Physical Description:
Of average height and developing curves, Lafyrra is embracing her transition from girl to woman with fanfare and much ado. She likes to be glamorous, choosing pretty over practical at any given opportunity. If possible, she'd embellish all of those ugly, plain candidate robes so people actually look appealing to Impress. Is it any wonder why those dragons get bored of their selection, really?
In reality, Fyfy catches the eye because of her 'extraness', from her vibrant, cheeky smile to the skip in her step and the mischievous glint in her eyes. She has a pixie-like air about her, with large, expressive golden eyes, a rounded nose splattered with freckles, and an easy, charming smile. Long, wavy brown hair is her pride and joy, cared for and maintained in loose plait. It reaches just past her behind when let loose, falling in gentle ringlets.
Her favourite colours are brown and gold, as she believes they complement her skin tone and features. Easily cold, she has a penchant for layers, especially ponchos and capelets (they're just so elegant, don't you know)? She likes to collect shiny things, such as special rocks and shimmery seashells- her pockets may be filled with her latest interesting find.
Personality:
A bright and vivacious young woman, Lafyrra is all glitz and glamour and… Well… Sadly… somewhat shallow. She is charming and chatty, but also self-absorbed and somewhat selfish. The world might as well revolve around her, ya know, because she's so amazinggg. Her self-confidence is certainly not lacking, and those thrust into her presence might find themselves emboldened by her utterly indomitable aura. She has this way of sweet-talking herself into- and out of- anything.
Beneath this shimmery surface lies an imaginative, creative soul: Lafyrra is nothing if not passionate about her singing. She is readily able to transfer her passion and enthusiasm into projects that hold her attention: for instance, becoming a candidate has renewed her interest in dragon-related ballads, and she is more inclined to the necessary menial work she might once have disdained. Unfortunately, her enthusiasm is not exactly bound by reality, and Fyfy is the kind of girl to carry unrealistic and unreasonable expectations of the world around her. What do you mean, she can't sing a dragon to her side? Don't dragons love singing? And why can't she use her harper talents instead of being made to cook and clean in the kitchens? Bah.
Lafyrra is somewhat inclined to childish strops when things don't go her way, and requires a firm hand to understand how the world works and her place within it. She doesn't necessarily resist or dislike authority- she's just the type of person who requires being told in order to understand that no, she can't just have things her way because she complained about them.
Fyfy has a bit of a catty side, and can be somewhat snide and condescending when she feels like people aren't on her oh-so-amazing level. However, she is not above flattery: both aimed at herself and delivered to others. Impress her, and you will find in her an ardent admirer and big-talker. She loves stories of heroics and adventure, and will eat up any tale, tall or not. She will often devise stories of her own with which to impress her peers and friends, although she is the sort to try and find adventure first before making it up.
Energetic and full of good humour, Lafyrra sees herself as the life of the party, and very little stops her in her tracks. She is unflappable for the most part, and her emotional, vulnerable side is revealed only to those nearest and dearest. Though she prides herself on having a large collection of friends, only few of them are considered true, and Lafyrra would move mountains for them. As much as she thinks she's the dragon's headknobs, her friends are pretty sharding amazing too (otherwise she wouldn't have befriended them).

History:
Last-born of five, Fyfy has three older brothers and an older sister. She has always been babied and beloved by her parents, who thought she could do no wrong; spoiled where her siblings might have been reprimanded instead. She loved to be loved, and grew addicted to the feeling of validation her parents gave her. To this day, the validation and affection of others is something she craves, and can be used as a way to manipulate her into doing less than pleasant tasks.
She didn't necessarily excel in Harper lessons, but her enthusiasm and charming manner endeared her to the teaching Journeyman, who recommended her to the craft. Fyfy loved to sing, but had some struggles committing all of the essential ballads to mind. She worked hard to be recognised and selected for choir signing at Gathers, and loved the praise and applause that came with it.
During one of her childhood adventures, she and Natiri, one of her closest friends, stumbled across a clutch of firelizard eggs. Natiri, a young, valiant and generous young lad, offered her the first choice of eggs: Fyfy found a large, shimmery shell, whilst Natiri opted for something more his speed. Later, Lafyrra's egg hatched a delightfully gorgeous brown with beautiful markings- whom she named Monarchy. He might not been the gold she was expecting, but she was both surprised (and a little excited) that a baby queen hatched from Natiri's egg instead. She may not have the most sparkly of accessories, but Monarchy's handsomeness could not be denied, and love and attention was lavished upon him.
When Thread fell, her Hold was saved by those daring Dragonriders of legend. She hadn't given them much thought beyond the songs, but now they consumed her daydreams. When given an opportunity to Stand, Lafyrra raced home and convinced her parents to let her go. Worried and reluctant at first, they eventually conceded to her begging and pleading. It helped that Natiri, oh so responsible and level-headed, had also been Searched; her parents secretly believed that he would look after her, and keep her out of trouble.
There was a bit of a culture shock at first, and Lafyrra suffered a few days of homesickness. She slowly grew to love how the Weyr worked, despite her lack of luck at Hatchings. Unfortunately, as tensions rose between Weyr and Holds, the tithes stopped coming. Rumours spread that her Hold was amongst those that had ceased their tributes, leaving the girl guilt-ridden behind her cheeky smile and self-assured demeanour. She worked extra hard during the Era of Fishing, showing a great deal of tenacity in the face of utter inexperience. Still, the thought that her family might no longer support her… Or the Weyr she called home… It rocked her to her very foundations.
