the world is full of worry, but his levity and joie-de-vivre shield him against the bleakest moments. He's fond of practical jokes and wordplays, and makes a lot of time for optimistic folk who look on the bright side of life.
He is possessed with a deep desire for adventure, drawn to exploring the horizon in the very depths of his soul. His wanderlust was tamed somewhat when he Impressed, finding his so-called 'anchor' at last. Still, exploring the peaks and caves of the High Reaches region fascinates and captivates him- restless, Kazyro is most content when he is moving around and experiencing something awesome.
His insouciance and lack of care for the serious parts of life holds him back a little. He lacks a sense of responsibility, and his wingleader may need to remind him of the importance of his duties to Pern- if his dragon hasn't already done so. His casual approach to life leaves him somewhat emotionally shallow, too, and Kazyro makes a poor confidant. He doesn't like drama, or politics, and he isn't really interested in tragedy. He pulls away when things seem serious, or tactlessly applies his brand of joking fun to 'fix' the situation.
When it comes to social interactions, Kazyro is rather oblivious to his effect on others. He can be tactless, but he is also evasive on matters of the heart. It's hard for him to imagine how tricky emotions can be- life is so straight-forwards for him, after all. It's not through a callous lack of empathy- Kazyro can care, he just doesn't understand why people get themselves all muddled up with confusing or sad things. There's so much out there to experience and enjoy, after all! His inability to commit to something substantial and long-term means he's likely to fall into a relationship than chase one. Chances are, the one who wins his affection will be a fast and long-lasting friend first.

History:
First born son of a wherhandler and a journeyman healer, Kazyro had a steady and fulfilling childhood at Black Sand Hold. He loved his island home, and spent a lot of his formative Turns exploring (under his parents' ever vigilant eye). He had little mind for Harper lessons, although he was not a dull child, and when the question of his craft came to light, his teachers were rather stumped. He was competent but unengaged, they claimed, and needed something physical to occupy him.
Karrodin, his father, considered training the lad as a future wherhandler, but Kazyro took his fate into his own hands and signed on as a shiphand beneath Captain Lorogan, of the Western Triumph. Sailing and fishing became everything to Kazyro, who yearned to explore the new horizons teasing him from those black, sandy shores. Lorogan was stern but fair, and held very anti-pirate beliefs that he hammered into his crew.
As young Kazyro spent longer and longer away from home with each trip, his parents gifted him a firelizard egg at age fourteen. It soon hatched a fun-loving, gentle little green that Kaz named Bubbles, for the markings on her hide.
In his sixteenth Turn, Thread began to fall again. Chaos and pandemonium ensued. Fortunately, Kazyro's family survived, as well as the ship upon which he served. When he returned to shore, he was brought low by the devastation. He stayed landside for a Turn, helping fellow Holders rebuild.
In his seventeenth Turn, he was Searched by Western Weyr to Stand for Vimiath and Blundarth's clutch of 25. Unsuccessful, he nonetheless stayed at the Weyr, helping out with his fishing skills. He participated in candidate swaps when Western and High Reaches were on good terms, but had a remarkable lack of success. The chores, physical training and lessons continued, with Kazyro questioning if he was better off returning to the Fishercraft as a seafarer. His father encouraged him to continue Standing in a letter, noting how proud he was of his son. Buoyed by the unexpected encouragement, Kazyro decided to continue to Stand until he aged out.
It wasn't until Zenobiath's maiden clutch that Kaz's luck changed. It was a routine swap to High Reaches by this point, with the regular bothersome cold to accompany him on the trip. At least the Hatching Grounds were warm, and the young man watched as one after another, the newborn dragons found their partner.
At some point, a large sized egg revealed its newest addition to Pern… or rather, additions! Two dragons spilled from the shell- one a rather serious and considerate looking green, the other a blue. The green dragon took her time inspecting the candidates, sometimes sniffing and eyeing them up for minutes at a time. Kazyro's interest waxed and waned as other dragons hatched around the newest pair, but he stood to attention as the green settled before him- her blue sibling loping towards the healers.
The minutes stretched on- it felt like candlemarks sweating beneath this unwavering stare. Then, without prompting, a cool voice slipped into his mind, twisting about his own soul, settling down in a space he never realised was empty.
Yes… You are definitely worthy. Silvaciath senses your potential. But there is much to adjust. Please, arrange for some food… I hunger and require a bath before this goo becomes positively permanent.
Kazyro blinked… he'd… he'd Impressed. He'd found a dragon who thought him… well, worthy.
Well.
That was… amazing!
Please don't make me wait longer than I have to. It's very undignified. Shall we go?
And so began K'ro's new life as a dragonrider. Though his heart may rest with his family and Western Weyr, Silvaciath drummed home the importance of faithfulness to one's family and duty, and the young man has adjusted to High Reaches as his new home. With Silvaciath's guidance, K'ro even became a decent rider, his love for exercise and drills making up for his lacklustre enthusiasm for theory lessons. The two now dutifully fight Thread, having narrowly avoided some bad scores along the way.

Name: Silvaciath
Origin of Name:
The Black Forest Horse is an endangered horse from the southern part of Germany. The Black Forest, for which the horse is named, is located in the mountainous state of Baden-Württemberg, popular for mining and forestry, and in more recent times as a tourist destination. It has been called many things throughout history, including Abnoba mons, for the Celtic deity who was said to guard the forest.
Silvaciath borrows her name from the old Roman name for Black Forest, Silva Marciana (translating to "Marcynian Forest").
Inspiration: Black Forest Horse
The Black Forest Horse is sturdy and strong, and was developed for working purposes. Due to their adaptability, they were able to thrive in the challenging highlands landscape, and served farmers well during pre-industrial times. Nowadays, with the introduction of the first studbook and breeding regulations, the Black Forest Horse has developed into a well-rounded, versatile work and show family-horse.
With its unique colouring requirements, the Black Forest Horse is a rather spectacular horse to behold. It boasts a chestnut coat with a flaxen mane: its coat can vary from pale to almost black, and its mane may appear silvery, earning it the affectionate 'Dark Fox' nickname.

Personality:
A complicated creature, Silvaciath may, at first, appear a little stuffy and aloof. In reality, she is a dedicated and steadfast creature, never wavering from her duty or her hearts' desires. She has no time to waste on tangents or inconsequential things. Life has a designated path, a series of challenges to meet and conquer, and Silvaciath plans on achieving all that a dragon can.
In a way, this has made Silvaciath a little intolerant of foolishness or pettiness. She has a harsh response to tomfoolery, verbally lashing those who show a lack of responsibility and seriousness. Silvaciath is a sensitive soul despite this apparent abrasiveness, consumed by her own expectations and fear of disappointing others. All duty and no play could surely break her poor spirit.
Reserved and aloof, Silvaciath is not the most social of creatures. In fact, this dragon selects her friends very carefully: ambitious-minded, of course, clever, but not too clever as to pass over Silvaciath in favour of more scintillating company… as devoted as she is to Weyr and Pern would be good. The few who do meet Silvaciath's exacting requirements are granted an assiduously loyal companion. With them, this green will exchange quasi-pleasant niceties: Silvaciath is not above the occasional flattery and sweet words, especially for her loved ones.
Some may describe this dragon as high-maintenance, but truly Silvaciath just wants to be the best she can be. She is a wonder to behold, after all, and as such the requirements for frequent baths and oiling are for a good cause. She has a keen interest in human music and dancing, and enjoys watching festivities unfold before her (perhaps Silvaciath is entertained by the fantasy that she is the guest of honour). Regal and sophisticated, Silvaciath is choosy when it comes to the important things in life: a mate will be scrutinised for months before pursuit, and Silvaciath's own Impression was the result of great (and lengthy) deliberation. Her rider's furnishings and clothes are often examined before permitting guests or outside-the-weyr-interaction. She has an eye for detail and design that is impressive, even by human standards; when combined with her judgemental, exacting attitude, Silvaciath would make a fantastic Searchdragon in the future.

Physical Attributes:
Sturdy and strong, Silvaciath is a muscular dragon. She excels at stamina-related tasks, but is not as acrobatic as some of her brethren. Silvaciath has a surprisingly short neck and tail, but somehow still manages to look elegant and beautiful.
Additional Notes:
Her flights are rarely engaged with an emotional approach, and are carefully planned and considered. Silvaciath is a deliberate flier, both in Flights and Falls, and manoeuvres are only attempted if she is certain of success. She makes an excellent fighting dragon due to her obedient, high-achieving nature.
She is the twin of Blue Kinzigtalth, of Sh’ao (Zaikt).
Impression Effect:
Kazyro's devil-may-care demeanour will be given a makeover: no longer will he wander aimlessly, instead he shall be reminded of his purpose each and every day. Sure, slipping off for an adventure on a restday is a strong and tempting possibility, but Kazyro will learn to balance fun with duty. He will emerge from this bond a better, more responsible man, and will grow to care for those his dragon adores.

Kazyro, even though deliberations took a while, Silvaciath is certain to serve you well. Silvaciath's devotion to duty and family is a grounding focus in Kazyro's life. This serious dragon provides sobriety to the nonchalant youth, and Kazyro can benefit from her no-nonsense approach to life. Silvaciath's certainty and decisiveness will appeal to Kazyro's easy-going nature: neither bonded likes complications.
In turn, Kazyro provides his dragon with good humour and the ability to relax a little. In fact, Silvaciath may even find herself enjoying life more in her rider's company. Kazyro will encourage his dragon to open up and engage with others, even if both may be a bit tactless at times.
