It was strange to see the Tanikage's office so neat and tidy, something Sasaki still couldn't quite get over. The previous kage hadn't exactly been the most well organized person when it came to her workspace, but now all of her personal documents and effects had been cleared out. Anything worth passing on had been filed away in a handful of boxes beside the desk. His desk. Another strange new reality that had yet to sink in. As the new Tanikage, this was his office, his desk, his documents. Despite his presence here still feeling as if he was merely "filling in", Sasaki had been named the Yondaime Tanikage. Sasaki let the thought linger for a few seconds more before taking a deep breath and deciding to get to work for the day.
The previous two days had largely consisted of getting up to speed on ongoing projects and missions he hadn't previously been aware of, and going over basic paperwork and new mission reports. Today however, he'd made time to start going through the boxes beside his desk. Sasaki selected a box at random to start with and heaved it up onto his desk. He removed the lid and picked up a scroll from the box, unfurling it on the desk. The kage would spend a few minutes going over the information, scan it a second time for good measure, then roll it back up to set it aside and move on to the next scroll. While the first few more mostly diplomatic notes and assorted general intelligence, Sasaki eventually stumbled upon some rather interesting historical information. The scroll went on to detail a pair of some kind ancient relics supposed located in nearby regions. It seemed to largely by mythological and/or superstitious record, but there was enough legitimate study and research mixed in to suggest some merit to the accounts. The scroll written by the previous kage herself, judging from the handwriting, eventually concluded with a summation of the consequences these relics could have should they be discovered or utilized maliciously. Certainly a heavy discovery for your first week as kage.
Sasaki took the time to read the entire scroll thoroughly a second time before leaning back in his chair for a moment. He took a deep breath and ran his fingers through his hair. "Well... That's... Huh." Dozens of considerations rolled through his mind for a moment. Eventually he sat up and pulled a scroll from a cubby beneath his desk. He checked over the list of assignments and projects currently open, then put it away. According to the listing and the spec ops briefing from earlier in the week, there were no official or "officially non-official" efforts regarding these relics. Had she not believed in her own concerns as much as the note would suggest? Or were there other reasons there weren't more investigation into this? Either way, Sasaki decided this was going to be his first personally-assigned mission.
The Yondaime Tanikage took out a blank scroll of his own and began scribbling rapidly across it. A few minutes later, he rolled it up, delivered it to his receptionist, and sat down to go over the previous kage's notes once more. Within a few minutes, several people scattered across the village in search of the people listed in the kage's message. One to find the scholar, one to find the artist, and one to find the wandering shinobi, Tynidas. It would take nearly an hour to locate him, but eventually the messenger did manage to locate the blind healer. She approached him cheerily. "Good morning! The Tanikage would like you to visit his office as soon as possible. He's got an urgent request to discuss with you." The messenger smiled, then disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Though he doesn't know what happened to him after so much time in the forest, yet it sounds like a new kage is in seat of Tani, a man by the sounds of it. With him remembering his way back to Tani, he would tap his foot to get his echo going and would dash.
The time in the forest seem like years but in all that time, Tynidas never stopped honing his skills, more importantly his medical jutsu and art. He takes being a medical shinobi very seriously and that anyone under his care is going to get proper treatment to full, not a single sickness or wound left. Walking back into Tani, it brings him back memories, to the mission of the finding of the cat, the encounter with the client and his brash attitude. He would grin like a old man, as if something he's glad he didn't forget about and how nice it was to help that feline too. He would march towards the office of the kage and knocks on the door "May i enter, Tanikage sir?" Formalities like that, that wasn't something he had before. His time in the forest must of encouraged him to read on proper expression to someone of authority.

Contained within was basic information on the research team, initial rendezvous time and location, and a generic seal containing money for luxury travel expenses (because what private academic wouldn't want to travel comfortably?).

"So i am like your secret observer over this mission, as according to you i am like a shadow within the village but at the same time, i am not. To add to this, a research team going into a sinkhole like terrain and you need someone like me for the discreet nature of such a assignment? Count me in also i could present some ideas of what the potential threat of the sink hole could be. They are hypothetical at best but its just in the moment as i stand before you, considerable stuff too. Whatever made the sink hole or what lives in it could be animals that prowl at night while in day they sleep within. Considering they are a research team, i imagine they don't have any sort of combat training yes?"
He poses the question because he has to know what the capabilities are of the research team together and by themselves as well. If the Tanikage remembers, Tynidas is rather a tactical person who wishes or at all times the strengths and weaknesses of his squad members. He tends to want to commodate on those factors and present the best case of positioning based on the information. Though he doesn't like when any information is withheld, it can put the whole squad at risk and in danger too. Lucky that he is a man that on the fly come up with a back up plan, completely fabricated in the moment. Perhaps Sasaki chose him factorizing he would already ask for more information, but how each member does in the field from preferred ways of research and specialty as well.
