Physical Description: Tall and curvy, but with the kind of muscle that come from decades of regular hard exercise, Pousi has thick, dark hair and thick, dark eyebrows. Her eyes, too, are dark, and her very favorite feature, though she lavishes attention on her skin and delights in wearing dramatic makeup that looks almost like warpaint, even when she's not fighting Thread, and eye-catching clothing. She treats her makeup and her clothes like armor and always takes great care with them.
Personality: Pousi pretended to be confident until she genuinely felt it, and now she really does believe that she is every bit as brave, strong, and smart as she used to pretend to be. But note that this was something she had to pretend to be at first. Growing up she was the girl whose jokes only got laughed at when someone else repeated them louder, and who genuinely liked to fit in. She got tired of that though, so now she's loud and bold and takes no nonsense from anyone. Folks who do give her difficulty, she will do her best to avoid in the future and hope that bad things happen to them, Not, like, seriously bad things. Just minor annoyances like clothing that gets ruined during laundering or rumors starting that they said the Weyrwoman is a honkin' chonker. She will not let these sorts of grudges go - ever - and will continue disliking people in secret (or not-so-secret).

History: Pousi wasn't anything out of the ordinary until she Impressed Rednykth. Then she was a brownrider, and those are special in the way that all dragonriders are special. She had a group of friends among the weyrfolk that she'd grown up with since they were put in the creche together. Some Impressed before her, and others were people she met as a candidate, Searched from outside the Weyr. When she Impressed a brown dragon she felt like all of her male candidate friends who had yet to Impress believed she had stolen their dragon, whether or not this was actually the case, and she began to worry that others felt the same way about her Impression, and so she tried to be invisible, but it is hard to be invisible astride a gigantic brown telepathic firebreather, whose feelings were a little hurt by the way she tried to downplay their bond. To avoid hurting her dragon's feelings she made a conscious decision to stop blending in and stopped apologizing for being who she was. She also made a point of befriending people outside the Weyr whenever the opportunity arose, building a network. It was scary and hard, but she did it, and now she has an amazing wardrobe and masterful makeup skills. Also she took up charcoal drawing. She's not bad at it. She's been very pleased to observe what feels like an increase in female brownriders in recent turns.

Physical Description: Brown, with a somewhat shorter extremities than usual: a practically stubby tail, stumpish legs, a thick neck, and wings that make you wonder how he gets off the ground (he prefers a leaping/falling start, but he can certainly get into the air the usual way, too). He likes to wear warpaint to fight Thread, like his rider, though his version of it is messy eating before Fall to make sure he's a bloody terror.
Personality: Rednykth sees himself as a fixer. If someone expresses a wish to acquire something or meet someone, he's the dragon who can be counted on to try to arrange it. (With varying levels of success, it must be said.) He likes to think of himself as quite clever and complicated and enjoys scheming and gossip (mostly good-natured). Around other dragons he is almost never seen to be unpleasant, and his habit of smoothing over his rider's occasionally abrasive behavior could be mistaken for a people-pleasing attitude, but the fact is that the two of them are always working in tandem, and he's simply the one who gets to put on the nice face. In fact, he was a people-pleaser when he hatched (that tendency was part of why he and Pousi were drawn together). It helps that Rednykth actually does enjoy being praised for achieving goals, which includes getting things for people and having plans go off smoothly. In the name of planning and accomplishing goals, he would totally be the dragon to have a spreadsheet and checklists if that was a possibility. Instead, he's just fortunate that he has a long memory (for a dragon) and some skill at recalling others' personal details.
