Nestled in the safety of the Dai Llewellyn Ward on the Third Floor of St Mungos waits a warm bed with all necessary restraints and equipment all around. These rooms are used for the most serious of all the bites, including dealing with transformations into various creatures. This is the room of Moon, Sebastian K.

Where had everything gone wrong? Seb vaguely remembered walking by the lake, then... somehow the forest? Or... had the lake just been his imagination? It was really hard to put all the blocks back in place. He had fallen, though that was so accurate to himself. He fell all the time... so why did this one hurt so much more. His brain fizzled out as the pain enveloped him, the small boy held under by the new virus coursing through his veins. It wasn't until morning that he felt himself come to, cold hands gently pressed against his burning skin as he was moved. Even then, he wanted to cry out, to scream with the agony of his broken body being moved... yet nothing came out. He was locked in his mind, a weird floaty feeling as he seemed to watch himself.
It wasn't long before he was moving, lights overhead sending patterns over his eyelids and into his brain. Familiar voices danced through his ears, some louder than others, before another big move. This one brought about a lot of bright light, a lot of people talking... but what were they saying? He tried to bring himself to consciousness, but as his eyes peeked open, all he could see was a blinding white light and weird, ghostly blurs. Something was poured into his mouth and the lights seemed to fade away.
Over time, he could vaguely make out the sensations of being poked and prodded, pushed and pulled as his brain rocked like a ship in a storm. Everything was both incredibly painful... and entirely numb. As the people worked, Seb could only vaguely recall the events that led to this moment... but even then... could he really? The only thing he knew for certain was that he wanted his mama there. She'd always been the one to keep pain and fears at bay, but he'd never felt so alone... He wanted to scream and cry, but what if this sensation wasn't salvation?

xx❧ Wʜᴇʀᴇ Aᴍ I? St Mungos - Seb's Room xxx❧ Wʜᴏ Is Wɪᴛʜ Mᴇ? Nora, Nani, Sebby, & various medical folk xxxx❧ Wʜᴀᴛ's Gᴏɪɴɢ Oɴ? Getting terrible news xxxxx❧ Wʜᴀᴛ's Iɴsɪᴅᴇ Mʏ Hᴇᴀᴅ? I should've been there for him...
Kinzlie... had been having a rather interesting night. She'd hardly been able to catch a wink, nightmares throwing her about. She tried all her tricks, but there was just... something not right. Perhaps she'd call out of work and see if she could sleep later? The young woman paced about her flat, a small pang of sadness at the empty room her son had claimed. Even though he'd been at school for almost three years now, it still hurt to realize how lonely Kinzlie felt without Seb. The first ten plus years it'd always just been the two of them against the world, but not it felt like he didn't need her as much. Most people her age would be excited for the chance at freedom, but honestly, Seb had been her freedom.
As her thoughts wandered to memories of her childhood, Kinzlie was startled by a frantic knocking upon the door. Wrapping a blanket around her, the woman opened the door to see Nora standing there. "Nora? Why... what has you coming here at... so early?" Kinzlie's brain wasn't entirely on the ball, but there was something about that haunted sort of look in the older woman's eyes that caused her to step back. "Nora, what... What happened?"
Nora stepped in, trying to think about her words. The echo of her daughter's words was still ringing in her ears. Nani had tried to come along, but Nora had instructed the younger Heulwen to go home and change, then to take a moment and tell Laili what happened. But now, she would have to tell Kinzlie... who in all but name had become something of a daughter to her. "Kinzlie... There was an incident last night... And Sebastian... He was injured, rather badly, and bitten by a werewolf." Best just spill it all here and now.
That news was... not what Kinzlie had expected. Her baby boy was hurt? And weren't werewolf bites something of a lifelong condition? "You had better be lying to me. Tell me this is just some sort of.... of sick prank. Because if-if Seb..." She started, stammering over her words as tears filled her dark eyes. Nora moved just swiftly enough to catch her before the young woman's legs gave out. She quickly explained the situation, then told Kinzlie to get dressed so they could go sit with Sebastian.
It only took her a moment before she was done, dressed simply, begging to go. Nora pulled the girl close and apparated, landing them in the quiet ward. "Mam. Kinz... He's not awake yet, and they're still trying to fix his leg. It got broken pretty badly." Kinzlie sobbed again, being pulled close to Nora once again. The three waited in the hall until they were allowed into the eerily quiet room. Kinzlie hurried to the bed, seeing her son with his messily-stripped hair and deeply flushed cheeks. She didn't even notice the young man - around her age - standing on the other side of Seb's bed.
"I take it you're Mrs Moon? Um. Hi, I'm Brennie Findlay-Abrams. I'll be the healer in charge of Sebastian for now. We got him fully stabilized after the injury, but it was too late to stop the infection from taking over. He is going to carry lycanthropy with him from now on." His voice was somber, despite his squishy baby face, causing Kinzlie a moment of hesitation. "Th-there's no way to fix it? N-no way to make it go away?" She tried, her voice a broken plea as the young man sadly shook his head. For the second time in only a short matter of moments, Kinzlie felt her heart drop from her chest and her knees follow. This time it was Nani to catch her, holding her upright.
"There's more you're not telling us, isn't there?" Nora's voice was barely above a whisper, her own mind flashing back to the day she'd been in Kinzlie's position crying over her daughter. Healer Findlay-Abrams nodded a bit. "Y-yes ma'am. From being in poor condition through the night, he's also got a rather aggressive illness, paired with the severe injuries he collected... it's not going to make a super easy recovery. However, I've already consulted on the Head Healer from Pediatrics, Lyall Thompson, about the issue. He'll be by shortly to do more on that end. Either way, Sebastian is expected to make a full recovery, it'll just... take a while."
Kinzlie sobbed again, gently brushing the messy hair from her son's face. The healer bowed out after a few questions from the others, but Kinzlie had one focus. Her first thought was one of anger. If he'd never been invited to that damn school, he'd still be safe and human... but that feeling subsided, with anger at herself taking place. She felt like the worst mother in the world for allowing her son to suffer such terrible injuries... but even then... was there really anything she'd have been able to do?
It took several minutes of the three just standing in silence before anything actually happened. None could be the ones to break it, no, but the boy in the center of the room certainly could. Seb murmured softly, struggling to keep his eyes open before Nani helpfully dimmed the lights in the room. "Hey bubby..." Kinzlie spoke softly, gently caressing the boy's warm cheek. "Hey.... mama.... was jus.... 'bout you..." he mumbled in return, voice sounding almost syrupy from the infection and fever ravaging him. Kinzlie placed a small kiss on his forehead before carefully pulling the blankets further up around him. This was going to be a very long sort of day indeed.
