As the sun rose over Nalith, Terry caught sight of the wintery scenery around him. The glorious fountain in the center of town, the many shops with their shutters closed, and in the distance, a stone path leading to a lush enchanted forest.
Terry passed the fountain where now in the northwest corner of town was the castle where he was headed.
Like most of the buildings, the castle had a medieval look to it, save for no moat or drawbridge. It was made of a grey stone for the most part, redwood for the door combined with some iron handles, and it had oak shuttered windows. He had to wonder how cold was this place in that castle, did one have to wear winter jackets while inside?
The garden where the romantic piano was, was located beside the castle on the left. It was quite large, this garden was, and there was fresh produce growing in the garden too. Everything about this place was about nature and the beauty that nature brought when it wasn't stinking of animal waste. It did smell earthy, but not like crap.
Finding a seat close to an ivy hedge that served as a wall to protect the one edge of the forest, Terry opened up the menu. The breakfast included toast with the selection of either peanut butter or jam. The jam flavor had selections too. There was blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, or blackberry. One could even make it a combo and then if one did that, there would be a deal that went with it. One got a plate of apple slices with cinnamon on them if they did the PB and J toast. There wasn't much else for the breakfast other than the option of cheese spread toast. There were options of what type of bread. Terry had to smirk with how different this was than back home. All nature based, no harming animals. That would explain why there wasn't eggs or bacon on the menu. And while bread did include eggs to be made, I bet these eggs were not animal eggs, but some sort of substitute. Maybe it worked differently here with how the selection of eggs were made.
Terry could reason that if the eggs were not fertilized by a rooster or a male bird, then there would be no animals harmed. In light of this, Terry decided he would have the PB and J toast where the bread would be wheat based loaf slice style. The jam flavor would be strawberry. For a drink, he chose orange juice.
The one familiar thing that he noticed about this garden and back home was that for the morning, the food is made via a machine or a variety of machines. There was a chute hanging over his table, which seemed to ruin the nature's beauty theme, a computer in the center of the table to select what one wanted along with payment options. There were many currencies to pay with, including burps. Terry chuckled when he saw that one. Dee would love that. But then, in some cultures, burping after eating was a compliment and it was returning to the nature theme. For burping was a body's natural way of digestion. He was somewhat glad that farting wasn't an option of payment. Even though farting is also a body's natural way of digestion, the reason a fart happens after eating is not so appetizing.
Terry did not have to wait long for his food, and he enjoyed some birds chirping in the distance along with the sound of the Entheran ocean as he ate.
